Steps to Flash T-Mobile firmware onto S10 with U1 - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Will someone give me the steps to do this with my S10 Unlocked U1?? Do I need to flash Userdata and CSC both?? It is running on T-Mobile now with the U1 but do not get good carrier signals as I did on my S7 T-Mobile branded. Thanks for any Help.

You don't have to flash USERDATA file, but I did it anyway. You do need CSC file and I personally always flash regular CSC file and not the HOME CSC.
Go to settings in your phone and use Samsung backup/restore feature, so after flashing, you can restore easily.

I just did this the other day...downloaded the firmware from SamMobile.com (your target product number is SM-G973U, look for latest TMB in the list), which also has instructions for flashing on the right hand side of the download page for the firmware that you select. Note that the patched version of Odin worked for me first try, although you can try the regular version of Odin first, and then if that fails, try the patched version. I started with the patched version and it worked fine.
Once you have the firmware, it's really easy. Make sure that you have a recent version of the Samsung USB driver for the PC that you're using for flashing. I doubt that I have the latest, but the USB driver that I have is apparently recent enough *smile*. Extract the firmware from the .zip archive it comes in, then download and bring up Odin. I found it very easy to use drag-and-drop from the folder with the extracted firmware to fill out the corresponding Odin fields. As was mentioned, I also use CSC instead of Home CSC, and put in the User Data as well.
Then put your phone in download mode (volume down + bixby buttons, then press power...release buttons when the blue caution screen appears, and follow the instructions to "continue" to download mode). Next connect your phone to your PC via a USB cable. At this point, a COM port number should appear in Odin in one of the upper horizontal widgets. Once that happens, you should be able to click "Start" on Odin, and the flashing process should run all the way through with no errors.
I found that this worked best for me if I moved through these steps without taking long pauses between steps. Keeping things moving is helpful. I tried using a Smart Switch backup for restore after the factory defaults reset you get from flashing with CSC, and that reminded me how much manual labor is needed after restoring even with a full restore.
Good luck...if anything comes up, feel free to ask questions *smile*.

can TMB be flashed for smg9750 as well?

Sorry got the bump but has anyone had success flashing from SM-G970U to U1 to unlock the bootloader and move into a successful root process? Attempting now on VZW locked s10e Android ten. Gunna run the new update right after success or failure i suppose lol.

I am in the US. I received a Galaxy Note as a gift. Purchased off NewEgg, sometime in December, allegedly from Canada, but I think that was a lie.
Samsung USA and Samsung Canada both denied the existence of this model.

CSC: N7000OJVKK2
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKK9-CL725676 [email protected] #2

My carrier is T-Mobile, with terrible, terrible data connection. (No 3G)
Will it be possible to receive OTA updates even though T-Mobile has never heard of it?
Kies says the device is unsupported. Is it possible to straighten that out?
Finally, if I need to use Odin, or some other tool to flash a ROM, how can I do a full backup first?

That's fascinating. Not the sketchiest place it could have come from, but definitely not Canada. It looks like the January update missed South Africa.
So, where does that leave me as far as updating my firmware?
Will it update on its own when S. African devices get the update? Is there any way I can connect it to Kies? Is there any benefit and/or risk to reflashing it to another region?

If you root your Note as mentioned above, you can forget about Kies (which is a piece of ****e, BTW), and flash any stock or custom Rom you like. Just check the Dev section and you'll find a wide choice of both.

Too many choices. :-/
Since I posted this thread, I have:
1. Learned a huge amount about my phone and how it works internally.
2. Rooted my phone using the ZergRush script.
3. Backed up everything on my phone using Titanium Backup.
4. Installed Odin Pro
Now, I have to decide which Firmware to install. I'd prefer a stock ROM, since I like the stock UI and apps.
It sounds like I have to change my CSC code to continue? Since there is only one ROM for my CSC. Will this step wipe my phone?
Are there any reasons to prefer one region's ROM over another? "Open" sounds like a good thing. Does it matter?
Don't worry about changing the csc. Its always an option, but entirely unnecessary unless you want to go full stock and remain unrooted. If your csc matches the csc of the official rom you have installed, you'll get kies/ota updates for that region (with dbt probably being the best one)
However, if you always want to flash the latest official firmware via mobile odin, regardless of region, and retain root, your csc is irrelevant.
It doesn't matter which rom you use from the list. I'm currently on the Germany lb1 rom, and the only difference is that the initial 'touch the Android to begin' screen was in German. There's a button on that screen to select your language from a list.

