After 3 and a half years daily usage, its time to call it a day.
About 18 months ago I changed the battery, which gave me a full day on LTE.
Shortly afterwards one of the watch straps split, which fortunately at the time a new replacement set where on ebay which I bought.
Lately the battery life has declined again, and one of the watch straps have split again.
Can't see the point in investing in a new battery (which might be old stock), and getting a new set of watch straps which aren't readily available anyway.
The choice of a LTE replacement, certainly with micro SIM, isn't great, if not impossible now with wear OS, they are all eSim, which isn't as convenient.
If anyone knows of a replacement micro SIM Wear OS smartwatch.... Let me know!
I've just got Mi Watch and it's way higher level than LG watch sport.. Not as easy to install as Sport since it comes in Chinese and you get English after update.. But overall very nice and better experience

I believe that's eSim and not UK compatible.
A few choices eSim in the UK available but non that I'm aware are micro SIM unfortunately.
Some guys in telegram group reported that esim works in the UK.

If buying an esim watch I'd buy the ticwatch or with deep pockets the Montblanc Summit 2 plus.
I gone and done a U turn.
I've purchased on ebay another w281 for only £50.
It's the silver grey colour as opposed to the blue black of my current one.
I honestly don't think it has ever been worn, mint.
Saying that, today, one of the straps split at the buckle, it just fell off my wrist. Fortunately I was in my car driving so no damage.
Anyway I've just ordered a set of new OEM straps from South Korea for $81 including postage, more than the watch cost!
Also purchased a fresh battery, for a clean start.
So for £130 total outlay I'll have a mint w281 with new straps and battery, plus I still have my old w281 for any spares.
Still much cheaper than any comparable new smartwatch with LTE capability.
Still love the chunky stainless steel case and design, super crisp display, just a shame the rubber straps don't last but thank goodness you can still buy replacements.
New battery and brand new OEM straps fitted.
So now have an as new watch again.
First full charge and have just completed a straight 16 hours until battery save at 15%.
That's with nothing turned off, and LTE.
Pleased with that.
Finally the end after 4 and a half years.
Yet another strap has failed after only one year.
I've just bought a Galaxy watch 4 classic LTE.
A good innings though, shame no LG Watch Sport 2.

Hi Guys. I wanna start new topic. Tell me the reasons why did you bought LG P970.
First I:
- it was very good looking and with style what I like
- in 2011 this was one on the slimmest smartphones. I checked that on www.phonegg.com/top/12-Slimmest-Cell-Phones but now is out of list
- it was looking like Iphone 4 but with bigger display. Now is similiar to Iphone 5 black.
- I was thinking to buy Samsung Galaxy S1 but Optimus Black was better: have Flash, no pentile and screen brithness was much better (very important if I want to see something outside during sunny day)
- price was ok about 250 Euro
- I was quite sure that device will get Android 4.0 because was avalialbe on May 2011 in shops. ICS was realased in October 2011 (18 months support for updates )

Now your turn
My OB is a 2nd hand phone. i like its design, and it has the world's brightest display the nova ips... it is still the brightest today but not that crisp as the new technology displays like htc lcd2 and amoled2. who cares... i got a phone OB that when full brightness on full white screen fully lights up a big room like a florescent lamp... hehehe
4". Good display. Thin.

Thin. Cheap. Good camera and has ICS :v Haha.
My black was the best phone I could had been obtained while I change my ITSP.
And Im proud of what I selected
After this phone, lot of L series came, and some others, even so ours is best and unbeatable
I don't wish to sell..

I bought it, because it has 4" display, 5 Mpx camera, CM support, official android 4.0, and also it has good value to money. I bought it for 500 zł (Polish money), for example SGS4 costs 2500 zł.

