I've noticed that if I try to charge my razr I with my car charger (2000ma USB griffin cigarette ) it charges quickly.
If I try the same with my ipad charger it seems to go really slow?
The ipad charger should also output 2000ma so I don't know why it's charging slowly unless the razr i is limiting the amount of current it is drawing?
Bigger battery, more charging to do. One guy, somewhere on here, posted a chart showing the speed and duration of his charging. It took about 2 hours for a full charge. Know that generally, phones are made to accept a charge faster for the first 30/40/50% of the cycle and to charge more normally after that.
You just have to make some counts. The charger charges at 900 mAh. So you need 2 hours and 10 minutes (more or less) to charge all the 2000 mAh battery. Maybe you use a different charger that charges more mAh.
I am looking for best car charger, my phone will be all day on in the car, and I am looking for best solution for charging in the car, and fastest.
I found few good chargers but not sure are they support quick charge
Samsung OEM ECA-U21CBE Micro-USB 2-Amp Rapid In-Car Power Charger
and
Car Charger, iOttie RapidVolt 5Amp/25-Watt Dual Port USB Car Charger
Or is there some third better solution? Sorry I can't post links
thank you
anything above 2A is consider fast/rapid charge and barely any difference than the "quick charge" not to mention, saving a few mintues might do more harm than good to your replaceable battery.. at 2A, the phone will go from 6-10% battery to 50% in about 25 minutes.

Ottie:

I have the Anker and would buy it again, and has tons of positive reviews..
Thank you, what about Verizon Quick Charge 2.0?
I have used Verizon QUALCOMM version and would recommend the quick charge version if you want to take advantage of the quick charge. If time to charge I not an issue then obviously any high amp charger like the units cited above such as iottie would work
Is quick charge healthy for battery in my case? Or maybe should I get slower one?
I am using the Airdock.
While I can't say I loved it with the S5 (was falling off) the flat back of the Edge fits perfectly on it so I'm much happier with it.
Fun streaming video, back passengers can watch video off of it with the car speakers...
works well.

faster charging will always put a bit more wear on battery than charging at a slower rate. most people here will probably swap devices often so probably doesn't matter for them. if you plan to keep your device for a few years and want max battery life then maybe use a 5V 2A charger instead (one that i've linked to above).
2A is still "fast charge" the only difference is it's Quick Charge 1.0 which is at 5 Volts compared to Quick Charge 2.0 that runs at 9 Volts.
better example:
Quick Charge 1.0 - 5V @ 2A (5V * 2A) = 10 Watts of power
If your phone is at around 8-10% you'll get to about 50% charge in about 30 minutes.
Quick Charge 2.0 - 9V @ 1.7A (9V * 1.7A) = 15 Watts of power (up to 12V * 3A = 36 watts for some tablets)
If your phone is at around 8-10% you'll get to about 50% charge in about 20-25 minutes.
Quick Charge 2.0 will only be a little bit faster once the battery gets to around 50-60%, then it will throttle down to Quick Charge 1.0 rates to keep the battery from getting too hot and causing excessive wear.
All Quick Charge 2.0 devices are also backwards compatible with Quick Charge 1.0, meaning that you can use a Quick Charge 2.0 device with a Quick Charge 1.0 supply, and visa versa.
In short: Quick Charge 2.0 will only save you about 15 minutes to completely charge your phone compared to the normal 5V @ 2A chargers.
Get Verizons branded car charger with fast charge. Workscexcellent, and AND has a little flashlight right above the micro charge plug, which comes in super handy in dark car. Very well made.

Thats not true, Yes its better
if you want Fast charge it has to have 9v out
others have 5v out even tho some have a 2.4amp out not a fast rapid charger

