I deleted a folder oem - Moto X4 Questions & Answers

Friends,
Using TWRP I deleted the folder "oem" "firmware" "bt_firmware" from my moto x4, now I have no signal, the flashlight does not work and it seems that I am without IMEI. Can you get back to normal? Or enable partition B?

You can try switching the active slots

And how would I do it? Any commands? Because I can not switch to slot B. Error.
I got to the root (/) and ran the command "rm -rf" with the thought that it would renew with the reinstallation of Stock Rom, but it didn't.

There probably is an easier way, but I know with TWRP 3.2.1-1, you are able to change slots (in the GUI). With later versions of TWRP I don't think slot changing worked.

I made a slot change using the fastboot command and then twrp 3.2.1-1, but couldn't. I believe the problem is at the root of the cell, which considers this mass.

I looked here and the IMEI is 0, so I have no signal. I have to fix IMEI, the rest is working normally.

Do you not have the box? The number should be on that. Also, what about when you enter *#06# on your dialer?

I have the box with IMEI, but I don't know how to put IMEI in the phone. I tried some YouTube tutorials, but to no avail.

I could have sworn the IMEI was chip level and could not be removed. This might sound like a strange question, but have you tried just doing a factory flash? It might just re-write the number from the chip to the appropriate destination.

I have tried several Stocks Roms and none worked.

I saw on the internet that Stock Rom only works on the sdcard part, the system part. My problem is in the "/" folder, I need to repair this folder.
If anyone can back up this folder and send me kkkkkkk

Yes. But during the process of choosing device model and version says it is not supported. I'm already running out of alternative.

[Q] [Slim Jelly Bean] No Service

Just Installed Slim Jelly Bean.
It's really nice and totally lag-free and I want to keep it but there's no service, I cannot make/receive calls and sms.
I'm sure I'm not the only one being affected by this issue and I suppose there is already a solution but I cannot find it anywhere.

maybe flashing your old modem back , might do it.
Check your imei number by typing *#06#.
If it is changed to something like 0049... your imei is gone.Only easiest fix is flashing 3files+pit rom will fix it

and then re-flash the custom rom back?
hey
first have u tried toggling aeroplane mode??
and if u have gone back to 2.3.6 check if everything is working there and then flash the rom again...Following the steps carefully...
1. flash back to stock with odin.
2. Notice how gingerbread had re created the imei.
3. Backup /efs
4. Go back to custom ROM
5. Only restore efs if needed.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546 for backing up efs
But now the program no longer runs, it does not recognize the phone with Jelly Bean
Any other methods of restoring efs with the img the program created?
EDIT:
Alright, restored back to Gingerbeard,
Used Nitrality, ES File Explorer Manager and backed up /efs folder
Re-flashed Slim ROM again and went to ClockworkMods recovery file manager, deleted the efs folder and copied the efs folder I had backed up,
Rebooted the phone and nothing changed, the result is the same, could it be that the rom does not support my country (Greece)?
bamp , sorry i really need a solution...
I had the same issue with SlimBean. My solution was to restore DarkyROM Ressurection with repartition via Odin, then flash CM9, then SlimBean.
Everything was working good after these steps.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
was this ever resolved? i had a similar situation after trying some early-early JBs. I tried several ways to restore /efs and none stuck across a reboot.
Also: when flashing any other rom or zipped kernel, did your installation abort? Absolutely anything hangs up on a /tmp/updater.sh, if I'm using CWM 3.* or 5.* I did manage to flash the latest Semaphore JB kernel by Heimdall; wiped everything and restore that nandroid, but then I was in a succession of reboots straight to recovery. Even on different kernels -- Devil3 with /datadata or back to Sema 2.7.4 to get back to stock or flash from there to THS CM9 nightly.
I'd guess these things are related, for me, or I just wrecked a whole lot and good.
Why cant I get this to work :-/

2) when did you flash the slim bean?
Solution:- Reason is you had Jumped from GB to JB (should be on ICS before JB), so now you need to
1) Download Root Explorer from Play Store and use it to
2) Search your internal SD card for sdcard/backup/efs
3) Copy nv_data.bin, nv_data.bin.md5 and nv.log paste them into /efs in your Phone memory
4) Reboot to get back your original IMEI
or
you can start from the beginning.. go back to GB 2.36 (use a JVU ROM + Root, upgrade to ICS CM 9 and than to CM10

ok so when I pasted the 2 data file into /efs on the phone memory I noticed there was already 2 in there so when I pasted it pasted them at nv_data-Copy.bin and nv_data.bin-Copy.md5. When I did *#06# my IMEI number is still blank?
Should I just do your second option, start from the beginning?
If thats the case im not sure where to get the right ROM + root from? Im really sorry if I am frustrating you :-/.

