Cannot get Odin to work with my GT-P7300 - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

I've tried to flash my Galaxy Tab 8.9 (GT-P7300) with "P7300XXLQG_P7300VNZLP9_P7300XXLQ6_HOME.tar.md5" and "twrp3020-20160927-p5.tar.md5" with Odin3 v3.13.1 & v3.13.3.
But either it gets stuck at Connection Setup or fails at hidden.img
I be grateful for any info or insight on this issue.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S...
Then why in the world are you following the rooting procedure of the Samsung Galaxy S 2?
You will have to flash your phone with a firmware package now.
Try re running the process minus dog and see what happens, can take a while to reboot be patient

For your sake....
Please, pay close attention to what you are flashing. You are lucky this time.
If you are unsure of what to flash, or what you are flashing, don't be affraid to ask.
ok so can someone give me a link for the correct process, also Kies wont connect to my device at the moment.
What region are you in?
Do you want 2.3.3?
Or 2.2.1?
Of course Kies won't connect, you're lucky the phone is turning on.
Download this too. Odin v1.82
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y7QPNEUZ
Im in Australia, Perth to be exact, and im keen to run 2.3.3
Alright sweet...
http://www.multiupload.com/E4EZ90ID7Y
2.3.3 Gingerbread, latest UK official release.
Are you with Optus?
Im with Telstra. D/l link now have ivivd d/l manger?
Ok....
I was just asking if you were with Optus because I have an Optus csc you could flash, but no worries.
After the flash, you will need to edit your apn settings manually to get a data connection. We'll worry about that later.
In the Odin package I had you download, is there a 512 pit file in the folder?
Did you click on the blue "direct download" button?
s1_odin_20100512 is the file
re d/l the second link
have phone in d/l mode
Ok...
Put pooch in another room. Lock the door if you have to.
Make sure phone is completely charged.
Open up Odin.
Select the pit tab. Go to the root of the Odin folder and select the 512 pit file. (The file you posted the details of)
Now select PDA tab in Odin, and navigate to the JVO ROM folder you downloaded. Select the PDA file.
Same for the PHONE, and CSC tab. Make sure you put the right files in the right slots.
Make sure re-partition in Odin is ticked.
Connect Phone to PC, when Odin recognises the phone a yellow box will appear. Press start.

[Q] Screwed up Tab with Roto Backup

I was good when I first got my Tab, and followed all best practices, and made a Roto Backup of my Tab right after rooting.
I just tried to flash my Roto Restore back, and now my Tab is messed up. On startup, it will flash some corrupted graphics and static, play the Samsung sound and then sit on a black screen until it shuts off.
Fortunately, I still seem able to boot to download mode.
This is the procedure I followed to Roto Restore:
adb push data.tar.gz /sdcard/data.tar.gz
adb shell su -c "tar -zxvf /sdcard/data.tar.gz"
adb reboot download
Click to collapse
Then from a Linux system, I executed:
tar -cf mybackup.tar cache.rfs dbdata.rfs factoryfs.rfs modem.bin param.lfs zImage
Then I opened up Odin, connected in download mode, and flashed the tar as PDA, with all options default.
How do I fix my tab, and how do I restore my Roto Backup?
Hmm in case anyone is able to help, now the situation is slightly worse. I realized I had a .pit file in my Roto Backup folder that I had not accounted for, so I flashed that again via Odin/download mode together with the .tar as PDA.
Now Odin seems to be hung doing nothing with this text:
<ID:0/005> Added!!
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/005> Initialzation..
<ID:0/005> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/005> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!
It's been like this for about 15 minutes now with no activity.
Any advice on what to do?
Is anyone able to help me?
After Odin sat there for 4 hours doing nothing, I finally closed it and turned off the Tab. Now I can no longer get to download mode, and whenever I turn it on, there's a picture of a cell phone and a picture of a computer with a yellow exclamation mark in between.
Okay, final update for today, I found out from another thread that if you're lucky it's still in download mode even though it you get the dreaded yellow triangle.
I was lucky.
I used the fact that Odin could still flash it to reflash to Team Overcome's European stock safe ROM. Not exactly where I wanted to end up, but I'm just happy my Tab isn't a brick.
I'm a little scared to try and use my Roto Backup again, can anyone advise me on what the proper way to use this is without turning your Tab into a brick?
If you are in download mode, just flash a JME or other froyo rom. You have to use a .pit file and check the repartition box.
Get your tab working, then work on getting it to stock.

