Hi!
Yesterday i rooted my SGS and installed ROM Manager.
Wi-Fi was working fine.
Today i created a backup using the option "Backup Current ROM".
Minutes later i tried to connect to Wi-Fi. Unsuccessful.
I keeps "Getting IP adress..." but it can't connect and i can't see any icon in the task bar.
Do you know what i can do to fix it?
It's something related with the clockworkmod recovery that was installed with ROM Manager?
I have searched for the past thirty minutes and have not found a solution so i decided to post in the place where every person seems to know the answer to every question. Anyways, my tp succesfully got set up in ICS and WIFI turned on at first for me to do my original setup, but after rebooting to flash the charger fix and new kernel, my wifi will not connect. I tried a fresh install to make sure the kernel was not the issue, to no avail. When i try and slide the wifi on/off switch to on it just slides back and clicking on the button does nothing. I also tried to add the power widget to the main screen and hit the Wifi button from there, but that was also borked. Any help would be appreciated.
Try setting your router to a specific channel I put mine on 9 and it works now. I was having wifi issues after reboot but after setting the Chanel on my router they went away
If I forget my network, then reboot, then reconnect it seems to work fine. I tried a few other "fixes" I have read about and nothing else seems to work for me at this point...
The problem is not my network, its the fact that i cannot hit the "on" button for wifi

The OP did make the problem clear!
Looks like a reinstall may be needed.
try fixing permissions from CWM.
If that doesn't work, I suggest to have a look at the logcat entries while trying to switch on and off the Wifi, you may see the reason for the error there.
What version of CM9 is intalled? did you install any special kernel? What channel is your wifi on? (I changed mine from 11 to 1 and it's stayed connected for days now!)
Try a full cache and dalvik cache wipe in ClockworkMod. If that fails, then do a full wipe, re-install and try again from scratch.
This happened to me when I updated to Alpha 0.5. I had to go back and reflash the bricked kernel which i previously installed. I think he made a change to the wifi settings and if I remember correctly he told you how to go back to stock cm9 if you wanted to. But if you installed bricked before that's your problem, reflash it in CWM
bricked kernel uses a different WIFI module, so you need to have both in sync (kernel and driver).
If it worked on first boot, I presume he didn't change the kernel, so something else must be causing his WIFI to fail (fail to start, not fail to connect)
As we mention before, I will go for permissions, cache and get a logcat for the error
Permissions did not work so I wiped and started fresh for the third time....well I guess third time is a charm because I am posting from the TP right now thanks guys.
ive used the xda tool for k50 to root and flash touch recovery, taken a backup and flashed xposed. there was no chance to recover after bootloop cause for whatever reason, it wasnt saved.. even rom flash wont work in recovery and a backup ive found is to big to load with bad connection (google storage has no resume feature). as the phone staid in this state some hours, it surprisingly fixed itself, coming up with stock but system updates arent working. no problem until yet. but now the settings app closes instantly without a message - any ideas?
hi,
i have somme issue with magisk and wifi, after i rooted my A50 with magisk (the dedicated one) i noticed that i have to always forget the network and re enter the wifi code after each reboot to get conected ... but if i reboot the device without root it work normally
i dont know if it help but the phone allways rebbot 3 time to start with root
tnxs in advance
You have to install Libsecure_Storage magisk module
Thanks. This just started to happen to me. I thought it was from my house power being flakey. I'm off grid, solar, wind, and old generator.
I have to fix files on my PC from surges and figured it was the same on my Nexus 6.
I used a couple cleaners and reloaded Los16 once.
But that only seemed to work for a few hours.
I'm also stuck using my wife's iPhone hotspot and tinkering with different network settings for compatibly.. I'll keep you informed
Hello!
When I unlock my phone (Redmi Note 11 NFC, version is V13.0.12.0.RGKEUXM, there's an update available V13.0.13.0.RGKEUXM but I can't do it because of this problem), a few seconds later it reboots into the recovery menu. I've searched for a fastboot ROM of the update so I could manually update it, but it isn't available (only "recovery" version). I was wondering if I could backup the files on it before trying to wipe it, but if I don't need to wipe it, it'd be even better. Is it possible? If so, how? (I've tried rebooting it many times, "safe mode" that didn't actually do anything, connecting to MiAssistant which didn't work, activating Airplane mode, uninstalling recent apps.)
Same problem, started today. Already tried wiping data and the problem persists, so don't bother.
