Hello,
I'm really looking for help regarding my new Samsung Galaxy M31 phone i just bought.
I bought a phone which the seller claimed it is India/International version, however after I got the phone (after waiting for it for almost 3 months) I found out it is United Arab Emirates version, which sadly doesn't have Call Recording.
My question is:
1. Can I flash CSC of another country (India/International) in order to change the phone region?
2. Although I tried everything, I'm unable to get into Download Mode, even after enabling USB debugging, factory default the phone, wiping the cache, etc.
Instead of getting download mode I'm getting Android with Exclamation mark saying: No Command Installing System updates, and Than switched back to android recovery.
Please assist, Tried everything, and can't use the new phone.
Thank you.

You can try wiping every you can in recovery. If the phone boots up normally, perfect. If not try to enter download mode again and flash the original firmware
I want to replace my firmware to India so I can have Call Recording.
I got United Arab Emirates version on the phone, Although I tried e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g the phone refuse to enter into download mode, it seems like something is blocked on those version on the phone that the don't under download mode.
Any idea what can be done? please help.
thanks.
hold volume up + volume down for 10-20 secs and plug the usb cable, (that is connected to do computer of course) that shuold do the trick.
For me it did.
In samsungs firmware download pages it goes over it quite well. Look at the down right side of the page. ull see it

hey all,
i'm new to the forums here at xda-developers but i'm in ire need of some advice/help if you would not mind sharing your experience.
Okay the issue.
I have a galaxy note gt-n7000, it will not update via kies or via the phone itself at all for months. I'm from England and i purchased it on contract from carphone warehouse; some vital information about the phone are as follows:
Android version - 2.3.6
Baseband version - N7000XXLPT
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.7-N7000LA6-CL907341 [email protected] #2
Build bumber - GINGERBREAD.XXLA6
CSC - XEU
I have tried several things to fix this such as:
Factory restting everything - the sd card, the phone... No eval.
Attempting to change the CSC to a different one from XEU
Waiting to see if any more updates are as followed
reconnecting/rebotting my phone to ensure the connection is okay to Kies
Another issue of this phone is that it will not download anything from the website such as bus timetable PPFs in which it used to be beforehand, i am completely stumped by it
thanks for your time to read this and hopefully help,
Nozz.
P.S I don't really want to root my phone cause my warranty will void otherwise.
have you updated the kies? use latest version of kies to update it should work.
Since youre factory resetting, i presume you dont care for any data loss... You can go to recovery (turn off phone then press and hold volume up+power+home until the phone turns on) then do the factory reset there... (this is not touch interface.. You have to use volume buttons and the power button to select your option):highfive:
I entrust you to do this since you said youre running 2.3.6 but DONT DO THIS if you manage to get to Ice cream sandwich!!! We can never stop reminding people of this... DONT EVEN DARE to factory reset under settings on a stock Ice cream sandwich n7000..

This method should work if your phone is still a "virgin"

Yeah, according to Kies it is the updated version, and i also updated a galaxy s2 with it to ICS the other day...
Will going into recovery mode then factory resetting it work ?
thanks for your help,
Nozz.
Just factory resetted it, and once again it is coming up with it saying it is not possible tp update Via Kies :/
And Kies is fully updated
Also another thing i forgot to mention, the phone wants an update has it says new firmware is available through downloading from the phone then installing that way, however when i try this, it all goes okay, reboots, comes up with the little andriod symbol then it stops at roughly 20%, reboots and says it was unsuccessful, try updating via samsung kies.
thinking of just getting rid of it, but it's a contract.... Sigh.
nozz.
somebody made a program that you can use instead of KIES, it is called Checkfus.
google for it, or search the forum, i am sure you will find it.