You were supposed to. Let me explain:
It's always a good practice to start clean when flashing new Roms (unless the Rom developer doesn't specify otherwise). So, the usual procedure before flashing new Roms is:
1. reboot to CWM recovery
2. factory reset
3. wipe cache
4. advanced/wipe dalvik cache
5. flash Rom zip
When you flash a Rom over another Rom without a full wipe (the little procedure above), you may face issues like FCs, old Rom components still present, random reboots and whatnot. I'm not saying these problems have to happen, but they may.
I actually just wiped mine. I switched the CSC to match the ROM I'm using. I was hoping this would get Kies to talk to it. I don't know why I'm so obsessed with making things work as the manufacturer intended!
Restoring stuff now.
Well there are no apparent benefits with KIES recognizing your device and force updates on them, coz doing so would "unroot" your phone.
So if you want to keep root, just download the stock ROM and use CWM manager to flash it. And this definitely is not how the manufacturer intends it to be, because he never wants you to be "root" in the first place.

I would like to upload a stock firmware may be it fixes it, I found a page (mobilecon.info/samsung-galaxy-note-firmware.html) with a lot of firmware for GT-N7000, but I don’t know what is the right for me, I am fear to brick my device, I had Google for a way to identify the device, but unsuccessfully, please anybody can help me, Thanks, Regards
first > download a GB rom (2.3.6) from samfirmware.com. extract the zip and you will get a tar.md5 file. The download Odin 1.85 and open it on pc. Put the phone in download mode (vol dwn+pwr+home and then vol up to continue) . you will get a downloading screen. at this stage. connect to pc. COM:X should come in yellow. (if not, drivers are missing on the pc. (install kies or samsung USB drivers) select the PDA tab in odin and select the tar.md5 file. donot change any other settings in odin. press start to flash
once done, phone will boot. bot into recovery and do a wipe data/factory reset.
Make sure not to do any wipes while on stock ICS kernels.
Thanks

Yes any GB rom for N7000 will work
lol, people
your on gn, first find product code, use the google search. The one that brings up sell code.
Now you have your pcode, that tels you what device
then dial and note your emei
*#06#
then with your emei
*#272*yourimei#
Now you have csc.
Whatever you do. If you root or plan to flash roms, backup your efs, on and off the phone.
Dont wipe on ics/jb because of brickbug. This includes changing csc, factory reset etc

So It is compatible with the G935T, my next question is if Flashing different carrier firmware effects the LTE bands you can access. does the SoC support all bands based on the ROM or is it a hardware change that effects them?
Thank you... these files just saved me from a brick...No idea what happened but I was stuck at the Samsung AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge screen and factory reset would not work
Any success with just flashing the CSC with the U firmware? I was able to get volte with a corrected xml file but curious if I can mix and match and get more of the atnt features.
worked flawlessly heading back to stock.
i was rooted with the 935U PG9 code - dont have to do anything special. follow steps in ODIN (i also hit the repartition checkbox) and you're back to stock.
if you want to remove the unlock icon on the start up screen, complete odin, let it boot up to welcome screen, then factory reset and it's back to like you bought it.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
I have been stuck at one of the early firmwares beause of a broken ota to my phone. I had just flashed this and i love it. The only problem is that the moment my phone booted up, i was greeted with a message saying, [ATTENTION The Fingerprint sensor is not responding. Try Again Later] Ive googled so much and none of the "fixes" workes. Before you ask, yes i have flashed stock, yes i factory reset, multiple times for both. Please help i want to use my fingerprint sensor again!!!!:crying:
Okay question?
I tried flashing the "U" variant back to a Tmobile G935T Rev 4 PI3 S7 Edge and it errors out halfway through the AP part. All other 3 files will flash though. Why can't I flash it back to the "U" firmware after the Att and Tmobile variants are on Rev 4? The G935U and G930U are both on Rev 4 now too. I'm curious why it won't let me flash that variant anymore. It's not a big deal but personally I think the "U" firmware runs the best out of all of them. If I get a Sprint S7 or S7 Edge I always unlock first then flash to the "U" firmware never to think about taking it back to Sprint firmware. Lol
Plus Sprint is the only one still on Rev 2 Bootloader. So can anyone tell me why the G935A or G935T won't flash back to G935U even though they are both on the same Rev 4?

They will. I've gone back from v4 At&t to v4 U. Something in your setup (phone, cable, pc, files, Odin version) is stopping you.
It's something in the AP checking while flashing it. Try going from G935U Rev 4 back to G935A and watch it error out. Lol
Can someone please help me? I have a g930a and need the PI2 files asap!

