Today in the morning my phone was turned of. I've turned it on and while starting phone gives a sound "battery empty" and turns off itself. Yesterday it has about 50% of battery witch should be enough for 2 more days.
I've connected it to charger but when phone is connected to charger I can't turn it on :/ When I remove charger the phone starts but once again it turns himself off before loading desktop.
Battery voltage is 4.14V I've tested It with multimeter.
Did someone know what can be the reason?
I have original ROM WM6.1 PL
I have the same with my HTC Cruise. Now buying a new battery to see if it helps.
Try charging the device some more...
i think i remember reading somewhere that in extremely low battery conditions, you should leave the device off and connected to a charger...i guess the charging light will remain on (orange color) to indicate that the battery is being charged
leave it like that for a couple of HOURS...and THEN turn it on...see how that works for you before you go plopping out for a new battery
The problem is that this "battery empty" alert seems to appear randomly. Sometimes it's ok for days, sometimes PDA goes dead in a second. I can see two potential reasons:
1) the battery acts strange and PDA "sees" it as empty
2) it's a hardware issue that PDA will see every battery empty
I bought a new battery, now waiting for a shipment. And I'll let you know if it helps.
What about battery calibration?

search for threads about battery calibration or similar...i think you have to be in bootloader mode or something and you have to start from a drained battery and go up all the way to a full charge to let the hardware recalibrate itself or something...
forget about my ramblings about battery calibration...just search the forum for calibration topics just in case a new battery is not an option
Well, nothing's working for me. It seems to be some hardware malfunction :/
is it just my unit or anyone else have this issue? the battery indicator (lock screen and notification bar) shows 99% and just wont go up anymore.
UPDATE 2: Trick - when the phone stop at 99% while charging after a while, unplug the cable and immediately plug the cable back in. The battery indicator now should show "Charged".
UPDATE 1: Seem to be a safety mechanism to protect the battery from overcharged.
Also notice the following issues:
2) battery indicator may show as still charging when cable is already unplugged (only happened 2 times so far)
3) screen on by itself randomly while charging (not always but do happen some times)
4) battery discharging mechanism (to protect from over charge) may go haywire! It may go down from full/ 99% to 90% or less while still charging (may be related to (1) ).
Check your cable while charging. Also check to see if its charging as AC not USB. When it switches to USB, then screen will turn on.

Can't speak for the other 2 issues, but only charging to 99% isn't really a bug. This used to occur on the Galaxy Nexus. More reading here
Battery Charges Only to 99%
You can just ignore it, as it's apparently a way to safeguard the battery. Not sure the exact percentage point at which your battery stats reset, but it will have already occurred at 99%, for sure.

I was charging with AC, and I used a cable which is for charging only (can't transfer data). I tried it again today with the original cable from the Nexus 4 box, and have not noticed the screen turn on by itself again... Suppose it is the cable fault.
As for the stuck charging icon, it happened twice since I got the phone, but have not appeared again. Can't pinpoint the issue.

Ah... this is my first Nexus device. Surprised to find that it is actually a safeguard feature :silly: well as long as it is not faulty I guess I just have to get used to it. Thanks for sharing.
It has to be the dumb usb adaptor that comes with the phone. Mines charges perfectly fine to 100% using an LG AC wall charger I bought.. And even if I restart the phone it stays as charged at 100, USB would be at 99% when I rebooted..

