I have tried this a couple of time, Odin runs as admin. Any suggestions? At the moment I cannot boot to recovery (Pwr + Vol UP + Home does nothing) and if I try to boot to the OS I get

Update: while investigating the "FAIL! (Auth)" part of the message I read that Sammy does not let you install firmware that is older than the original firmware on the pad. So I tried XAR-T713XXU2BSA1-20190314170324 instead and it worked, but not the tab gets suck at the pulsating Sammy logo. The recommendation is to reboot to recovery and do a wipe/factory reset but I can't seem to get either the power button alone, or home + power + volume up to work. The only thing that seems to work is Power + home + volume down to get to fastboot. Argh!
After the firmware is flashed the Android logo and blue screen come up, it says "installing system update", gets to about 12%, then "erasing..." for a few seconds, then reboots to system, and gets stuck on the pulsating Samsung logo. Suggestions? I have tried re-flashing several times, and it is always the same song and dance.
Have tired half a dozen ROMs from various sources: XAR-T713XXU2APK6-20170109153313, SM-T713_1_20180216210827_n6ema2bn6h, XAR-T713XXU2BSA1-20190314170324, T713XXU2APJ1_T713XAR2APJ1_XAR, XAR-T713XXU1APD9-20160510111333. With the exception of the latter they all flash with Odin without issues but then the device goes into a bootloop. An initial blue screen appears that says "Installing system update", but that gets only till about 35% after which it switches to message "erasing" and the tab goes into a reboot only to get stuck on the pulsating "Samsung" screen. I have tried erasing NAND, flashing TWRN, and what not, to no avail. I can't get into recovery and the power button does not work either. Would be grateful any suggestions, otherwise this is going to the ewaste bin.

The one I used the last few times I needed returned to stock has the same date as one of yours (20180206) but a different name both in the original XAR zip (XAR-T713XXU2BRB2_T713XAR2BRB2-20180206) and the extracted .tar (T713XXU2BRB2_T713XAR2BRB2_HOME.tar). I do not remember what site I got it from, but it took about a half day to download.. That was probably about a year ago. If you have somewhere that I can upload it to, I can put a copy of one or both there. Otherwise, you can at least search Google by name of a known working file.

Thanks, I found the file on samsung-firmware.org. Says it will take 3 hrs to download. At this point I am not too hopeful, but will give it a go. Thank you for the tip!
P.S. For completeness sake, the link to this file is https://samsung-firmware.org/download/GALAXY__Tab__S2__/45bx/XAR/T713XXU2BRB2/T713XAR2BRB2/

Good luck.
Alas the behavior of this known good ROM is identical to every other one I have tried - the system update proceeds till about the 35% mark, then it switches to a message "Erasing" after which the tab reboots and gets stuck on the pulsating Samsung logo. I guess it is going to the ewaste bin.
Edit: finally successful in getting past the Samsung logo. Per instructions from another thread got into recovery, wiped data and cache. That did not resolve the issue on the first try, but after a couple of cycles of flashing firmware and wiping data + cache things all of a sudden started working. Not sure why or how.
One important note that is far from clear online is the process of getting into recovery. It often stated as "press home /vol up/power" which does NOT work. The correct process is
1) press vol dn / power /home
2) as soon as the screen goes black release vol dn and press vol up while continuing to hold the other two buttons

Welcome back in our family.
I bought a New Samsung Galaxy TAB, just two days back, from Amazon.com and was shipped to Washington DC. It's an unlocked version that has no Operator logos on it. It was indeed an awesome thing until I used my magic hands on it only 15 hours after I received.
I had a problem with Arabic Characters; they were disconnected and sometimes reversed. So, I searched over the net for one day and chose to install a ROM from Samfirmware.com. I chose the latest firmware from the table of arabic firmwares. It's P1000JPJM5. (P1000JPJM5 ## P1.PIT Version 2.2 2011 January), so here are the steps that I've gone through:
1. Download the firmware.
2. I use the Odin 1.7 and applied the PIT file first. It finished successfully in 11 seconds.
3. I put the Galaxy tab in the Download mode (decrease volume + Power).
4. I applied the PDA using the Odin 1.7, I chose the TAR file that came with the P1000JPJM5 downloaded file.
5. A light blue indicator started just below the Download logo, the indicator progressed cheerfully, but suddenly stopped. I checked the Odin, and found a "FAILED!" sign. I searched the log, and found the following error:
<ID:0/045> cashe.rfs
<ID:0/045> Modem.bin
<ID:0/045> Complete(Write) Operation failed
<ID:0/045> All threads completed. (Succeed 0/ Failed 1)
attached is a jpg file having the error exactly.
6. Regardless of the warning saying "Don't unplug the target" or whatever it said by that time, and since the application of the firmware stopped, I unplugged the USB cable. I did that after waiting for 20 minutes whereas the Galaxy Tab didn't show any response but that download logo and the non-moving indicator.
7. After I did that, the Galaxy Tab became dead. Whenever I attach it to the computer, it displays a 3 icons screen; a computer, a phone, and a warning triangle with an exclamation mark. I assume that this means that there is an error in the connection between the Tab and the computer.
8. No matter how many times I tried the Download, recovery or any other thing, the phone would only display one of two things, the 3 icons screen that I listed in the previous step, or the Battery screen showing a grey battery.
HELLLLLP!!!!
Regards,
Khatypically.
Go to samfirmware.com download the files for your device.
Select pit file then check repartition - flash
Select pda csc modem, uncheck repartition - flash.
Good luck! If you get any trouble send me a msg. on skype luc_de_mar

