Comrades, BBS is showing a new partial wakelock app - it's called wake-and-unlock:wakelock...any idea what this is? Seriously, Samsung needs to get their act together...their software updates are anything but improvements over the previous versions...any help in getting the core of this wakelock?
Fellow members, I have feeling this wake lock is to do with the notifications delivery - I had "brief" option enabled in the notifications setting which I changed to "detailed" as a result the screen doesn't turn on but the wake lock seems to have gone for the moment...mind you, the phone is now stationary on the table...I'm yet to see if the movement sensors are triggering this wake lock...
Issue: Samsung Galaxy phones - notifications wake lock (screen turns on upon receiving notifications)
I've had this issue since I bought my s21+5g earlier this year. I research this often in search of a solution.
Samsung Members app - chat with rep, can't fully remember exact solution they provided... think it was adjusting a lockscreen setting, but that didn't work.
My solution: Using third party apps; using different UI launcher all together (which DID fix the issue). Microsoft Launcher worked the best for me.
Yesterday, I decided to go back to One UI (factory launcher). After only a few hours, I remembered why I changed it all those months ago.
This wasn't an issue on any of my previous Samsung Galaxy models S9+ or the S10+.
You'd think something so simple would be a long-time option within settings, right? Or am I alone in this??
Has anyone else found alt solution?
Interested to see if other Android phones have this issue or if it's exclusive to Samsung models.

Hey everyone,
On very rare occasions I get a screen glitch where I see part of one screen, and part of another. This has happened in 3rd party apps, and in Android Lollipop settings so far (when I was looking at developer options). Picture attached to this post because I can do outside links yet.
I can clear the glitch by locking the device with the power button and unlocking it again. The screen is otherwise unresponsive until I do this.
Has anybody else seen this? I'm currently rooted and using the no force encryption boot.img. Stock ROM.
EDIT: Trying to recreate the bug so far but I can't seem to. I even try going back/forward on apps while rotating.
EDIT 2: DPI is at stock 560.
I just received my n6 and experienced this too. Did you ever find a solution?
The half screen issue is a known issue with the GPU. Some of the devices that were manufactured up till January have had defective GPU's. Call moto and you may qualify for a RMA.
There's already a long thread regarding this issue
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm using Galaxy S6 Active in Korea
Of course, i unlocked, and updated to 5.1.1
(i used 5.0 just few days, i can't remember how long did it maintain)
Now my phone seems to treat the vibrate profile as silent.
text message vibrations is Okay(i'm using google messenger, not basic sms app, not google hangout)
But, Call notification,FB,Gmail....and so on, all of feature which has vibration noti feature do not work now.
Actually i already did device reset once. at that time, i could get vibration notification.
but few days later, back to present state.
i googled, and i got some people who were experienced like me.
but they said various opinions about this problem such as battery saving mode, 5.1.1 updating...etc.
plus no oned replied "i fix it!"
I constantly use the vibrate profile and this is very problematic not having the phone actually vibrate because I am missing notifications a lot now.
Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this?
plz give me your comment
I read, I think on Android central, that this occurs when power saving mode is on after updating to 5.1.1. This didn't happen on the previous software.
I'm really stumped here. I haven't been able to find any solution to this issue through searching, so I figure I might as well post something about it.
For the past few months, I've been having an issue with my watch screen turning itself on then dimming after a few seconds. This seems to occur every few minutes or so even when theater mode is enabled and when always on screen and wrist gestures are disabled. This issue persists even after unpairing with my LG G4 and after a factory reset (on both the watch and phone). It should also be worth noting that I have recently rolled my phone back from the latest VZW Marshmallow OTA to a rooted 5.1 image in an attempt to resolve the aforementioned problem, but from what I can tell, it has only become worse.
From what I've been able to gather from battery/wakelock monitoring apps and bug reports is that the phone is regularly sending wake requests at semi-regular intervals. I have not installed any third-party wear apps and I've disabled pretty much every Google sync function but the problem persists.
