My Note5 downloads firmware updates, but after trying to install them, I get message "Failed to update software. Failed to update firmware. Visit Samsung service center." I tried many times. I factory reset the phone many times and tried again. Nothing helps. Tried to do it in safe mode, with developer options on, no change. Anyone had the similar issue and resolved it?
These are my specs:
Android Version 6.0.1
Baseband Version: N9200ZHS3BPI3
Kernel Version: 3.10.61-7582968
Android sec patch level 2016 SEP 1

Hello Guys,
I had rooted my SGN before & restored to stock ROM DXKL2. However whenever i tried to update the firware from Software Update, it always says "Failed to update firmware. Try again using PC software (Kies) or Visit Samsung Service Center".
The update download & installation seemed to run well accordingly, but after reboot with "Uploading Media Files" display, the screen simply goes off half way for reboot again, and once SIM PIN gets input, the above display shows up.
May i know how is this happening? Thanks in advance.

What was the Firmware version when you bought the Phone?? If it is different than KL2, Try restoring firmware which was ter when u bought it. Then Update via Phone or Kies.
Thanks for the tips, Mr Ranjan.Alva. It really worked when i flashed it back to its out of the box stock ROM DXKJ3 Gingerbread 2.3.5.
It could simply download, install & reboot perfectly to latest ROM DXLA1 now
The 104.35MB (presumably) OJ9 update since last November has always failed at around 30% installation with the "Installation interrupted" message. Because I can't install this update, I can't get the Marshmallow OTA update to get pushed to my phone. Also when I connect my phone to Samsung Smart Switch, it says "Your device software is up to date: OI2(ATT)" which can't be right. Is there anything else I can do or try at home before I take it to a Samsung Experience / BestBuy store to try to have them push the updated software to my phone? Thank you.
Huawei EVA-L09 P9 No Update to Android 7 Nougat or EMUI 5 ? EMUI 4.1.1 "No Updates"
I just purchased a P9 and its still on Android 6 Marsh mellow.
The current version its on is EVA-L09C432B182 ?
I just got the phone off eBay with a cracked screen with the intention of refitting a new screen and using this phone. I have done a factory reset on the phone and the phone did two updates, one was 500mb and the other around 1.8GB...
The phone is unlocked as my ID sim card works on it. Is there anything I can check to help the phone do the update to version 7 ? Do I need to sign into Google ?
Sorry I'm new to the Android platform. Thanks, Ken.

Finally found a method that worked! EVA-L09c432b182 -> 360
Hey guys/girls,
I have a Huawei P9 Eva-L09c432b182. Spent hours trying different methods on updating to Nougat to have the following method work.
1. Download Firmware Finder from the Android Google Play Store.
2. Set up WiFi connection with proxy (as per Firmware Finder instructions)
3. Selected the EVA-L09C432B378 Full OTA -MF-PV 71496
4. Went to "Update" in the settings,
5. Pressed back after new update package had been found and selected Download Latest Full Package.
6. Download completed, installed and optimized.
7. New Version = Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0 EVA-L09C432B378 - haven't found anything wrong / broken but will update if I find anything.
Hope this can help someone.
I then used this video to help understand the process but I am not allowed to post a video link, but the video title is "Firmware Finder tutorial (Huawei firmware update)" posted under the YouTube channel "Huawei Device" (Published on Feb 6, 2018)
Phone is now downloading EVA-L09C432B378 Full OTA -MF-PV 71496 at 2.27GB will report back the results of this. I'm in the UK and I suspect the phone although unlocked sold from EE/Three network store who are not allowing phones to update !
Update to Android 7 was a success very happy but still its annoying that these phones get stuck on older versions...

Where did you find the B378 full ota mf pv version? Can you send it to me?
I am running Android 7.0. I noticed that there has not been a security patch since 2017. I check for software update and there is one available that's almost half of a gig. I go through the steps to update. During restart, the progress indicator stops at 35% and phone starts up with the message that the update failed as it was interrupted. I have tried several times with same result even after factory reset. Also tried in Safe mode. Also connected to PC and SmartSwitch and says software is up to date. Phone works fine but it should be able to take the update. Any help would be appreciated. Considered a root but apparently AT&T version can't be rooted.