Thanks Lucian, This is exactly what I did in the first place. Used Odin 1.7 and applied the PIT file coming with it, then applied the P1000JPJM5 PDA and CSC modem file.
Unless the P1000JPJM5 is not for my device?? How to know?
Lucian, any clue?
My tab is dead after I tried to install an arabic firmware from samfirware.com. I bought my tab originally from the US. Now, I'll download the "suitable" firmware from samfirmware.com as you advised, but How would I ever know the suitable firmware given that my device is exactly this one (that's where I bought)(my devise is dead now and can only display the download mode):
www .amazon. com /GALAXY-TAB-P1000-16GB-UNLOCKED/ dp /B004AKOVIS/ ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1305378100&sr=8-1

I have been searching around forums looking for advice and have been unable to locate a solution so here seems as good a place as any to ask for help. I have an unlocked gtp-1000 that has been running overcome 1.4.5 for last month very nicely until tonight when I thought it would be a good idea to get some gingerbread goodness like I have been using on my nexus one. was going to flash Overcome ROM v2.0.0 BETA 2 and was following guide but only got halfway through flashing stock gingerbread with odin when laptop unexpectedly did a restart for an unknown reason while I was away getting a snack. was unsure whether flashing process had been completed so opened odin again and tried reflashing. couldnt get past
setup connection...
so tried to reboot into download mode and then powered down. now tab is dead. battery was at 80% when it died
before I take back to samsung tomorrow any ideas?
I have plugged into wall charger= nothing
plugged into laptop=nothing and not detected
held power and volume up=nothing
held power and volume down=nothing
held power and volume up & home=nothing
no sounds or anything at all on screen
truly bricked?
Updates:
Hi Guys,
I applied the p1000nubjm2 firmware. I downloaded it from samfirmware. It's the latest P1000L firmware for America/Australia. It failed in the PDA file: P1000NUBJM2_P1000NUBJM2_P1000NUUBJM2_HOME.TAR . I was planning to apply the gingerbread update after that.
Now to the results, As you know, before, I was able to reach the download mode, the startup Galaxy Tab/Samsung screen, and the battery displays when connecting the cable. Now, after application of this lovely firmware and failure, nothing (literally "Nothing") takes place. The device became more dead than it was before . It doesn't display anything and it doesn't respond to power or displays the battery. It became a black $500 cost brick No matter how much time I keep it charging (or what "should be" charging), it would never startup again (sigh!) The ODIN and samsung kies no more recognize the device when connected to the computer.
Any additional clues before I decide to convert it to a teacup base?
Regards,
ARK
Good Day All :
I started up with Odin so i could update the Tab, but the program closed down about 1-2 sec. after. When I tried to turn on the tablet, there was ... no reaction (!)
Tried to go in "download mode", but no reaction or by factory-reset. just black screen ...
i also tried "Recovery Code" (Hold the Vol Down Key + Vol Up Key + Power Key for 15 seconds then release) but its same no reaction.
Can it really be true that I have ended up with a piece of useless plastic?
Pls your help is vevry important
thanks
Do not panic.
Better connect to wall charger for an hour first; then try recovery mode (volume up + power).
Regards
Kongar
thanks for the reply.
it was in the wall charger for an 7 hour . i just try ... nothing happend ...
It sounds like you have stopped it in the middle of loading the bootloaders... That almost the only way to hard brick your tab...
If you can't get it recognised by ODIN then the only thing available is to JTag it. You need to send it in to someone who can do this - look around the general forum, there was someone there doing it - most phone repair places will say it needs motherboard replaced, expensive.
If its still in warranty, you might be able to send back to samsung, tell them it happened while flashing through Kies.... Don't tell them you flashed with ODIN.
Seems like a few people are doing this...
Good Luck...
ok, now after i update the PIT the GT is boteabel but its hange in the startup page GALAXY Tap.
Note : Every time i but the GT in the Dawnloading Mode and try to flash a rom i get faild in kernel stage.

