Is there a setting that locks the home screens to portrait but still allows the apps to rotate to landscape?
I don't believe there is anything in Android settings, but you could use a 3rd party rotation control app like Ultimate Rotation Control. Set it up so OneUI Home or whatever home launcher you're using is forced into Portrait mode

Try Settings -> Display -> Home screen
You should then have an option to rotate Home screen to landscape or not.
I hope that helps!View attachment 4916397

I didn't even notice that setting, probably because I've been using Nova Launcher forever. That setting gets blacked out when using other launchers. Thanks for clarifying.

Since Samsung UI has come of age I don't use Nova anymore ... and UI is getting better with each update! It does all that Nova did when I last used it.

How can I have the XZ's homescreen automatically rotate to landscape mode without using a different launcher? - Display settings for screen roatation doesn't help, as it only affects apps, not the homescreen. A tweak should be possible, as the homescreen automatically rotates to landscape when then XZ is plugged into the docking station.

Yeah i search the same, too. Is there now a tweak?
Rotate in the Play Store

I am using the default launcher and the homescreen automatically rotates for me when i plug it into the dock.
It also auto rotates if you plug MHL cable in.
Would be good to have auto rotate when you turn the phone.
Must be a way to do it.
Phil
try this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.RotationAnywhere
The app istn working for me. I would like to prefer the tweak in the build.prop or anywhere. I guess its doable.
It works.
Open the app and enable it.
Go to homescreen, expand status bar and click on Rotation Anywhere.
There u can set position of launcher.
I rooted my phone and am wondering if there is a way to create a shortcut on my home page to launch the two apps quickly. I couldn't find anything online.

Use 2 fingers to drag from the top of the screen and you can see the multi window on/off

I think the OP means launching 2 apps at the same time, not the quick toggle. There's nothing out there that I know of for that.
You can do it with an app that supports shortcuts (i.e. Nova Launcher, Tasker, GMD Gesture Control, etc).
Thanks. I use Nova launcher, so I will see if I get it to work.

For some reason I don't see the option for windowed shortcut for 1 or 2 apps.
It just doesn't exist.
Does any one know any thing about lockscreen widgets feature that we read about and never saw it
Try to swipe to the left from your lockscreen, you will see a + icon. (Also by swiping to the right will launch the camera app).

I tried a lot but nothing happened is there some settings I should set first?(I know about the camera it's working good)
Lockscreen widgets is disabled by default. To enable it, simply go to settings>security>under screen settings you will see an option called "turn on widgets". Tap it to turn on.

Hi guys! I have never owned a note before and what is bothering me is that the lockscreen is rotating in landscape mode. Is it the same with yours? Have i done something wrong? Any way to disable it? Thanks.

Then it will not rotate anymore like YouTube.. Do you have the same? Your lockscreen is rotating?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate
This allows to set rotation for individual apps.

It's very simple
Code:
Profile: AUTO ROTATE ON/OFF (24)
Application: Chrome, YouTube, „TeamViewer“... (select which apps trigger this profile)
Enter: ROTATION ON (17)
A1: Display AutoRotate [ Set:on ]
No need for exit task, Tasker will turn off auto rotate automaticaly.
I couldn't even get the lock screen to rotate for the life of me. I'm kinda of jealous. Are using a different launcher or the stock Samsung touchwiz?

just done mine its what I was after
Read this topic guys:

Changing the DPI will allow the lockscreen to rotate too. Doesn't matter the launcher.
I've had the option attached enabled. But notice none of my new apps that I install are showing on my home screen. I'm not using any launcher's. I've also got add apps to home screen enabled.
Cheers
