Is there anyone else having problems being able to do this. I'm really having a hard time. TiBu is hangs and forgot what other one I tried to use to convert it.

So I installed Cognition 2.1, and everything seems pretty awesome. However, every time I open Google Talk, it closes. It doesn't prompt me to FC, but it pops up briefly and disappears. Task managers say that it's running, but I can't receive any messages nor can I open the program.
I tried restoring the app and the data in TiBa but no luck. Same results. Any thoughts?
This happened to me when I restored the accounts using Titanium Backup.
Someone else said to restore everything again with Titanium to fix it, but I don't know myself if that worked. I wound up re-flashing to stock and then when I restored with Titanium I just didn't restore the accounts.
When you say "Accounts," do you mean just the one called "Accounts" with the Titanium Backup logo next to it? Or are there other things you're referring to as well?

That's what I'm talking about, yeah. I don't know with 100% certainty if it'll work but it seems like that was the culprit because my Market wouldn't download anything either. When I did the same exact process again I manually added my gmail account before I did Titanium restores and I stayed away from the Accounts item in there.
Try restoring everything again, in Titanium, all system data. Someone here said it works to do that. Maybe it will? Only other option at this point is to reflash to stock and update it again. (as far as I know, I tried quite a few things and nothing else worked. I didn't try restoring everything again with Titanium though)
Yeah I have the exact same problem: market downloads won't work either. I wonder what causes that?
I just clicked restore all data on Titanium Backup (didn't feel like reinstalling every single app again), and it worked! Also restored all my homescreen data: didn't realize that got backed up.
Thanks for the help!

You restored system data back to an app... thats a big no no
Has anyone had a problem with this feature before? On my last rom change it missed a couple apps during the restore. Stuff like barcode scanner etc.
I just had to redownload them but the problem I am worried about if it is going to start missing stuff during rom changes is the fact that I use ShapeWriter keyboard which you can't get from the market anymore. Currently it still shows up during restore but if it forgets it, I will hate to have to find the apk and have to manually install it every time.

Hi all,
So flashing ROMs is now natural to me, I was a long time on 2.1 with lag-fix and this was enough for me, but now leaked ROMs became very good (as it sounds form people around) and I gave it a try:
I copied all my contacts to gmail account instead of phone memory
I'm backing up my text messages and then can restore them
What's left is applications with their settings and more important their market entries this is something I'm asking you about - I'm doing backup with Titanium, then when i restore i need to press "install" and "done" buttons on each and every app and in the end i see that there was no market entries for any of those applications, so they won't get updated.
Ok then, I thought, maybe AppBrain will help me, while it's on my working ROM it's cool - I can sync my apps, see updates etc. but when i switch to nude from apps rom and then sync the AppBrain syncs and removes all the apps i had there so also nothing here...
Maybe I'm just doing something wrong - I would very appreciate to know how you do all this stuff right!
Thanks!

Titanium backup backs up your app+data. When you're restoring them, did you press app+data instead of just app?
I don't know why that would happen since I always get my market entries back.

I guess that I actually did used app+data option, or at least all the programs did remembered my settings (doesn't that means that i restored also the data?)
also is there a way to restore apps without pressing "install" and "done" on every one of them?
Thanks in advance

You have to buy the pro version for that feature. I HIGHLY recommend it. It is so useful and saves you so much time. And the dev is extremely helpful and supportive of his app.
Try restoring their data and see if that works. If not, try re-downloading them and back the files up again.

Do what koreancanuck's suggesting - try to reinstall all apps + data and keep your fingers crossed. I also have the pro version of TiBu - agreeing to install every single app after a new ROM installation is the last thing I want to do.
If you still can't get your apps working after installing apps + data then you'll just have to go through the Market to download them again. At least you can still see which apps you already had via TiBu. I feel like sometimes it's better to start over when you've just installed a fresh ROM, rather than restore from TiBu, because then you can really see which apps you want and which ones were just wasting space.
I made backups of some of my system apps with Titanium, then deleted them from the phone (don't worry, I didn't delete anything mission-critical). I was going through and restoring some of these apps, just to make sure that I could get everything back to stock if I wanted to, and while almost everything got restored without a hitch, there were a few apps that Titanium would hang on when I hit the restore button.
I'm certainly not screwed or anything. I'll just grab what I need from the system dump. I was just curious if this behavior was consistent across devices. The apps I've been having trouble restoring are News, IM, and Guided Tours. Anybody else having trouble with these?

So, after I rooted my phone I started cleaning out some of the system apps that I didn't want and couldn't uninstall (Google Books, Movies, etc.) and I also removed the stock messaging app (stupid). It turns out that it is important and now I can't text from any other SMS app at all without it crashing.
Would anyone be willing to share their stock system messaging apk with me so I can put it back where it belongs? I can't seem to find it online anywhere. I know I really should be more careful, it was a thoughtless mistake. Thank you very much for your time.
SOLUTION: I found the Mms.apk in the system dump from the XT1097 Moto X and used a root explorer to move it into my /system/priv-app (possibly unnecessary, I tried this first), then I just took the apk and installed it like a normal app. Maybe this will help someone, but hopefully no one else will be as careless as me and need it.