Hi
I bought me a 2nd hand galaxy note yesterday but was on 2.3.6 Ginger minger so this morning proceeded to update to ICS via KIES
stuck on 3% for 10 mins then on 4% reported an error, ever since I have been unable to follow any recovery options
Problem I have now is running Odin 1.85 with "N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_N7000XXLRB_HOME.tar.md5"
I am only able to boot into download mode not recovery but when I connect the USB cable, big fat nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone help me please
PS: I know how tetchy mods can be when you post in wrong section so apologies in advance
Cheers

Nope, and nor do I get the windows noise when you have plugged in a USB device like a mouse or something!!
I have re-installed the Samsung USB drivers twice both times it said they were already installed but I done it anyway
Does this sound fixable? Would a phone shop only try same recovery options that I am trying?
ok, let me get this straight..
you have download mode, no recovery right?
if you boot into download mode, then connect the phone, it doesn't get detected (blank screen) ?? have you tried charging the device then trying to connect again? or simply remove the battery then re-insert?

Does not go blank says "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!"
Battery was full before I started this so I doubt its in need of a charge
Odin does not report any connecting in the Message box, tried on a different PC even installing "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones" but still nothing
So I can asume that the issue with not connecting to Odin is with the phone
Question is.....what is my next move?
Thanks for your help much appreciated

I think it will be a repair as its not a hardware fault I think.
Use ODIN 1.85. Maybe a last try before returning it to Service Centre ?
And don't change any option in ODIN. I think you have changed it.. Maybe I am wrong lol... Just wondering...
try to flash any custom kernel only with odin, not firmware, and if the kernel flashed, try to go to recovery and then full wipe and flash any rom.

How to: BYPASS REACTIVATION LOCK ON THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S5!

Okay, let's start.
Step 1: Find your stock firmware at sammobile.com. This will require you to sign up for a sammobile account. Find THE ANDROID 5.0 FIRMWARE and download it. Unless you have a premium account, download speeds will be slow. Please be patient, as these files are very big.

Links have not been postedd (for the most part) more updates coming soon, but for now, just look it up on SamMobile.
AT&T S5: http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS5/SM-G900A/4.4.2/SM-G900A 4.4.zip
The AT&T file is a higher speed download, thanks to galaxys5root.com. The only available firmware for it is 4.4.2.
Step 2: Download Odin. You can use whichever version that is v3 or above. Other versions may not support your device. To download it, go to odindownload.com
Step 3: Extract Odin and run the odin.exe file as an administrator.
Step 4: Plug in your phone to your computer and boot your phone into download mode. (power off, then press volume down, home button, then power button at the same time.)
Step 5: BE SURE TO EXTRACT YOUR DOWNLOADED STOCK ROM FILE FROM SAMMOBILE! After that, go into Odina nd click PDA (or PA depending on version) and choose your extracted file.
Now, click start with your phone in download mode and plugged into your computer.
Almost done! Now boot up your phone after ODIN says reset or success, and on the first screen there should be accessibility settings. Click on that, and go into vision. Go down to text to speech options. Select Google Text to speech options, making sure it is checked. Click the settings icon next to it. Go into Install Voice Data, and click the three dots at the top, and click open source licenses. Press and hold on the website link, the first one, that starts with http://
Now click the search icon in the top right corner, and MAKE SURE YOU USE THE "INTERNET" BROWSER. Now hit the three dots and go into settings. Go into manage accounts, and click Samsung Account. Log into it with an existing Samsung Account, or make a new one. Once done, and signed in, you can go ALL the way back to the first screen. Now follow the setup steps and when you get to the Samsung Login screen again, log in with the Samsung account that you logged in with in the browser.
Any issues?
-Try redownloading the SAMSUNG USB MOBILE DRIVERS for the Galaxy S5. Do so by looking it up on google. (FOR ODIN PROBLEM) Then retry.
-Accessibility Doesn't show up? Try flashing Android 4.4.4 (risky, use as last resort)
-For more details, go to this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qE9gRhkqPA It will show you the steps after you flashed the stock rom, but it won't show the ODIN part.

