Hello,
Since the last Update (global Rom) my mi9 can't connect to my WiFi, neither 2,4 GHz nor 5ghz. Has anyone else figured the same Problem or is it just me? It just says connecting and stops then.
I have the same issue but just with one router (Vodafone). Any other router connects perfect. Did factory reset on both, didn't help. Tried static ip, didn't work. I guess your router has the same problem as mine: it can't handle the changing Mac address of Android 10. Workaround for me now is to restart the phone and voila it connects.
As soon as I can get a new router I will change it.
Had the same issue. I had to put my phone ip and mac address in address reservation option in my router and now working as have to be

My wifi router is old. It's running with 802.11b. My TD can connect to the router. It gets IP, but cannot access to the Internet. When I use my TD to connect to other network which is running on 802.11g, it works fine. Do you have any idea? I am using ROM 1.93.456.2.
I do not think it is the 11b issue. Since the TD can get the IP address with the 11b router. It means the wireless link is fine. Please check your route configuration. Especially the default gateway and the DNS settings.
My laptop is working fine with the router. One more thing is that although TD has IP, when I try to connect to http://192.168.1.1, it just does not work.

What are your other setting? Connected through internet or work and so on?
When you setup the connection on the TD, make sure to use the "internet" option. Proxy should be disbled unless you have proxy set on your home router.
Also on your laptop, try to ping the TD. It should work at the first place.
I set to connect to The Internet on TD. And when I ping, the IP of TD cannot be reached.
Hello
My N1 can connect easily to all kind of wifi routers and modems without problem but not with my fitness club's one, they have a Linksys N160.
My N1 can detect the signal, enter the password but then it's stucked with the message ''getting ip...''
Where is the problem? is it a know hardware or software compatibility stuff?
Sometimes rebooting the wifi router helps. Also make sure that when the guy over at your fitness club reboots the router you don't have the wifi of the club saved. delete the saved wifi profile, reboot the wifi router and then try. Cheers.
Already tried it several times. I saw that OS4 of iphone/ipod have the same problem with router enabling Wireless-N, I will ask him to limit the router to B/G
I also had similar problem with Linksys WAG54G2 (at latest firmware). Then I changed to much cheaper adsl router, TP-LINK WD-W8960N and no more connection problem.

I had problems using my Nexus One on my SMC Barricade 802.11b/g/n router when 802.11n was enabled. Turned it off; problems were gone. I don't think that works well yet, though some people have said otherwise. Could be a router-specific issue.
Ok so it's a WAG160N to be specific.
He tried to use mixed B/G instead of mixed (which would imply N too) but it still stuck at getting ip...
I told him to throw this router in the garbage because anyway SE and HP mobiles can't connect too,but he said he would do it but his boss will never accept to pay a penny more
My parents had a router that did exactly the same, my phone got stuck on Obtaining IP, whilst the missus 5800 connected and broswed just fine.
It was a crappy old thing and they replaced it the other week, now I can connect and browse just fine.
I also use a linksys WAG160N.
bought a nexus one, could not for the life of me get an internet connection.
turns out dns on router is poofed, so i just set DNS from my isp manually on the nexus one together with a static ip and booya interent at full 802.11n speeds.
sometimes its the simple things.
This sounds similar to when I set my router to channel 13 or whatever the max was on it. My N1 would only sometimes get a connection, but would eventually drop it and stay off. Solved it by selecting a lower channel (WifiAnalyzer suggesten channel 1 as the best alternative to channel max) on the AP.
I can see that in CM6 nightly that I have since started using I can choose regulatory domain, and thereby open up channels previously blocked. If you can't change anything on the AP this might help you solve the problem on your end.
So suggestions if none of the posts above me provide a solution is to run WifiAnalyzer and see how the channel-graph looks.
So, basically, I got my note yesterday (wooo ) and i wanted to connect it to my wifi, which with previous phones has not been an issue and is not an issue for any other device in the house.
It keeps saying Authenticating ----> Disconnecting -----> Disabled.
I am unsure whether it is the router or the phone.
any help is appreciated!
thanks
Oliver
what encryption you using on the router? are you using 2.4ghz of 5ghz ? made sure the password is correct?
mine connects without any issue to my superhub
i am using 2.4ghz and the password is correct...
what encryption?
what channel is it broadcasting on?
WPA auto and im not sure what channel, sorry.
its on to auto seek the best channel
got any other wireless devices to test?
might want to set it to wpa2 and change the password on the router then try connecting again
Cheers! changing to wpa2 has let me connect =D
Hello
since installing 3.4 I have had issues with this rom however none so serious I jumped ship however I have problems with conecting to my home wifi which is causing pain...
I have set up wifi on my note as dhcp and my netgear router is also set to give ip address via dhcp however the note will only connect sometimes otherwise the message 'obtaing ip address' is shown then the connection drops to remembered and then Im back on 3G. I have tried various fixes including re-flashing the rom providing a static ip address. I have this issue with any dhcp network the note just will not connect all the time...

It happen even on stock to me mate. What I do is turn off wifi,go to browser and navigate to any site(yeah with wifi turned off still and data network off),when it gives you error turn on wifi and refresh the page.
I know its irritating but I have no solution and it works for me
still trying to find a solution to this. setting wifi sleep policy to Never seems to help I also deleted the dhcp_list file which forces the note to reconnect from scratch each time it connects to a known network rather than selecting it from the list. still not a full fix. seems to be a samsung thing rather than rom based. do the modem downloads available control the wifi functions or are they just for radio 3g etc as I will try a different modem to see if that helps.....

I got my E4 Plus yesterday and I couldn't find any way at all to get the phone to connect to my wireless router (TP-Link TL-WR1043ND with DD-WRT) when it's set to N-Only.
When I google the issue not many links about it but I read another user with the same issue so if I set the router to NG-Mixed or Mixed the phone connects without any issue at all. If it's set on N-Only there's no chance in hell it's gonna connect.
Even when I updated the router firmware with the latest DD-WRT it didn't work. The only device that have this issue. So I don't have a clue how to fix it.