I bought this one. Didn't fully test yet but when I plug this, it says "fast charging". It would be better if this has light notification. But it's good that it charges fast.
I'm just curious how long it's taking people to charge their devices using a QC 3.0 charger. It seems slow for me. I went from 10% to 20% in about twenty minutes. Other QC devices I've had charge much faster than this. Is this normal? It's an Anker 3.0 charger and I've tried multiple cables.
Its taking longer than id imagined based on what id seen about QC3 fast enough though and the phone doesn't seem to get warm. This is using the provided Sony charger which the store told me was a quick charge one. I see similar speeds off my Anker in car charger which is QC3 compliant.
Only ever had my Nexus 5X to compare to (which wasn't QC3 just rapid USB charging) and it seems about on par with that id say.
Using the included Sony QC charger and cable, mine charged from 16% to 70% in 50 minutes and then tapered off from 70% to 100% taking ~80 minutes for that.
Is the QC included? Read a review that it was not. Will receive mine next week.
I think it depends on the region; mine came from Expansys, which I think is the Hong Kong version with a type-G plug (UK), and it did. It only came with a corded hands-free headset, though.
Mine arrived Thursday and I charged it to 100% before turning it on. It was at 5% today when I plugged in the charger. It took 2 hours to reach 100% with the phone turned on but not being used. My phone was ordered from eGlobal Central, Hong Kong. Charger has the Type G plug with Type A, non-polarized adapter.
Cheers!
Got it today, and there was no QC in the package. :/ I live in Scandinavia.
There's a toggle in the settings for the Battery Care mode and from what I understand it monitors your charge habits and slows the quick charge time down during times when it thinks you'll leave it plugged in longer. The premise is that it will prolong battery service life. If you're looking for absolute fastest charge times be sure that's toggled off because it's on by default.
My HK market phone also came with the Sony quick charger. Seller included an adapter for US.
I ordered this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMAR-Charge-Charger-PowerPort-Samsung-Black/dp/B075CFKWNQ/ from Ebay with an EU plug.

I bought a Quickcharge3 from Amazon. Works brilliantly, 2% per minute for the first 30 minutes. Slows down quickly after that. As was mentioned above, there is a battery care option that can delliberatly slow down the charge if it feels it's not in the interests of the battery, perhaps that's what's happening when you are charging. Turn if off, restart the phone and then try again.
Edit: make sure you are using the original supplied Sony USB cable when you are testing. USB C leads are notorious at giving charging problems, especially cheap ones.
Any visual clues if fast charging is active? When using the magnetic load connection on the z3c the 'Fast charging' text was visible.
Xperia z1
Using a generic charger my Xperia Z1 have a decent charging speed.
My some apps are open while you charge. They consume a large amount of space and battery.
Hi,
I have a funny setup: solar charger/table decoration connected to a wireless charger (stuff from ebay with Samsung logo).
So I assume it will charge so slow if any at all. But still.. at least won't discharge during office hours.
Would this hurt battery in any way?
Well it should not hurt it. If most, like all wireless chargers they are actually good for your battery health. Wireless charging charges slow but does not strain the battery as much. If you fast charge your phone it does worse to the battery long term
However if you post the model of your charger we can look it up and be sure
will slow wireless charging hurt my batter if I'm using a Samsung wireless charger?
model: EP-PG950 - 2018 model that i received with my note 8
Same Question
I had the same questions. I also see there is an option for fast wireless charging in settings. If slow charging is better for battery health and you mostly leave your phone charging over night, would it be best to leave fast charging off so it takes most of the time you are sleeping to charge slowly until full?
At the moment I leave my phone at low charge while I sleep and wake up 2 or 3 hours earlier to plug it in so that I don't over charge the battery.
Wireless charging creates more heat so this question is hard to answer as I have not seen any good breakdowns of qi vs fast. I have been wirelessly charging from older chargers like the wireless charger that came out for note 4 and some 3 coil charger from Nokia that was on clearance for $15. They're not fast wireless charging and phone does get warm. I also charge off of 500ma and 1A chargers usually and only use the adaptive fast charging (QC2.0) when I need a quick top up. Heat doesn't help your battery.
Perhaps somebody can do a comparison with regular qi, fast qi, 1A or less charger and the adaptive fast charger and see what the min and Max of battery temp is through out charging cycle. I'm guessing 1A charger is the best and regular qi is ok. Fast wireless and Fast charging get your battery temp higher.
To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
With the supplied charger and cable the charging time is very impressive ("Turbo Charge") with a normal QC3.0 charger charge time is still very good but comparable to most other QC3.0 devices.
Something to note is the device does get noticeably warm when using the supplied charger in the "Turbo Charge" mode.
Takes about an hour for me with included charger.

yes i noticed it get warm to hot-ish
isn't that bad for the battery?
moreover i noticed that if you charge while turned off it does not get hot

