I followed the guide posted on (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614) the forum on how to do so but when i boot the device afterwards i get a message saying my NFC is updating do not turn off the device and the phone restarts and continues on bootloop cycle. thanks, i did that and sony pcC says " no new software update for your device" :/
i flash many .FTF's and the XZ make a bootstall but that's all
any other solution?
Try to repair it using SEUS or Flashtools, i think SEUS is best solution. It looks like you need to wipe all your user or system data, because it's not just bootloop. Just download this awesome tool, connect your phone in flashmode and if there is no new update just tick repair and let it be.

Try it with Sony Update Service. That should work. Just download the program on the Sony website.
Gesendet von meinem C6603 mit Tapatalk
I tried to update my Sony Xperia Z through Pc Companion to android kitkat... All was good until the program poped up a window and said that it couldn't download it anymore because of a network problem ( my internet connection was good, no problems ). And from that point on, when i try to open the phone it says " the software update failed, make sure the phone is connected to the computer and try again " and blacks out... also i think the battery is dead and i cannot charge it because it says only that and turns off...
Please help me... I don't know what to do anymore...
i tried with sony update service, it downloads the update and when it's about to install. says to make sure the battery is fully charged and try again... and i cannot do that... What to do ????
If it matters, it's a C6603 ...
sorry for my english..

I had the same problem as OP and resolved it using SEUS - can confirm that it works.
Download SUS (formerly SEUS) from here: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Firstly i want to note that my battery is certainly dead, and i can't charged it beacause of the restart/boot loop that i mentioned in my early posts...if yes, can you guys provide me with necesary tools, firmaware and stuff, because after all the attempts i tried, i'm afraid to do something else to the phone. I mean i was stupid in the first place to not ask how to do it properly, and i don't want to lose the phone...
And sorry if my English is rough

Bricked!! -.-
Hey guys, I don't know if this is out of topic but since this is for xperia z bricked, I'll show my problem.
So, I updated my xperia z for 3 times since I bought it, It came with Android 4.2.2 and the updates were all OTA.
Then, sudently It started to reboot itself and entering in bootloop.. Then, I tried to use flashtool but always gave me error about S1 flash, and then "Error: Flash Aborted"
So I tried to unlock my bootloader several times (Yes, several times, because it was always saying ok, but then it was showing "ROOTABLE") then, when I Finally got it unlocked, I couldn't flash anything because it was gaving me error saying that couldn't write boot.. Then, Tried Pc companion but again, failed, and my phone was stuck in "Update failed (...)"
Then finally, I flashed advanced kernel by DoomLord and entered in CWM, but when I tried to wipe factory reset, It was saying that couldn't mount data.. Then, I have formated the Data and Media (SD Card) And then, I was able to do factory reset, but, then, I went to advance and did reboot recovery.. My phone turned off, but never came on... I arrived at home and connect ti to wall charger, but no sign of life, nothing, not even red led or anytihng.. NOTHING!! Don't know what happened.. I really need help on this man, please :c

You can find the drivers in flashtool\drivers. Make sure to wipe internal storage when flashing. It should prevent you from app related errors

Use Sony pc companion.
Follow the steps in the repair section. That should fix it.... You prolly flashed via flashtool without enabling unknown sources and maybe without USB debugging.

When I plug the phone by usb. It starts in flashmode, but my PC Companion don't see phone. What should I do?
Had the same problem, repair with PC Companion worjed for me. As I remember I went to Software Updates and somewhere there is a link to 'Repair your Phone'. As I'm not at home, I can't look after the exact steps, but should be easy to find (or search after 'PC Companion repair phone' ). After this simply follow the steps shown by PC Companion.
huh guys, thanks. It works, everything i need to do was choose repair option with unpluged phone. Thanks for help

This has happened to me a few times. I've had a couple of failed flashes. Just reflash and it's usually ok. I think the Sony drivers are a little flaky.
Hi ,
I am trying to give your answer and you should search into the net .
Hi,
I am a new member here Thats why same condition to me.so i will try my level best to get answer.
If you're using the firmwares from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z4/general/ftf-stock-rom-e6553-sov31-402so-03g-t3136161) then you use should the version of flashtool in that Google Drive folder (0.9.18.6). Using the newer 0.9.19.1 gave me the same stuck on modem.sin problems.
