K20 Pro Global keeps booting to TWRP - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hey guys
I've been playing around with my K20 Pro, but I just came across a problem. This is what happened:
- I flashed Havoc 2.8 as my first ROM, all went pretty swell.
- After having problems with the camera app and FP unlock, I decided to flash LineageOS 17, which required me to install a different firmware, and so I did, all went smoothly again
- LOS 17 is still a bit premature for my taste, so I decided to try going back to stock. I downloaded the stock firmware for Android 9.0 and the stock MIUI 10 ROM for the K20 Pro Global which is the one I have, not a Mi 9T Pro
- I flashed both things, phone now keeps booting into recovery, no matter how many times I flashed the stock fw and ROM and wiped the phone
So now, what do I do? Did I mess up somewhere? If so, enlighten me so I can learn.
Is this solvable? I don't want to have a bricked phone like this after 1 month of use xD
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: This has already been solved ^^

The issue is you want to rollback from Android 10 -> 9.
I'm also having this issue.

Have you tried to flash .tgz stock image though miflash tool?

I had something similar yesterday, I'm assuming you can still get into fastboot, so you need to use MiFlash to flash MiUi, be careful not to select 'clean and lock' as this will lock your bootloader and probably brick the device if it's going to a different ROM from stock.
You need to get MiUi in a tar format and flash that in MiFlash.

No I have not. What should I do? Wipe and then install that? Or do I need to install firmware before flashing the .tgz?

Exactly what @monstermuffin20 said.
Download fastboot rom (.tgz file), could be global rom, extract it to a folder. Open miflash tool, locate path. Select "clean all" on bottom and right side options. DO NOT SELECT "clean all and lock" as it will brick your device.

I'm sure flashing the full ROM is enough, just make sure you UNCHECK the CLEAN ALL AND LOCK option. So go into fastboot mode and extract the tgz file, you may have to extract twice.

Well, I did not uncheck the clean all and lock the first try... After a while I realized and canceled it. It did not finish AFAIK. But now I'm attempting clean all and it's been about half an hour and it's still not flashed. Oh boy

30 mins is actually a lot and I don't think that's normal, my flashing was going to 700secs max which is 12 mins max. Check if your phone still reads UNLOCKED

I just went to recovery and flashed the 10.0 firmware and the LOS 17 and it booted. So I guess it's not bricked
And yes, it still says Unlocked.
So, how do I go about flashing back to stock MIUI with Android 9? xD

Try it again with Miflash tool, make sure you select CLEAN ALL. I flashed almost 10 times last Sunday and all the times 700 seconds is enough.

As long as it shows: "unlocked" when you turn it on, it definitely not bricked.
1) Download this rom: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.3.3.0....FKINXM_20190711.0000.00_9.0_in_a1c0a15dec.tgz
2) Extrat, select path on miflash tool
3) Put your device in fastboot mode
3) MAKE SURE YOU SELECTED "CLEAN ALL" ONLY
4) MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that "CLEAN ALL" is marked
5) Click "FLASH"
6) It will end in around 600 seconds, with an error (checkpoint error), don't worry, it's normal...
As I see you have chinese k20 pro and don't really want to use miui (as you've been flashing aosp roms), but start to realise that you will have to deal with it for a while, i would recomend to flash chinese rom, just in case, and then xiaomi.eu rom... it's the better way to live with miui.

You cannot flash .zip files through miflash tool... Fastboot rom must be .tgz
Why don't you try this one: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.3.8.0....FKCNXM_20190601.0000.00_9.0_cn_beb2b2a432.tgz
Remember, you must extract files to a folder and point that folder path in miflash tool...
Ah, ans just check file after download, that thing gets errors frequently...

However, I've managed to flash OrangeFox recovery and install a MIUI ROM (miui_RAPHAELGlobal_V10.3.2.0.PFKMIXM_55396ac730_9.0), but on the setup Find Device keeps crashing and the screen keeps turning on and off. I'm going to try to flash a different one, idk.

Going back to MIUI global from LineageOS

I like LOS, clean and fast, but now I want to go back to official Global Rom with no root etc (basically, going back to stock, how you got it first time).
Anyone can point me to the right direction?
Do I just follow the Fastboot method found here: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html ?
Just don't want to brick my phone.
Thank you

I assume you got TWRP installed.
1. Download latest ROM here
2. Put in your phone or /sdcard/download
3. Boot to TWRP
4. Wipe everything EXCEPT /sdcard or something in the internal
5. Install/flash ZIP then choose the ROM in /sdcard/download
6. It is going to take quite a long time due to you're flashing about 1.3GB zip file
7. Reboot
8. You will notice that the TWRP is gone, so bootloader back to stock
9. After phone set-up, try to clean format again from the phone's setting
10. Done
If you want to lock back the phone, use:
fastboot oem lock
Then everything goes back to normal. Hope this helps.