yea my screen turns on randomly sometimes.
also, try this , when u plug in your charger to the wall but dont plug it into the phone , listen to it itll sound like its gonna explode.
Hi !
I had 2 Problems (running Win 8.1):
First: it only charged when OFF, not when windows booted.
Then: NO Charge at all after playing with a USB Hub (nothing defective, just unplugging and replugging).
I solved the NO CHARGE Problem this way:
I opened it, unsoldered the battery (easy, 3 wired, PLEASE isolate them, do NOT short the wires).
Then i sortened (bridged) the 3 solder "blobs" on the PCB with each other to drain remaining capacity from the "confused" charger chip i wanted to reset.
Then resolder battery, BAM, it works again.
My first problem remains --> only charging when OFF, but as i now have an AMpere meter conneted all the time i guess i have the solution !
My battery profile has a low brightness, my "powered" has a high brightness. So if the X98 detects the charger it starts charging (i can see around 1 Amp flowing) and turns up the brightness. BUT the bright screen drains so much power that the Voltage drops and the charging circuit senses that and thinks chargin is over and stops charging.
If you have around 75% brightness this goes on & off forever, my Ampere meter jumping between 1 Amp and 0 Amp all the time, brightness going up and down.
Solution (Well workaround): Set the "powered" brigthness to a low value and ENJOY charging.
Maybe Teclast can solve that via Firmware. If they care...
Greetings,
Nils
P.S. if that helps or you have a better Solution, PLEASE post here so we can see if that is just me or if this is a general situation !!!

I was having problems charging. After I restarted it began to charge. I also turned the brightness down. The charger sent is US power to usb adapter and a very short usb to micro usb cable. The volts and amps don't match my other chargers. I plugged the adapter with a longer samsung usb cable. Hopefully it will charge fine.
I have another problem. While charging my tablet shuts down due to thermal issue.
Hlo deep singhal, can u please contact me. I am from haryana, india & interested to buy x98 air 3g 64 GB. Please leave ur Phone no. If u can.

Hello, I have the tablet since two weeks and also had the thermal issues. Random shut downs in Windows while charging and freezes in android while playing.
When I got the tablet I updated directly to Windows 10 and android 5.
I followed the instructions from techtablets and made a hardware mod. Since then the tablet works as it should. There is the risk of bricking the tablet! This works for air 3g and the new pro as I understood, maybe for your tablet also.
Teclast X98 air 3g ii
My tablet continuously restart
not charge when it on then set low brightness.
Please help in start my tablet.

So, after using the tablet for a (long) while, it always shows that the tablet is charging.
I charged the tablet after this first encounter, while it was off, booted up and the battery is empty after ~15 minutes.
And also with removed cable it still shows that it is charging.
Does anybody else have that problem?
I do, i have an air ii that i bought on ebay and worked well for a few days, but now it gets extremely hot, and sometimes charges, sometimes it does not. Just like yours, sometimes it shows that is charging, even with the cable disconnected. If i dont get a refund, i don't know what im going to do.
charging problem after replaced battery
I just replaced the battery wich sais 3.7v instead of 3.8v was the old one. The problem is that it is not charging at all, even if I shut down. Do you know why?

anyone please?
Hello. My Note 5 started to show this weird issue while charging thru cable (please see linked video), sometimes it stop acting up and "cable charging" shows but charges super slow (like 5 hours or so to full charge) "fast charging" doesn't kick in either. Charger adapter and cable are good because I tried using it with my mom's S7 and it works great, fast charging and everything so it might not be the adapter nor the cable. Also, sometimes the battery says (for example) like 20% and suddenly drops to 15% and if i reboot, it boots with a different percentage (sometimes more, sometimes less) also, I should add that it charges fine thru wireless charging. anyone experienced this issue or something similar? Any help will be appreciated!
This is the video showing the issue, the video is not mine but it shows the issue I am having, mine is not as bad as the one on the video, but nonetheless is the same issue
I should add that I already tried formating the device and also tried Odin with the latest PH2 update and still does the acting ?
My phone is behaving weirdly.
Whenever I use the original fast charger to charge the phone, the data cable stops working from next charge onwards. It's damaged 4 cables so far.
Sometimes it doesn't charge despite being on charge and showing the same status. In fact the battery keeps discharging (e.g. put on charge when battery was 57, it becomes 53 despite showing charging status)
I know going to service center is the last resort. If anyone has any suggestion, please share.

Please observe the attached screenshot. Despite the battery showing plugged in on status bar, the CPU Z shows battery is not charging.
