I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but maybe someone can help. I went to add a new app to Magisk Hide and accidentally changed the options for the 'Google Play services' listing. Previously it showed just a '-', meaning that some options were checked and others weren't. What I accidentally did was tap that, so that the circle was filled with nothing. I tapped it again which causes the check mark to show, meaning all options are now checked.
What I'm wanting to know is what are the options checked under that area by default so I can return it to the way it was before. Or is there any negative effect to having all of these options now checked?
Again, apologies if this is the wrong section and thank you to anyone who can provide a quick answer on which to leave checked/unchecked.
com.google.android.gms.unstable
I am also wondering this. Is it bad or will it have a negative impact to put a check mark and enable hide on everything under the Google Play Services in Magisk Hide? I have it at default right now. with only 2 things checked.

Yeah, what happens if I turn all those on in the Google Play Services? What I'm asking is what benefit is there to turning all those options to hide value under Google Play Services? Or does it do no added benefit? Could it possibly mess things up in a negative way?

Play Services will start to act weird, will consume more RAM, might get force stopped, etc.
So tick unstable option
On the newer Magisk Manager releases, if you uncheck the box while it is collapsed (closed) and tick it again, it auto selects the components. If you tick the check while the box is expanded (open) it will tick all the components within it.
But now here's my question. When I did that on older releases for the Google Play Services box, it auto ticked com.google.android.gms.unstable and nothing else. Now on the latest Manager 8.0.7 (on Magisk 21.4) doing so ticks com.google.android.gms and nothing else, not even gms.unstable.
Is this the intended behavior? Should I still select to Hide gms.unstable or leave it alone?

When I'm in Google Now I should be able to say "Note to self" to make a reminder in the Todoist (or any other note app).
I have Todoist and Google Keep installed but everytime I try making a note, it tells me that there is no notes app installed.
The command itself is recognized correctly.
Any Ideas?

Working fine here. Possibly you need to change your google AND system language to english (us)
Okay I just changed my languages to German and tried it, I couldn't reproduce your error. See Screenshot. My last idea is that you have to be signed in in your google apps or establish some kind of linkage between now and keep.
Okay problem.fixed: gmail app needs to be installed (god knows why)
Gesendet von meinem HTC One mit Tapatalk
I just fixed this error by going to Settings -> Security -> Apps with usage access, and enabling Google Play Services.
This appears to be linked to an app being open that does something with system sound. I get this error occasionally and if I close apps in memory it goes away.
I have noticed this error often when I am using Google Maps for navigation, the phone is "off" (screen off, phone locked, still giving directions - you know), and I say "Ok Google.....Note to Self blah blah blah". Google Now will sometimes show "No notes app installed". But if I immediately say the same thing again ("Ok Google" trigger phrase or pressing the mic button then the "Note to self....") it works without issue. Any suggestions?
A little more info: I'm running Android 6.0.1 on a Nexus 5X on Project Fi
I know this is an old thread, but it shows up in searches...
Essential, Oreo 8.1.
Same problem, with Wunderlist.
Fixed by going to Security -> Google Services and Preferences -> Sign-in and Security -> Less Secure Apps -> Turn on.
I assume that others are having this issue, and wondering if there is some fix I may be missing short of turning off location services (find them helpful and don't feel I should have to cripple my device for battery savings). I believe it is linked to it using WiFi networks to search for my location, although my WiFi is toggled off. This across all ROMs I have tried, though randomly it doesnt happen but always returns.
Thought it would be helpful to have a place to have open discussion on this issue and see others impressions.
Thoughts, suggestions, fixes?

