The Ultra Macro mode does not seem to work on latest update a.08.
On previous update you would hold the yellow Ultra Macro text to bring up the zoom.
This does not appear to work anymore.
Anyone else notice this ?
Edit: Never mind, seems I was using Ultra Macro Mode wrong and there is no zoom in this mode

I've been playing around with my new Z1 for a bit. I noticed there isn't a macro mode or setting. What's the closest mode or setting tweak I can get to a macro mode? Thanks in advance.

So recently, I tried using gcam for portrait mode, it's really good for selfies, so I tried using the rear cam for portrait modes. Unfortunately there's a green tint whenever I use the rear camera for portrait modes or HDR+ Enhanced mode (assuming portrait mode uses HDR+ Enhanced) here's an example of the green tint I mentioned. tried lots of ports already
here's a list of ports ive tried, i have also tried configuring the settings (black level, white balance thingamajig) to try and fix the problem i am having but still, green tints
some dont have portrait mode but ill still list them here...
GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V6.apk -
GC_3.2.045_final_3.1_kenzo
[email protected]+.apk
GCam redmi 4a.apk (haha sorry but this did not work, atleast on the symptoms i listed)
GCAM_5.1.018_by_SerJo87_1.6RC2_test4c.apk
MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A.apk
MGCamera_5.1.0.18_R4X_v.5.1.5.apk
MGCB_7.0H_C2API_Mid_v.3.8.b_AllinOne_Full_Manual.apk
Which ROM are you on? The new AEX update should fix the GCam green tint issue here:

Recently bought the phone off Amazon and started messing with the cameras and noticed i could have my fingers over the top and bottom camera on all modes and zoom one each and it never used them? Did I get a faulty phone or am I using something wrong?

I heard this and think it is true for the P9 too, but I've learned some things since then. There are a lot of modes and resolution combinations. Try the basics first. Top cam is only zoom. Bottom is B&W.
For example, I cannot shoot with finger over zoom lens after choosing 3x zoom in Photo mode and waiting for the zoom lens to kick in (the image stabilises once the zoom lens is active).
I would try with and without AI, with different resolutions and with different modes. I just tried night mode on 10mp and covered the B&W sensor, so maybe it's all a big scam.
Thought the same first but now im sure all of them are working fine .
The phone can only use two cameras at once anyway to my knowledge .
When you zoom in good lighting it will switch to telephoto cam ( top cam ).
When you shoot in bw it will use monochrome .
When the phone tells you to stabilize fot sharpening it will trigger the monochrome sensor too .
Hi all,
I just got my new Mi 9 today
I updated to the latest stable global firmware.
I tried to take some photos of the city from a lookout and found something weird going on with the camera focus.
In night mode, or normal mode.
If i tap on the screen to choose a focus point, the camera would focus ok. I then press the shutter button, the camera tries to re-focus again (wtf?), fails and takes an out-of-focus photo.
Whats going on here??
If i pre-focus by tapping somewhere on the screen, why is the camera doing a re-focus when I go to take the photo?
Has anyone else come across this?
Thanks.

You can try to register your face again using portrait mode. (Not landscape mode) Light conditions are important and if you wear glasses.
