Thanks for the input.
How different is the camera?
Does mi9 get warmer than pocophone when surfing?
Is battery life much less than poco or is it somewhat comparable
I've sell my poco for a mi 9
Camera, performance and thermal are better. But compared to the poco the battery is really bad.

I would never switch to Mi A1 from Mi5. Especially if you want to have better battery - Mi A1 will perform just slightly better when it comes to battery life. You could wait for Redmi Note 5 - it will be a huge battery upgrade.
But, after all, what ROM are you using? If you battery performs so bad, maybe you should do a clean flash using MiFlash. New Global Stable was just released http://en.miui.com/thread-864621-1-1.html

Its better to use mi5 on battery power saving mode.
Never switch from high end to mid range when the phones age is less than 2years.
Thank you for the insights. I am using lineage os.
Maybe I could wait for the next redmi note.
There are many Hardware features where MI5 is still excellent as compared to A1. Snapdragon 820, Camera with OIS.
If you are switching to A1 for the camera and stock android. I would suggest installing Lineage OS along with some camera mods.

even though, what i said with battery mode enabled should be avaible for future RN5 too.
It will probably come with SD630 or 660 which is slower compared to a premium cpu like SD820.
After all is your call :good:
i would stay stick with the mi5. Tbh i don't like the metal build on the new xiaomi phones, the mi5 feels just so much better in hands. I would have said for the camera, but the google camera hdr+ port has solved most of the issues....Plus the performance of the mi5 really hasn't slowed down and i love the latest lineage builds, the mi5 arguably has a better display too.

Big thumbs up for the metal.build discussion.
Even though its metal.its more like a cheap one.

If you want to get the Mi 9 then just a direct spec comparison is enough without asking someone who's upgraded, you're gaining better screen protector, smaller notch, better SOC, better GPU, better camera, faster charging, wireless charging... No brainer imo
Good morning and thanks for the answers! Is the camera rly better without ois??

I'm assuming there might be a Mi 9s with ois and larger battery. The Mi 9 will have poor quality in low light photos
Got an Mi 8 blue 128 gb from Amazon WHD Like New for just 320 Euro. Wouldn't upgrade to the Mi 9 bc it is about 150 euro more expensive. Also a problem would be the missing OIS. Especially in Low Light situations. Nope, Mi 8 is still a great device. Btw: the Mi 9 is having a double higher SAR value which I personally care about a lot! 1,4 vs. 0,7.

From the FCC's website:
"ALL cell phones must meet the FCC’s RF exposure standard, which is set at a level well below that at which laboratory testing indicates, and medical and biological experts generally agree, adverse health effects could OCCUR."
Also, bigger OEM's such as Samsung also have devices with high SAR values, pretty sure the S10 or S10+ is 1.5
Finally bought a Xiaomi Mi 11 Blue 12G from JD

It's not as good as my Redmi K30 Pro on Pixel Experience, about 60~70% battery life.
The 2k screen with high refresh rate and the bad rom cost lot of battery. The 12.0.12 MIUI rom is not completedly ready for Mi 11, hope the next update will fix it.

PUBG is great, about 10% battery for 1 hr. I didn't turn on the ultra graphic and sound quality
It would bre great if someone can help me check competibility with this app:
Double Side Camera - Apps on Google Play
Let front camera & rear camera work together.
play.google.com
You should be able see the front and back camera at the same time.
After a month of use i would say :
I'm a new user of xiaomi phone, and i choose the mi 11. My last phone was a pixel 3xl and before samsung's phones.
The mi 11 is a powerful phone and a beautiful screen ... YES ! but :
The battery life is bad
Touch sensivity issues
The camera ... after my pixel 3
and the difference between regions for updates. I don't understand why china has already miui 12.5 update since more than two month and the others not....
I think it's my first xiaomi phone and the last !
I'm on xiaomi.eu 12.5. Everything is fine. Battery lasts me for a whole day of use.
What you mean by touch sensitivity issues?
Concerning battery life I was scared for first time but for now it's Good and really hope it will be better with MIUI 12.5

First of all, MIUI 12.5 in China only launches this month, so I'm not sure where you got the info.
Second, have you checked what's hogging your battery? I know the usual culprit is the screen with the settings maxed out (120Hz, WQHD+). But I have those settings selected and I can easily survive the day on a single full charge.
Circling back, the regional difference is due to the user's preference. In China, users don't use Google, use different frequencies and uses Beidou instead of GPS, hence the difference in ROMs.
I suggest you do your research before buying your phone.

I bought this phone for the 120 hz screen. If we must flash a phone and disable some fonctions for a decent battery life .... sorry but it's not a good deal. I hope miui 12.5 solve all my problems.

That title's funny.
Also, could you please elaborate the touch issues?
Well I have my mi11 now 2 weeks and have ~34 h of battery life. (Incl 2 h of mobile legends).
Had this time with global 12 and now with xiaomi.eu 12.5 rom
No problems.
My 'old' mi 6 was nearly empty after 2 h of legends.
The cam is really disappointing. Zooming before taking the foto makes too much noise. But I have for fotos a x-t3 and for snapshots it's enough.
Screen non responding is no issue on my device. The game mode, where you have to double click on the three navigation buttons was a thing in the first moments.

battery life is bad? you are getting a 120Hz WQHD+ screen with Mi 11 - your Pixel 3XL has a smaller screen of lower resolution and is only 60Hz
Also Mi 11 comes with the most powerful SOC on the market - snapdragon 888
Mi 11 is more powerful in every way and has a battery that last the whole day (at least for me) - no point in comparing it with an older phone
There are maybe 5-6 phones on the market that can last you more than 1 day of heavy use
btw MIUI 12.5 global stable launched today and I am just now downloading it
Xiaomi made the worst 888 powered smartphones in terms of battery consumption. Even the Mi 11 Ultra with 5000mah has a worse battery life than the OP9 Pro and Oppo Find X3 Pro with 4500mah... So, yes, battery life on Mi 11 compared to others is just awful.

Since i received miui 12.5 this morning, i've no more touch sensivity issue, battery life seems to be better. Let's see the next days, but i think this update solve my problems.
So i've been with x3 pro for a few months, overall great phone, good quality, but i've been missing some root on the phone and mi 11 was my first choice but went to oppo because mi 11 was out of stock, but now i receipt a proposal to trade x3 pro for mi 11, what you guys think, i've seen some benches, i think i can get good with mi 11, but need some outside opinion
i sold my x2 pro for the mi11. x2 pro had no root and too many software bugs. haven't looked back.

On the paper, X3 Pro is more Premium, more interesting (more RAM & Storage) and it was more expensive, we can compare more X3 Pro at a Mi 11 Ultra than a Mi 11.
BUT... in fact, X3 Finf is boring with ColorOS and absolutely no Root / Dev.
Mi 11 purpose MIUI Custom (Xiaomi.eu / MiuiMix / OneOS) and AOSP roms arrive (from LineageOS source/trees), so my advise is simple, if you want retrieve Root and are a AOPS addict, move on Mi 11.
Becareful, battery life is bad on MI 11, it has the worst battery life compared to others 888 powered smartphones

Having x3 pro does feel good, with a premium quality like you said, but the low customization regarding root and other stuff, is a key feature missing, i personally yould like it to have more development, because sometines i miss having some rooted stuff i had back at my mi 8, i would get an mi 11 ultra, but where i live its not yet available or dont send it here
