Yesterday out of no where my phone died. it was just sitting on my couch and I went to turn it on and it was completely unresponsive. Could get screen to turn on, charging light wasnt lighting up, couldnt get into recovery or DL mode with button combos. I put the phone on my wireless charger and even though I knew the battery wasnt dead i would leave it for few minutes. I could see it was charging even though the light on phone wasnt on, the light on bottom of charger was on indicating it was charging. From what I knew I had at least 30+% when this happened.
After about 15 minutes I was able to ONLY get into Download mode and was able to reboot from there. Once phone restarted, everything was fine, battery was at 40% just like i thought. Like nothing happened.
I decided to Factory Data Reset the phone and start fresh. Ive had it since the Note 9 released and never reset anything.
After the FDR the phone was still on the April 2020 patch, I thought I would have to download all the updates again. Is this right? I FDR'd from the recovery menu, not the settings app.
Phone feels so much better now starting fresh on the April patch. I was losing around 10-15% battery over night on stand by. Last night Iost 3%. I remember it was like this when I first got phone. Guess I will FDR more often.

I do FDR every month whenever i update to new security patch.

So I flashed my phone to cm4.2 last weekend and everything has been quite dandy. But I now I have a problem, and I kind of doubt its from the cmod because that was a week ago and this problem happened yesterday...
Yesterday I was talking on the phone until the battery died. Then I rushed to my charger and plugged it in. I tried to turn it back on but it would not. It goes to the G1 screen then to the CM boot animation screen then the screen turns BLACK! IT will not stop doing this. I have to keep pulling out the battery. Last night I even pulled out the SIM and battery for a few minutes. Then put them back and tried again. Same result. I charged it fully last night (while off) thinking that might help. This morning after the LED light was green I tried again to reboot the phone.. Also sometimes the phone will do this reboot sequence after I plug the charger in, but it still goes to the blank/black screen... awww..
I am really hoping I do not have to wipe the phone and start over again with my apps and stuff because I have not really found a great free backuper and have not backed up within the last few days. I can use home+end call button to get to the bootloader (right name?) screen. However I am REALLY hoping I do not have to wipe.
Any solutions? I tried searching but could not find an answer..

I have this installed [ROM] CyanogenMod-6.1.0-RC1 for Hero CDMA
I was running wifi tethering and installing a game called chess.
I heard my phone vibrate quickly and the screen was black. I tried to turn it back on. But nothing. So I removed the battery and waited a couple minutes. I cant get it to come on.
So I plugged it into a charger and the red/orange LED is on as if it is charging.
The phone will not even attempt to start up
Any ideas?

Phone just seems dead to me... probably just needs to charge for an hour or so
If it's not charge up and running by now, you'll need a new battery.
Thanksgiving day I had my phone on but was doing things around the house and when I went to check my phone it wouldn't wake. Holding down the power button, nothing, it was dead. I know the battery wasn't drained. So I plugged it into my USB and the light didn't turn on either. I sat staring at the phone for a few seconds to troubleshoot and it suddenly began to boot up and after everything loaded I could confirm it was half charged.
I'm running the same version of Cyanogen as you. Are you using the original battery or 3rd party? Mine is 3rd party.
Have you had other strange occurrences leading up to this? Twice in a week I woke up to find my phone on even though I know I shut it down the night before and not accidentally rebooted.
Since I was able to get my phone to boot back from temporary dead the phone has frozen twice while texting. I didn't battery pull or anything, it just rebooted by itself after a few minutes. I plan on switching back to my old battery to see what happens.

