Hi all, I've been having serious problems with my pure edition Moto X. Practically since I bought it, a month ago. The phone is stock and without root. The phone restarts itself every night, one or more times. I have tried leaving the phone in safe mode, with or without internet connection and even in battery safe mode and it keeps happening. I also tried to clean cache from recovery and doing a factory reset without consequences. The rest of the day the phone works without any issues.
The most weird thing is the battery stats graph the phone shows after this happens. I attached a screen capture of that. It seems like the phone reads that the battery suddenly drops to zero and stays that way for several hours until it restarts and get a normal reading again. I'm thinking that maybe it has something to do with the battery or the system reading the battery level wrong.
I will greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!
If it's happening in safe mode, than I'd exchange it on warranty.
Is there anyway to manually reinstall lollipop? Maybe something went wrong in the update. If it was a hardware problem it should do it at any tine, right?
Have you tried to factory reset from recovery mode? Also you need to calibrate your battery once a month. Solved my same problem.

My Mi 5 seems to be overheating, I was in a 30-degree bus while using and it seemed to be going at least 50 degrees which burnt my finger when I touched the screen and held the phone. My friend had an iPhone 6s and he was even listening to music and messaging his friends and heavy using his phone but it wasn't even that hot. I've tried multiple ROMs and it doesn't seem to be that. I felt my Mi 5 could even catch on fire in that heat. I am thinking of upgrading to an iPhone 7 mainly because this issue, also my Mi 5 does overheat even in 20-degree heat while doing heavy usage such as playing Pokemon Go, using maps and watching videos. I've only had my Mi 5 for a couple of months and don't want to upgrade my phone so soon. While it was overheating today I was listening to music and messaging a couple of friends and the brightness was 50%. I was using the CM14.1 ROM. But I have had this issue before, just not this bad. Is anyone else having the same issue to my level, if so can I please have some help? I am using the 64GB model.
I never reached that temperature with my Mi5 ,only after intensive use maybe 41°C a few times but never that high like Tours.Try in twrp to wipe data and cache ,dalvic cache too and check after that.If that is not working try a new fresh install rom with wipe all

Thanks for trying to help. But as mentioned before I have tried over ROMs etc. Do you think I should get a new device as it seems as my MI 5 is a fire hazard. I can't return it cause I bought it in China and am in New Zealand at the moment.
Thanks, Sam
Ok
My phone rarely gets hot. I basically never reach 50°C, however when i rant a multithreaded stress test programm, i easily reached 80°C for the CPU within the first few seconds. The phone itself would be heating up in time as well, but well, this is the worst case scenario that rarely happens to anyones phone. Its a phone after all, entertainment and such, not something you can unload some work onto. Well, thats at least my take on "smart"phones these days.
So if you reach 50°C while doing basically nothing, while the ambient temperature, is like 20°C somethings definitely off. Maybe there is some issue with the clockspeed and its locked at the highest tier at all times. that might explain the eating for no reason, while load would remain low.
P.S. I doubt there is a hardware defect
Hello guys. Recently my phone has been acting up. It's been rebooting or shutting down by itself while not in use(standby/sleep). But this issue doesn't happen at all while the phone is in use. I tried to reflash everything from scratch but it's still happening, even when I'm on stock. Hardware failure imminent?
One thing is, about a week ago, when I put my phone to download stuffs overnight, I found it suddenly getting REALLY hot after just 2 hours or so and battery completely drained. I shut it down for itself to cool down before charging it. It was ok for a couple days than the issue I mention above started happening. Oh yeah, and it's getting hot easily now.
Any idea, anyone? Is it really hardware issue or anything I can do software wise?
So Lately my Galaxy Note 5 became pain in the butt. While watching youtube on "Youtube app" the screen turns to black, and then I have to pause or play, to have the screen back into play. Same happens with Netflix app I keep getting an error and it closes the app.
The other issue i am facing is battery drains so Fast. I leave the phone with a complete charge at night, and in the morning like in 6-7 hours , the phone is dead. Even if it is on battery saving mode.
I am with Verizon, and most of the time it is connected to WiFi.
I had this phone for 2 years, never faced issues such this? - Is there anyway to solve it, cause i do not want to change the phone yet. Also I have tried to do hard reset, everything, shutting it down ,etc.. it is not fixing the issue
Any suggestions? - Maybe it is the latest update causing the issue?
You might need to change the battery especially if you've done a hard reset among other things.
Hi all. My phone freezes very often, sometimes this freeze lasts 3 seconds, sometimes 2-3 minutes. I installed another rom(pixel) but the problem still exists. When I reset the phone to factory settings, the phone works fine for a while, but as time goes by it gets back to its old state.