I wanted the O2X but it was too expensive even with contract so I got the OB instead. Not a bad decision.
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Same as the OP really... got it when it first came out in Germany, that was 3 years ago - along with a new contract so "free".
I still like its style, looks, size and display (was getting crazy searching for a new smartphone, because I need the high screen brightness and couldn't find a new phone that even comes close, lol).
What I didn't like were the initial very bad stock roms (battery life of ~10h idle...), the occasional slowdowns and keyboard crashed I got using stock roms, so I rooted and used a variety of custom roms. Phone is still running good, but I am now considering to buy something new, probably the Optimus G. I just need more performance for multitasking, plus my GPS has been acting up for a while now.
All in all I don't regret getting the phone, as it is one tough piece of hardware. It has fallen down like 50 times, been used daily without a hull or cover, gotten wet, been full of mud, and it still works No scratches on the display either, just the back plastic cover is full of them, but who cares.
I bought it because it was good looking and thin, with nice hardware and the brightest display.
And all of these at a reasonable price.I love it!The only thing that i miss is the USB OTG feature.
it was cheap when i bought it. switched from Samsung Wave 2 because of bigger (better) screen, slim body and android.
dropped it several times but still without scratches or cracks
do not regret it. should have purchased it in black color, though

Very much the same as you,. It was the IPS screen that won me. And if it gets somehow USB OTG I will be happy camper.
It has served me faithfully for over two years and it is a definite value for money. After all this time without screen protection there are only couple of very fine scratches, not visible when looking straight to the screen.
Only real downside is battery being bad to start with and gone worse over time, which turned out to be related with LGs chip design .
P.s. I came from nokia 5800 and samsung wave 1
I bought it since my dear Samsung Wave 1 was stolen and this phone was the best about quality/price. I have to admit that seeing knzo create the very first topic of our forum had helped.
I got it because it was light in weight, the awesome display, not to big, good hardware specs at the time, good development of custom roms and a good community to back it up.

It was a great phone for the price he had, and the look of it was very worth it.
First for the screen, secondly for the design. Nova is stil one of the best screen (very bright, neutral colors and large angles of view), even versus newest phones. My girlfriend has a S3, Nova beats its over-saturated amoled...
Because its cheap and I got it as my second device. Am also gonna use for devment

1) 4 inch screen back then (2011) was considered as quite big
2) thin and light
3) couldn't afford more expensive device as I'm a student
never baught it, my good old sister had the OB and SG-S1 for her daughter. she went on and got her self another SG-S1. so i asked her to be a loving sister and give her brother a present.....something like OB.
i had SG Gio, and it was nice until i saw the light with the OB. i like its size, screen, weight, and overall looks. i use it for almost a year and its still rocks. and since i got it from sis, i never say no to presents and passed my Gio to the wife.
mean while my sister upgraded both hers and daughters phone, she got SG Note, and for her daughter SG-S3, so i asked her for her old SG-S1 in order to compare with the OB. she gave me both her SG-S1 for me and my wife. my wife sold the Gio, and she is happy like i was when moving from small screen phone to a bigger one.
as far as for me, after 2 weeks of using the SG, i still like the OB better. they are so similar with the specs but still screen is way better and the camera has the flash which is a plus for me.
I'm thinking of buying the garmin vivosmart but i'm not sure if it is supported by the G2
is there any "smartwear" for taking notifications and display time/day (as small as possible) and it doesn't need to recharge it every night?

I'm using a Misfit Shine with my LG G2. They are coming out with a "cheaper" model soon, the Misfit Flash, but this will only be about the Shine. As for the website http://www.misfit.com/, so you can check it out. The only thing it doesn't do that you asked about is tracking notifications.
As far as being an activity tracker, it does a pretty good job. There where (don't know if still is) two version of the shine, and it is what it comes with. The version I got came with the magnetic clip and the sports band. The little cheaper model comes with just the magnetic clip. Like most of the trackers, this one is waterproof. Rating for it is 50 meters. So no worries about jumping into the pool with this one and taking a swim.
The major thing about this tacker is that I got mine in April, I just changed the battery a week ago. So it ran for roughly 3-4 months with no charging. But that is the bad part as well, it takes a watch battery. At least the battery is one of the most common ones, and pretty cheap on Amazon. So with this one I was able to get a decent period of time out of it without having to worry about putting it on the charger.
It can tell the time, but does so in a digital/analog way. It shows you where Noon is on it, then shows you the hand, then blinks the minute had for how many minutes past the 5 minute intervals. This is all by the 12 leds on it. To get it to show the time you tap the device two or three times (depending upon settings). This is where the Misfit Flash might be better, as it has a full face button instead of using the accelerometer.
The main negative to this Misfit Shine is that the Android software is a couple of revisions behind ios. It is still useable and will do everything, just annoying seeing a new feature mentioned and seeing that it is only on the ios at this time. Also the software is simple, but they have finally open the API to allow other programs to nab the data. So you might check to see if your preferred health/tracking app has access to it.
Overall I've been quite happy with it. It has survived two trips though the washer, pretty sure it can easily survive more since it is metal. The new Misfit Flash (plastic encloser) might not like the spin cycle as much though.
Hope my little review helps you out some.
Niscandia
PS: I've used it on Cloudy's roms, First on CloudyFlex and now on CloudyG3. I did not try it upon a stock rom.

