anyone got clear view case.......
I'm trying to figure out where the magnets are placed and the chip..
if you feel the case material you can feel the magnets and where the chip is
Reason is i bought note 20 clear view instead of note20 ultra case. so i was going to put sensors in my present case so it switch off when i close
picture would be helpful
there should be an indentation of where the magnet is from what I remember. It's really thin on the bottom left of the flap. I believe all versions since they introduced that line.

They're located just below the indention (and to the left) for the fingerprint sensor on the cover flap.

thanks.. so that's 1 on the front cover
nearly there
on the back cover there's more magnets
the magnets are probably easiest to find.....but the chip the hardest since it's not magnetised and hardest to feel...
the picture shows what i have
1.magnet for front as you point out
what's left for back cover is
small round magnet
a chip
and larger flat metal piece

The chip is NFC. It'll tell the phone that you are using that particular case and give you a notification to download themes based on the color of the case. It should be close enough to rear but not block/interfere the NFC antenna after the initial read.
Try and turn on your NFC and tap it.

Hi I hit my phone and it has damage on the white part of the phone and on the speakers cover on the front. I ordered the replacement for the cover, but I have no idea how can I replace it without damaging my phone. Please help if possible.
Thanks
Apparently the top speaker cover is screwed in. The bottom one can pop off, but I've read that it can be very difficult.
Probably unlikely you can remove the covers without damaging the phone.

I think the speakers cover, white plastic and aluminum back body are all glued together in one piece so it would be very hard (if not impossible) to replace any of those separately.
I'm confused. From my understanding, the speakers are part of the unibody design. You cannot remove it unless you're removing the entire body. Look at the following image:

I just received my moto x today and I went with the black leather back. Is there supposed to be a pin size hole in the bottom center? I have a pic for reference. Thanks for any replies.
Yes. My wood back has the same hole. I think it is for noise cancellation.

FYI - I used pure neatsfoot oil to condition my leather. I used a piece of an old t-shirt and just got a bit sparingly on the rag then rubbed the leather with it. Then I let it sit for a bit and used a clean piece of old t-shirt to blot any greasiness, but it pretty much soaked in.
That was when it was new. I have done it 1 more time since. I can tell I am starting to get a patina mostly where I tend to hold the phone with my hand and I want it to be more even so I try to rub the whole back from time to time. Basically, I massage my phone, lol!
If you're in the UK and desperate to get your screen protected until something better comes along, I can personally recommend this product.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161994219563&alt=web
It is of the wet apply variety however what I like about this is it has very low friction (rubbery feel) under finger like some other I've experienced in the past. Seller is UK based. I collected from Argos the day after I ordered it.
I've had Zagg in the past and considering how much they charge this is somewhat comparable in terms of quality. For £4 it will more than suffice until (read if) a decent tempered one hits the shelves.

Perseverance to be honest. I found that the main screen piece held in place quickest. I squeegeed out excess liquid via the edges. Then started to work on the edges. Took a few attempts but eventually the edges held good enough in place. For several hours after while watching TV I used a combination of thumbs and fingers to smooth out any noticeable liquid. I also used a rubber pencil eraser to smooth out. Kept working on the edges too. I'm a bit anal about things like this so I kept at it until the whole screen surface was satisfactory to me lol. Next day it had cured fully.
Just found my first issue with these . Put in my pocket while I biked to work took out of pocket when at work and it had lifted. And also it's scratched like mad I know it's meant to protect the screen underneath but it looks awful. Also if it scratches in my pocket what's it going to do if it meets anything sharp. Think I'll be looking for something else. Gutted

Must've been chaffing on the phone quite a bit for it to lift! I can run my finger quite hard against the edge and no lift. I can see what you mean about the other issue though. I'm using mine with the Clear View case from Samsung so hadn't noticed. Ran my finger nail down the screen protector and it does seem to leave a little mark. It's protecting the screen so I can't complain too much plus you only notice the marks when angled in the right light.
As I say, for £4 - which is basically nothing - and quick UK delivery, for me I'm treating this as a cheap and quick method of protecting the screen until something better comes along.

Ordered one too. Only £6 for screen only.
I've bought 4 different ones and the first two didn't fit around the edges, the last two fit but had the cutouts cut wrong so it slightly cut off my notification light and camera unless I moved it lower and cut off the top of my status bar, and they started to fall off after a week or so. I've been searching for awhile but nothing is confirmed or better it seems. If anyone has had actual luck with one please let me know where to find it

So I got it and it does cover the entire screen which is good, but since it's film instead of glass or plastic, it scratches easily. I've had it on for 6+ hours and it already has a scratch that is noticeable at certain angles. It comes with two so that does make it better but I'm still not sure how I feel about it in general

It might be, the only way to clear it will be to remove the back panel and clean it. I think i might apply for a replacement. Only one person mentioned this issue so this might be device specific.
I got water vapour in my lens both
It was my mistake as well, i had kept my phone in my rain jacket pocket and it was raining a lot. Although the phone was under zipper pocket the condensation of water vapour is visible under the lens. I know this phone is not water proof however Asus could have done a better job at least to seal the camera lens.

so would it be ok to just put a tape on the vent? it's not that useful anyway right?
im guessing it's the main reason why dust goes into the phone.
btw did the og rog phone suffer from this issue too?

I just taped the vent the day I received the phone because the vent doesn't do much cooling at all. Been using it all day for past 9 days, travelling outside in a very dusty City and not even a particle of dust visible anywhere.

Just used transparent tape. A rectangular piece in the right size such that the Aero case which they've given exactly covers both of the sides of the tape. Basically unnoticeable.

I know this phone is not water proof however Asus could have done a better job at least to seal the camera lens.

Hope it disappears on its own ?

My phone went through a tough time because of rain. The power button was misbehaving, I guess there was some moisture in there as well. I thought that it was the end for my ROG phone just after 7 days of purchase. However in after 3 dry days, everything is normal once again. I guess I was lucky. The condensation has gone away completely. I do not have any spec pf dust in my camera under the glass. The power button is working good once again :good:

I just noticed there is a lot of dust particles in the wide angle camera lens. It was not there before and this much dust is accumulated inside just in 5 days of usage. The main camera unit is dust free though.
Please share if anyone is having same issue. Other wise its a device specific issue.

Were you using the cooler fan on it? Im just wondering if dust got forced into the phone via the gaming cooler??
I havent used the cooler on my ROG2 yet, after seeing this i'm quite reluctant to use it too..... :crying:

No i haven't used the cooler. This was with normal usage. Only one other user mentioned this same issue in the thread so i ordered a replacement and its on the way. I hope this was a device specific issue.

Put in a bag of uncooked rice to absorb the moisture... Might work, leave it for a long time tho, perhaps in a warm spot too

Putting the device in a bag of rice does not absorb moisture according to new facts and proof. They are claiming this method as myth and just nonsense.

What about a bag of silica gel placed in a box with the phone? Just another idea...

Rice does nothing man. farks sake all you ricer peeps are brainwashed.
I just received the replacement. If this also acquires dust i will update the post after a few days of use ( i also have taped the orange accented back opening just to be safe ). As for the red tint, its still there but much less as compared to my previous device, so this confirms this is a panel behavior, which means if you are planning to replace the device it might be good or bad ie the new device might have less tint or more tint.

I doubt it's panel behaviour. Since I did more test and for me i suspect it's software behaviour, because white theme gives 0 red tint.
Only on grey scale red tint shows more.

That is the actual issue. Irrespective of any theme or skin. Any dark grey turns reddish on low brightness and high refresh rate. Any other color is unaffected, so why would white turn red?
