I have the doodle wallpaper on and my screen brightness set to 100, if I'm in a app and I exit the app by pressing back (not swiping on the home button) when I get to the home screen the screen flickers on the top and bottom very briefly and it looks like waves. This only happens when I exit an app pressing the back button, swiping up on the home button doesn't cause the waves. Does this happen to you too when you exit a app using back or is this just my phone. Would somebody mind checking on their phone.
Something is tweaking out your device. The only safe aspect to ensure the device is not defective is to do a full factory reset and see if it happens again.
I did

i'm hoping there's a way to close all the open apps whenever the screen turns off or when i hit the power button to manually turn off the screen. Anyone know if this is possible?
Very nice idea, i'd like to know if this is possible to.
Hi guys, I just got my new replacement Bell Samsung galaxy S and have gotten things running on it again, but the damn thing keeps going into some weird screen capture.
What happens is that when I hit the "back" button it will go dark and the "menu" button will light up. repeatedly hitting the back button will do nothing, and hitting the menu button will do nothing. Pressing the center "home" button will take a picture of what I have displayed on the screen.
I go and check my running applications and it shows this "screen capture service" running. I stop it and then I continue on what I'm doing and it happens again, going back to the running apps and it is back.
The only way it seems I can use my "back" button is if i hit the "volume" button on the side and then both the "back" and "menu" buttons will light up, and then I have to wait until they both go dark before I can hit the "back" button and have it work. if I hit it will they are lit up it goes back into the screen capture "mode"
The phone came in the mail with I9000UGJL2, firmware 2.2.
Any advice on how to permanently kill that damn screen capture thing would be greatly appreciated because it is driving me nuts. I get a way with maybe 2 "back" button pushes where it works and then it goes into that mode
Same problem...
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (Facinate)
It seems that by pressing the back button too quickly puts you in the Screen Capture mode...Back button dims but the Menu button stays lit. I found that if I push the Home button that take s the screen shot, then wait for both the Menu and Back button to come on and then lowlight, I can then hit the back button and continue on for a while?
Package name: com.sec.android.app.screencapture
Source: /system/app/ScreenCaptureService.apk
Please, I would like to find out more about this app in order to try and control it. It really slows moving back when you have to wait for the Menu and Back buttons to lowlight before you can hit the back button again!
Just after posting the above, I was able to Force Stop the package and I have not had a problem with the phone going into screen capture mode since.
Woohoo!
My i9100 built-in Screen Capture Service default output is png format. How can I change it to jpeg format?

I believe rotate screen is press and hold power button for 3 seconds
You also have to go into the settings and enable rotation

Rotating the screen for HTC Touch
I've used handcent for quite a long time but don't think there's a way for the messenger to auto rotate at starting. Just hold in power button for 3 seconds (as mentioned above by KralHiPolymer), let go, and wait for the rotate... This works when ever you want your screen to rotate to landscape, and again to rotate back to portrait mode. You might find the the keyboard pops up after this so you'll have to hit the back button (old camera button) once to pop the keyboard back down if you don't need it up, or alternatively hold in power button for just 1 second.
(this happens because if you hold in the same power button for only 1 second and let go it triggers the on-screen keyboard on and off)
Landscape mode is great for getting your keyboard keys a little bit larger for easier txt'ing!
If you search the forums close enough you'll find all kinds of cool button tricks (hard and soft) for your Vogue.
Hello and thank you for attempting to help me. I have a Nexus 6 from T-mobile. My dentist appointment yesterday brought me clean teeth and a terrible phone problem. While I was there yesterday my phone decided to download the 5.1.1 update OTA. I pressed the okay button and it restarted. On boot up, I get a white window saying it is "optimizing apps x out of 138". It does that every time I boot it up. After that window is finished, I get a black backgrounded lock screen. On the lock screen in the usual place is the time. In the top left it says there is no sim card. In the bottom I get the normal call, unlock, camera buttons. I am able to drag down the top to show the notification information. As far as I know there are no settings changed from the factory Nexus 6 I recieved from T-mobile. Now I have attempted multiple tasks to try to access my phone but all have been in vain. Here is a list of what I have tried.
To unlock the phone normally. The result is a black screen, a little beep, a white window that says Google services have failed. After a second or two the white screen goes away and leaves a empty screen. I am still able to hold the power button to reveal the white power off window and it works. I can also hold down on the volume and the power button to create a screen shot. It even shows the whole minimization of the current screen and fall to the bottom like it would if the phone was working properly.
I tried to swipe the call button and all it does is give me a blank white screen with a blue notification bar at the top. I can once again power off or screen shot but nothing else.
I have not tried to swipe from camera yet.
I can drag down on the top notification bar to show the the notifications, quick setting changes (Wifi, data, airplane modes, brightness) and the setting button to go to the setting menu. I can turn the brightness up and down, and turn all the other things in the quick menu on and off but if I click anything (toogle them or slide the brightness) and put the notifications bar back up I get the black screen with the white google services has crashed window. I can power off and screen shot normally.
If i swipe down on the notification bar and press setting It crashes once again and gives the black screen and white window that says google services has crashed. I can power off and screen shot normally.
I tried holding volume down and the power button then went into recovery mode. Held power then press volume up to get to the next menu and then deleted the cache partition. It has no effect that I have noticed.
As stated above, I do not think I have usb debugging enabled, I assume my boot loader is locked. This phone has not been modded by me.
I do not want to factory reset if I do not have to due to the very important phones and numbers i have.
You didn't make a backup before updating ?

Unless there is a previous setting in place that I clicked to automatically update it when ever there is one available, I do not remember picking to update. It downloaded and asked me to reset. I assumed it was a small patch and not something that could screw up my phone. I could of though. But no I did not.

Well, I'd suggest a factory reset even though you are reluctant. Otherwise, bring it somewhere for repair. But chances are they're going to tell you to factory reset.
As most of you know, Pokemon Go requires the screen to be on to track your km walked. That obviously sucks battery, but also, if I stick it in my pocket, sometimes something will brush it and the app closes or similar issues arise. The included "battery saver" mode tends to make the game freeze up and close, so I'd like to avoid that.
Is there a way to create a button or such, that, when pressed, dims the screen to nearly black until power button is pressed, or basically "locks" the screen so nothing can be pressed, until power button is pressed, so that I can stick in my pocket and not worry about the app closing?
if you have a samsung and ROOT or Amoled, then maybe I can help.