That's normal because you're not using it, if using while charging it will be hot as your running apps, tasks etc... at the same time. This will increase the heat as sensors will be running also.
Has anyone tried to use other cables that has the same turbo charge effect like the included cable? The included cable is too short, usually I use 2 meters long cable.
I have tried the baseus 5A 40W cable but it only support quick charging and not turbo.
I've tested charging wattage using original 33W charger and original USB cable via specialized USB tester, and I noticed it provides only 25W (about 9.6V/2.65A). It shows "Turbo Charge" indeed, but it's still only 75% efficient. Anyone care to explain this? Is this normal? I've read that only Zoom edition can be charged at 33W, so I expected non-Zoom edition will charge at least with 30W. I tried two other USB cables, and still only 25W. Later today I will try to charge it with Blitzwolf 30W PD charger and see how it goes with that one...
I haven't really tested charge speeds. So far the battery life has been exceptional and the main reason I opted for this phone without the high res screen and refresh rate, as see battery as more essential. I would much prefer charging at a slow speed to preserve battery life. A good app for this is AccuBattery. It measures how many mAh's being charged and discharged after each charge and keeps a graph. It will estimate battery health also.
Yeah I know about AccuBattery, I've been using it in the past. But a real physical tester device is always more precise. I do sw/hw development for a living so I know for a fact. Indeed, battery life is very good because optimized MIUI and pretty big battery, but it would be even better if charging speed was also up to the specs. Meanwhile I've tested charging speed using Blitzwolf 30W PD2.0 charger (K30Pro should support PD3.0 and be backward compatible), and situation is even worse - only about 15-16W at QC3.0 I believe. So no Turbo Charge was initiated. I mean 25W with original charger is still good, but I expected advertised charging speed. I'll do more tests when I catch some time.
Thats normal, because it don't charge all the time with 30W. Compare it with WARP Charge 30T it is faster. OnePlus 8 got 30W and 4300 mAh, F2 Pro is faster with bigger bettery but it's almost the same.
How old is your Blitzwolf charger?
I know it shouldn't charge @30W above 80-90%, but sure it should at 20-ish where I'm at about now. It's also not even cool to the touch, so there's no apparent reason to slow it to 25W. My Blitzwolf charger is about a year old, but I only used it couple of times, so it should be as good as new.

Batteries don't like heat but it is actively monitored and it will slow down charging when it crosses temperature threshold.
That's why I mentioned my phone is not even cool to the touch (let alone hot), so my case is not temperature related. I'll try to charge it while turned off, though it was pretty much in idle doing nothing when I did the test, ie. not stressed at all by any factor. All in all, I mean if everyone else gets 25W out of original charger, I won't bother anymore. Also, if it charges from 10-90% in around 1 hour, I won't waste any more time on this either, since it's good enough for me. I was just curious why it charges at 25W, when 30W (and 33W for Zoom edition) was advertised. Altough it wouldn't be the first time something was advertised at launch, and not achievable in real-case scenario.

Fun fact: phone doesn't charge when powered off?! That's a first. Is it just me, or am I getting too old? For the whole time I'm talking about my Redmi, not to confuse it with Poco, if that matters at all. Maybe Poco works differently.
On my Huawei device you also can not turn off an charge but this starts with Android 10.
takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes for me, I think the high temperature here, summer season, is the reason for this slow charging speed.
From 20-100% in about an hour. Few minutes less actually. Battery is big, that's all ok.
F2 turn off and are dead with 0% (can't turn on). Timer 60 min. and after 60 min. I got 96% with original charger. The phone don't turn on, like it always do.
@Burs a friend told me "on my Anker charger I only can use PD over the third usb port, with the type c port it will charge over QC 3.0 and not over PD" maybe thats why you get ~16W?
When my Redmi was turned off completey, it was hooked up to my USB tester for about a minute. I doubt it would trigger after some minutes, and only then start charging. For the whole time it was connected, I was getting 5V / 0.015A readings on the display. That's pretty much USB tester drawing the power from the phone battery, not the charger! So that would mean charging was completely disabled making the phone behave as a power bank lol. Weird enough, right?
My Blitzwolf charger has only two ports. One PD2.0 (USB-C) and one QC3.0 (USB-A). I've tried three sets of USB cables (one even 5A) on both ports, and best I could get out of it was about 15W. I think I'll have to order another one with PD3.0 and Turbo Charge compatibility.
Heh I'm planning on just using my old 1A slow chargers because they're dotted around the house and work, will probably not even plug fast charger in. Magnetic cables are just so convenient.
