Red Magic 3S Verizon - Nubia Red Magic 3 Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if it will work on Verizon. Got a decent offer online in the buyer wants to use it on Verizon.

It's supposed to work on Verizon but it won't work officially. The phone has the bands, but Verizon is a CDMA carrier so it needs to register the device into their database to fully work. There are multiple workarounds to make it work fully, but it probably won't accept sms or mms. Some people have reported that it worked fully with an already enabled Verizon sim card.
The problem is not the phone - it's the company. They don't want other phones working on their network.

So, how difficult are the work arounds... Any way I'll be able to reasonably sell it to someone who wants to use it on Verizon?

Yeah, I read that... Different people say different things

I'm on Verizon. No data on 3g, but will still get calls and text on it. Lte works, but often where my pixel 2xl had signal I don't have it on this. As far as I have tried, I can't unlock band 13 and from what I read it seems unlocking bands on the 855 isn't possible with the software out there.

ممتاز

[Q] n1 unlocking

there is a cell phone provider in canada.
not tmobile or att..
they claim to get fresh inventory of N1's
they claim that they will be locked to their network only and cannot be unlocked at all..
level one rep couldnt tell me what band they use-- just that phones will use their own 3G
they will sell phones outright but said that they are useless on another network..
what stock can i put in what i was told?
thanx
Most probably - 0 credibility.
A nexus one CANNOT be carrier-locked. End of story. No matter where you get your N1 from, it WILL come UNLOCKED.

i shouldve been more specific..

You say that, but there are numerous reports of the French (SFR) N1's being carrier locked.

And it's about 100th time you're writing this and failing to read the reply - that ALL the SFR Nexus that were checked, weren't carrier locked at all. People report what the sales reps tell them.

It will be working on one of those. There are only 2 models of Nexus, one WILL work 3G with TMo, one WILL work 3G with AT&T. Nobody can change it without digging into HW and changing antennas, or at the very least changing the radio to restrict some of the communications - and nobody could get any of this done. HTC doesn't allow HW changes in their phones, and Qualcomm doesn't provide customized radio builds on demand (or at all).
Considering this, I believe the story of this carrier's rep has the same credibility as SIM lock of SFR Nexus - which is, 0.
im pretty sure they are going to videotron in Quebec. they use AWS.

I wasn't serious about 100 times, either
But there were 2 reports on this forum from people that bought the phone, were told that it's locked, checked it and discovered it completely unlocked.

One way would be to find the carrier on this list:

[Q] Droid 2 Global/Pro - unlocking?

Does anyone know if it will be possible to unlock the Droid 2 Global or Pro? I know they are CDMA devices by default but as they also have WCDMA SIM cards I would love to use this unlocked on WCDMA networks. I know some BB's on Verizon (and previously on Bell/Telus) were sold like this and unlocked so I'm guessing theoretically possible, but is it likely???
Hi that would be great so when I travel to EU I would just put a pre-paid SIM inside and avoid any Roaming charges.
Does anyone know? Maybe installing Cyanogen will unlock it?
Yes, I just unlocked my D2 Global yesterday. Call VZW Global Support and they will give you the unlock code as long as your line has been active with no late payments for at least 6 months.
There are still some kinks though because when I put in my foreign SIM and scanned for local GSM networks, nothing came up. Others on various forums have reported this issue as well. I'm hoping it's just that this happens while in the USA, but I'm waiting to see if anyone else can shed some light on it.

I wish that were the case lol. It turns out VZW may have somehow restricted access to the 850/1900 MHz GSM/UMTS bands, even though the device has the hardware to support them.
Q: Because it has two unlock codes. One unlocks any Sim card, the second code will be prompted only if the Sim card is not of any US carriers. Thanks

Subsidy Unlock and You. Well, Them.

