Hi Everyone,
Kies has updated my I9000 SGS to froyo from éclair and since then I haven’t had any access to either 2g/3G networks (except for a precious couple of hours). I bought the phone in the Netherlands and I am using it in Brazil, but this had not been an issue until the firmware update.
I have already hard-reset my SGS a few times , tried several froyo distributions and used several CSC with no avail.
Currently, my firmware is:
PDA: iI9000XXJPU
Phone: I9000XXJPU
CSC: I9000OXAJPU
Kernel:2.6.32.9 root sep-55 # 11
I’ve got signal (about -111dBm 1 asu), the phone has an imei, and it recognizes my SIM card, but as I said, it has no network connection.
After checking debug screen, I’ve also noticed the following info:
- Basic Information: No Service
- MM sate: NO_CELL
- CONN_STATE:Idle.
Anyone out there could help me out with this problem? I’ve really run out of ideas. Let me know if you people need more info on the current status of my SGS.
Cheers.
You probably need to enter the apn settings for your carrier
It has updated to Netherlands firmware modem and CSC they work in Brazil ??

I've tried several times, with different carriers (meaning different SIM cards). It hasn't worked.
Any other idea?

As I mentioned, the phone was working perfectly fine under Eclair. Moreover, oddly enought, my wife's, who owns a UK orange SCS, is working perfectly over here under froyo.
I am afraid of bricking my SGS by trying my wife's SGS firmaware on mine, since is Orange specific. Does anyone see any problem with that?
Probably Ok with orange . But is their not a Brazil thread on here that may have more clues .

Hi there,
I'm having an International P1000 that came unlockled with the following details.
PDA: P1000JVJM5
PHONE: P1000JXJM2
CSC: P1000OJVJM5
But every time I put in a sim card, it will reboot because it has detected a sim card. Then after starting up again it tells me that there is "No SIM card in device". I've tried it with 6 different sim cards, from different providers and even from a different country. All with the same result.
*#7465625# Tells me that all the locks are OFF.
Does anybody have any idea what could be the problem?
have u inserted the sim card fully and close off the simcard bay?
Or try shutting down completely and insert the sim card then power on?
If you have, sorry I have no Idea what could be wrong (hardware defect maybe?)
You would have to bring it back for warranty.
UNIQUE .. may you take ur tab to the samsung service center , maybe its hardware issue ..
can i ask u rude question based on how long you used the tab ( did u put the simcard correctly ? ? ? pls check .. another thing ,, if u bought the tab now , so u better go and replace it

Are you sure the tab is unlocked??
Try unlock it first.
That's my personal opinion.
Good luck

I seem to have an issue with the samsung captivate here in china.
I have a pilotx custom ROM installed, firmware 2.3.4 baseband version I9000XXJVT and samaphore kernel for the captivate.
this works very well in Israel, getting perfect reception and voice quality everywhere. however when i arrived in china i found out that my phone doesn't manage to connect to china mobile network (chinese SIM card is china mobile).
searching for networks i can see chn-cugsm, which is a china unicom network. if i put my SIM card i can sometime connect to the network as a roaming user but my battery only lasts for a few hours, seems like the phone is constantly busy trying to find a network.
when i try to install another modem using CWM it looks like its going well but when i reboot the phone baseband version remains the same XXJVT, i tried both i897 and i9000 modems but can't seem to change my modem, is it possible that the modem is installed but the version is displayed incorrectly?
second thing is - is anyone using china unicom and can tell me which modem works best for them? their website states their network is GSM 900/1800. the israeli provider is said to be using GSM 1800
Try using ODIN or Heimdall to flash the modem? Can't help on wich modem.
I installed JB on my phone from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1972961 and everything works, except one thing: 'Mobile network not available'. Then I used this code: *#272*MyIMEINumber# and there's no code for my country on the list. I'm from Croatia. I found that codes should be CRG, VIP, TWO, TRA or CRO. But none of these are on the list, and XSE is chosen.
Thanks all for help!
Is yoyr imei ok
Try manually selecting network operator
Yes, my IMEI is ok.
I can't access to mobile networks, there's a warning:
Insert SIM card
Insert SIM card to access network services
Try change to Euro zone CSC code ..
something like DBT, EUR or VIA
I have an unlocked s10e which I bought used in the UK
All is fine, but it keeps trying to connect to o2 wifi and there is no way to disable auto-reconnect nor can I forget the network(s), it's so annoying. There is no hint of o2 on the phone other than these pre-installed wifi networks,
edit: csc is OXM (saomc_sm g970f oxm btu pp 0016)
so what I want to know is, do I have an o2 rom on the phone and how can I tell? if I do, is there a UK rom that is not linked to a network and so wont have these pre-installed wifi networks?
thanks!
Should See three CSC codes below the csc you listed. First and Second are what you're on right now, third is the carrier it came from...
If the CSC is OXM, It is unlocked and can switch CSC's no problem. If wifi is Auto Connecting I would Factory Reset the device and flash the latest firmware available WITH THE NEW SIM INSTALLED... Should solve the problem.
That post was over 2 months old, I hope they figured it out by now. ?