Looking for a guide to unroot/back to stock

So I had a botched situation caused by me when flashing a custom Rom (Rom/instructions is great, I went off the reservation myself) and had a soft brick.
I had decided at that point to just revert back to stock and not play around until things stabilize with Eng more. However, I couldn't.
The last stock referenced topic is with an outdated firmware and being 950U1 rather than just U. Downloading updated firmwares (or even attempting that one blindly) resulted in "Device dismatch".
I was then basically forced to (and successfully) go to SamPWN but that wasn't my initial intention.
Does anyone have an updated guide on how we can go back to stock without EngBoot, and specifically also states which CSC file is needed?

I'll give it a go, going to try to do it in an hour or so and see if it'll work with the PrinceC version.
Is there any chance (in your or anyone elses opinion) that the mismatch could be the result of the custom rom being based on U1 rather than just U?

You should be able to just completely reflash the stock TMB firmware with the modded Odin without an issue...am I understanding correctly that this did not work? Download the Prince Comsey modded Odin. It has a .ini file that you need to open w/ a text editor like notepad++, and edit UMS=0 to UMS=1 -this allows you to also flash the userdata file included in the TMB firmware, along w/ the normal BL, AP, CP & CSC.
Make sure you downloaded the correct firmware for the S8 (G950U), not S8+ (G955U).

New android user needing assistance

Hello I've recently moved from iphones to my first Samsung. A Galaxy S10 which I bought off the internet.
The instruction booklet that came with it was in foreign which I didnt think anything of as it accepted my sim card and everything seemed to be working ok. However when i came to set up samsung pay I realised the phone was set up for the united arab emirates, which samsung pay wants me to register to.
Can I reflash the phone to a Uk rom, or am I stuck with the phone as it is? If I can reflash is it done using Smart Switch?
Thanks in advance for any help
You can reflash the stock rom you're on, yes. Try a data factory reset first in recovery.

Thanks, I'll try a factory reset first. Can I just ask a couple of questions in case it doesn't work so I don't end up with a paperweight. I've jailbroken iphones in the past, but never owned an Android, so I don't know what I can/cant do.
1) I'm on O2. I assume its firmware G973FXXS7CTG1 I need. Will the CSC be correct after the reflash? From what I can make out from other posts, if I reflash with my simcard inserted, this will change automatically.
2) Will the reflash trigger Knox? As far as I know the phone is unrooted currently and I'd rather keep it intact if possible.
3) Will I still receive OTA updates, or will I need to do them manually?
4) Is the reflash done through Odin not SmartSwitch?
5) My Smartswitch backup will be restorable after the firmware change? (It's not backed up for one specific firmware only)
Thanks

5) My Smartswitch backup will be restorable after the firmware change? (It's not backed up for one specific firmware only)
Thanks

1: Get Frija to d/l your firmware as it is the fastest way to d/l. Input your model no. and CSC (in your case: O2U), check Auto and Frija will give you the latest firmware for O2. Never heard ones simcard should have any influence when flashing???
2: No. Knox is only triggered if you flash TWRP/ custom ROM/ Magisk aka root your phone. It is completely safe to flash stock ROM using Odin.
3: Not sure - am rooted myself. My experience upgrading via Odin is safe/fast/reliable.
4: Odin. Most important: use HOME_CSC in the CSC-slot. This will keep/restore all your data/apps.
5: Never used Smartswitch???
Cheers. I had a trial run using my galaxy tab a. All went well so going to do my phone next. Thanks for the help.
Update:
Tried my phone but something's not working. I've extracted the firmware from Frija, selected home_csc as well as the ap,bl and cp.
The flash starts, but for some reason though after about 3 seconds I get Odin saying Pass, the phone restarts and nothing seems to have changed on the phone.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The phone was in download mode

Question Looking for a Flash Guide S21 Ultra

I just downloaded a new firmware from Sammobile, but I don't remember what to do now.
I have a custom rom flashed right now, as well as Magisk, so I'm not sure if the procedure is different from a new/clean phone.

Depends if you want to keep the phone rooted or if you want to return to stock
I wish to keep it rooted, as well as to keep my data (if possible).

Then you need to extract the AP section of the firmware, copy it to your phone. Then open magisk and patch the AP file, then copy the patched file back to your PC. Then you can flash the firmware in Odin using the patched ap, with the bl, and the CSC home file. If you use CSC HOME then your data will be kept.
Great! Could you explain the steps in more details?
