MI9T PRO Screen Replacement Problem - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Mi9T Pro screen died after a small drop. (green line then followed by death.)
Went to service center to replace the screen, while testing new screen every time I entered the password it reset.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? What can I do to solve it? The phone was in 100% working condition prior to the panel dying.

Its fault of the fingerprint do a reset and dont configure fingerprint , I think the new screen isnt an original one, and miui 12 vendor have a problem that if you use fingerprint reboot the phone.

Yeah, it's very possible it's not an original screen. I'm in Cambodia and there's only 1 official vendor, who never had stock. Unofficial vendor is a big repair chain that sells it as original for $90, but very possible it's chinese copy.
I am on MIUI 12 EU stable. When it reset, I used pattern unlock.
EDIT:
It is the MIUI 12 vendor file. If I use miui11 no issue. If i use miui12, if i setup fingerprint it will reset phone.
Do you suggest a factory reset? I was hoping to avoid that. I'm also gonna try flashing PassReset to remove lock screen and see if it continues.

Fingerprint Sensor Replaced, how to re-calibrate?

My p10 was just got back from warranty claim for broken screen. When i turn it on, there was this menu asking to recalibrate fingerprint sensor because the sensor was just replaced (not inputting new fingerprint). It was unclear how i should do it at first, however after few attempts it was supposedly asking me to rotate the phone while the finger resting on top of the sensor.
Too bad, i think my first few failed attempts may have miscalibrated the whole sensor.
Anyone knows how to get back into that menu?

I replaced a broken display on a P10 VTR-L29 and the fingerprint button is not working, everything else is. At first I though the display is faulty, but now I have doubts since the fingerprint option on the menu is just not there. I re-flashed the same version of the firmware (B369) via TWRP and the problem persists. I may have to try a factory reset.

So this is how it ends when noobs messing with phones they don´t understand.
-You can unlock bootloader by paying some bucks to DC phoenix.
When you have no fgingerprint sensor options enabled it points that:
- the fingerprint sensor is broken
- the fingerprint sensor is not conected right
Hi alll
I had the same problem after replacing my screen.
I used Quick tuneup, and since the fingerprint sensor work correctly.

Sorry bro, my fault, i thought you are the one who asked before you.
You didnt say anything about your problem just asked if there is a solution and that you cannot unlock bootloader. With this info no one is able to help you. But anyway:
1. method:
-Remove existing fingerprints
-do a factory reset
-add a new fingerprint (when finger not scaned properly try to push a little bit harder on the sensor and rotate the finger)
-After the new fingeprint is scaned it should work well
2. method:
-after you recieve OTA notification (every month) go to settings/system updates/ there are three dots in upper right corner and select "get the whole latest package". This will download the whole firmware and perform a factory reset low level and this should work (if simple factry reset didnt work for you).
if this methods don´t work i will suggest you to go to phone service.

MIUI 12 Fingerprint Unlock defective

After upgrading to MIUI 12 Global OTA yesterday, fingerprint unlock stopped working. When I select fingerprint unlock in settings to switch it on and enter my PIN, phone goes dark and restarts (MIUI splash screen). Any suggestions? Phone is stock and not rooted.
Additional info: from CIT menu I ran the fingerprint sensor test. Result shows: all success. Next test (Fod fingerprint input test) gives following message: Your phone has password can not enroll fingerprint information
Not sure I understand the result of this test. Phone of course has a password (required to set fingerprint unlock).

See, the cause of fingerprint bug on miui 12 I guess is replaced Lcd. Let's see if anyone fixes this bug
hi guys i have the same issue, please teach me to fix this please i badly need your help
I have the same problem, also changed the screen. I hope some one find a solution for this.. Now i went back to miui11
Eu também estou com esse problema, alguém tem que saber a solução.
I have the same problem. I updated from a fresh MIUI 11.06 (i wanted to remove orangefox cfw to do OTA update) to MIUI 12 via ota update. I didn't register fingerprint in fresh 11.06
OTA went perfectly but when I tried to register fingerprint it crashed and rebooted.
My screen was also replaced a couple of months ago, if the service center uses an original screen? I don't know. I should ask. They provide 2 year warranty on installed screen so maybe they should replace it with REAL one!!

