u must enable the Setting >> Connection >> Beam >> Recieve All Incoming Beam if u want to recieve/send file natively.
note: enable this also enable you to send file from builtin filemanager (Beam file, and choose bt)
but, I suggest u to unmark it if u dont send/recieve file frequently, cos it will effect battery life.
okay now I understand
thanks a lot
I have a SGS phone and a Chinese tablet, the both have CM9 4.0.4 roms with wi-fi direct features..
But, wi-fi direct file sharing NOT possible..
Acc to the below info After the both android device's wi-fi direct is enabled, configured and connected each other, a file transfer is supposed to be done share/ via wi-fi.
But when I select a file and wanted to share, it does not appear "via wi-fi" option under share despite several trys with several file managers / explorers....
Why ? Can anyone manage?
"Step VI: After the connection is successful, you should try to transfer a file through Wi-Fi Direct, for this either you go to your file manager or gallery. Choose any file and click on ‘share via’ and choose ‘Wi-Fi’. It will directly start sending the selected file to the connected device."
Sorry to post here, i'm newbie on this forum so can't submit on XZ dev forum... (hope is the right place).
Installed eXistenZ ultra 3.0.0 after full wipe then 3.1.5 on OTA.
Very Great ROM but I have a wifi issue (that seems common to all ROM based on indian 201 pre-rooted i tried) :
my MAC address changed from B4:XX:XX:XX:XX:CA (own original one) to 18:00:2D:38:EE:C9 (forced by ROM ?)
This forced MAC is the same on each IN201 based ROM i tried and seems to be the same for many XSP using these ROMs.
Is there a way to fix that (that could be a major security issue in some places) ? Tried to delete/recreate some symlinks to mac_addrX but no effects and i'm not enought skilled to go much further...
Tried to search on the forum but was not lucky...
Any help or advice is welcome... thx in advance

Hi Rems38,
Did you find a solution to this problem?
I am having the exact same problem with an Android v4.3 ROM (a pre-rooted ROM but as far as i know not the eXistenZ ultra 3.0.0) i used to upgrade my Xperia SP from android v4.12 to Android v4.3.
The mac address you mentioned in your post is the exact same mac address that i have now i.e.
18:00:2D:38:EE:C9
However if i use the service menu on the xperia sp -
i.e. open the phone app and dial
*#*#7378423#*#*
then go to > Service Info >WLAN MAC address what i see there is not the above MAC address (18:00:2D:38:EE:C9), which it appears now from your post is something to do with the ROM, and is also not what is in /data/etc/wlan_macaddr0 and the two should really be the same.
However what i see by going to > Service Info >WLAN MAC address is my actual hardware mac address (i know this because the first thing i did when i got my xperia sp 6 months ago was to record everything about it before making any changes to it) which is not the same as 18:00:2D:38:EE:C9.
I have tried using other methods to change this mac address or get the phone to acknowledge the actual hardware mac address to no avail.
Any comment or help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers mate.

Hi !
Yes after lot of tries I found something that worked for me (on my own pre-rooted Orange FR 4.3 201 but should work for all 201)
to correct this I did :
1/ have root
2/ mount rw /system (I did that with ES Explorer 3 + check root explorer + check rw for all)
3/ copy /data/etc/wlan_macaddr* to /system/etc/firmware/wlan/.
4/ go to /system/etc/firmware/wlan/
5/ if exists delete or rename macaddr*
6/ rename wlan_macaddr* to macaddr*
7/ reboot and check in service info menu : for me the 2 columns are now back to the same !
I guess on SEUS standard installation of 4.3 an install script do the correct symlink but on our 'custom' ROMs that use a 'generic' META_INF file, the updater-script does not...
I know that direct copy of these 4 files is not a really clean method but I firstly tried to do the job with a symlink(ln-s) + permission change (chmod) but that failed...(I had found somewhere on xda that somebody did that for another xperia ).
Hope this should help you...
Cheers.

Dude, you ROCK!
Saw your post and checked in my phone. Got the same MAC adress, although I don't know what the problem of a different MAC adress is, so if you could please elaborate? :$
Did your steps and got 00:XXXXXX MAC adress back, as stated in service menu

Hi,
With the MAC change, you may have 2 problems :
- if you connect on a network that use mac filtering : with stock ROM you have your own MAC address so you can connect. when you try custom ROM, you will get the new 18:.....:C9 address so you will have to disable or update filtering, if you can (I could at home, but obvioulsy not at work...).
- If you want to connect 2 xperia SP with custom ROM on the same network your wifi router may really not like to see 2 times the same MAC... (I had this case at work and the router became crazy - my IT manager had to reboot it....

