How to flash MIUI without losing TWRP - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hello.
I have a question. How to install MIUI 12 without losing TWRP. The thing is, my Mi 9T Pro is damaged and my computer can't see it (probably the motherboard is damaged). I would like to install Miui but I know that after Miui Rom flash it changes to TWRP on Recovery XIAOMI. I would like to prevent this because if I download Recovery XIAOMI, I will never be able to upload any other ROM. Do you have any suggestions on how to do it?

It was asked/answered in other threads. After flashing the stock ROM from TWRP, reboot to Recovery/TWRP (not to system) and follow the posts #933, #935-#937:

You may try backup recovery>flash rom>restore recovery>boot

9t Pro bricked, can only access fastboot HELP

[SOLVED]
I need help I just bricked my phone and can only access fastboot.
I just unlocked my 9t pro to install a custom rom and followed the steps of this video ( can't post link but it's called: Redmi K20 Pro / MI 9T Pro - INSTALL Pixel Experience ROM Official | Android 9 Pie)
I managed to install twrp, made a backup of dtbo, boot, system and data and then wiped dalvik, cache, system and Data. After that I flashed DM Verity Force Encrypter and proceeded to flash havoc-os which gave me Error 7. I figured I might need to reboot the recovery, after doing so only fastboot comes up anymore. I cannot access twrp and have no OS installed. Please help.
If bootloader unlocked, you could use MiFlash to flash stock Rom

This is the problem with random YouTube videos, they don't always give good advice.
There is no reason to back up dtbo, unless you are going to install an overclocked screen refresh rate mod.
There's no reason to wipe system.
There's no need to install DM Verify Force Encrypter, unless you know what they are for and you choose to disable DM Verify and/or permanently disable encryption.
Go here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/raphael/
And choose the fastboot ROM for the version you want to install, then flash it in the Mi Flash Tool.
When flashing you MUST change the flash option at the bottom of the screen to 'clean all'. If you do not change this you will brick your phone (worse than it is now)
After this you can start again. Your best solution to flashing is to search these forums. There's many good guides here

Mi 9T Pro Global Issues Flashing Rom help

Mi 9T Pro 64 GB Global (MIUI Global 11.0.1 QFKMIXM) with Bootloader Unlocked
I keep running into issue when I install a ROM where one of two things happens every time I try...
I lose TWRP and the system boots directly to Fastboot (seems to happen with MiUI based roms)
I can re-push TWRP via ADB/FastbootTrying to flash any ROMs at this point will result in Error 7 (phone is wrong model)I cannot seem to figure out why or what to do about it. Going back to stock with MiFlash is the only thing I can get to work
I keep TWRP and the system either boot loops or boot directly to TWRP (happens with AOSP Roms)
When this happens it also scrambles sdcard and gives Unable to Wipe FBE Drive when trying to wipeThe only solution I've found to recover is use MiFlash to return to stock and then go through the unlock process again.
I have been trying to follow the ROM dev instructions, which tend to all go somewhat like:
Reboot to TWRP
Wipe Data & Cache/Dalvik (and sometimes System when AOSP)
Flash MIUI 11 vendor/firmware for your device variant (I am guessing this is where I am screwing up, but not sure how...I have also tried starting fulling stock w/OTA updates to see if it helps)
Flash the ROM
Reboot to System
I think this may be an issue of missing something simple, like the wrong FW/Vendor files, but I cannot figure it out exactly what I should be doing.
My goal is to try EvoX and LinageOS; however, at this point I have tried several others and would be happy if I could get any non-factory version working.
Mi device Mi 9T pro . After Flashing Rom my devices is bricked, not turned on. how can i solve this problem .
N.B Unfortunately i Flashed my device with Mi 9T rom.

miflash success very fast but doesn't actually flash

Hi All, it's time i clean up my K20 Pro as i have upgraded to a F2 Pro.
The K20 Pro has MIUI 10.3.17 CN ROM from about 10 months ago, bootloader unlocked, magisk etc.
When trying to miflash it with a MIUI 12.0.5 CN latest fastboot rom in order to get back to factory, the progress bar completes in 1 second, and status is green and success, BUT the phone does not reboot itself. Using miflash 20181115 with clean all option.
After i unplug phone and reboot it manually nothing was flashed - everything is still on there.
Any ideas?
Thought i would try doing factory reset from within the system and at first it appeared to be going thru the reset - however upon reboot, everything remains.
The other things is i have TWRP on it, wondering if i should do anything there?
Looking for assistance on what the correct procedure is...