Yah, could be your phone screen not original. Did your phone screen support 5 or 10 multitouch?
and if you already replace your screen on service center and try the fingerprint please update to this thread, I want to know the reason of this bug.

I asked the repair centre if they installed an original oem screen or not. Still waiting for reply.
10 point touch does work though.
Same problem
I'm having the same issue with my Redmi K20 Pro. My display was also replaced to a not original one and fingerprint was working fine at MIUI 11.
After updating via OTA to MIUI 12, it crashed every time I tried to unlock, restarting the device with an infite loop. After that, I made a factory reset, then configuration reset and reinstalled the OTA package but it still won't work.
Hope we can find a solution to this problem!

Xiaomi K20 Pro Stuck in a Bootloop after MIUI 12 Update

Has anyone experienced something like this? It’s happening on my Xiaomi K20 Pro after I just updated it to MIUI 12 directly from the settings app
here's a video: youtu.be/ Mv-Qbgb0rR8 (I don't know where else to post this video, but I'm not allowed to post links)
Just in case the video wasn’t very clear, basically when I try to boot everything seems to boot fine to the lock screen, but if I try to unlock the phone with my pin it will just go back to the boot screen again, if I click on the emergency button it also does the same thing and if I just wait a little bit the same thing happens too.
It kinda reminds me of that wallpaper bug that bricked people’s phones, but I didn’t have any problems in MIUI 11 and my wallpaper is from the Google wallpaper app so I don’t expect that to be the problem.
I think it might be because my phone is running the international/global Rom instead of the original rom? I bought this phone used, and the software is saying that its a Mi 9T Pro instead of K20 Pro.
Can someone help me solve this? Or would I need to just factory reset? The phone is also already unlocked, so I was able to back everything up via a custom recovery, but reinstalling and setting everything back up again is just going to take a while, so maybe someone can help?
Maybe I could do something from the custom recovery (currently using orangefox recovery) to save this? I really don't want to factory reset
yes i am facing the same issue
At this point I wouldn't hold much hope on avoiding a clean install.
If you can access the data OK in TWRP/OF, I would suggest backing up your personal data, then try the following.
Dirty flash the MIUI 12 recovery ROM again.
If that fails, clean flash the MIUI 12 recovery ROM.
If that fails, clean flash the MIUI 12 fastboot ROM.
Personally myself, I would go straight to flashing the fastboot ROM, as it's the option almost guaranteed to work.
You can also try to factory reset your phone. Do you have TWRP?

I locked the bootloader then rebooted back into the boot loader and unlocked it and then flashed
Works for me too.
In past issues with face unlock, the fix was to perform a factory reset (Settings - System - Reset options - Erase all data) before flashing a new rom. Supposedly the chip that face data is stored is not cleared until you do a factory reset. Unsure if a full wipe clears the chip. You can try this next time ... may be easier than doing a bootloader lock/unlock.

Hi, My face unlock is also messed up after updating to Android 11 (it keeps saying “fit face into frame” without letting me register my ugly face...)
Did you encounter the problem after rooting? I’m trying to figure out how to solve this, as I had no success with factory reset or flashing OTAs and factory images

I had the exact same problem as you. face unlock became unreliable after the Android 11 upgrade, so I deleted face data and tried to set up again. It keeps saying 'fit face into frame' no matter the angle or the lighting. Did a factory reset and no improvement. I have never rooted or unlocked the bootloader on this phone. I informed google support and they are sending me a replacement.
Just to share an experience with the community: After android 11 update I was having glitches with face unlock. (Totally stock, no root & all latest ota) This got worse until it wouldn't work at all. Deleting face & starting over didn't work as it just refused to even acknowledge trying to register anything. Then the auto brightness starting flicking up and down and finally half the screen disappeared under green flickering. A factory hard reset made no difference. I even did it twice but the welcome screen on rebooting was still covered in green flickering. Searching for a new phone reluctantly. I picked up my pixel 4xl again to see if I could think of a way of selling it for any purpose & it was fine! Set up & reinstalled a backup & everything including face unlock works perfectly like new. What was all that about!?
Can you describe full algorithm for noob, please?