I am at wits end here as to what I can do here. This coupled with my phone suddenly developing a severe wakelock problem has made me seriously consider switching to another manufacturer, and this time I may not exclude Apple as a choice.
Has anyone else experienced an issue like this that might have some insight as to what's going on?
Thanks!
PS: If needed, I can provide the full bug report along with a quick spreadsheet I made to organize the kernel wake source info found in the report.
Got my moto g6 amazon exclusive model a few days ago. I started to notice while the phone was just sitting on my desk and gone to sleep / doze? my notifications were not coming through (around 5-10 mins after screen off). Any notifications within that time would be fine. After that if I had any new notifications, I would get them all in one go after I turned the screen on or moved my phone with moto display. (I turned off the motion sensor feature)
Just trying to get an understanding of whats going on. I have played around with some settings and currently seem to have got it back to normal by setting all my important apps (gmail/whatsapp/twitter...) to not be battery optimised. I also found some notification setting elsewhere that gave the default launcher permissions. I used nova launcher so I gave that permission too just in case, but I think the main fix was battery optimisation.
Just find it odd that I have never had to go into battery optimisation before on my previous phones (nexus 4, wileyfox swift) and notifications have come through fine after long periods of time in sleep mode.
Anyone able to suggest something else that may be causing this, or I could try. I wouldnt have noticed this problem if it wasnt for being at my PC and seeing new emails/fb messages coming in and not getting notification on my phone after the phone had gone into sleep.
-------------
As of typing this I recieved an email that also did not notify on my phone. Only when I picked up the phone I got it instantly. Battery optimisation for apps may not have worked.
Hi,
Could you solve this issue? If so, how?
Thanks.
I had the same issue a few weeks ago after playing around and disabling apps/services I didn't think i needed . I had to re-enable the "Moto" app, go into "Moto Display" and enable "Peek Dsiplay". That fixed notifications coming through the locked screen for me.
I've seen this problem all over the internet for quite a few years on many different models of phones and Android. I have it happening on both my 6P and Note 9, figured I'd post here since it's the newer device.
It's mainly happening with Greenify and App Volume Control Pro. I already did all the fixes I've found online, such as making sure the apps are not being optimized by battery optimization settings, and whitelisting them in any where else that might be causing them to be disabled. The only thing I've not done is lock the apps in the recent apps viewer from being closed when you tap close all because it shouldn't matter anyways, I don't leave them open (truthfully I rarely open the actual apps anyways). They don't need to be left open to do their things, that's what persistent notifications are for, to make sure they keep running in the background. Now that I notice though, Greenify does not have a persistent notification on the Note for some reason. I checked all settings, it's not blocked or hidden anywhere. IDK. And AVCP doesn't have one on either device, don't think it ever has for as long as I've been using it. Can only lock apps in the recent list on the Note anyways afaik. (But this issue isn't happening to anything else under accessibility access settings)
I don't use programs like CCleaner or anything, the only thing similar I have on the devices is Samsung's Device Maintenance app, but that obviously is only on the Note so I don't see how it's the cause since it's happening in the 6P as well.
Both phones are running Oreo 8.1. The only thing not stock is that I have elementalx and TWRP installed on the 6P, otherwise it's the stock ROM and whatnot, no root.
This problem happens what I will say is randomly, because it can happen after rebooting the phone or after waking it up. Whether that seems to be 10 minutes or 10 hours doesn't seem to matter. Checking my accessibility has just become habit. The way I first found this was happening was because AVCP makes a toast message when I open an app that I have it set to change the volume for, like a game. The messages were not popping up so I looked into things a bit more when it kept happening.
Anyone have any suggestions other than what's been said in the past?
Same Problem, my device : Vivo Nex S 8/128gb Android Oreo 8.1 no stock rom it has Funtouch OS and no solution for the Bug/Issue.
I donĀ“t know what keeps accessibility resetting several times a day. very annoying!
The knowledge in your article is very useful, thank you
