Find device closed unexpectedly - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

my phone reboots itself sometimes (5-10 times in a day), and after restarting it shows the message "Find device Closed unexpectedly".
i used my phone for 2 years without this problem, but suddenly this problem occurred 1 weeks ago. resetting did not fix it.
any solution?
i am using mi8 miui 11.0.5.0 official global stable
bootloader is unlocked in my china packaging phone.
i wonder why xiaomi phones are so buggy & still the update takes long time to come.
at the end, after each update the phone gets worse.

StkAppService - com.android.stk restart loop?

Hello people, first post
I have this little problem that's been bothering me with my new O2X.
When restarting my phone, the SIM Toolkit service, StkAppService - com.android.stk, pops up in service manager, and seem to be running fine. After a while though, the service seem to get stuck on "restarting".
Haven't quite been able to lock down when/why. Seems to be connected to extended periods in sleep, or playing games, but this could be just random.
When shutting down the service manually, everything seems to be just fine, and it won't come back until I for some reason restart the phone again, then it it'll be back to working fine, and after a while stuck on "restarting" again.
Is this something I should care about at all? Just seems to me that having something stuck in a restart loop (could just take a really long time, not 100% sure it's actually looping yet) would drain my battery.
So, to the point. Could this be a fault of the phone itself (making it a warranty case), a bug with Android 2.2 (wait for 2.3) or an issue with my service proivider (in witch case I'll contact them)?.
Been unable to find the answer on my own, and this is my first Android-phone, so I consult you, the wizards.
Update:
Checked with a friend of mine who bought the O2X at the same time as me, and he also has StkAppService stuck on 'restarting'.
And the phone glitched out and refused to fall asleep by itself today. Restart fixed it though, haven't happened again.
Another Problem with STK
My problem with STK is another one:
I have two SIM-Cards installed in a dual-SIM-Card adapter. So with stock ROM switching between both cards via STK works fine.
Now I tried several CM7-based ROMs, but with all ROMs I receive the following error massage when switching to the other SIM (translated from German to English):
We are sorry! The process com.android.phone has been unexpectedly terminated. Pleas try again later.
After that, I can enter the PIN-code of my SIM and it is activated. I´m not able to switch back, when I tap on the app-icon it switches back to home-screen.
Any solution for that? (sorry for my bad English...)
Hi,
two years alter, I am facing the same issue, and XDA developers apparently are not working on including proper STKs with custon 4+ Android Roms.
It's a pity

[Q] Always get stuck - Motorola Logo - (every month)

Hey guys how are you?
Well everybody knows about the Stuck in motorola logo right? Well, I always use the RSD Lite and re-install the Rom (9.8.2I-50_SML-29_Retail_BR_SIGNED_SLATAMUnlk_USASMI01RETBRLA022.0R_S1FF_CFC_fb.xml) and ALWAYS get the problem back in a few weeks like 4 or 6 weeks.
So, here in forum I only found replies like "fastboot", "rsd lite"...and I already am doing that every time but doesn't fix the problem (just for a little time).
Someone knows how to fix like "forever"? (or at least more than 1 month haha)

I have the same problem here =/
hardware or software error?
Same problem here.
It starts with apps closing without error message, random reboots and slowdowns. The first time I also could not call anyone although I had a good connection.
Sometimes the booting process also lasts several minutes. Then, finally after some days one of those reboots or forced reboots ends at the Motorola logo.
Used RSD Lite to flash "CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBRTEU", everything works fine and after 1-2 month the history repeats itself.
People seem to have this problem a lot since mid 2014.
Do you think this is a hardware error (memory fail e.g.)?
Or a software problem induced by some newer apps?

Note 5 on STOCK crashing and boot failure trainwreck - Reflashing stock ROM no help

Hi,
I've owned my VERIZON Samsung Galaxy Note 5 since early December and have not rooted the device. Today while taking notes in lecture, the device began displaying notices for crashed background apps (Gmail has crashed, Nova launcher has crashed, etc.) The problem persisted for another hour, even after booting into safe mode. I wiped the cache and factory reset the device, however during setup, Samsung keyboard would crash along with other apps running in the background during setup (One time I got "Samsung Galaxy has stopped working"). The phone started increasingly randomly rebooting since the phone first began to malfunction.
Since the factory reset didn't seem to actually reflash the firmware, I downloaded OJ3 stock ROM and flashed successfully using Odin, however the phone began acting even more erratically and failed to boot 4 out of every 5 boot loops. I tried flashing OGJ, which failed to boot worse than OJ3. I just flashed OJ2, which seems to be more stable than the other flashes I tried, however I'm still getting sluggish performance, random reboots and crashes of background apps immediately after booting.
At this point I believe it is defective hardware and I should call in the warranty for a new phone.
Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any speculation on the source of the issue? What should I know going into attempting to exchange for a new phone?
Note 5 crash
Yep, have the same problem, but I have not attempted to Flash the Phone yet...
Did multiple factory resets, clear caches... but to no avail. There is no structure or pattern in crash rate. Although it is getting more often day by day...
Found no working sollution, but it feels like there is a bad memory segment or something. Everytime it randomly uses that segment... crash!
Really don't know. Will try to get warrenty fix.
Let me know if you found a sollution on your side?
Cheers,
Wim

OP here. Made a warranty claim, they seem to have replaced the motherboard as the solution. Complete repair experience from warranty claim to package back at my doorstep was less than two weeks, which is impressive for what I've heard about Samsung's support. Good luck!

Phone reboots multiple times per day, especially after hibernation.

Hi guys,
I just bought a new Xiaomi MI 5 and already came across a big issue for myself.
The phone reboots very often, multiple times a day.
It was a fresh install and I have done another hard reset just to be sure but that didn't work.
I'm on the latest version of 8.2.2.0 (MIUI)
One thing I noticed that the phone reboots after a hibernation period of a few minutes.
Wondering what the best course of action is in this case?
I'm thinking of putting another OS on first just to see if that helps.
I did buy the phone physically overseas so it will be a bit of a hassle to return it so I'm hoping to avoid that.
Thanks.

HUAWEI P20 PRO NEW - Malfunction

Hello all,
I’m posting to seek for help from people who can eventually had the same problem I’m facing right now.
I’ve a HUAWEI P20, 2 months old, that suddenly stops working. Yesterday I turn it off like any other day and today at starting it keeps 10 minutes or so in the logo screen, without start, and after that it starts just to keep “alive” for some seconds (respond to touch, open app and all), but immediately freeze again (after a 20 seconds or so), don't respond, and after a few minutes restarts in the same way (10 minutes or more in the first logo screen, and keeps in this loop).
ANY IDEAS OR SOLUTIONS?
The phone is on warranty, but I would like to avoid sent it for repair, as I have one app with important data, and without recent backup.
Thanks to all in advance.
All the best,
Francisco.
