Photos too blurred and slow download speeds over Wi-Fi - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi all, so I have couple of issues with my P30 Pro:
1. The photos of people are too blurred, i.e. the skin is too blurred, to the point where it looses defining features, knees aren't defined, the skin looks completely different and so on. I can probably post couple of pictures if you need. The background of these pictures (the nature) is pretty sharp though. Tried Auto mode with Master AI both enabled and disabled, Pro mode, HDR mode, at all times of day.
2. Download speeds since the update to EMUI 10.1 (and several updates after) on 5GHz WiFi 5 (ac) network are limited to 110 Mbps, although the upload maxes out at my connection limit (600 Mbps), my laptop gets 500-600 Mbps download speeds over the same network. I have 1 Gbps download and 600 Mbps connection. And before the EMUI 10.1 update I was getting comfy 400-500 Mbps download on my phone.
Does someone have any ideas? Especially on WiFi
Currently on 10.1.0.150

You should post example photo here where your problem can be clearly seen.
This look like a case of camera without autofocus, focused on infinity. If there happened, it can probably be solved because it's software based.

[Q] Speed testing

Increasing speed input/output.
So yesterday, I was out and about, and did a speed test. 3 bars, and I was at 6mps in, and 4.5mps, up. At home, with 4 bars I was at 5.1mps in, and 4.3 up. Even my wifi is terrible. Is there anyway to improve on this? Or is it just the cell towers?
Make sure you aren't testing on an overloaded server. That slows speeds down lot. Also tests done indoors tend to be slower as well
Different servers equal different results.
I've been getting huge differences in results depending on the server. I've noticed some abnormally high speed tests while in 5 bar coverage.
Eventhough a server is further away, it might give you a faster speed.
I would also test your speeds with a browser that can view pages in desktop mode, Dolphin/Opera.
Another way to test it would be to tether to your PC or Mac and do a speedtest on speedtest.net and speakeasy. Until I tried a server other than my hometown my speeds were never higher than 3.5Mbps.
There is also another thread in here that talks about a perceived speed increase caused by the OTA Update that was recently pushed.

[Q] "slow" Wireless AC speeds

I say slow because they are much slower that a Galaxy S4 and Note 3. At work today we were testing out a Belkin AC router to a cable modem. Using the Speedtest.net app the galaxy's were reliably hitting 200-210 Mbs download speeds. My new One was only able to muster 95Mbs down. I come home and connect to my ASUS N66 router and I'm able to hit 104Mbs reliably. What gives? This makes no sense to me. I verified I had a 433 Mbs link when on the AC router at work, same as the Samsungs, we were all in the same location I even tried standing where they were and holding the phone differently in-case I was blocking the antenna. I never expected to be able to get 104 down at home standing one room and 30 feet for the router. Is there something weird going on with the app maybe?

In WiFi advanced settings, disable WiFi optimization - other uses stated it helped them to increase the speeds.

Thanks I read that and tried it to no avail. Speeds were better yesterday at 150Mbs and inline with a coworkers brand new ONE running 4.3. I believe it is just a matter of how HTC deals with packet size (windowing) and not truly indicative of throughput capability. The test runs for a limited time and the throughput increased throughout the entire test. If it ran longer it would climb higher but just how high is the question.
It's a matter of curiosity more than anything as I never need those speeds nor are the repeatable anywhere but in that test"lab" In reality I only have a 100M connection at home and with power boost see speeds of 150 max. I get 100+ reliably (5Ghz N network) to the phone from my main living space and that's nothing to complain about.
I will have to say the range on the ONE is outstanding. My desk is 100 feet from the AP and I was able to obtain 125Mbs reliably from my desk. I didn't have the chance to compare it to the S4 at that distance but I can't complain about that speed.

[Q] Wi-fi Speeds

Hi
Wonder if anyone experienced the same problems as me.
The Wi-fi speeds I am getting is around 30 mb on my nook, although this is a reasonable speed I noticed that it goes down sometimes quite a bit. I belive the nook can only connect to the 2.4g wifi and not the 5g.
In comparison my windows laptop (2.g) gets 50mb
My Iphone gets 55mb and my other Windows tablet gets around 45mb
I now the Nook is quite old now so is it just not able to pick up high fiber-optic speeds or is there a fault somewhere?
Thanks
Yes, the Nook only supports 2.4 GHz 802.11n, with a maximum MCS index of 7.
What does that mean? Wikipedia has a handy table here.
It might look confusing at first, but here is how it works. The maximum data rate depends on three factors (apart from the modulation type):
1. the number of spatial streams (basically antennas, 1-4)
2. whether or not 40 MHz wide channels are supported
3. whether or not short guard intervals (GI) are supported
The WiFi chip in the Nook has only one antenna and supports neither 40 MHz channels nor short GI (at least it's set up that way in our firmwares). Therefore, the maximum achievable data rate is 65 MBit/s.
It can also be lower, if the signal is weak. You can check the current number in Android's WiFi settings, by touching the name of the WiFi you're currently connected to.
However, that's the link speed, the theoretical maximum that also includes WiFi protocol overhead. In practice, you can consider yourself lucky if you achieve about half of that for payload / user data.
So, if your tablet is connected at 65 MBit/s, you can expect a usable data rate of about 32 MBit/s at best (3.8 MiB/s). The final data rate can also be throttled even further by other system components, like bus and CPU speed, etc.
My phone for example also has MCS index 7, but supports 40 MHz, and therefore has faster WiFi with link speeds up to 135 MBit/s. And my notebook has MCS index 15, two antennas, with both 40 MHz and short guard interval, therefore achieving 300 MBit/s (provided of course your WiFi router / access point supports that as well).
Long story short, the relatively slow speed you're getting on the Nook is probably normal and by design.
Thanks for the detailed post.
I am guessing that 30 mb is quite good then in comparison