Nope, you need to overwrite those files, meaning delete the ones inside and paste the ones from the backup.

Need the data/data/com.android.nfc folder, sub folder, contents

Did a stupid thing, removed NFC via titanium backup. Restore borks it, probably doesn't fix SE status, or owner, or permissions, or SOMETHING. Or the symbolic link lib in the sub directory is broken upon restore. Don't know.
So how do I restore just this folder and it's contents to how it should be, symlinks, permissions, ownership, etc and all?

probably be your safest course of action. Might as well get the newest marshmallow one while you're at it. That data folder should rebuild itself when you get the system app properly reinstalled.
If you do upgrade to marshmallow don't forget to flash the new bootloader, radio, and boot.img too.

Funny thing, didn't know TWRP could restore specific parts of a nandroid backup, so while I was heading in to make another backup before doing this I saw that it was asking my for check boxes on what to back up, that prompted me to go into the restore backup area and lo and behold, it prompts what to restore... so i just restored system, now I have NFC functional.
After SO much time wasted on extracting stuff all i had to do was remember to look at the TWRP restore function... UGH. Thanks anyway, everything is working now.
@toastgodsupreme,
You didn't waste your time. Consider it a learning experience

Imei Problem

Hey guys, I need some help here... I've flashed my R1HD and selected the format all + download option , obviously I bricked my phone,:silly: finally I could bring it back to live (with the preloader of the 6.6 version and the files of the 6.4 version) but in the process the IMEIS were erased and I haven't been able to restore them. I've tried 8 different methods and still they're null so if anyone knows a method that actually works in this especific model (tasted) or send me a twrp back up of your system to check I'm not missing some file... I would be Thankfull. :fingers-crossed:

You have already made pretty big mistake, imo. You used preloader from 6.6. So now you will no longer be able to use sp flashtool. But your choice. Here is what I have for imei

Oh so you didn't use preloader from 6.6 maybe the 6.6 safe rom preloader then. Either way that's good that it works with spft.
I tested with it and did two walk through with people who did format all. They both said now there eimi problem was solved. I was able to make my imei show as different numbers but my db file wasn't formated like there's. That's why I included the device db file.
Also as side note the 7.4. update changes database files again but not the imei. to add band 12

Which is the correct firmware for the US S3/522 for this list?

I went to codeworks page:
There are 4 files for the x522 in firmware and 4 in modems. I am assuming the "19s" firmware is for India so is the "20s" for the US?
But the 4 files in the modem section is confusing, which one/one's are for the US model x522? here is the link for the modems https://host.llamasweet.tech/codeworkx/lineage/s2/

it certainty restores boot. not sure about modem, I never touched it. you have nothing to loose flashing it. it supposed to be bone stock. just delete two lines in the script and re-save zip. you have to do wipe, wipe data, then mount, copy zip, flash, reboot. in that order, I wasted hours today finding out that order is required. otherwise, it won't load.

The original question is still unanswered about which one is the correct firmware for the US model amng the firmware provided by codeworks, hopefully someone knows that and will share in interest of others that might have the same problem.

Share twrp backup of persist and efs?

anyone want to pm me a backup of stock persist and efs by chance? Im aware of all hazards and cautions that go with it. XT1806 Retus. 64gb if possible.
I believe using someone's EFS or persist won't work because it's tied to their phones IMEI which is specific to each phone. But I could be wrong, it's a good experiment if you got nothing to lose. Minimum would be no wifi or mobile internet and gps and bluetooth

You can get your IMEI back by reflashing stock ROM, does it display IMEI 0(zero) ? The phone needs the IMEI to be able to get service. You fix the IMEI, you get the service back.
Are you on the latest firmware update?
you know what, flash a custom rom and you probably will get back network signals.
