It's not as good as my Redmi K30 Pro on Pixel Experience, about 60~70% battery life.
The 2k screen with high refresh rate and the bad rom cost lot of battery. The 12.0.12 MIUI rom is not completedly ready for Mi 11, hope the next update will fix it.

It would bre great if someone can help me check competibility with this app:

Xiaomi Mi 8 vs. S9+ in DxOMark

Hello
Does Xiaomi Mi 8 make such good photos/videos as Samsung Galaxy S9+ (according to DxoMark it should make the same, both phones achieved 99 points in photo/video category)?
Thanks

Nope. Samsung videos are unbeatable according to reviewers. Photos might be better on the mi8.
It has a 105 dxomark for photo. Video dragged it down.
Also, techtablets made a video on the mi8 vs op6, the audio recording capabilities of the mi8 are very very bad (might be a software issue). You should check out that video.

You can't freeze the action using auto mode. Sometimes you get lucky. The auto mode of Huawei Mate 10 is quite good and the phone can take good action shots.
The reason why I didn't get this phone is I can't get K9 mail to work unless you use the global ROM. With the Mi 8, K9 works but only sometimes. It's a step up from my Mate 8 though except for the manual mode. Might have to use the global ROM too but unlocking the boot loader takes a long time!

The most expensive will be the explorers edition with a transparent back and an in-display fingerprint sensor, also with a smaller battery (3000mah).
I'm in HK and for me here the mi8 is a lot cheaper. You can just check their website and compare prices.
Mi 8 6gb + 128gb = HK$3,699
Mi mix 2s 6gb+ 128gb = HK$4,399
Mi mix 2s uses ceramic on the back I think that's why it's more expensive.
The explorers edition is not out yet so no prices on that.
The lowest end which is the mi8 se has an all together different design and a different chipset(snapdragon 710), first released on this phone itself.

there are dozens of videos on YouTube of the OnePlus 8T (newer than yours) up against S20FE and Pixel 4a etc. go watch a bus load of videos and you'll have a better idea. aside from that FE will have a newer processor, a memory card slot or dual SIM, but only you should decide if it's worth it.
remember there are a few versions of the FE and they are not all the same.

I agree - and I just upgraded to the S20 FE 5G. But I was coming from a Galaxy S9+, which is a year older than your 7 Pro. Even then, the S20 FE doesn't blow me away in comparison - I actually think the screen is nicer (and brighter in normal use) on the S9+, and I'm still getting used to the punch hole camera, and lack of a notification light. I bought it mainly for the increase in storage (as I use the SD Card slot for a second SIM, so can't add memory) and the 120 MHz display, faster processor etc. Even then, I don't really find it noticeably faster in normal use - as I mentioned in another post, it never ceases to amaze me just how much marketing departments and the media exaggerate each year's (real world) improvements. All of which is to say that phones have gotten so good - and have been for a few years now - that it makes no sense to upgrade until you either have to or there is a clear advantage to doing so.
Edit: Having done some more side-by-side comparison, the S20 FE 5G is noticeably faster of course, and the screen is fine. Plus, the battery life has been stellar. All-in-all, it's a great phone for the price - especially the 8GB/256GB 5G version.

You generally don't want your phones to charge really fast, it's extremely detrimental to battery's lifespan. 15W-25W is already overdoing it and should be the maximum for most people.
I rarely get this phone below 50% and then it's up to 75 again pretty quick. if you want your phone to charge faster turn off Wi-Fi, go into airplane mode or even better switch it off for 30 mins.

General What's wrong with you Xiaomi ?

After a month of use i would say :
I'm a new user of xiaomi phone, and i choose the mi 11. My last phone was a pixel 3xl and before samsung's phones.
The mi 11 is a powerful phone and a beautiful screen ... YES ! but :
The battery life is bad
Touch sensivity issues
The camera ... after my pixel 3
and the difference between regions for updates. I don't understand why china has already miui 12.5 update since more than two month and the others not....
I think it's my first xiaomi phone and the last !
I'm on xiaomi.eu 12.5. Everything is fine. Battery lasts me for a whole day of use.
What you mean by touch sensitivity issues?
Concerning battery life I was scared for first time but for now it's Good and really hope it will be better with MIUI 12.5

First of all, MIUI 12.5 in China only launches this month, so I'm not sure where you got the info.
Second, have you checked what's hogging your battery? I know the usual culprit is the screen with the settings maxed out (120Hz, WQHD+). But I have those settings selected and I can easily survive the day on a single full charge.
Circling back, the regional difference is due to the user's preference. In China, users don't use Google, use different frequencies and uses Beidou instead of GPS, hence the difference in ROMs.
I suggest you do your research before buying your phone.

