Open the
??? sorry man i wrote a whole post that just disappeared :crying:

Basically :
• enable fast charge in battery settings
• enable charging as default charging method in dev settings
#lastly in my Xiaomi Jasmine android 1 there was an extra option that doesn't appear on all phones, models or even builds but that DOES exist which is a toggle to force allow or force disallow fast charge from dev settings ... similar how xiaomi offers the toggle to share wifi to wifi because this a feature removed from most android phones and so since amdroid 1 is more like base android , so maybe check for it
see the attached screenshots as reference...ive converted my jasmine to wayne so I can't show a screenshot
last but not least if there is no toggle and you have enabled it in battery settings and usb default connection is set to charge it can only be a software bug in which case file a bug report with xiaomi devs

Thanks for your time man.
I don't know why, but neither of your two options work for me. Their is no toggle in the battery settings, or a option in the devs menu. I'm probably to dumb to find it, there is no way they would remove such a setting right?

[KERNEL PATCH] Force AC (fast) Charging

This was a pretty big hit with the gnex and nexus s guys so I figure that I would extend it to the aries series phones:
This is for kernel devs only. The patch itself is useless to those who do not/can not compile their own kernel.
This patch allows one to force AC charging for any charger that is detected as USB (e.g. many car chargers) and pull the full current the charger can support. It also provides additional security when connecting to public charging stations because by forcing AC charging, USB/adb data transfers are disabled, protecting your data.
Fast charge can be toggled by issuing:
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
and off:
echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
Some roms (AOKP) have also implemented toggles.
In addition I have created a toggle fast charge widget that may be used to toggle fast charge on and off right from your home screen:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incredicontrol.fastchargewidget
For the widget (or any fast charge toggle) to work, you MUST be running a kernel that has this patch implemented.
As a good gesture to support a fellow dev, I ask that if you implement the patch into your kernel, please link to my widget as one means to toggle it. You are of course free to provide other ways to toggle it as well if you so desire.
Kernel devs, if you would like to test the widget yourself to confirm its working, and for convenience of testing, please contact me and I will provide you with a copy. You must show that you are a kernel dev though (i.e. link me to your kernel post so I can match your username).
Here you go. Good luck have fun:

enable battery percentage?

is there a way to enable battery percentage on the nokia 8? not yet updated to oreo so not sure if it'll be available once i update?
seen it can be done by enabling UI tuner but not sure if enabling this would have an negative consequences?

does any note9 stock or custom rom have protect battery fearure?

like attached, it will only allows you to charge the device up to 85%
Settings > Device Care > click on Battery > three dots menu (top right), Settings > Protect battery (bottom)
Nop with the European version of the phone having the latest android 10 ITV with January's security patch. Dosen't have this at all and under fast cable charging I have fast wifi charging that you don't have.

why you say so? on tablets only?
afaik it can be added to the kernel as a feature long time ago. anyway, don have time to examine it yet as i am still looking for a n960f 512 bargain, but i really think this is a plus

I own a Tab S4 on OneUI 1.1 currently and it has Protect Battery I've also been to carrier stores with tablets on display that have Protect Battery but my Note 9 updated to OneUI 2 lacks that feature same with individuals I've talked to with S10's report not having the option as well. But you can still get that feature as long as you are rooted no need to modify the kernel. Im pretty sure there is even an app on the Play Store for it.
If you have root and magisk, you can use ACC (Advanced Charging Controller) and the ACCA app. I charge to 85% then reconnect at 75%. Good luck!

Opinions about battery idle

Good Day XDA Friends!, I would like to take opinions from you guys to a feature that may exist without us knowing (not sure).
As this post indicates(https://android.stackexchange.com/q...tery-but-use-connected-power-to-run-the-phone) Redmi note 8 supports BATTERY IDLE CHARGING which means using the phone plugged and while using it, it uses the plug itself to sustain charge and not the battery itself. This may prolong the battery life by lessen the battery cycles like laptops that have conservative modes. With that I would like to gather some insight about this feature if it will have some problems with the battery especially when doing something that is intensive. Thanks for the reply!
Great info !
i hope custom rom makers implement this feature in their roms ...

I think it's a kernel side not in custom rom. It works in every custom rom with specific kernel that supports idle charging
how to enable it?

I use ACCA Advanced charging controller app, there is an option within that to enable the OP mentioned feature. But of course, the Kernel has to support it, for it to work. But if your ROM does not support it, it is just a question of flashing a custom kernel.
ACCA can be downloaded from here or installed from the Magisk repo, although the Magisk repo version only has the Terminal to manage configuration changes.

I personally use Universal although it's implementation of Battery idle has only just been added, unfortunately I am unable to provide a direct link to it, but it can be found in the RN8 telegram group.

It is a separate app that allows you to tinker with other charging techniques. For example you can specify a cooldown rate when the battery is getting to hot, it allows you to use Battery idle providing the kernel supports it, plus more. The app is called Advanced Charging Control App AccA for short there is also a Magisk module in the repository for ACC but that is all command line. But it you install the app it does install that module as the app is just the GUI for the module.

Sorry that's my fault, you have to make sure your device is plugged in inorder to do the test properly otherwise it will fail.

Yes I would advise to disable any smart charging that's built into the ROM.
The developers do mention to check out the battery university link before using it. But the app does have its own profiles built in which can be accessed on the middle button, generally the the default profile is good enouth.
I could share my own personal settings but they definitely wouldn't be ideal for everyone, especially since I manually limited the charging current to 800ma. Which would mean it would take longer to charge the battery to the charge limit.

what kind of issues? no one has ever reported any issues regarding battery idle mode in supported devices, at least i never encountered it both here and in telegram group
probably issues will arise if the charger and cable is not compatible
im using it intensely these days, playing mmorpg while multi tasking watching youtube or browsing
what i notice is phone's temperature actually does not as hot when using the battery and if you afraid if the power might be too high you could just adjust it using acca module although it was unnecessary
you could just try, do at your own risk
for me having phone running like laptop is really useful

Question Battery drain on realme gt 2

I have an realme gt 2 , and the battery is draining fast due to quick device connect. I have removed all its permissions and force stop it. Its not working . Also the nearby share is always popping up when I unlock my phone even though it's turned off . Someone help me please.

Its off , but still running in the background
I also have battery drain with all permisions removed, this phone is looking for better net like a crazy, this is the real problem, the antennas are draining battery all the time.
My main battery drain problem is google services framework, is always in top 3.
The battery drain was bad for me too and I stopped the background running apps along with optimizing the battery to see which app consumes more battery. Now my phone is fine!
For those getting battery drain due to quick device connect, they can install the latest version of qdc from apk mirror.
It fixed the issue for me.

Thanks for the info I'll try this out!
Update quick device connect then the draining issue will be solved. I had this issue and it is resolved by this method. Hope it will be useful for all.
I disabled the app with ADBAppControl and that fixed it for me.
how long can i last the battery how many hours sot

Don't worry. If you have PC or Laptop, disable Quick device connect with ADB shell.
Go to Mobile Settings and turn on USB debugging and Disable permission monitoring.
Then connect your device to PC and open ADB Fastboot.
Then ADB devices - ADB Shell - Use PM user command.
You can simply disable much more apps.
