Which one? How much is the difference between stock?
Personally, I've seen that performance is enhanced on custom rom and difference is noticable.
However, there are bugs in personal rom that vary. Example. My older device was running los and there was no choice over Bluetooth. This didn't allow me to talk using my car Bluetooth while driving.

Hey guys, ive been running CM9 on my touchpad for ages but want to move to a JB rom. Im going to be using my Touchpad as a media device for outdoor speakers i have in my patio so i can walk around and change music as need be (instead of having to go inside where the receiver is to change music then go back outside). I was looking for improved roms with better battery life maybe and especially working bluetooth with A2DP. Are there are any JB roms that fit the bill? Some googling turns up Jscullins roms, but i was reading he was only doing it as an experiment and figured his BT fixes would be included in more (and possibly better) roms. Something stable with decent battery life and working BT with A2DP is what im after. Any suggestions? Thanks folks.
also, if there is nothing that fits the bill what would be the best CM9 ROM that does? I have noticed that my current CM9 build has an annoying issue with the touchscreen where if im scrolling around and let go, sometimes it registers that as a tap/click. My girlfriend hates it. A smooth CM9 build with good battery life, good working A2DP BT for music streaming, touch issues fixed (which i heard of for CM9 builds so thats why i mention it), and stable would be awesome.
Well I am running JC Sullins 0808 CM10.1 (4.2.2) ROM, and this is working well with BT keyboard and mouse. I did sync it to the car for BT Audio and that worked fine on the 5-10 minutes I used it, not tested audio over BT for any longer than that.
Generally the ROM has been stable, and am happy with it. I hope his fixes make it back into the dailies/weeklies, but we'll see, been a while now.
I did a complete wipe and start again on the device to get it working, and so far very happy with 10.1. I also am starting to use BT Audio more and more, so BT is important to me.
Hi all,
Have been using my Jawbone UP on stock and custom rom's like Monx with the Xperia Z1 for some time now but as of recent I switched to an AOSP type rom, primarily Carbon ROM (great ROM) but the UP isn't syncing nor is it being recognised, I use my UP all the time and would like to have both the ROM and the UP working together.
Has anyone had any issues with theirs or some knowledge which may help besides going back to stock.
Many thanks
FYI, i'm using the wired Jawbone UP not the wireless one.
Hello everyone,
I have an old HTC desire 510 running stock 4.4.2 version 1.19.661.4. I am having some car issues, have an ODB scanner plugged into my car and using Torque Pro on my phone to connect to it through WiFi. This phone will always remain in my car, i will use it to monitor my car (speed, fuel usage etc). It will be running in real time. But i have been noticing some lag when the app is reading the information so i was wondering what ROM would be the best to use in this situation where i will only be using one app on my phone. Don't need to use any other app, not even messaging or email. I need a heavily debloated ROM I guess? 32bit? 64 bit? Maybe a custom kernel too? I don't mind rooting.
Any suggestions?

I actually gave my Desire to my sister, but when I did use it I really liked Cyanogenmod on it. The cameras don't work but it sounds like what you're using it for doesn't require any cameras. I'd go with CM 11 because 12.1 has a wifi bug so it'd restart everytime you loose your connection to the network (So everytime you turn off the car ). Cyanogenmod is nice and lightweight, and you can customize it to your liking.
As for the kernel, I didn't really experiment a lot there so I can't help much.
Btw you can't just choose a 32 or 64 bit OS, it has to be compatible with the phone. The International version is 64 bit, and you need a 64 bit os with that, the US version is 32 bit, and you need a 32 bit os with that.
Revmod ROM with pattiboii's kernel is what i'm currently messing around on. TWRP for recovery is very useful on this phone. Also linux on this computer made fastboot 100x easier than on windows.
Most people use these devices for wifi and mp3, basically an ipod. And Revmod has viper4audio GLITCHY with DOLBY bass boost, but working somewhat with headset, havn't had a chance to bluetooth with it much, but will in a week or so after i have my headset.
So, i've decided i'll get viper4audio working on a kernel, notcwmod. Also, revmod gives me about 800ish MB of storage after gapps and everything, so it's a great one to build off of. . . wish i had a source, for the ROM, but i do for a couple kernels
Oh well though, i'll figure it out, and probably in a month or two you'll see a finished ROM on here, but can't test service, as this one doesn't have service.
Hello,
I wanted to change the HU in my car, and gone for something mainstream (Kenwood DMX8019DABS). Although, I did want one of the Chinese Android screens for flexibility; but not want to deal with some of the reliability and sound quality issues.
As the new Kenwood HU has screen mirroring, and I was thinking if I could have some SBC running Linux or Android and use that for geeking on. That way, I have the daily stability of a stock HU.... but can still install any Android apps I want and maintain the display and touchscreen functionality.
I understand not many other people will have the same requirements, but I wondered if anybody had tried anything similar previously?
Would a stock version of Android be able to cast to the HU?
Many Thanks
Hi
I encountered a lot of Bluetooth problems with the newer roms - so which is a rom which runs smooth and has great Bluetooth performance?
Thx!

Lineage OS 16 for microG, or Lineage OS 16.
For both of this rom use also Tuned Kernel.
Debloated, Xposed and rooted Stock!
By bluetooth performance, do you mean one that doesn't constantly crash? I constantly lose connection to my bluetooth headset and the bluetooth on the phone seems to constantly crash.
I'm running LineageOS, Android version 9. It's really hard to even see what version of Lineage I am running because there's a long puke up of numbers next to the build number that doesn't make any sense.
If you want a flawless working with Bluetooth and the S5 you must install the stock ROM. It can be a debloated version, which is the best solution for me. With all Lineage builds you have problems. I think this is a general driver issue. Samsung wouldn't give out the code.
Same **** with sound and camera drivers. No stereo sound on self made videos or 60 fps rate.