That title's funny.
Also, could you please elaborate the touch issues?
Well I have my mi11 now 2 weeks and have ~34 h of battery life. (Incl 2 h of mobile legends).
Had this time with global 12 and now with xiaomi.eu 12.5 rom
No problems.
My 'old' mi 6 was nearly empty after 2 h of legends.
The cam is really disappointing. Zooming before taking the foto makes too much noise. But I have for fotos a x-t3 and for snapshots it's enough.
Screen non responding is no issue on my device. The game mode, where you have to double click on the three navigation buttons was a thing in the first moments.

battery life is bad? you are getting a 120Hz WQHD+ screen with Mi 11 - your Pixel 3XL has a smaller screen of lower resolution and is only 60Hz
Also Mi 11 comes with the most powerful SOC on the market - snapdragon 888
Mi 11 is more powerful in every way and has a battery that last the whole day (at least for me) - no point in comparing it with an older phone
There are maybe 5-6 phones on the market that can last you more than 1 day of heavy use
btw MIUI 12.5 global stable launched today and I am just now downloading it
Xiaomi made the worst 888 powered smartphones in terms of battery consumption. Even the Mi 11 Ultra with 5000mah has a worse battery life than the OP9 Pro and Oppo Find X3 Pro with 4500mah... So, yes, battery life on Mi 11 compared to others is just awful.

Question Is Mi 11 ultra worth it??

I am planning to buy either s21 ultra or mi 11 ultra.I live in asia.So my questions are:
Is there overheating issue??
Is battery life that bad??
How is the software updates in asia version of the mobile.
Is the shutter issue fixed?
Should i buy mi 11 ultra over s21 ultra??
Can you guys please help on choosing a phone.Would really appreciate it.
1. There is, but if you tune down resolution and refresh rate you get good results until they fix it, if they can
2. Dependes,6h screen on if you use it normaly with everything on, can go 9h in my case with FHD and 60hz
3. Moderate, like every 2 or 3 weeks
4.the delay still occasionally happens. might fix it if you remove all animations, havent tested.
5.Thats arguable, my opinion, depends on the price, but only s21 Ultra(snapdragon version) over Mi11 ultra. s21ultra Exynos has some limitations.
You said you live in Asia but where? If it is China you live then software update are quite frequent and battery life has improved a lot. Also if you check my thread on battery you can get useful information about how to save on battery life (I get 8h SoT easily on official global ROM still stuck on 12.5.4.0). Regarding the choice between the two phones, be aware that Mi 11 Ultra comes at a mich cheaper price and also with the battery charger included. You must consider then different aspects before buying a phone because indeed it's a phone you are buying not a camera if you know what I mean

Having the phone from mid may, I would say go for Samsung. I had enough with this phone. It supposed to be flagship, in reality we pay Xiaomi for the luxury to be used as guinea pigs. Even on the last stable version there's plenty of software bugs. For the amount of software updates this phone got, especially in China should tell you something is wrong with it. I wish I never bought it. Don't listen to the fanbois around here - they'll do everything to convince you xiaomi is better. Go to the S21 Ultra thread and check there how many problems they have. Then form an opinion for yourself. Good luck.

Ok I agree about the problems are much less on Samsung .. I have both mi 11 ultra and s21 ultra snapdragon and I can confirm overall the Samsung is a much better phone (software options like dex, camera most of scenarios, accessories are literally everywhere and battery life) ...
BUT. Mi 11 ultra have the WOW factor! And it comes second only to Samsung with a lot cheaper price ,,, software tricks in EU ROM are unmatched and it will get better with 12.5 enhanced then miui 13
We can't consider a device as a bad device because there is only one device is better!
MIUI is the weakest aspect of Mi 11 ultra. The list of bugs is enormous, security updates are slow, and dark mode is a pain. For me, even the proximity sensor has not been working properly all the time and all apps; Sometimes the screen will turn on when it is held near the ear during a call. Overall, it is not a pleasant experience. I am not sure how is the feel of one UI. I bit and expect Samsung's skin to be somewhat better than MIUI.
great phone, but not great os. MIUI sucks.
i got it the cn ver at around usd830 for 12/256. if i can get s21 ultra at this price, i definitely take s21 ultra.