Hahah wanted it to be all cheerful and colorful, can you read it? If not I can change it.
lol, yea I can read it, some lighter text is a bit difficult though
A combination of black, bold black, and for important parts, bold red usually works well

If you have older firmware which can use this bypass. Probably on newer ones this is fixed
aaaaand what if the first android release on the phone was 5.1.1...... stupid how my thread got locked and i got sent here after i specified that this won't work for me.... great help xda, just fantastic.
Since odin has changed the way it loads the recovery file... you may want to change your instructions to include how we need to load BL, AP, CP, and CSC instead of PDA
on a side note, I cant get mine to even install. keep getting SW REV CHECK FAIL : (aboot)Fused 4 > Binary 1 on screen and it fails in odin.

Ok managed to flash 5.1.1 firmware but still stuck with frp.
I ran a settings otg apk and try to add my samsung account clicking add account then selecting samsung account... But pressing samsung account does nothing for me when it should prompt for my log in credentials. Im stumped at this point. And in security settings the recovery lock is listed as off.
Do i need to reflash the orriginal lolipop firmware again and try disabling tye recovery lock that way? Ive also read that downgrading to kitkat firmware may be a beter idea since kitkat has some options that wetnt patched till lolli...
Any advise appreciated.
Thanks.
Background, Symptoms and Repair Attempts
My significant other's I9305 spontaneously died. The phone is fully stock, non-rooted. Was never custom-flashed.
It was working with no apparent problems, then one night we left it (turned on) to recharge overnight, as we usually do, and found it boot-looping in the morning.
"Boot-looping": repeatedly showing "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen for about 4 seconds, then restarts (screen goes black for about 3 seconds, then "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen shows again, infinitely repeating).
The boot-loop prevents access to recovery mode or to the main OS.
"Charge mode" is working - when phone is turned off, it shows charge animation when connected to power source (with battery level rising as charging progresses).
Download mode itself is accessible, and phone remains in it until I force it to end. Text shown on top of download mode screen:
Code:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9305
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
However, actual flashing is apparently impossible. I tried several times using Odin v3.09 to flash 2 different stock images:
I9305XXBME3_I9305DBTBMF1_I9305XXBME1 (Stock 4.1.2)
I9305XXUFNL1_I9305DBTFNL1_I9305XXUFOA1 (Stock 4.4.4)
In all my flashing attempts I had only "AP", "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" checkboxes checked, and the rest unchecked.
All attempts failed (with a red "FAIL!" on the top-left of the window) within 2-3 seconds after clicking the "Start" button. Odin's message log for such an attempt is as follows:
Code:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> I9305XXBME3_I9305DBTBMF1_I9305XXBME1_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

I also tried using Odin to flash 2 different custom recovery images:
openrecovery-twrp-3.0.2-1-i9305-F2FS
CWM_touch_6.0.4.7_i9305
Attempts to flash these failed in the exact same way as the stock images did (as described above).
Despite all my (failed) flashing attempts, all symptoms remained unchanged (boot loops, no recovery, only download mode and charge mode working).
Questions
I'd really appreciate any tips, advice, or answers to the following questions:
Are these symptoms indicating a problem with the eMMC chip?
Is there any possible repair other than replacing the eMMC chip? Is there any chance for repair using a dedicated JTAG/eMMC tool?
Am I supposed to be able to salvage at least part of the data on the eMMC chip using an SD reader and an SD adapter soldered to the motherboard (e.g. in a manner similar to the process described here)?
Am I supposed to be able to salvage at least part of the data on the eMMC chip using a dedicated JTAG/eMMC tool? Would I be able to extract more data with such a tool than I would be able to extract using the soldered SD adapter and reader?
Many thanks in advance for your time and help efforts!
EMMC Brickbug claims another i930x device. Unfortunately, all the partitions after a certain area are useless because some defects in a batch of EMMCs. i9300 has had it for some time, but i didn't know that i9305 could have a part of the faulty lot that kneeled the i9300. You may be lucky enough, depending in what country you live, to find and go to a very good smartphone repair shop and get the EMMC replaced by some people that actually know what they are doing. Or, if you have money, skills and time to spare, replace it yourself, but you'd need to take some precautions to not f it up. (i.e. place some thick metal piece over the modem to not heat it up, and to not apply too much temperature to the board to damage it.)
