Hi guys, about 20 days ago my android auto started reading whatsapp message texts in a strange incomprehensible language
The English female voice of the system reads the messages in Italian.
I state that I am in Italy but the Italian messages read with English sleng are truly incomprehensible
Before that everything worked smoothly
I checked all the various settings without noticing any problems
I thank you in advance to those who want to answer me
Better try to post or search your problem here: https://support.google.com/androidauto/community?hl=en
If everything on your phone is set up as it should, then your problem it is probably an AA bug, and the developers should know about.
How did it started, what changed on you phone from the day before when everything worked fine?

Dear friends,
first of all, I'd like to wish you a merry xmas. I hope you're enjoying with your families, friends, lovers, and so on.
I have a quick question which I hope you can answer avoiding me to throw my Kaiser out of the window:
yesterday I upgraded to wm 6.1 but I've been experiencing this problem for two weeks now, even though I had wm 6.
When I receive a SMS I get no audio/pop-up/led notifications at all. No icon in the taskbar.
I checked the settings and everything is alright.
I think none of the installed apps inhibits the notification.
Any ideas mates?
Thanks a lot for your kind help.
Kindest regards,
Gian Paolo
Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications Tab. Under event, hit the drop down box and select, "Messaging: New text message". Now you will see your options for when you receive a new text message (i.e.- display on screen, play sound, vibrate, etc.).
Thanks lad, but I said the settings are ok. I checked the whole list.
And I also checked the registry and everything is alright.
I really dunno what could be...
Older builds of Opera seems to have this issue. Check..
Regards,
Carty..
Hi Carty.
I use Opera Mini 4.2... I think it does not affect the registry or something.
However I'll try to remove it!
Thanks and happy xmas
SMS notifications
Hi,
I'd the same issue on my tytn II after editing the registry to disable the chat like SMS inbox.
Reverting the change in registry makes the notifications work again.
I hope this can help.
Best regards,
micari
!!! Finally !!!
Been looking everywhere for someone with this problem, thank you thank you thank you for the solution, uninstalled Opera and it doesn't reset the SMS notification settings anymore.
Happy new year by the way !

Interested in what solved this as Opera Mini doesn't write any reg entrys and resides in appdb, so was it Opera Mobile that was causing the issue?
Please when you have reolved an issue post the exacts to what solved it as it helps other users who may face the same issue.
Sounds like it was the well known bug of that Opera Mobile beta that was clearing the notifications.

try use this...
i struggled with this problem for days.
when you turn off threading, you will hear no sound, vibrating or other notification.
i found a way to use the function and also show sms in the "old" not threaded style.
now my phone rings and vibrates on new text messages. hallelujah!
i edited my registry with "Schapp's registry editor"
first i changed the "SMSAvailable" value to "1":
["HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
name="SMSAvailable" value="1" datatype="integer"
i don't know why but it is required for notification sound and vibrating again
now i wanted to have my messages in the "old", not threaded style.
for this i created an new key "/OEM" with following value:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s\OEM]
Name: SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
With: dword, 1
after editing my registry i did a soft-reset. not sure if necessary
yeah! now i have my text messages shown in "old style" and notification works fine.
First off, I looked around couldn't find the same problem. Sorry for that if this is a double post.
So now my problem, I live in the netherlands, I know 2 people in Sweden. I sms a lot with them.
But the the thing is, when I get an sms from somebody in the netherlands, the time that TF3D shows when I got the sms is correct.
But when I get an sms from this girl in Sweden, the time doesn't make sence If I get an sms around 16.00 TF3D shows maybe 06.17 or something like that, depens what time it is. And sometimes the sms I got from sweden, shows up not in the frist place, but somewhere behind all the other smses in TF3D. Because the time isn't correct.
How can I fix this? I hope I've been clear enough, my english is poor. Thanx in Advance!

dunno if this help or not..
have u checked ur time area?
in clock&alarms?
make sure u're in the right GMT zone.
I'm having weird thing regarding sms since I installed Android on my vogue. I was on wm6.1 for a long time and decided to install Android. I tried 3 differents port of Android, I finally ended up with Fresh froyo on a kernel 2.6.25. But on all android version I tried I had the same problem. Some sms came in with what it's look like to me chinese characters. I can receive a readable sms from someone and the next sms he's sending it's in chinese. So my question is there any known problem or issues with sms on android ? I did some search here and I didn't find anything like this. Should I go with another sms application ?
Thanks
The solution is to write SMS without accents at least it was solved for me that way.
Yeah i thought it could be something like that... except I don't have any control on incoming sms
I have to send SMS in Russian beneficiary receives the trash.
Is either a solution?
PS: I assume that the case in the coding but the original client settings is not found. Handtsent does not help, Problem remains.
Sorry for the English, I use google translator
In my case only happened when sending messages with accents but the received SMS well so the problem can be language used in your country.
The boy in russia no idea what caused your problem because not I understood he meant.

Let me explain. I have installed HTC VOGUE Fresh Froyo from 23.01.2011 at Nand. In the system settings chosen language is Russian. Sms recruited normally in Russian. But my sms people get in unreadable encoding. I have an idea that problemma encoded message to be sent, but the settings do not have the choice of encoding.

Unfortunately did not help.
Here is a sample russian text that I'm posting: Тест
And this is what will get: C(DN^(C N^$
Maybe worth a try:
On http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/2011-1-23-froyo/ theres three different language builds.
system-froyo-us-unodex-23-01-11_09.tgz
system-froyo-eu-unodex-23-01-11_09.tgz
system-froyo-all-unodex-23-01-11_09.tgz <--- try that one

Hi guys,
I posted this on the CyanogenMod forums, but no one replied, so I guess I will try there
Just installed CM7.1 a few weeks ago. I barely use SMS messages, however, yesterday I needed to send a couple but the recipients are getting a lot of garbage when they receive my message. It only happens if the text contains an accented word. If I write in plain english, the sms is received just fine.
Attached you will find two screenshots of this problem. One in a HTC Wildfire S, and another in a BlackBerry Pearl.
This never happened on the stock Samsung ROM (XXJVT), so I guess its a CM7-stable bug.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
;/ same problem ...

I'm having the same problem, I have a galaxy s2 with swype ....
I tried flashing a new radio, and also checking the "split text messages" option but it didn't work.
Which 'accented word', exactly? Maybe the other phones don't support the characters you are trying to send them? Other than that, I can't reproduce this myself, so I'm not entirely sure.

Try with:
- número
- canción
- áéíóú
The fact is, this didn't happen on stock XXJVT, it happens only on CyanogenMod 7 stable. Those are my close friends mobiles, and I have texted them before on stock with no issue at all.
I don't think its a recipient problem. Those accented letters are pretty common in spanish.
Hi all!
Long time reader, first time poster.
I live in Denmark, and yesterday I got a new Sony z1!
the phone is awesome btw!
Through the xperia privilege app, i got 60 days music unlimited for free.
I went through the process and got it attached to my playstation account, but when i go on the phone and it tries to log in, it gives me the following apparently japanese error message: see attached
The language on my device is set to Danish, I do not speak a word japanese, and the language on my account is set to english.
Can anyone help me get this working?
Thanks in advance,
Mortne Bonderup

Because it's an error message, it does not allow me to hear any music..
Making the phone not show the box does not make the problem go away.
the error message is saying that you are in a different region than your account region. Go create a new region with new account. YOu should tell us your whole situation next time if expecting helps from community. You are not in Danmerk right now.
