I bought this phone ta 1012 off someone else and it was bricked (bootlooping) so i managed to flash stock 488 using nost/ost and when the phone boots it has no wifi or mac address or sim. Tried a bunch of other full roms from the xda ftp as well same result. Tried flashing stock boots to both slot a and b but not sure if the month has to match security version or what?
Anything else I am missing? Some help would be appreciated. Thanks

IN the past, we have been able to easily flash roms made for International phones on TMO Devices.
The S5 was the best because the two phones were nearly identical and you could flash any international ROM on a TMO PHONE>
That is not the case now with the NOTE 4 and I hope someone can figure out a fix.
I flashed ECHO a new rom on Inrternational today and at first it wouldnt boot - so I switched the Boot Image with a TMO Kernel Boot Image and then I was able to flash - unfortunately DATA did work. (WIFE WORKS FINE)
When I tried to add my APNS - the eror message I got was 'Insert a Valid Sim". So I am at a a loss and hopeful that someone who is smarter than me can figure out what we need to do to flash International ROMS on N910t.
Aside from having to change the Kernel to a TMO Kernal - something else has to happen so the SIM Card is recognized. (after flashing ECHO, when I went to About Phone/Status - there was no IMEI number listed - which is, I am sure, at the root of the problem)
(FYI - I tried inserting a APN XML from a working TMO ROM and that didn't help at all) that was the only thing I could think of - obvious that I am not a dev, right?
So anyway - I am hoping someone has some ideas and can figure out what we need to do to make this work.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Just a guess: the rom you installed included a modem? AFAIK, you really never want to switch modems from the one you have from your carrier. If you have a nandroid you could try restoring your old original modem from it if that is the problem.

6 months ago I sold my Nexus 6 to one of my friends and he has been flashing ROMs with no problems.
A few days ago he started having problems at the setup screen after flashing a new ROM. The ROMs all get stuck on the "checking connection...." screen. I had him bring me the phone and I flashed the newest factory image and put the phone back to 100% stock, booted up and same issue. I was able to pull his sim card (Verizon) and get past it finally. We ended up thinking it was a sim card issue so he went to Verizon and got a new sim card activated and popped it in. Flashed Chroma and Pure Nexus ROMs and got the same issue, stuck on checking connection. He has pulled the sim card out and tried flashing the ROM's also and gets the same issue now. I'm not a fastboot noob so I know the images are being flashed correctly. I've tried going back to older factory images and get the same problem. Anyone have any advice or know what could be causing this?

I guess I never noticed that. I use AT&T, but never pay enough attention. Verizon seems to be ok in the area though.

I tested by resetting my Verizon Moto E and it breezes right past that screen. I'm really puzzled by this.
I figured out what's causing the issue. He somehow lost the IMEI of the phone. When I had the phone I always kept an efs backup but I deleted them all. I've flashed all kinds of factory images and it won't come back. When I do a *#06# the IMEI shows all zeros so I know it's software fixable. Just not sure of the exact procedure I need to follow.

Hi,
Recently I tried to clean flash AOKP on my stock rom using twrp 3.0.2.X, after flashing when i boot up the device it wasnt detecting sim card and the device's IMEI, SN, BT/WIFI/MAC/IP address are unavailable, I manually tried to restore IMEI using this guide but the device cant detect sim card in custom roms like CM/AOKP/MOKEE but when i revert to stock kitkat rom it works fine and I just have NVRAM Error in wifi available wifi list. Please help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

Hello
I need help, some days I tried to install a GSI ROM on my XT1944-3 however it never booted up, after returning back to my previous backup I noticed that the sim isn't recognized by the phone, at this point I tried reinstalling the firmware, even I tried flashing the NON-HLOS from the dual sim variants without success
As you can see in the screenshot that I attached also I lost other numbers
Also I checked the IMEI on blacklist and it's clean
I don't know if someone else faced this before and could solve it, please help me

If you are still having issues, you probably just need to re-install firmware, then OTA updates and that should restore the sim.
Do you know the IMEI numbers ? Then it's easy with Code *#6813# insert and press ok
-i have also problem with imei i installed
[ROM][10.0.0_r41]LineageOS 17.1 for Moto E5 (nora) + Recovery [64Bit] mmoto e5 work fine imei is restored
Hello guys, so about 4 months ago I flashed HentaiOS, and after that I flashed wrong type of kernel.
After that I restarted to the system and my Sim Card and Wi-Fi didn't work, My phone doesn't find any Wi-Fi and it doesn't recognize the Sim Card. Is there anything that I can do? I live in Iraq and I brought to Xiaomi Iraq and they said that I have to change the motherboard, it costs 120 dollars to repair. Is there anything that I can do without changing the motherboard? Thanks for answering
