Actually, I've done that to my device several months ago.. So, I hope I still remember how to do it.. Okay, let me try..
First, what OS do u use? Have you installed Android driver? You must have adb to do this..

Well, I'm not using Windows so I don't really know how..
But, as I remembered, you can install the driver via the CD which is bundled with ur phone, or maybe you can search it on Google (Android USB driver)

Plug your phone to your PC via USB port, then open command prompt (Start » Run, type cmd.exe & enter)
Type adb shell, enter. You should see something like ... $
First, I need to know some info, type mount (enter) and tell me the result..
EDIT: before adb shell, you should activate USB debugging: Settings » Developer options » USB debugging (check if not checked)

Rooting:
Root access can be achieved on the LG L Fino using PurpleDrake.
Initially created for LG G Series devices, it seems to work quite well on devices running a fork of the same firmware such as our Fino or the LG L Bello. It's easy and only requires you to hit next.
Be sure to install SuperSU or Superuser from Google Play afterwards.

Unlocking the bootloader:
Unlocking the Bootloader of an android device is required in order to install custom firmware such as recoveries or ROMs. Fortunately unlocking the bootloader on the L Fino is easy as pie. All you have to do is download a file and type a bunch of commands in the terminal. Be careful not to make a typo or else you might HARD BRICK your device.
Instructions:
Root your device.
Download the required file for your device:
D290X
D295X
Place the aboot.bin file right in your SD card. Not in any folder
Using terminal emulator or ADB SHELL execute these commands in order:
Code:
su
dd if=/storage/external_SD/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6
Reboot your device.
Your bootloader is now unlocked!

Currently there is only ONE NON STOCK BASED custom ROM and numerous stock modifications.
CyanogenMod 12.1 by @christpp, me and @proudlytm - HERE
A bunch of stock based roms - HERE
More ROMS will most likely appear after CM 12.1 gets up and running propperly. For now we all have to wait. Stock based ROMS do not use custom kernels and as such do not have features like Overclocking.

Hello, I'm looking for a way to get my d290g's original firmware back, but I can't flash it from the d295 firmware. It has the d290 bootloader and it's recognized as a d290g, but the firmware it's from the d295 version. can I get it by using a d290's TWRP backup?
Appreciate any help.

The problem is that it stops flashing at 2%, I'm pretty sure because the program is checking the aboot or maybe the build.prop or any other file that is saying that my d290g is a d295 instead
LG placed a new update for D290N, V10G (last one was V10E). I've flashed this KDZ through the LG Flash Tool 2014 with success. After messing with it, I haven't actually found out what's been "updated", probably some bugs and stuff.
So I wanted to root it and flash TWRP, but then I've found out that I somehow cannot root it. Attempted to root it with PurpleDrake method, failed, then tried the KingoRoot method, failed also. Seems like they messed around with that.
I'll try flashing the V10E sometime when the CM 12.1 gets less buggy and try to root it then (was successful the last time).

Rooting DOES NOT work on XXG firmware.
Thanks
Yes it does, just use Kingo Root and replace the su app with Super Su. The only prob I saw is that Xposed doesnt work on the new update, but Stagefrigth and other exploits are fixed, prob some optimizations for the system aswell.

There will never be a Jellybean ROM for the device. Jellybean is outdated, slow and insecure.
Check tutorials online. There are many tutorials on how to expand the data partition.

Hi. Search the magic partition wizard. I have same problem and i've solved with magic partition wizard. But i can't explain how i do, cuz my english not good. Now i'm using 8GB ext sd card as internal application memory
This phone have overclock to 1.4 GHz ? ?
Sent from my Moto E using XDA-Developers mobile app
After many fails to root v10c with Purple Drake and many others, i have rooted it with LG Root Script v1.2
[URL="http://www.droidviews.com/easily-root-lg-devices-using-the-one-click-root-script/[/URL]
I've done the root with PurpleDrake but with some tricks because PurpleDrake wasn't able to permaroot my LFino, just succeed with temproot.
If you can't permaroot your phone you can't run with su permissions in terminal emulator or using adb in normal phone session.
The second problem is that I can't mount the sdcard, tried many different options that were in forums but none results..
Here it's what I did:
1- Run the specific purpledrake script for your OS
2- When the script told you that has temproot your device just close the script without trying permaroot, but do not turn phone off
3- Open a terminal and go to the path where you have the 2 files (TWRP recovery.img and aboot.bin)
4- Push the files
adb push aboot.bin /temp
adb push recovery.img /temp
5- Run this commands
adb shell (a $ will appears after run the following comand)
/temp/fakesu (a # will appears it means you're running with SU rights)
dd if=/temp/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
dd if=/temp/hidden/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6
adb reboot recovery
now you've installed the TWRP Recovery and you can put roms on device, keep in mind if you boot the phone in normal mode after doing this there's a possibility of your TWRP recovery get's swapped by the OEM recovery (OTA updates??)).
if you pay attention to all the passes you'll notice that I wrote on the second dd command /temp/hidden/aboot.bin instead /temp/aboot.bin, that happens because when I list the files on my phone after push them I saw that the aboot.bin gets pushed to a folder called hidden inside /temp, check if in yours happens the same.
keep in mind I'm not responsible for this, this is just an help for those who can't get permaroot with script, a simple letter or space in the last commands can brick your phone.
In terminal emulator firstly I wrote "su
dd if=/storage/external_SD/aboot.bin", and then the entire text again. The phone is still working, restarting it will HARD BRICK it ?