I'm using the Sony Smartband with my G2. Overall I like it. I paid $80 for it when it came out earlier this year. The battery life is pretty good ranging from 3 to 5 days of use. It has a companion app that works with it called Lifelog. Lifelog tracks a lot of info. There is no screen on the smartband, but it does have touch controls and vibrates when your phone receives an email or a phone call. It is water resistant. I shower and wash dishes with it on. I think I will pick up the newest version when it comes out.
The one issue that I have noticed and reported to Sony to fix is that text message notifications do not vibrate the Smartband like emails, phone calls, and alarms do.
Also, the band they use did cause a little irritation to my skin. I'm not sure if it s from the material or from the band rubbing against my skin when I was wearing it.
Just like the other poster I am using Cloudy G3.
Can we use mi Band by Xiaomi with G2 .. I mean all of its features ??

I use a Pebble Steel with my G2, works like a charm! Bluetooth LE allows my phone to sip power, I don't notice the difference in battery when I'm connected to it at all. The pebble has a week long battery which is amazing as well.
Hi
i have oneplus 3 and am looking for a integrated battery case
NO i am not looking for external battery chargers
i have one of those
i am looking for one that snaps on the phone and can be carried with it
Thanks
Fire kid, why? The phone charges so fast you shouldn't need a separate battery. Don't forgot no battery pack is going to match the dash charging.

These Pokémon Go kids.. the game isnt even funny because of all the limitations of not being able to get rare Pokémon.. no i have not even started.
well, if you live in the country side, it's sure it's not really funny. For the rare pokemon, it was even worse in the nintendo game, rare pokemon were only available during special event held in Pokemon Centers, so in short only in Japan (the new york pokemon center is now a nintendo shop).
For the battery case, it's too old fashioned. Yes taste change quickly and not enough people that own a OP3 and want a battery case, not to tell that the design have to please you...
Better get a battery pack that have the size of the phone and use velcro or double sided tape if you don't care.

Yeah but that was for mew only. All of the other 150 were avaliable. In go, there are 10 missing i reckon? So, not the same at all.
Out of the ten you are talking about, 4 are exclusive to a region so you could have the one from your continent and travel to get the 3 other. Only 6 that are not found yet and I bet Niantic will held some event. But I don't think it will soon, with mass shooting in the US and terrorist in Europe

No battery case for the OnePlus 3 is on the market yet, also doubt we will see one anytime soon because of the dash charging.
it seems that all posters except for the last one have power sockets in their asses so they can dash-charge their phone anywhere they go. i don't have one. i don't believe op does either or else he wouldn't ask.
i'd also be interested in a battery case...
I use an Anker 2. Gen. Astro3 12800mAh with the original OnePlus usb-c cable if i am off grid. It surly doesnt work with dash charge. But it still charges well enough. If you have a battery case you'll be plugged in all the time so it doesn't matter how "slow" it will charge because it will extend the time you can use the phone anyway.
So: I would be interested too ... sadly i haven't seen one yet.
If you guys are interested in a Dash Power bank I'd suggest submit your support to encourage them to make one..