Yeah, it's working again now, I'm running Overcome's stock safe ROM which is JQ1 I believe.
How can I use my Roto Backup now to re-stock?
Not until you flash a froyo rom first, like I already told you above, or you will get the crazy rainbows from messed up bootloaders.

so you say, flash stock rom froyo (lets say from samfirm)
use p1.pit (as it says in the site)
check the repartition
also to put the 'tar' (rom) file in pda and go?
after checking on my tab, that's a yes.
When you get your froyo rom flashed, and you confirm everything works, you must do this next step:
Go find the chainfire bootloader patch. Froyo roms have bootloaders that can make your tab dead.
With the bootloader safely patched, then you are free to do anything.

[SOLVED][HELP] Odin failing at factoryfs.rfs

Hi all,
EDIT: After many false starts and some nervous near-brick experiences, I managed to solve my problem with one of the simplest solutions I hadn't thought of: Heimdall. I just extracted the tar file then dropped each individual file into Heimdall and reflashed the Tab and it is now back from the dead, ready to be reflashed.
After my GT-P1000T started having some unexplained slowness and FC's, I thought I would flash it back to stock before upgrading to the newer Overcome ROM. So I wiped my Overcome 3.0.1 Jupiter Tab from Clockworkmod and then plugged it into my 64-bit Win7 machine to try and flash it back to stock. Dropping the necessary JQ1 files (including the TAR, PIT and Modem files) into Odin with all options checked .
Unfortunately, Odin gets quite a way into flashing factoryfs.rfs and then throws a FAIL! message and the Tab restarts to the weird phone-triangle-pc icon on-screen at which point Odin re-recognises it.
I have tried toggling re-partition, rebooting the Tab, rebooting the PC, changing ports, redownloading the files and running Odin with admin privs, all to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get back to working condition?
Do a search for Telstra rom galaxy tab, reflash that to see if it works. Then retry flashing gb...
Never had trouble flashing but I generally restock the telstra rom first....
Cheers...

[Q] Problem flashing GB firmware on Korean Galaxy S with Odin...

Okay everyone, I recently tried to upgrade both of my Korean Galaxy S (SHW-M110S) to gingerbread by flashing one of the regular i9000 firmwares on them. At the same time... And I guess that was a bad move, because now my phone keeps booting to recovery mode whenever I turn it on. I have already tried to download the CORRECT gingerbread firmware file exactly for my phone, and I'm flashing it with Odin3 v1.83 just like the instructions say, and it's still not working. The process always fails... Below is what it says exactly.

I was wondering, what I can do to correct the problem. I need my phones working again asap! Thanks in advance!

Firmware flashed: Gingerbread 2.3.4 (VG26)
Phone flashed: Samsung Galaxy SHW-M110S
Long story short, I wanted to upgrade both of my Korean Galaxy S phones and I flashed the Asia firmware (I9000DXJV9|2.3.3|May 2011|Download Link1 or Link2) from the link below...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
And it messed with my phone, so I searched around on how to fix it with the CORRECT Gingerbread firmware for my specific phone model. And I found these comments in a thread here on XDA. Link is below... The comments on this page led me to start downloading the firmware and try flashing it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772718&page=311
The link to the firmware I downloaded is there as well.
And that's when the error log in Odin started saying what I originally posted above.
Thanks for the reply!
opps im in wrong forum
UPDATE!!
I managed to flash the firmware successfully on one of my Korean phones, but it doesn't want to flash on the other one. They're both the same model, but idk what's happeneing. There's a screenshot of Odin in the attachment below...
i have found with my i9000 that with some firmwares i have to remove my sim card otherwise it fails.
hope it helps
