Hi all,
So I'm aware that the SM-R325 needs to have replacement USB C connector to fit the Note 9, but what are the actual difference between the standard USB C and the one that Samsung sends you after you request it?
It looks to me that the Note 9 is just a tad too wide, so cutting out the light grey rubber would solve that issue? Thoughts?
I have used my N960N on my SM-R325 without the adapter and it fits in just fine, without any issues.

I have a HDMI cable that works perfectly in a Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Note II, so I was certain there would be no problem using it on the Galaxy Camera, but it seems to be a proprietary port which is a fraction smaller than a micro USB.
I am a bit angry about this, as it means a (probably expensive) Samsung branded cable needs to be purchased. Considering how expensive the camera is, Samsung should have at least provided one.
The other problem is finding a retailer that sells one. I can't seem to locate one as yet.

Hi there, with regards to the HDMI port on the Samsung Galaxy Camera, I believe it is using a standard micro-HDMI sized connector. These ports have been in use on Android devices for a while now so you should be able to pick one up for a reasonable price rather easily. Here is an example of a cable that should work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-HDMI-...=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item1e6125af08
Good luck in your hunt!

Thanks for the info, I guess I was so used to a phone's multi use Micro USB socket I forgot that the camera has a separate HDMI socket and that it's pretty much standard! Doh!
I shall now buy a cheap one off eBay.
Thanks again.
I bought on ebay an HDMI cable compatible with GS2 and Note, but with gCam does not work. Does anyone know tell me a compatible model, tried in person? Thanks

I know that Samsung HDMI cable are not compatible betwwen S2/Note and S3. I believe Note 2 and Galaxy Camera use same new format that S3 and it's probably why it doesn't work for you. but not 100% Sure.

Samsung uses 3 different types of connectors in their devices.
there's the regular mhl connector used in the note 1 and S2 which I think is a 6pin connector.
The note 2 and S3 use a Samsung mhl connector which has 11 pins and also allows you to use usb for sync/data transfer while outputting video.
and there's the regular old standard micro sized HDMI port which is used in the galaxy camera.
It's a tiny little port next to the battery, which requires a $0.50 adapter plug to get a full sized HDMI cable plugged in, or you can just use a cable with HDMI micro on one end and full sized HDMI on the other.

Hi team,
I just bought an HDMI cable to connect by phone to the TV. The problem is that the cable just wont fit in to Note1. However, it works perfectly fine with Note 2.
I can use the same charger to charge my Note 1 and Note 2. But the HDMI cable port just wont fit inside Note 1 as if its not meant for it. I tried to push it but it refuses to connect.
AFAIK, HDMI cables are universal and can be used on any phones which supports this feature. I may be wrong.
Any ideas what is causing this issue?

Don't know how it looks on Note 2, but all Note 1 has is USB port into which fits only USB.
Sending screen to other devices is done with MHL converter, which has USB plug which goes to Note, USB port for external power and HDMI port for connecting to TV. I'm sure more info can be found in accessories forum.
PS. I have a vague feeling that questions should generally be posted in Q&A forum...

The man is bang on, there's no hdmi port on any phone AFAIK... Mhl ports vary pins on generation of phone, so the note2 matches the s3 and I think the s2 matches the note, but it usually states on the product page which models they fit.

Hi there, It looks like a Y shaped cable. One end goes into the phone (charger port) and on the other side, there are 2 wires (ports), one goes into the HDMI port on the TV and the other goes into the USB port on the TV. The USB port does the job of charging the phone simultaneously while the HDMI does the job of extending the screen from phone to TV. There is no MHL adapter. The cable does all the job.
On the package, it says for Galaxy S3 so I guess it will work only with S3 and Note 2. I need to buy one more which is compatible with S2 and Note1.
My only question is that since the charging port on Note1 and Note2 is similar, how come there is still a compatibility issue with Note1? I was under the impression that the cable/port would be standard for these Samsung android phones and if it fits into Note2, then why note on Note1?
That's called an mhl adapter. The port in the phone is micro usb, so the signal is converted to hdmi.

