Guys, found a way to enable Electronic Image Stabilisation in the default app. This is how.
1) Open the stock camera app
2) Click on settings
3) Go down to red eye reduction and tap on it until a notification comes up saying something on the lines of you are entering additional settings.
4) Switch to video mode
5) Make sure you are shooting at less than 4k.
6) You may now toggle the Image Stabilization option in the settings.
Let me know actual effect while shooting a video
Yes It Does Work There Is A Way To Developer Mode And In Video Settings There Is A Option To Unable EIS
It works
The video is now less shaky than before
Yes it is worked just tap many time on red eye reduction option
Thank you for your research and sharing. It works I confirm. Switch to rear camera, tap and hold red eye reduction for 3 to 5 seconds, when you lift your finger there will be a toast saying developer settings enabled, switch to video recorder, head to settings again there will be an option now for image stabilization.
Just one question to thread maker, how on earth you found out this?

Frankly, happened to find about the hidden settings on another forum; but found the EIS setting disabled as I had set 4K as my camera's default video shoot resolution. At my end I only accidentally stumbled upon the 1080p setting to enable the EIS flag. Hence the first line that says found a way to make EIS work rather than found the settings.
anybody notice zoom in camera (video recording)

Yes there is Zoom in EIS mode vs non EIS mode.
In hindsight may be Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's stock camera is limited to video capture at 1080p for the same reason that our phone supports EIS till 1080p; while Xiaomi also advertises that RN5 Pro supports EIS officially.
Its a different thing that other apps have vidoe capture at 4K with EIS functional for some unknown reason in RN5 Pro..
I tried this. Now I want to go back to the stock camera and disable this camera developer mode. How can I do it? , Please help. Please!

Try deleting data of the camera app, it will reset it to its factory install state
It works much better now.
Thanks

First of all thank you sir for the providing us with useful tweak :good: but sir as normal person who's not that much into tweaking camera settings manually it's of not that much use to a person like me who likes to rely on 'Auto Mode' moreover I don't know how to use these things, coming to the point "is there any way to turn off the camera developer options (API 2) and get back to normal mode ? "
I confirm that this works for EU phone too. At least for mine.
Did anyone notice ?
once you enter camera developer mode, for each capture two photos are being saved ?
one is normal and one with tag debug !
any way to fix it ?
Unlock or rooted device is needed
1)install buildprop from playstore
2) now add these line save and then restart your device
Command : sys.display-size=3840x2160
Note : 3840x2160 here after 3840 this is not into (×) its small x (x letter)
3) after restart open YouTube and check for quality it will be changed

Like I said, the screen is not a 4K resolution screen, therefore even if u set the video to 4K, you're watching a 1080p video whilst putting ur CPU under extra loads

Fool's logic....support @SleepingAran s post. You are repeating a Microsoft error message text/post....technically correct information but totally useless to the customer, just like a bicycle for a fish.

Beats me?
Our screen do not have 4K resolution that's a fact. So even if u enabled it, you can't see 4K, and putting extra working on CPU for nothing.
Hi, I just bought a new note 9, and everything is fine except a few glitches and the biggest pain in the ass, the YouTube app. I've tried changing the phone resolution settings, going back to default setting and resetting the phone , but I'm unable to get more number of options in the YouTube app than 144, 360 and 720. Even 480 is not available for some reason
Please help.

I'm not a big YouTuber but I have noticed certain videos only let you select certain resolutions. My guess is it depends on the aspect ratio and quality and resolution of the original video. That's only my guess but on my Note 9 Snapdragon 6GB/128GB model using the stock YouTube application certain videos only allow me to select certain resolutions.
Try a video you are sure should be available at a higher res if you Havnt. Search 1080p test video on YouTube. If it won't work change phone res to max & retry then. Last of all check in developer menu and set "minimum width" to 411 and keep phone display at max then try. If not I'm lost. Give us as much info as you can. Maybe clear YouTube data & cache then try again, this will set YouTube back to factory/new state.
I'm able to get 144, 240, 360, 480, 720, 1080, and 1440. Stock AT&T Note 9, using max screen resolution.