Your speed is about all its going to get but in comparison to it being bad? Its rather bad...

Android 7 - 5Ghz WiFi slow

Jun-3 2017 got OTA update a few weeks ago. T813 doesn't have problem connecting to 5Ghz wifi but on 5Ghz the connection is slow. Appears to be capped at about 10MB. Whenever I run speedtest while connected to my 5Ghz network I get 10MB uploads. Disconnect from 5Ghz, rerun speedtest and I get 80MB uploads. Go back to 5Ghz rerun speedtest, back to 10MB. Can reproduce this every time.
I guess I am stuck not using 5Ghz.

Found this in a different thread. Changed to channel 40 and speedtest shows upload speeds of 80MB. Netgear recommends using channels above 149 but I will stick to 40. Anyone know why using the lower band 5Ghz channels gives higher speeds than the higher band channels?
do you happen to be using a euro model in north america? what is your CSC and which country are you using the device?
On router (if possible) change channel width to 20 any frequency should fix wifi. Atleast for me this worked
Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
After changing the routers channel bandwith, this thing goes from 10 mbps to 80mbps. They need to fix this. All my other devices max out at 235mbps on 5ghz. This tab is too advanced to be doing this.
Had the exact same issue on my new T713 and the channel width change from Auto to 20 worked for me on Asus router. Left the Control Channel on Auto. Thanks!
I had this same issue too. I had to turn off Power Save Support then I didn't have anymore 5 GHz slowdowns

Mine had the slowdown with Power Save off - the channel bandwidth was what fixed mine.
hey guys, my download speed is very slow on 5ghz wifi, but few time ago was working well, I dont know what happened. My macbook reach 120MB download and 10MB upload, but my galaxy s8 shows 10MB dowload speed. I tried change my channel width on router, but didn't work.

I'm finding 5GHz to be a real mixed bag across all of my devices - Tab S2 T713, 2 iPad Air 2's, Dell XPS 13 9350 laptop, a Lenovo desktop, 2 Dell desktops, and a Galaxy S7 Edge phone. Performance seems to be inconsistent and I see complete dropouts where the band isn't even visible on some devices. This is irrespective of distance from the router, an Asus RT-AC66U_B1, number of connected devices, etc. When it's good, I see 120MB/sec but other times it will drop off by 50% or more or will disconnect. I've pretty much reverted to 2.4GHz except when I get the urge to test 5GHz out again.

WiFi strength, range, and throughput

Rate this thread to express how you think the OnePlus 5T's Wifi performs. A higher rating indicates that it has excellent range, throughput, and signal strength. Like when you're taking a dump in the bedroom upstairs, do your videos have to buffer or do they come through without interruption?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
My phone is having issues with calls only on the WiFi, cutting voice, tried so much to get support but nothing so far, and with the 15 days I can't just waste time.
Returning it, WiFi issues is not tolerable.

wi-fi speeds for me are much improved over my oneplus 3. I was seriously thinking my ISP was overstating their DL speeds when they sold to me. My package is 350/20... Couldn't be happier. Not only are speeds maxing out at a good level but they steady too with no dips.
Doesn't matter where I am. Bedroom, living room, toilet... the wi-fi on this thing is awesome. On my oneplus 3 the link speed shown was 433 and I was getting an average of 280Mb/s. Now the link speed is 840-something at upto 397Mb/s.

Downloads on new device 50 percent faster
I've noticed the wifi connectivity is reduced. For example, sitting in the same room as my router, I have full wifi. If I put my arm or leg between the phone and the router, I lose about a third of connectivity. Strange.
I have some connection issues with some access points
100 Mbps WiFi, gets me 20mbps speeds on this phone. 88mbps on the poco f1, 68 on the Samsung note 8. I installed WiFi bonding magisk. Now it's at 58mbps.

Either one of them, doesn't matter, it's the same. Did multiple tests, multiple different times. But like I said, using WIFIbonding module helps loads.
WiFi is very bad for me on Android 10 (OOS 10.0.0). It disconnects every 5-10 minutes and also the phone Is overheating. Has anyone faced this issues? Any fixes?
Yes. I was facing the same issue on oos 10 so I switched to derpfest custom rom?