I went ahead and purchased the DEX for my Note 9. I have the ZeroLemon 10,000 mAh case and I also purchased an extender cable because the male plug on the DEX will not reach the female end of the ZeroLemon case, fully. I then went ahead and purchased an extender. While the extender does "kind of" work without the case, it will not work with it. Without the case, it works, but it shorts out a lot by just tapping the wire.
Not sure if this has anything to do w/ it, but with the ZeroLemon case on, I'm able to use the Samsung cable and connect to my Windows PC and transfer files. I've tested at least one third party cable, which does not work in this instance. I'm therefore assuming that DEX should work with the right cable.
Any thoughts on this? Or has ZeroLemon come out and specifically said DEX is not supported?
ive 3 zerolemon cases (cuz I have 3 note 9s) and i also have the current dex model for the note 9.
the zerolemon case does NOT PASS THRU data so dex will not work. had I known this i would not have purchased the case for the spare note 9 i use solely for dex. i also could not get any files to pass through the case, but i was using the charger cable that came with the galaxy 360 camera and not the stock sammy one. perhaps I should go try again since you were able to pass files....

I'm wondering if one can get a modded Samsung USB Type C cable to get DEX to work on the ZeroLemon. I don't have the skills to mod cables. I could not find a Samsung Female to Male USB Type C adapter/cable. Maybe there's something special about the connecting pins with Samsung cables? Again, I would "think" that DEX could work if file transfer works. I seem to remember from my old phone something about an extra PIN in the connector. Not sure if this was from the Note 4 or even before that....The DROID RAZR MAXX (which is Motorola, not Samsung). It's worth some investigating. I purchased two other adapters, they should arrive by Wednesday. I'll report my findings.
So Far, Not Compatible
I had purchased three different Female to Male adapters/cables for my Samsung Dex Pad in hopes of seeing if The ZeroLemon 10,000 mAh battery case was compatible. Long story short, so far, it is not, and I give up on it for now. I may try the DEX cable, but I assume I'll have similar results. I was hoping to use the DEX pad so i wasn't limited to only 5 open windows.
USB C Male to USB C Female Adapter Extension/EASTWILD Type C Extender for Samsung DeX, Compatible with Galaxy S9/S9 Plus/Note 8/S8/S8 Plus Macbook air and Macbook pro and All USB C Devices - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074M77HJK/
Plugs all the way into both the DEX and ZeroLemon battery case
Does not charge, therefore no connection for DEX
TUSITA Type-C Extender Dock for Lifeproof Otterbox Case, Female to Male Extension Charger Video Audio USB C Adapter for Samsung Dex Station Galaxy S8 S9 Note 8 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M30824S
Plugs all the way in to the ZeroLemon battery case but not the DEX male plug
Considering the obstruction of some of the plastic doesn't allow it to fully plug in, it does not charge.
UGREEN USB C Extension Cable Type C Extender Cord Male to Female Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 Compatible for Nintendo Switch, MacBook Pro, Google Pixel 2 XL, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 S8 Plus (1.5FT) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074K318JK/
Fully plugs into both the DEX and the ZeroLemon case
Does not charge, therefore no connection for DEX.
I have confirmed that all three adapters/cables tested are not malfunctioning, by plugging them into my charger cable.
If anyone finds something that does work, please chime in.

DeX mode won't work while using the case, because the USB-C connection inside the battery case is not designed to output the data needed.. I assume it is not able to output video...

What about the case is it? Is there a missing pin in the connector? Does it have anything to do with the fact that the case doesn't support fast charging and therefore no DeX support or is there even a correlation there?
Hello guys, i facing charging & connection problem with my k20 pro, during charging my phone if i flip my type C cable i lose charging speed and if flip it back to the other side the charging speed be normal, i tried about 3 cable same problem (all genuine from xiaomi) my phone brand new not fixed or opened

type c connector have nearly identical pins on both sides most probably there is broken pin in your device port on one side. replacing that port will ix the issue or keep using as it is.

Wow I'm glad you found a cable. I find android auto via the cable notoriously unreliable. Didn't matter if it's the original cable or 3rd party, braided, unbraided, short, long.. whatever. At some point for no apparent reason the cable seems tonfsil, and if you are using gps it stops going through to the car, and yes I have missed a junction or two! My car is new, and I believe the problem is unrelated to either the s21 or the car or the cable. It's a software issue.
FWIW, we've had good luck with cables that convert to a magnetic connector (we've used WSKEN branded stuff from a couple vendors via amazon since our Galaxy S8, for years. Currently working fine with our S21+. I'd give a link but the ones we have are old enough they've been replaced on the market. The magnetic breakaway is nice to have to ensure we never stress the usb-c connector on the phone.
i actually managed to work one in to the D-Dock I got for my GTI such that I can just slide my phone in and the magnets pull the connector on, and it all works. My wife has a RAM mount for her phone and the cable hangs off the bottom and never drops off - the magnet is just about string enough to pick up the phone by itself so holding the cable on is easy.