Hi there,
I would suggest not to update more on Kies as Kies sometimes KIES(OTA OR the PC one) is quite not more reliable sometimes, sometimes you can upgrade sometimes you can't.(Just like a woman on her monthly periods )
Anyway, I would you recommend by just flashing it thru PC ODIN. Download your stock ICS software from this page -> www.samfirmware.com and look for the firmware on your region. Flash it and you should be good to go.
:good:
i'm quite new to flashing phones, i've flashed computer motherboard bios, but i can get inside them and change the mobo if it goes wrong however i cannot do that with a phone :/
Which one is safe for my phone, considering it's current build etc?
Advice would be appreciated.
I can't seem to find firmware that is suited for my PDA, CSC and Phone codes... Or will any UK firmware work?
Nozz.

Here you go bud ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 (courtesy of Doc Ketan, of course)
If you narrow down a bit, there's a firmware for UK there(Carphone Warehouse to be exact)
According to CheckFus there is no such ICS update for my specific phone, aka pda/phone/csc.... hmm... and also i can't seem to find any roms for my specific phone either...
I really don't know what to do now
Could someone take alook at my numbers in my first post and help me, as i'm pretty much at the end of my tether with this phone
i'll relist my phones information:
PDA: N7000XXLA6
PHONE: N7000XXLPT
CSC: N7000XEULP4
Build Info: Friday, January 20 05:38:08 KST 2012
That build info looks slightly dodgy considering this is supposed to uk phone, and i'm pretty sure UK gingerbread didn't come out at that point... hmmm.. got me thinking.
anyhow
Thanks,
Nozz
Hi guys,
My S5 was on 6.0 and have upgraded to 9 Pie but something went wrong (or I screwed up something) and I need to re-upload the original firmware, unless you have better suggestion.
Currently, I have TWRP installed as well as Android 9, however, when I turn my S5 on, I get: Set Warranty Bit:Kernel
It stays there for 30 secs then the phone boots up and everything looks fine, it connects to wi-fi etc.
One other strange thing is that I get a message on the home screen saying: unsupported SanDisk SD Card
I tried a new one, same message.
Before I started this process, I connected the phone to my PC and copied both the Phone and the Card folders, so I am good, data wise.
Basically I was thinking to go back to the very first OS, I think 4.4.2 and then re-load Lineage 16 using TWRP.
If I read the baseband version # is: G900FXXU1ANCE
If the procedure above is correct, would you be able to provide me a link to download the firmware?
I tried all the known sites, but their speed sucks, so I thought to ask here as somebody may have a link.
I will use Odin latest version to install it.
Thank you!
Alex
Access to the original/official firmware for SM-G900F would be extremely helpful for me as well.
I'm running LOS 16 with pico GApps very happily on my S5, however I have mobile data connectivity issues. Data connects and disconnects at random; this is device-dependent (swapping the SIM into other devices gives fully functional data connectivity).
My baseband is G900FXXU1BOA3; I believe updating the modem might fix this?

Fox, you may download the official firmware at https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G900F/
Select your region to get the right ***.md5.tar file to flah via Odin latest.
This will reset your handheld to out of box - original recovery reinstalled - you must reflash it also via Odin if you want to go back to custom Rom..
Good luck
.
Thank you.
What would be my region?
I purchased it in the US unlocked, but US is not a choice when it comes to region.
Would I be able to see the region the phone is from from the baseband #?

If your reference to the baseband version# is correct -> G900FXXU1ANCE, then the region is BTU -> check this address to download the original firmware:
https://samsung-firmware.org/downlo...agon-__/1806/BTU/G900FXXU1ANCE/G900FOXA1ANCE/
After flash via Odin, reboot and optional reinstall TWRP via Odin to use other custom Roms.
Are you sure you did everything before resuming to scratch. Personaly I would have done the following:
- back up in TWRP (at least data) + back up in google drive if you use google or titanium, (anyway save your picts, ...) if rooted, it is possible to save the file containing SMS, ... search in XDA,
- format (not wipe) !!!! WARNING THIS WILL ERASE ALL !!!!!
- clean install the ROM (lineageOS or else) + optional Gapps (I use Pico),
- reboot and restore data (as shown in 2 above)
(The Roms I use on my two KLTE by personal preference order are Havoc, DotOS, Bootleggers, Resurection Remix, MSM-Extended. I also use LineageOS.