1. Settings > WiFi > Advanced > WiFi Scanning Always Available (disable)
2. Settings > Location > Google Location Reporting > Off,off
3. Use App Ops (built into roms known as "Privacy Guard") and go to Google Play Services and deny permission to Keep Awake (Read more, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-google-play-services-battery-t2832525 )
Why thank you!! I have done this, and will see how it goes. GPS wasn't in privacy guard within SlimLP but accessed it from settings>apps>all>google play services>permissions>modify

When you go into Privacy Guard, go to Menu (top right) and enable Show Built-in apps or something similar to that. Then you'll see GPS in Privacy Guard
Indeed!! Thanks boss [emoji106]
How do I do this with stock 5.0.1 / rooted
I really hate to bring this thread back to life and I apologize for that but I'm suffering from this bug and it's nasty. I'm barely getting 2h of SoT while other dudes are getting 3~5h of SoT. I did what this thread said and after tweaking with app ops freaking Google Play Services is going nuts crashing every 2 seconds, sometimes one right after another with that annoying message making the phone unusable. I'm on Pure Nexus 5.1.1, no CPU tweaks nor kernel mods. As far as I go with battery related apps/tweaks is greenify. Any ideas?
Did you make a backup before applying any changes in privacy guard? Have you reverted the changes you made back to the default? Also, try going to settings - applications and clearing data for Google play services
On BetterBatteryStsts com.google.android.gms is waking my phone up 3 times a minute. Does anyone know what this is? Is it neccessary for my phone to function? How do I disable it?

It's Google Play Services.
It may help to turn off Usage Data Access for Google Play Services.
I turned it off for all of my apps that have access/request it.
I've found these two apps to be of use,to make easy work of Googling what exactly an is/does:
PACKAGE INFO:

APP INSPECTOR:

How did you find out which apps have permissions for this?

Most all android apps are dependent on Google services. Generally speaking, Google services is heavily integrated throughout many system apps as well as downloaded apps. It's a core dependency. If you get com.google.android.gms errors, it could be one of many applications that can cause this. You would need to run Logs in order to find the culprit or try uninstalling applications one at a time until the error stops appearing. Once you find the app, contact the developer of the app and provide your log and ask for help.
Hey there, thatnks for the info.
But where can i find the logs for such cases?

com.Google.Android.gms refers to Google Play services, which is an essential component of the Android operating system. Google Play services is a collection of APIs (application programming interfaces) and background processes that help apps communicate with each other and with other services provided by Google. It provides features like location-based services, authentication, cloud storage access, and more.

I think they disable that option because it wasn't "smart " enough to detect if you were driving, a passenger or even on a train.
There are two options to enable DnD (do not disturb). None is a native option. First, like I do, install android auto and set the bluetooth device. The second one is an app named driving inspector.
Hope it helps.

It is possible to "copy" the native options from my S7 edge?
I want this function because I use it every day with no other app installed :/
PS: I searched "driving inspector" on google and play store but I can't find it.
I have finally got the last MIUI 12.5 update alongside Android 11. Everything was fine except the fact that I cannot remove the bubble notifications.
I have followed all the workaround online but it seems that MIUI rom is slight difference and I cannot find this option:

someone has fixed this?
Download activity launcher, search (with the search button) for notifications, then under the settings app entry, tap on notifications, it will open the settings page.
Xiaomi apparently forgot to enable the page in the settings. There are a couple more hidden settings as well, such as interpolated frames on videos and something with more vivid/hdr like recording of videos.

this is interesting: where can I check these video settings?
anyway I have managed to sort with the bubbles stuff: there is written "manage" under the bubble, so tiny that was impossible to spot. Anyway Xiaomi have to implement the settings because if some are hide then are useless

Just go through the settings app section, I don't remember which setting you need to open, plus I think it only works on the xiaomi video/gallery apps.

hold on, you are telling me to go to settings app section, but earlier you were mentioning to download activity launcher. Is this a third party app? I wouldn't install additional apps but, in case I have to, which app is? I cannot find on Play Store.
Whenever any notification comes, there is More option and.notifications from that app can be directly managed for future

I'm talking about activity launcher, go to the settings app section inside the activity launcher app and open all subsections one by one till you find it.
Here's the app.
ehi, anyway I think I sorted: there is a "manage" option under the bubble which is basically invisible but is there. once you click on that command you can remove bubbles and check other settings.