I faced something like this...stock rom was not flashing...some error shows up... someone told me to change the fastboot rom file directory...i copied the rom to my desktop...thn it worked...i don't know if it would help...but why not give it a try
Thanks to everybody who gave their advice here. For me, it was a PC problem (or adb driver problem). I factory reset my PC cause I have cloud backup, and started the process clean. From there, I only downloaded Minimal ADB and Fastboot. Then I tried MiFlash, and the flashing process went through without any errors this time.
Hello,
I have the same problem, screen stuck on Fastboot.
It happened after having cleared up too much with TWRP.
I can't figure out how to flash back the original rom.
I see lot of tutorials and roms but nothing really clear.
I downloaded Mi Flash Pro.
Questions:
- Where can I find the last official rom for Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro / Redmi K20 Pro? (for European Union)
- How can I use Mi Flash Pro to re-install it back?
Thanks a lot for your help

Here: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/
Search for your phone with K20 Pro or Mi 9T pro and download with the region you have whichever you have although it doesn't make a difference as long as you keep bootloader open. Only difference is Call app and NFC.
AGAIN: UNCHECK THE CLEAN ALL AND LOCK OPTION BY CLICKING ON "CLEAN ALL" ONLY.
If you don't know how to flash using flashtool or setting up flashtool search for guides there's plenty.

Get the fastboot ROM from here
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/supported/miui/
Choose the fastboot ROM for the phone you have (Chinese, Indian, European, Global)
Use this guide to flash it
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
View the page in desktop mode if viewing on a phone.
In step 5 change the flash option to 'clean all' before hitting flash.
You normally only need to wipe data, cache and dalvik (This is what factory reset wipes in TWRP) at most. It's very rare you'll need to wipe anything more. Don't wipe anything else in TWRP, unless you know you're about to flash something that will replace what you wipe. If you are flashing something and you don't know all that it will install, don't wipe anything more than a factory reset.
It's ok, just flash the vb_meta file. reflash twrp and you'll be in recovery again. flash vendor and reboot recovery.
The problem arose cause you wiped the vendor. Next time don't do that. (unless you are using oss rom)
Guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/simple-beginners-guide-to-raphaelin-t4020543
follow the STUCK IN FASTBOOT FIX
I'm assuming your error is error 7?
just follow ERROR 7 FIX and you'll be fine
TLDR: reboot without vendor caused issue. Use ofox 10.6

Which MIUI ROM I can flash ???

Hi,
I was using PE+.
decided to try Masik 16.1 MIUI 12
flashed and booted successfully.
Then tried to disable system apps in Masik ROM, and disabled Security app too !!!
after that settings was crashing every time !
so tried to install MIUI Global 12.0.2 using platform-tools folder method ( flash_all.bat )
after double clicking flash_all.bat file it shows me error in cmd like ,
"Current device antirollback version is greater than this package"
"antirollback check pass"
"Mismatching Image and device"
and cmd closes automatically.
flashed PE+ again
what precautions should I take from now if I want to flash MIUI ROM again ??
Thanks

ummm...
don't know,
I made necessary changes in ZIP file
means, changed codeName in updater-script file so it wont give me that "codename = rephael" error...
I disabled security app in Masik then this all happened !
Zip file...?? It should be a .tar then extract it, another compressed file, extract that and you should get a normal folder. Then you select that folder with the mi flash tool
Edit: also never disable security app on miui, no matter the rom

If you ever want to switch back to miui I recommend sticking to custom miui versions, mortal os for example should be debloated as is. Just don't remove anything else or if you do use the ADB debloat tool as it has got a safe list of apps you can remove without damage

no.. I didn't remove anything from extracted ZIP file...
I just changed device codeName in updater-script file, from "raphael" to "raphaelin" so I can flash it through recovery.

I think I will stick to Custom ROMs !!! Exo-X or PE+

Hi recently I tried to install TWRP on my xiaomi 12 pro but instead it made my phone stuck on fastboot, I used mi flash to flash it to the normal rom but it said something about it being not supported so I picked wipe date on the phone and tried to install a different version but, now apparently the phone is locked and I do not know how to unlock it to flash it again. any help will be appreciated please.
Things I've tried
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flashing unlock
Mi flash - I cant flash because the device is locked and I have not logged in with a Mi account.

Which version?
So as not to make the same mistake again if we manage to save the phone.
Which TWRP and which command.
For Miflash you have probably left the flash and lock box checked.
If you could post the Miflash log (Miflash log folder)
I used this guide to install twrp
I put global rom instead of europe rom which came with my phone
I do have another xiaomi device I was wondering it I could somehow transfer the account to my bricked phone then flash it that way

Is the version of your phone Chinese with a Xiaomi EU rom?
I bought it from Here
It says in the description that 'The initial Chinese version has been updated to a global ROM.'
so I'm not sure when I got it I checked the rom and it said the Europe version I tried to update the version but when it was ready to install it said 'your device supports twrp' and I clicked ok to the instructions and when the device booted back up it was in recovery mode and I pressed restart and no updates were made.

It is a Chinese version.
post the Miflash log (Miflash log folder) so I can check what you did.
The log is between 20 and 25 KB and starts like this
[23:28:45 eeab043a]:MiFlash 2020.3.14.0
[23:28:45 eeab043a]:vboytest index:1
[23:28:45 eeab043a]:idproduct: 53261 idvendor: 6353
I think I deleted the one that I used I was on my i've just given up after hours of trying to fix it

As you have on my tutorial, this is the mistake not to do with a Chinese device.
Now to be sure, flash a Chinese rom with Miflash by checking the Clean all box.
Either the phone works again or not, Miflash will give you the error, surely 'lock state'
yes it says failed remote: erase is not allowed in lock state, im trying to get out of that mode I need help with that