Thank a lot man! The developers option trick worked like a charm
Hi, In the camera settings I can't lock the video to be 4K 60 fps, it lately just switch back to 30 fps and it is really frustrating. Do you know I can report this problem to Realme or solution to stick to 60 fps? Thanks!
I tested on mine and it does lock 4K with 60 fps, but not when you have video stabilisation on.
It will automatically switch back to 1080p. I can't seem to replicate your problem. Perhaps you can test it with another app (most people like GCam as an alternative) and see if it is just in the default app doing that.
Also, which version of the phone are you using, CN or EU? And are you on the latest ColourOS (XXXX11_A.12)?

It's stay on 60 fps for awhile but like after some time. Maybe they kill all camera activities it switch to 4K 30fps. Yeah, I want to use default camera. GCam is good for photo, but the video is trash. I have EU, latest is A.12?? Can you give me link? I only know that the last one is https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update RMX1931EX_11_A.07.
Thanks for reply btw.
I have the exact same problem, I think it is a China ROM problem. I think a bought a beautiful smartphone, but China rom sucks.
Well, I have eu version. So, it's not only cn problem. But I believe they will fix it in Coloros 7.
Hello Everyone,
A few days ago, I purchased the Redmi Note10s, which worked very fine in every aspect of the smartphone, but I've found issues of video rendering in apps like YouTube and others even in 1080P.
But The Strange thing is that while playing the same video on the youtube website using Firefox browser it renders perfectly and Amazing.
Below I've attached the screenshot of the same video playing in those two different apps.
YOUTUBE:
As You'll see below the SS of the YouTube Sample is Over sharped and isn't pleasing to the eyes
FIREFOX:
In the samples of Firefox, it renders the way we want with perfect colours and sharpening.
Is this problem with Software or GPU rendering, I don't know. If anyone having this phone please share your opinions or thoughts on this, and also let me know if anyone facing the same issue.
P.S: this is my first post on XDA community, hoping XDA community will help with this problem.
i have the same issue ... i sent it to mi store to check it up for a few days and they said it was alright ...
i also checked another note 10 s device in the store .. it has the same issue
the issue exist in youtube and google chrome ....
not sure if its a software issue that will be fixed or bad qc
since u posted 20 days ago .. did u do anything about this issue ?
I have come across the thing called video decoding, which is done mainly by GPU or processor. In our phone, a MediaTek processor is used which is using a technology called MiraVision to render the HDR video which causing the issue while playing video in lower quality like 480P. Some solutions I found on Reddit is saying to disable the hardware overlays to solve the issue, as this problem already faced by redmi note 8 users. But didn't solve our issue.
But idk why I'm used to this as video of 720P is much sharper and feels good now
i kinda like it although it might have to do something with miravision
best is to ask people using realme 7 and redmi note 8

It maybe an issue with MiUI's VP9 renderer (VP9 is a new codec developed by Google as a free alternative to HEVC ,or H265).
The codec is used by default by YouTube since it offers higher compression compared to previously used H264 codec (AVC).
The codec is all fine, and it is absolutely recommended to use it since it offers better clarity and saves data at the same time.
The problem is with MiUI's VP9 rendering algorithm which is over-sharpening the video. I suggest you to contact Xiaomi to fix the issue, and disable VP9 in YouTube Vanced for time being.
If the above solution didn't work, you may try changing the decoder in MX Player [Try all 3 decoders - HW, HW+, and SW.]
If you don't observe any changes, use the mx_aio custom codec.

change "ro.vendor.mtk_pq_support" from 2 to 0 (in Vendor/Build.prop)

I also have the same problem on JMGO O1 projector. Every time I play another video I have to go into settings and adjust the sharpness, from 0 to 1 then back to 0.