This morning, however, when I woke up, it was off (even though I had left it on) and I couldn't get it to turn on at all. I didn't have time to examine it much before going off to school so I just took it with me (despite its apparent uselessness) and it never turned on. Now that I'm home I am able to look at it more in depth, but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.
Every time I plug it in to charge, the LED light comes on for about 2 or 3 seconds, and then turns off again, I'm not sure if that means anything. On two occasions now, I've been able to turn the phone on to the point where it shows the HTC logo, but that lasts for a second or so and then it shuts off again. I haven't been able to get it past that point.
I haven't gone through any changes with the phone as of recently. I haven't even installed any new apps or anything for awhile now. I really don't know what would have triggered this sort of behavior. It just seemed to happen for no reason overnight.
Any ideas and/or help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like your charge port crapped out...
You can find em on amazon...
Spend at least $12 USD...
It takes about 20 minutes to replace
Help, my htc velocity 4g telstra is no power, the battery was drained then i charge it but my phone wasnt able to charge it. and the LED light is not turning on. then i tried to consult to a technitian and they said that my phone is on soft bricked. how can i recover it. please helppppp:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

You should have read more before flashing clockworkmod...
You need another battery... And twrp or wcx recovery...
Flash either recovery... Except cwm... Then put your battery back in and voila... It charges...
The first Moto G started off fine, though fairly constantly laggy (which I blamed on the low/mid specs of the phone.) Then it started getting quite warm while using it, then it started turning off with 5-10% battery left and would not turn back on, even after charging, unless you tried to turn it on 4-5 times. The first few tries, the white LED would just blink with no other sign of life from the phone. Soon after, the camera stopped functioning, so I decided to send it into Motorola for repair/replacement. I couldn't get the phone to factory reset normally, so I factory reset the phone using fastboot. Upon reboot, it took FOREVER to boot back into Android. I honestly thought the phone was bricked it took so long. Once it got booted, I shut it down, boxed it up, and sent it on it's way.
Replacement phone came and all was good again. Camera worked, phone didn't seem laggy this time, and phone charged and discharged like it should. This lasted about a week. The phone started getting warm during use again. The phone shut off at 22% battery and would not charge a single percent on the charger or turn on for at least a half hour. I decided to prep this replacement to go back to Motorola to try again, and again had to factory reset using fastboot. Again, the reboot after factory reset took FOREVER. I wanted to know how long this actually took, so I timed it. I've seen phones that take 5-10 minutes, but this Moto G takes the cake at 20 WHOLE MINUTES.
I am seriously considering jumping ship to something completely different if this is just how this phone is. Very disappointing for it being such a highly rated phone on several websites. Is this normal or did I get 2 lemons in a row?
So my turbo just turned 2. For the past 6 months or so been having some weird issue. I was on RR Remix for a while, then went to CM14 by BBH27 for a while, and then back to RR, and now on ComputerFreak Stock. I don't have any issue with charging the phone. Quick charge works just fine.
I have had issues where the battery will just be dead even if it was at like 50% and confirmed charging.
I thought maybe it was my stupid charger (I have another that I have yet to test) but then last night, after charging my phone before I went to bed i unplugged it. I woke up around 6:45 to find my phone once again dead. It looks like around 2 am the battery just fell. Dead. Just gone. I go and hit the power button and i got 1%. The battery graph looks as if i turned the phone off. For the most part my battery last all day 12+ hours with some good usage too.
I'm getting ready to flash back to stock now that full stock MM is out now to flash and see if that makes any difference.
For what it's worth, my Turbo would just straight up shutdown when I was on RR. And not go through the shutdown process, just crash to a powered off state. It would happen if the battery was full, low, or anywhere in between. I don't know if that's the issue you were experiencing, but I suppose it's possible.
My daughters is having the same issue.
Anyone have a solution?
I've tried clearing caches, battery recalibration, etc.
Going to see about doing a fully clean install tomorrow if she is okay with it.
When this happens and the phone just shuts down, does the battery percentage immediately jump back up when you plug in a charging cable? I was having that problem when using wireless charging a lot. It turned out be a battery calibration issue. You can re-calibrate by holding the power button and KEEP holding it when the "Power Off" dialog pops up. The phone will eventually reboot itself then leave it overnight on the factory turbo-charger.
One warning - Since the marshmallow update, performing this procedure seems to wipeout your BT connections.