sorry , i dont know if i can post it here.so i am from india . right now moto x4 is for 12k inr or 175usd. i have been using moto g5 plus and bought galaxy note 8 in 2017 and used it just for 3 months. however it was note 8 was stolen and was recovered by police after 6 months, i used it for 3 months again, alas. it was stolen again(literally got robbed this time). so back to moto g5 plus 3rd time , replaced its screen with a duplicate one as it was broken before using it. However after 5 months (few days back), the display failed entirely. so the genuine display costs 6k inr or 86 usd. i am just a student so i dont earn any money. ever since my phone got stolen i felt very bad because dad saved money for it. i wanted to use moto g5 plus for atleast another 1 and half year. the moto x4 looks like a good choice for me right now, even though it is old. i want an headphone jack, usb c, no notch, no punch hole, doesnt really care about bezels, clean os. i dont play any games. i browse a lot, use youtube, watch a lot of videos and listen music. and a not so bad camera. Dad suggested to buy one plus 7(not pro) on monthly installments or emi. i said no ,because no headphone jack( i watch lot of classe lectures on phone with both earphones and charger plugged in, and note 8 history. are there any better choices in the budget range. notch is ok(i will hide it) and one more thing. is there any way to recover data from my phone. i cant pass through my pincode. sadly the fps doesnt work because it was restarted and needs pin. i tried a keyboard via otg to unlock and connect it to pc , but no avail. please help and is there any way to convert moto x4 to android version to get seamless updates
Sound output of moto x4 is pretty low. If you watch videos only with headphones then you can consider buying it. (Price is 11k on Flipkart, not 12k).
I bought a moto x4 32gb 2 weeks ago in bestbuy USD 160 (tax included)
Im really happy about my decision. Really liking this phone.

Same here. I came from the Moto x pure and the only thing I have really missed is the sound volume.
Well, I bought a 6GB 64GB for 11k from Flipkart 2 months and I am totally loving this phone. You can play games in it just not at the highest settings. Everything is super fine except the speakers which are okay but not super loud and the battery gets the job done but under my hyper heavy usage I wish it would have been a bit bigger, also the 64GB storage feels a cutthroat to me . Else the phone is super great and value for money.
Well, im part of the few that had the black screen qualcom 9008 issue, but it appears to me that i know how to get it back to life with 2 rubber bands LOL , beside that, pretty solid phone, nice slick design, fast, and i love the 2 to 4 bluetooth speakers at the same time feature. I just hate the fact that i can brake so easy as im used to the plastic line motorolas that are more durable, so i guess ill have to be more carefull. i just bought the glass protector and the cover. Anyway , nice phone to manage with one hand.

I can agree with the speaker being okay at best. The battery is actually really good all things considered (AMOLED would have been great) and you would be hard pressed to find something that is significantly better if you are a heavy phone gamer (assuming this based off your post). As far as the 64GB storage, it was pretty good at the time of release for the phone considering it was at best an upper mid-range phone at release. It has an SD slot for expandable storage so that is a plus.
All,
I bought the Gear S3 Frontier at launch and I am still wearing it every day. Now I am trying to find reasons why I should upgrade this watch to a Watch 3, as the S3 is already some years old. Except for blood saturation measurement, I did not really see big upgrades or new features that justify the expenses. Also the lack of new great apps (except for watch faces) and support for Samsung Pay in The Netherlands are holding me back for this upgrade. Am I missing some great reasons to get the Watch 3, except for some change of aestethics?
I have SM-R760...
GW3 has new Tizen 5.5...
Pro GW3
8 GB eMMC
Blood Pressure and ECG possible... if not in official way then via Sideload...
Contra
New and expensive...
Blood Oxygen seems again not in all countries...
And for sure... NO changes to Samsung Pay...
My opinion.
I would wait if somebody from Netherlands confirm all things you wish will work...
Best Regards

