Thanks Pal. Yeah, 3K seems to be THE cheapest price i got after checking many Samsung Service centers at the moment but not sure how it can vary this drastically. Wondering if it would be original board. Anyway shall check again.
BTW, do we get these kinda motherboards in open market so we can fix it ourselves?
Thanks
Jei Kumar
Did you brick your device or something?
The samsung service center guys always say that you need to replace the motherboard to unbrick it. But actually, they just use jtag to fix your device! If you have warranty, you need not worry. But if you don't, then it is very difficult to get your phone fixed.
The last time I bricked my phone, they said the motherboard is 5000k.
Good luck!

Havent bricked yet but got water poured on it accidently. Its functioning all well but got problem with charging. The battery icon graphic shows the "charging" status even after unplugged. And much worse is the phone gets switched off in 15-20 mins though it was put on charge for hours together.
The warranty is over so had dis assembled every accessory from the motherboard and tried cleaning the board and power connector unit with spirit, axe/denim deodarant and what not.... no good so far...
Surpise is, the phone still works well while its on ... Love this phone

When checked the same service cemter today, they claim the price to be INR 4400
Had asked them if they can get me the board so i can fix it myself but it also seem to be not possible as they claim the board would be blank without any IMEI # and they had to update the board with my IMEI #
Seems like no other option now than to replace the board.
Thanks everyone.

Well with respect to indian currency, the motherboard is around 3k.
But i would advice you to take it to customer sare service.
They can handle this with more ease, and the price may be around the same as the latter.
Good luck.

Please let me know if you have any idea about ..where else i can get galaxy mini motherboard other them their service center's..
Well if you ask so.
Try the underground mobile shop , ask them for motherboard replacement.
I got my old cell phone fixed the same way in chandigarh sector 22-c
But still i would recommend go for simple and full proof service center repairs.
It might be the right time to pay a visit to one of them.
Good Luck.
Hi guys, I hope you can help me out here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, I originally purchased it in Malaysia, broke it and took it to Malaysian Samsung and had it replaced on the warranty. Fast forward 8 months later I am back in the UK, my phone is completely unmodified, original everything.
I place it on charge whilst I am using it in bed, I notice that it stops charging after a while of me using it, I assumed I must've knocked the cable, so I readjust it and carry on as normal until I put it on the side and go to sleep.
After waking up in the morning it becomes apparent that it didn't charge at all and the battery died in the night, I check the usb is still plugged into the phone and the plug socket, all a-okay. Strange. I then asked for my housemates charger, no luck still wouldn't charge.
A few days later a replacement battery arrives, also wouldn't charge. Must be the USB then surely? Well, I replaced that also, tested both batteries with it and still no luck.
Any idea guys? I'd hate to see an 8 month old phone die for no reason.
Thanks
P.S. I have tried it from a wall socket and my PC USB.
Maybe the USB port is busted? Was it hotter than normal when you last used it? Have you submerged it in water before the incident happen?

I have tried replacing the USB and it hasn't fixed it at all, and at no point has this one been submerged. I learned not to do that with the one that had to be replaced on warranty :/
Also all of the moisture indicators on the inside haven't been triggered, so it's not water damage.

Just to be clear, you have replaced the usb port and not the usb cable, right? Have you tried letting a Samsung rep look at it? I know that the warranty can't be claimed but you could ask them to just check on it. Ask for an approximate price to fix it, canvass other repair stores and search for the parts needed so you can do it yourself if you want.

Yeah I replaced the flex ribbon inside the phone itself. I was trying to get it sent into Samsung, but my Cyber Service Centre account stopped accepting my password and wouldn't accept any reset passwords, and Samsung stopped responding to my emails :/
I also emailed a British Samsung repair shop and they told me that they wouldn't look at it because it wasn't bought within the EU.

That's unfortunate. I can't think of anything else aside from it being a motherboard issue. If it is, it will cost a lot. If you can, try going to other repair centers around your area; you might find one who can hopefully help you. Best of luck.

Hi, after a week of use my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N9500 F/D 128GB Coral Blue runs out of battery overnight (wireless charging was not really charging) and I wasn't able to charge it again or wake it up. eBay seller was not helping and I'm not going to buy from them again (never-msrp) so I'm looking for a way to fix it in the USA, anyone have any suggestion on where to go for repair?
BTW, I called 1-800-SAMSUNG and they kindly suggest UBREAKIFIX as their point of service for International models in the USA but they refuse to get the work "Thanks for requesting a repair quote! We would love the opportunity to repair your Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but at this time we are unable to source parts for international Samsung phones. These phone have a model number that ends with F, such as, SM-955F for the Note 8. Please contact 1-800-SAMSUNG to inquire about where your device can be repaired".
Looking forward to your comments.
Regards.
Oh ****, I bought from that same exact vendor. Never letting my phone die...

Yes, but maybe not so many times, I'm going to try again with a little bit more of patience.
I heard from a repair guy that the failure is related to a power distribution chip in Note8 motherboard and the only fix possible is to replace that silicon.
Thats a shame. I got my N950F/DS from them and have went down to 0% and my phone is fine.

If you bought on eBay and/or paid via PayPal then you have 6 months buyer protection program. File a claim. It'll take a while, but you will get your money back.

Good for you, it seems that only a small batch of Note8 are affected.

Interesting, I didn't think in that option, since I've paid with PayPal I definitely will check that path. Thanks!
Are you sure it's legit Samsung and not some clone, or a refurb poorly repaired?
The stack charging is what I saw in Engadget also.
sadly my n960f-ds' charging port has gotten water damage and needs replacement. I went to update my recovery and rom today and my phone wasn't recognized by pc.. rip. i noticed on ifixit site they specifically sell a 'us/eu single sim charging assembly'. it made me wonder if there is a specifc charging assembly for the dual sim exynos note 9? this will be my first time doing a repair like this so i want to be sure i am doing it correctly and have the right parts. thank you for your time and help.
Locate the PN# on the pcb and use that to get the same replacement. The exynos one likely won't work!