This worked for me on d290g with v10d-SCA-XXX firmware, thanks!
So,I've rooted my lg l fino with Purple Drake before few days, installed supersu; because I wanted to find alternative way to move all apps on sd card (I found out that rooting your phone will allow you to do this and because my android is kitkat,I have no control over moving all apps to sd). So,I've installed lucky patcher (app that needs root),tried to move some app to SD that I downloaded and guess what-it says: "Moving to SD card finished with an error (try again): pkg: /data/app/
#name of the app
failure
[INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]''
My storage is not a problem,on SD card I have almost 5 GB of free space. The app I tried to move had only 5 MB.This was just pure test, nothing more. After lucky patcher I downloaded some app called Link2SD,something like that. That app didn't work either,so I stopped downloading apps that maybe could help me. If I am missing something,I would be very happy if someone puts me in the right direction. On other forums people just say ''buy some expensive phone if you want so much internal memory". Instead of helping, they are judging people for not having money for expensive phone.Just to be straight,I don't need my phone for very large apps like games,I use Bluestacks for that. If someone has some tips, anything,I would be gratefull.Lg l fino is a solid phone,I have no need nor money to buy expensive phone.

Hey everyone I'm looking to root my Canada Telus P20 pro. I'm looking to Unlock my phone , install twrp (or on ramdisk) , SuperSU or magik my stock room.
downloaded Tool All In One but it doesn't support my device: CLT-L04. The text in blue means it's "unsupported"
After reading around some more I came across this thread. Which explains you can get the key and unlock the phone yourself, HOWEVER the website does not have CANADA line. I can't pass the sign up screen because it needs to send a text me to verify but the area codes are non-canada.
Also came across this thread. Can some explain how this works?

Good stuff. You made it this far. Now there is this one rom but you have to rebrand the phone to L29 using Funky Huawei or something like that but then even if you manage to do that there is only one stock rom and one aosp rom I don't think either are worth losing VoLTE over but that's me.

Here is my problem. Everytime I restart my phone Swift keyboard reinstalls itself.
Root uninstaller pro reports I'm rooted but system partition isn't r+w (read / write) so all I can do is disable applications but some of them re-enable itself apon restart...
Also if I update magik manager to latest version , causes magik manager to close when I tap the icon. Which means any application that requires root also closes when trying to request root. I have to uninstall magik from system settings. Reboot into TWRP and flash old magik version.

Use magusk 16.0 and DO NoT update magusk manager. Delete apps you do not want straight from System /apps and System/private apks
Thanks, is it worth it to upgrade magik?
I have a small problem. HTC 10 my last phone, when press recent apps or square button and close all apps it would close all of them. Here I click the garbage icon it says closed all apps but minute later they all reappear. Just wondering a way around this.
Same time about 10 sec apart
I haven't updated the phone, it's still on Android 8.1.
Have the later EMUIs improved the phone overall or actually made things worse, like worse cam / battery performance?
Also what do you recommend one must do with the Pro 20 that has a great effect? I mean, without root I cannot make use of any backup like Titanium, cannot use TWRP.
I just uninstalled the most apps I don't use like ebay, amazon and facebook.
But Huawei has quite a few unnecessary system processes that you cannot delete so easily, telemetry stuff I assume.
Emui 9.1 is pretty good. Better than 8.0 imo
Also, you can disable some system apps using adb
Pretty much use this command:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 (app file name that can be found using App inspector)
Can you roll back to 8.1 again even without open BL and root?

Hi!
I've unlocked the bootloader, and got Magisk installed (patched?), and I'm granted root.
And I got the possibility, and am able to uninstall Google- and Xiaomi-related apps that I don't either need or/and want on my device.
So I wanted to ask if there's some list someone can refer me to that's updated, and reliable year 2020?
Since I'm good with removing apps/packages that I shouldn't, since I mostly end up in bootloops, having to restart with everything, so that's the reason why I ask?
My goal in the end is to be able to get rid of as much as possible of Google and Xiaomi-related APK's/packages.
With best regards.
Check attachment, long list
Also you need to disable ads, find youtube videos for info.
I don't remember the exact steps, quite easy but take time.
ps.
I'm on MIUI Global 12.0.4
Rooted with Magisk 20.4
Regards,
kevin168
You can disable pre installed apps permantly, without uninstalling them (I mean, changing the system).

Change com.android.chrome to desired package name.

Certainly.
I'm not sure about it.
But probably there are many and many apps designed for parental protection.
You need to try each one and see if it is enought to you.
I have an ideia.
You can install another launcher (like nova launcher) and hide unwanted apps from drawer.
Good luck

"the root will go away" you need to flash using fastboot and avoid flashing the boot partition and root will keep working.
"programs will be erased" you don't need to erase your data for upgrading. you can flash and update your system without wipe data.