Hi, how can one flash without miflash? and the miflash no believe is the last version I think.
Would prefer a miflash completely to get rid of TWRP too.
any other ideas why this is happening?

Xiaomi Flash Tool - Official Mi Flash Tool
Download the latest and Official Xiaomi Flash Tool from the Official Xiaomi Flash Tool Website.
xiaomiflashtool.com
try downloading latest flash tool from this website
if not then try flashing without flash tool and u will not be able to retain twrp if u flash fastboot rom by any means.
if flash tool doesn't work then just extract the zip i have attached here and paste all files of fastboot rom folder in this folder and run the flash_all.bat file and it should work if u have all drivers installed.
The newer miflash worked! thank you so much Ezio!
Would you happen to know if there is any way to get Google PlayStore onto a K20 Pro?
I saw some threads on 'just flash it with a global ROM' - which wasn't the case back a year ago when i had last tinkered.

yes i have an Indian k20 pro and i tried miui global rom it works fine except nfc didn't as Indian k20 pro doesn't have nfc hardware.
So yes u can do that if u want but do note that global rom has dialer and contact as well from google and not mi one.
I remember when I treid it a year ago it didn't work. The phone recognise the rom as for non-chinese and said the version was wrong. Are you sure?
Is the process same as fastboot flashing?
Guess of it doesn't work I should be able to fastboot flash it back again?
Thanks, I just found https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...Vaw1k6QstZklCOzbLJO2p_18T&cshid=1607339448068
I just have to remember not to lock the bootloader.

Question Bricked Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro

Ive been trying to flash a global rom to my xiaomi Mi 11 pro for some time.I have flashed twrp but obviously it doesnt stick around if the rom flash does not work. I cant seem to find one on the latest Venus firmware, every time i attempt to flash the latest available on xiaomi dot EU it comes up with the firmware is star/mars and your device is venus. i attempted to flash back to china recovery https://xiaomirom.com/en/download/mi-11-venus-weekly-21.9.29/ and this bricked my device.Unsure if its trying to boot the wrong partition a/b but then i dont know what im talking about really. Can anyone offer some advice on this?
As a side ote, the phone does not turn on, connect to pc, boot to recovery or reset mode.
Seems to me you flashed firmware for Mi 11 Pro, and you have Venus which is Mi 11, and this is Mi 11 forum. ? Also you don't need twrp to flash official firmware, global or EEA version.
You can find firmwares here.. mifirm.net or here c.mi.com

Mi 11 Pro is Mars and share the same ROM than Star (Mi 11 Ultra) but it's NOT Venus (Mi 11).
TWRP is the same for Mars/Star. Anyway your Mi 11 Pro has nothing to do with a Mi 11 Venus.
The only way is to flash the fastboot CN Official here
But apparently you can't access fastboot mode ?

TWRP Bootloop

When I try to install a ROM, no problem installing TWRP and flashing a ROM.
But when I restart, whatever the ROM it systematically restarts on TWRP.
Everything is back to normal when I reinstall the MiUi ROM.
I installed vbmeta, TWRP is kept even with the MiUi ROM.
I tried to install a ROM on MiUi but nothing happened, TWRP is launched systematically after restarting.
I tried with several versions of TWRP but nothing worked.
Also with LOLz kernel with and without; and Magisk too.
Sleep on it !
you have to format DATA and not Wipe !
Hello guys! I'm new here and don't know where to get help. My phone (Xiaomi 4g [phoenix]) has a weird bootloop to it.
I installed Miui 13 eu rom via the name of file is "windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format" now I get a bootloop that goes back to TWRP.
When i checked the my storage on my pc it only shows TWRP folder only. i don't know what to do. i've been sitting the whole day trying to figure to fix my phone.
I downloaded a Miui 12 and installing it via twrp. now after a few minutes of waiting and still get backs to TWRP.

sounds like your data got wiped, thats why theres only a twrp folder in internal. you should prolly full flash a fastboot rom since you mightve missed a few important steps
Hi Fonzacus
Please tell me
What is the reason for flashing that vbmeta img?
Is it always necessary when clean flashing latest crdroid custom ROM?

sorry for the super late response
its supposedly for bypassing android verfied boot (avb). it blocks unauthorized roms from booting. if you search for 'what is vbmeta', we literally get no info at all and mainly speculations (no official docs etc). imho it does seem true