I have an SM-770 (S3) and I just upgraded; I should receive my GW3 later today. Reasons I upgraded:
Leaner profile
IP68 rating
ECG (sensor approved in US, but app may be delayed)
Blood Oxygen sensor (Firmware update just released in US)
Blood pressure
Samsung gave me $100 trade in for my S3, about the same as what I thought I could get selling it.
My biggest disappointment will be no MST.
I decided to upgrade my Frontier to the 41mm as well. I like the smaller watch rather than the larger S3. I found myself using the S2 classic titanium more than the S3 just due to the size. Since I am getting the Note 20 Ultra, I love the fact that I can charge the new watch by putting it on the back of the Note. One less accessory to carry when I start travelling again.
I'd add a caveat about the ECG and BPM....They are on-demand features currently (I doubt that changes). If you don't need constant monitoring, there are other consumer devices you can get ranging from about $80-$200 that have BPM (with a cuff) and ECG nodes. Also, you need a quality BPM monitor with a cuff to calibrate the watch monthly, anyway.
Unless you're a competitive athlete, VO2 max is kind of a gimmick.
SPo2 might be worthwhile if you suffer from asthma in any way. It's also helpful for identifying potential sleep apnea. But, again, you can get a few good consumer monitors to do that in the $120-$180 range.
I understand the sleep tracking is much improved. But, frankly, there are a few Android apps and a few smart rings that are far superior.
Smartwatches not only need to be functional, but as an accessory you wear they need to look good too. Whilst I liked the frontier, the Galaxy Watch I bought to replace it looked so much better. The Watch 3 takes that a step further and looks fantastic. Plus the battery in your Frontier is getting on a bit now, it's going to degrade and underperform. So I would say upgrading for better functions and a better overall look, it's definitely worth it.
.
I really like the 1.4" display on the 45mm. My old watch was 1.2", and it makes a big difference if you're a low-brow abuser of classic luxury knock-off watchfaces like me.
I received the 41mm Silver today and am returning it immediately. Compared to the S2 Classic Platinum or the S3 Classic, it feels too thick for the diameter. The black bezel seems cheesy to me and I just can't see using the Watch 3. I'll stay with the S2 and S3.
Again, I love the bigger 1.4" display. The rotating bezel is not something I would miss, and aesthetically I'd agree this could have been done better. The larger crystal and smaller bezel is a more modern look you can find on luxury watches, a matter of preference IMO.

Not sure what you mean by 'cheesy'. Perhaps elaborate a bit.
I ordered the 45mm silver one, arriving today. I am upgrading from the Galaxy Watch (1st gen) which is also silver, both look premium to me.
Maybe it's because you ordered the smaller version and it somehow just doesn't look right? I will give my verdict later today.
.
I received my 45mm black GW3 yesterday and it is replacing my S3 Frontier. I took it for multiple tracked bike rides and have constant HR monitoing turned on. I will be keeping it, however the Pulse O2 feature is quite finicky to get consistient results. and you dont seem to get access to Vo2 max data for cycling.
Looks wise on a medium man-sized wrist I think it looks smaller than my Frontier.
$100 trade-in is why I made the switch. My Gear S3 was having issues so before it failed I decided to take advantage of the trade-in offer. I am very happy with Watch 3. It's much faster and a charge lasts twice as long. If your S3 is working fine and doesn't seem sluggish to you, might be best to wait for the price of the Watch 3 to come down. But if you think you may need a new watch fairly soon, the Watch 3 is the best new watch available so trade in while you can.
I stopped by Best Buy yesterday with my S3 Classic on my wrist. Looking at the watches side by side, I didn't see much reason to upgrade unless my S3 stops holding a charge. At this point I am still getting two days use on the S3.
upgrading for better functions, latest software & hardware, warranty, etc. should be a nice ride...
.
EDIT: Right after I ordered I saw that Sammy today announced the titanium version coming out on October 2. I'm gonna wait for that one and cancelled the order mentioned below.
Call me a sucker for a deal, but when I checked into my Samsung account today to see the shipping date on my Tab S7 Plus, I noticed a header giving up to 30% off certain accessories. Between the Military discount and the offered discount on the large silver version, I picked up the Watch3 for $358 pre-tax. Total discount of 17% for the silver so I'm in. Sammy didn't offer a trade in for my S3 Classic so I'll probably put in it on the Bay.