I've been doing a lot of research on this but I'm still coming up short on a few answers.
I'm considering purchasing a Droid 3 but here's my particulars:
My personal service is V-dub. Business service is AT&T. Assuming I unlock the Droid3 can I use the V-dub service while I'm stateside and leave the AT&T SIM on-board the device? If so, is it possible to switch between AT&T/VZW service via software?
When I'm traveling international would I be able to switch to the AT&T SIM service without racking up mad billz on the VZW side of the house?
ANyone with some experience on this would be appreciated. If I can't do all this with one device then I'm leaning to buy a Nexus S.
I wanna say you can because your phone allows you to switch between GSM/Global/CDMA.
I believe this can work with the XT860 model from canada, the US XT862 however, cannot move between US carriers, but can be used anywhere outside the US
At least, that's what I've gathered from lurking here for a while.

According to a guy at this link Team Black Hat sells a *full* unlock code for the 3's which will allow it. This is unconfirmed but I'm Googling...
if i recall correctly, TBH offered a version of the D2G baseband firmware which they'd modified to run on any network, this cost you $100 and you had to mail it to them
i believe Cellzealot has stated that this method wont work on the D3

TBH released the band unlock to the public couple of months ago.It is now free. It only works on the oldest D2G radio firmware. Newer firmwares cannot be unlocked since Motorola moved the protection inside baseband which due to locked boot loader cannot be modified. This method will not work on D3 for the same reason.

PSA: Tencent model of Rog Phone 2 blocked from Verizon networks

So everyone knows, Verizon refused to allow my Verizon SIM cards to work on my Tencent Chinese version of the ROG Phone 2. They said the IMEI is not approved for use on their network (I tried both IMEI for both SIM slots and got the same result). They claim to have no way to make an exception to allow the phone and that Asus would have to go through the certification process for the China models (which they will probably never do).
The phone works fine with T-Mobile since they don't seem to require a certification process for phones to be used on their network.
Ah, that's really unfortunate. Hopefully the international version will work with Verizon. The ROG Phone 2 is so close to being perfect, but if it can't be used on Verizon that will sour the experience for a lot of people in the states.

Very strange, put in my Verizon sim yesterday and got data out of the box with 4G+. Called Verizon and gave my IMEI they said it registered on the network and submitted a form to have it added. S/b active today or tomorrow.

Cool. If you get it fully activated without that work around for calls, Asus may need to ramp up production. There's a lot of us Verizon users chomping at the bit for it. Lol

If I get it, it'll be the official U.S. Version. But good luck. If it works for you, that may be good news for the rest of us. The only issue I see is lack of frequency support on the Tencent version.
I wouldn't even bother. Verizon has some of the worse support for unlocked devices unless it's an Apple or Samsung of course! So frustrating..

Yes indeed you have.
So, does data work in any form on Verizon with the Tencent version? I just tried today (Nov 5th) and all the Verizon phone reps including managers who've been there years are claiming it is impossible to add the IMEI because the Rog Phone II still hasn't been added to their list of phones.
If anyone else really did get it to work, please clearly explain your steps.

if it's verizon and they are still doing on the 5 what they did on the 3, then probably no. On the 3, pretty sure the way verizon avoided issues with people running off with their not fully paid phone (using esim) was to have them made without an esim chip.
do you have the box yer verizon came in? does it have an 'EID xxxxxx' on it? then no, pretty sure it cannot ever happen.

I'd suggest read this thread. Even if you manage to get the device carrier unlocked, again, doesn't appear as though the vzw versions have an esim chip in them. If that is true, then there's nothing anyone can do to make it work.

That is not true. The P5 is eSim enabled no matter the carrier. The link you provided is for the P3 which is a different animal. The first eSim enabled Verizon Pixel was the 3a.

I'm well aware the 3 is a diff animal, and said as much in my initial post. And indicated that 'if it was the same as the 3', because I don't have a 5 and have no idea if it is or not.
All I know is that the 3, the vzw version, you can't enable it. And it appears the reason is that it simply isn't there on the vzw version.
I repeat again, for those that don't bother to look at the eniter 'context' of the thread, my reference is to the 3, not the 5. I'm only guessing the 5 vzw may be the same. I don't know that it is.

I guess you didn't realize you were in a Pixel 5 forum. That's excusable.. I guess. Your assumption about the P5 being like the P3 is incorrect as I stated. The link you posted is.. oh forget it. Suffice it to say you have no idea what you are talking about. If you have a question about the P5 ask it here.
That was really helpful. Oh well.