Yes, for me almost the same (but that may vary on different ROMs) :
- one folder (named 'prima' -> this one contains some config files for the wifi driver - better to not modify I guess)
- only one file named macaddr0 ( in fact not a file but something like a broken symlink to /data/etc/wlan_macaddr0).
The procedure only delete this symlink and recreate a text file that contains the right MAC address...
I don't know if it is useful to copy the 4 macaddr files or if only 0 is enough...
Cheers from france

I know this type of question is asked too much on here, but I have searched the forums and not found the answer I am looking for. This is my very first experience with an android device, so please don't just reply with "you should already know this and that," because I don't. At least not yet. My phone is an Xperia feat. Hatsune Miku running 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, firmware version 10.3.1.B.2.13. I have adb installed onto my windows 7 laptop, and it has been manually added to the path variable. I have downloaded the 20140917.zip, and extracted it to my desktop. I have Sony PC Companion installed. And I have USB Debugging and Enable apk's from outside the play store checked on the phone.I just want to confirm, that this will all work as the searches I have made imply: the phone will be powered on, and plugged in by USB, I will run the .BAT file from the .zip, and the phone will reboot, then be rooted, with SuperSu installed in the app drawer. Am I missing anything? Like I said, I am new to this, so I would just like a final nod that this will work as described. I don't plan on installing a custom ROM, I just want to be able to run AdAway, and Tasker.
Sorry for the wall of text, thanks for your time.
Don't just root your device because some app needs root.

I think you can download adblock plus apk from their site. Then go to your network settings and change the proxy for your APN to localhost and port 2020. You might need to create a new APN and copy over the settings since they won't let you edit the original APN
edit: I just did this on my T-mobile S5. Installled Adblock plus from https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install
Made a new APN and copied over the settings (original APN couldn't be updated). Then added localhost to proxy name and 2020 to proxy port. No ads anymore. No root needed

Check this alternative for AdAway and as far as Takser is concerned, Tasker runs without Root too.
If you still need to root your device: Check out this thread.
Press Thanks if it helped you.

Hi guys,
I hope someone can help!.
I have my Suzuki s cross connected to my second phone (Huawei Y6) via USB. This phone only have a data Sim, and no call options.
Furthermore I have my primary phone (Huawei P20) connected to the cars bluetooth system and when I disconnect the USB phone, I can easily make and receive calls.
But when the USB phone is connected and Android Auto is turned on, its not possible to make calls as android auto takes over.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can use my data phone to navigation through Android Auto, but still be able to make calls from my primary phone through the cars bluetooth connection.?
Looking forward to hear from you

Great, can you explain in detail how you did it on second rooted phone... upon uncompressed, I see, There are many Bluetooth folders in rom, which one to choose?
Is it permanent change? I mean if we flash original rom, we can get back Bluetooth??
What about AA, it will not work if no Bluetooth integration.. correct??

Hi. Sorry for late.
1- You must choose a custom rom for your "second phone"
2- Now You have a Custom rom in .zip file
3- Open zip file (i use winrar) and then go in "system\app" and then delete "bluetooth" folder
4- Save and flash new rom (I suggest You to do a nandroid backup before)
Now your second phone don't have bluetooth but all other work.
I set that when my "primary phone" are connected to car with bluetooth, automatically, start wifi hotspot and "second phone", when take charge (turned on car) exit to airplane mode. It's perfect.

Hi. I use Prometheus lite for Samsung j530f because i like developer work.
But You can made the same for every roms.
Then, with a Application like automate or tasker you can set the automatic on/off of Hotspot end other things

Thank you. I have an idea that might work which would bypass AA altogether but first I must update the firmware on my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso.
I have failed to connect both phones ( Galaxy A7 2015 - aa) and (Note 9 - SMS and calls) . I disabled via root all bluetooth services on the A7 but as soon as AA launches ,Note 9 disconnects from the car. Mac spoofing does not work either.
Any solutions yet ?
Same problem, is there an app that cancels bluetooth?