That site is very buggy, if I search my model and enter all the other info I get to Lollipop 5.0, if I click your link, although I am registered, it does not allow me to the link you provided, I mean I can get to it but when I try to login, it takes me back to the home page, so there is no way to get to your same link while being logged in.
How do I get do the download page it is a mystery to me.
Also, how do you know from the base band that it is BTU region?
Thank you
Alex
PS: I managed to use your link in IE, this site is stone age! Unbelievable, never seen a website like this, there are bugs everywhere.

Men, the subject of resuming to firmware has been discussed and is described in the net literature! e.g. in XDA Q&A.
This discussion is now not a thread anymore but a dialog and I’m sure it will be closed by XDA moderator for redundancy.
The warnings given when you flash a custom Rom are clear. It also implies “before all” to backup, but also keep all materials to resume to original firmware, …. Now I cannot help anymore because you have problem with downloading the firmware.
Last advice – google baseband# - there are probably other web options or torrents
!!!!Also use the thanks button!!!!

1. Its normal to have the "Set warranty: kernel" text. As my device does too. Just simply ignore it. It won't harm your device.
2. Basically you can search websites that had official Samsung stock firmware. Search your region of your device and (IMPORTANT!) your model, in your case, is G900F. (Wow same as mine but different region, Snapdragon rocks).
3. To your network problem, I think you need to wait. There is no other option.
Thanks!
Edit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715487
XDA forums has one. Tip: if your region isn't there, the replies have all the filmwares you can have.

I have downloaded the firmware and this evening I will try to upload it and see what happens.
I still I have no answer to my question: how did you figure out that my firmware is BTU?
I mean, I gave you my baseband version #: G900FXXU1ANCE and when you eventually find it in any firmware sites you are given the choice to choose among many countries, expect USA and Canada.
Since I bought the phone in the US I still wouldn't know which country the firmware is from.
Would you mind to shed some light on this?
Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback John.
I am not sure that message is normal, if you google it they all say it is an issue with the firmware and that you need to go back to the stock one to fix it.
Is there anyone else with lineage having that same message?
Also, when I try to format my SD Card, it gets stuck to 40% and then it goes to the homepage.
I tried also a brand new card, same story.
It gives a message but it goes away after a few secs., I believe it is a Java message, but I can try again and take a picture of it.
Thank you,
Alex

I tell you my experience:
No matter the country you bought your device. As example, I leave in France, I bought mine in Hong-Kong, but choose an international device (G900F).
Before flashing anything, I checked all information in settings and recovery.
Pict below is original out of box G900FXXU1BOC7
Recovery information after latest update G900FXXS1CQD1
It happened recently 2 times my device was stuck because encription issues – I recover by reflashing original G900FXXU1BOC7 via Odin
I personally downloaded firmware as G900F – BTU, because I check the version at each updates and this sticked to BTU ONLY.
May be the site SamMobile will be more meaningful for you, because you see Countries/Operators and updates history.
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s5/firmware/SM-G900F/BTU/
For your device, you have to grab the search to find the closest original (which you have) to latest update (if you have it).
For the Kernel yellow tag at warmup, this is done when you flash TWRP. No issues since 2 years operation with that using LineageOS, Havoc, DotOS, AOSP, Bootleggers, RR, ViperOS. If you flash original firmware, it will disappear because twrp is erased and original stock recovery flashed.

When it said that you go back to stock one to fix it. Then want if it is not stock? The message is still there. Its normal if you want to install a custom ROM other than the stock one. I reinstall the stock and install custom ROM again once. It still happened.
I don't know how to remove the text but still have a custom ROM tho.
As for the SD card message, I encountered times before. Maybe you need to format using the computer.