I've done relocking bootloader, but it didn`t help, face unlock still not working, OC is stock, latest.
I dunno what's the situation of you guys
But let me share my experience
I was having lock screen lags in Android 11
So I flashed the previous Android 10 image
It broke the face unlock and still broken even after flashing the full Android 11 image with wipe
What I did was flashing back to Android 10 again
Then update to Android 11 through OTA
This also was the method in r beta to fix face unlock issues

Question MI 11 ULTRA Random Restarts - Reboots

Hello dear community,
I have a problem with my Mi 11 Ultra, I been having a issue where my phone restarts randomly. (It can happen at any time, I can be on Youtube, Whatsapp, Maps, Idle, etc and the phone will suddenly flash a green screen and restart. Heavy use or light use, I cant detect a pattern .....)
I been having this Issue 2 month after I bought this phone with CHINA ROM MIUI 13
after that 2 months the restarts appeared.... (can´t remember if there was a System update or something but from April 2022 to May 2022 the phone was working excellent)
I have read that MIUI 13 in other POCO and Xiaomi Phones have the same behavior.. but cant find any solution for MI 11 ULTRA
What I have tried with no positive result:
(Wipe everything with TWRP, all the options, cache, data, interna, etc.)
Install STABLE MIUI EU ROM - Clean Install
Install Weekly MIUI EU ROM - Clean Install
Update Security app - Latest Version in APK Mirror
Delete Cache security app
Today I tried to install Global with MiFlash Tool but mi flash anti rollback check error occurred ;( (Don't know how to solve this...)
Do you think I have a defective Phone with bad Motherboard?
This is very frustrating and at this point I dont know if should buy a Xiaomi Phone again....
Any Help will be appreciated
Hi, i believe you are facing the issue when you are on wifi i am also facing same problem, when on mobile data there is no problem, can u confirm if its same? Wifi problem
in my case It happens on WiFi and mobile Data.
U can flash using platform tools to get rid of antiroll back, search for tutorial in YouTube, try miui 12.5
Global same issue..
Maybe a bad Motherboard?
So yesterday I Flashed OEM CN Rom, update with OTA and the problem persisted...
Then read about issues with restarts and Location Services in MIUI.
I Installed MIUI_EU Latest BETA ROM and deactivated location.
Right now I haven't experienced a single restart. Tomorrow I will activate location to see if the problem persists or maybe the update solved the problem.
Did anyone find a solution?
I bought mine on aliexpress and I have the same problem. It crashes and restarts numerous times a day.
Unlock bootloader and install global MIUI 13.0.4.
Very stable , no crashes/restarts.
the bootloader is unlocked. do i install the rom via fastboot or TWRP?
Both method should be fine .
If using TWRP , use format data option first, else system won't boot up.
If using Miflash use clean all but make sure don't use the lock option.

in the first 24 hours yes. it was working perfect.
Then it started to restart and crash.
without solution.
I am having the same issue....
Please look in the /root/data/vendor/ramdump folder.
I am having lots of ramdumps eating space.
So just received the phone yesterday after sending it for repair to Xiaomi All the way back to China... And this piece of trash phone still rebooting.... Never buying again a phone from this trash company... Also Giztop is so unprofessional because they didn't solved the issue ... They told me that the phone was on perfect condition and they weren't able to solve it. Thanks to them I also had to pay 250usd of taxes because they send it like if it was a new unit... Give yourself a favor and don't buy from Giztopz, they send defective phones.
Try disabling the RAM extension feature.
Or try a custom rom like EvolutionX or CrDroid.