When I reflash the stock ROM TWRP is still there. However no "Set warranty: kernel" appeared. Maybe its just when you install a custom ROM or something, I don't know.
OK guys,
Lineage 16 is installed, everything went smoothly, however when I connect the USB, the phone just shows as 'SM-G900F' on my W10 PC and cannot be expanded, basically no Phone and SD Card folders.
I can see them in the phone no problem, but once I connect it, I am not prompted with the usual message on what I want to do, like file transfer etc. and on the left menu appears only the model of the phone.
I had no issues when I flashed the original firmware, so it must be related to Lineage.
I also installed the Android USB drivers, but no go.
Changing the USB Preferences, to PTP or File Transfer only allows me to see the phone, no SD.
I also tried a new SD, no success.
I am stuck again... Jeez it takes days to get this stuff to work, you do one step ahead and another back
Ideas?
Alex
Anyone?
Shall I ask the question in the Lineage section?
'Set warranty :kernel' means you are running a custom kernel. Any modified boot.IMG can cause this message. It doesn't mean you need to use stock room. This appears even in stock rom with magisk or SuperSU.
MY skill with Android flashing: 3/10
Phone Problem: Boots to the very first screen with the phone model and then turns off itself, vibrates, and relaunches..... (repeat repeat). It did use to reach the Samsung screen before my (what I thought was) successful FW flash!
Hey, so im having a mare trying to flash some firmware on my friends Note 8 using Odin3 and pretty much guessing at firmware to fix this phone. I downloaded the latest version that seems to be available.
The phone Model number is not known exactly but its a single sim, UK spec (Carrier: 02) so am assuming it is the SM-N950F
Im slowly downloading fw files to try and get this phone to reboot - but no such luck! is there anyone with enough patience to try and help me install the "correct" firmwares?
I tried with my first attempt and it fails in odin with a message: SW Check boot loader 14 binary 13 (or something along those lines - which I tried a search for here in the forums and was something to do with the compatibility of the bl and fw not being correct)
My second attempt was a success through Odin (Cleared and Pass!) but now it only gets to the very first screen and reboot loops straight away without getting to the Samsung screen.... so not really a success my end!
Can anyone help a Android noob?
Not looking to keep any data what so ever Just want a full factory reset.
Phone last worked properly on 23/24th December last year and my friend hasn't bothered with it since when it bricked.

Hey bro I am not a pro either at this but doing this since quite a time now,
Your first attempt failed because you tried to install an older version of android whereas your device had a newer version installed previously....SAMSUCK does not allows you to downgrade your android model...
Your second attempt resulted in a bootloop , I will suggest you to reboot the phone into recovery and format it once, it might work.....

Like all four options it gives you in Odin. The bl, ap, cp, csc....... using the latest one I could find on SamMobile for 02 carrier U.K. -

It should boot after flashing that, it could be a hardware problem preventing a successful boot :-( Probably worth trying different filmware though, you could try BTU (UK) or XEU (UK & Ireland)
Bro i will advice you to just get over this stock rom and install some custom rom.
You can install a custom recovery like twrp through odin and then using that recovery install some custom rom made for your device.
All these you might find in your device's xda forum.
Brp i just checked and found that galaxy note 8 has plethora of custom roms available just install the one which you like.
You can see the installation process on youtube.
Samsung Tab S8+ won't update via wifi, I get a server error message when I try, last worked in June and since then it hasn't worked. Tried clearing cache, restarting and everything else I can think of. Contact Samsung, I'm just saying phew... not much help there. Anyone have a solution to the problem?
My Samsung Tab S7+ 5G is working fine on wifi, no problems at all.
Hi. To be 100% clear, you don't have the bootloader unlocked, and you're not rooted, correct? (Although I wouldn't necessarily expect the problem you're facing with both of those things)
Bootloader locked, no root, just like straight out of the box.
What CSC (Country Specific Code) is your Tab S8+? Quoting another user on here - I don't remember who:
Go to settings > about > software information > service provider SW ver
The region code (CSC) will be written there.

And what specific model number?
I don't really have any specific suggestion other than a factory reset, which I know is extreme, and wouldn't guarantee to fix the issue. You could always use the SamFirm or Frija Windows programs to manually download the firmware, and use Odin to flash it. As long as it's the completely stock Samsung firmware of any type for this device, it will work without unlocking the bootloader.
So I installed an app called CSWE App Manager and disabled some apps/services. Well, I must have disabled something I shouldn't have and my phone is boot looping. It shows the Samsung splash logo and then after a few minutes reboots and repeats.
Here is what I have done so far to troubleshoot:
I have taken out the sim/SD card.
I have booted into recover and wiped cache and factory data reset, but still no joy.
I downloaded new firmware and flashed via Odin. Got a successful flash, but still boot loops even after that. I downloaded this firmware from SamMobile:

I am at a loss for what to do now. Can anybody please help me? I am about to pull my hair out.
Thank you!
I took these screenshots of my wife's phone software info. She has the exact same phone as I do.
Unfortunately you may have to factory reset. Without knowing what the culprit is. If I were you, I would use ADB App Control next time. You can disable and enable with one click. And I would never remove anything unless you are sure, just disable
I tried to factory reset, but no luck. Still boot loops. I didn't uninstall anything, I just disabled. ADB App Control... is that an app?
I'm so frustrated, it successfully flashes in Odin, but still boot loops.
You load it on computer and connect device. It shows every app with the option to ddisable. If factory reset didn't work probably have to flash firmware with odin.

Thank you for the link. I downloaded that firmware and got a pass on Odin v3.14. Still boot looping. What am I missing?
Did you flash BL..AP..CP..CSC
So I flashed via Odin again and this time I didn't select for auto reboot. I powered down after the flash and immediately went into Recovery Mode. As I attempted to do this a blue android logo and status bar came up briefly and then went away, which was weird. Then it let me into Recovery Mode and I cleared cache and factory reset. Still no luck, boot looping.
Yes, I flashed all four of those as the same time.
Since you factory reset, try flashing again with those 4 files. Keep auto reboot selected. Use parched Odin I think 3.13b or patched 3.14
And if you can, show me your download screen
Ok, I did and still boot loop.
No I mean download screen of your device
Who is your carrier? What sim?

Mint Mobile
Try to find latest version of odin. Mint Mobile is basically Tmobile. Take sim out and flash the firmware.
I've got Odin 3.13.1 and have the sim/SD card out. Still boot looping even after successful flashes.
Here is the device info that I get when connecting to SamFirm to confirm what my device is currently showing.
Company : TOSHIBA
Model Number : SM-N960U1
Sales Model : XAA
SW Version : N960U1UEU9FVG2
FW Version : 000B
Product : THGAF8T0T43BAIRA
CAPA : 128
DID : 20208BB5CA97FF11
UN : 988F8B48425148474434
I also tried to Boot into Safe Mode. I am not able to shut the phone down while in boot loop, but when booting into Recovery Mode there is a power off selection. When I select it, it just reboots back into Recovery Mode.
When going to SamMobile to download the firmware package, how do I know what country to pick? I see XAA (unknown), AIO (unknown), etc...
My phone is the unlocked US version.
My wife has the same exact phone and it shows this as her software version.
It appears something in my phone is preventing it from booting even though I have successfully flashed stock firmware via Odin. Is there a way to completely wipe my phone via my pc using adb or something and reflash using odin?
I'm not sure what happened. You have done everything that should work. Try different cord, different USB port
A factory wipe should do the trick. Try flashing Tmobile U1 it's unlocked firmware..
Do you remember what you disable? Have you tried your wife's sim? You should be able to flash any unlocked firmware not just XAA they are the same since it provisions to your Sim my play phone is a Note 10+ with mint mobile Sim and it works just fine. Before I unlocked it I used At&t
This is my about phone on my Note 10 + with mint mobile sim
Did you ever use Odin to flash firmware before all this happened?
I have an have always been successful. Its been a long time however, but I used to flash custom roms all the time on my earlier Samsung Notes.
I was told by somebody more experience than I am after trying to flash for me that its an emmc error.
Is this fixable by a repair shop? Worth doing or would it be expensive?
I don't get it. I get a successful flash with Odin.
Is there anyway to fix this? Can the storage on the phone be repartitioned and the stock software reinstalled? I don't see how the emmc could just fail like that. Especially after I was using CCSWE App Manger and disabled apps. Seems very coincidental that the emmc would fail right after doing that. I think I messed up the software with that app. I just don't know how to get it fixed.
