camera can't focus through store "scan price app" - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

I upgrade my note9 (which worked flawless with the app) to a s20 fe.
My problem is that i use a app everyday when i do my grocery shopping.
Go to the store, open the app, scan the price of your items, leave the store,,, no waiting in line to pay.
The problem is that the camera that comes with s20 cannot focus when scanning the barcode on the item through the app.
to make it work i have to open the camera app, go into macro set it to 2.0x, go back to the store app, and scan my item.
I have to do that with every item.
Any idears ?

have you tried turning on ''tracking auto focus'' in main camera settings ?

yes its always on.
But i have not tried to turn it off.

Recheck all settings and permissions.
Try holding it further back.
Clear system cache.
Clear cam, app caches and data if needed.
Try reloading the app.

If you can't resolve the issue try using a similar app.
Clearly it's not focusing.

if your camera works fine at this normally same as mine, it's the app itself that perhaps needs an update. I was able to photograph my fingers OK @ about 8 or 9 inches from the phone. the only other variable is the app.

I was thinking the same. The camera works fine by itself, its when i use the app, its out of focus.
i guess its the app that needs a update.

no you shouldn't, he's asking if something the app might utilise could have been disabled.
go to the play store and click on the reviews and filter them for ''my device'' or ''this device / phone''.
if it's the app you shouldn't be the only one with this complaint. if you are the only one as blackhawk suggested it should be something on your particular phone.
I might download it myself if you give it's exact name, I had a quick look but nothing that matches your screen shot showed up.

(WIP) Change DPI / Market Fix

After testing, I realized the fix is not working, and the apps I tried were available the whole time -.-
Going to continue to mess around and see what I can find.
In the mean time, any other app market will have a lot more apps readily available (Amazon Store, Samsung Apps, Etc.)
As you might have noticed, some .apk's don't display properly due to our tiny screen, causing certain things to cut off.
You've probably also noticed there are almost no Apps available in the Play Store due to the device compatibility check.
This means less sideloading
These issues pretty much go hand in hand since the Play Store also takes into consideration the device DPI.
Requirements:
A rooted Galaxy Gear
Bluetooth tethering configured

DPI Fix:
This app will essentially change the resolution on your gear, allowing a larger work space thus cutting less things off.
I've noticed this does effect device stability depending on the set DPI, 140 seems to work the best.
Currently the app is available for download directly from the Play Store with the Gear.

Resolution Change / DPI
Play Store Fix:
This app will basically spoof your device allowing you to download more apps from the Play Store.
Market Fix
Unfortunately, the "Activate" button is cut off, and we are unable to scroll.
We will temporarily need to change the DPI on the Gear to use the Market Fix (The activate button is cut-off on the current Resolution)
140 is the lowest the app will go, this was perfect, since it shows just enough of the button to click it.
After changing the DPI and rebooting, it should look a little like this
As you can see above, the button should now be visible.
Set all options to the device of your liking, then click activate.
Visit the Dashboard to update your device, and profit!
Hopefully soon we can bake these directly into a ROM, but for now, here you go.
Also, can I have anyone else confirm this method works for them?
Note:
I only tested a few apps in the Play Store that weren't previously available (Fruit Ninja/Cut The Rope)
But I'm hoping a lot more are available now.
I also did notice at time's it didn't work correctly, if it doesn't, try different settings.
If it still doesn't work, clearing the Play Store cache might help.

Zoe-recordings stopped working in gallery

Yesterday after a reboot some of my zoe-recordings stopped working in gallery-app.
Also the thumbnail is all gray.
They are still working in the "Photos"-app though... And when I should attach a photo in tapatalk via gallery-app.
I had the same issue a month ago or so.
Anyone else had this issue?

Haven't had that issue, but you could try clearing Data and Cache in the Gallery App
Settings -> Apps -> (scroll right to "All" Tab) look for "Gallery" and select clear data, clear cache
that should rebuild the thumbnails.

No it doesn't delete the real photos, only the gallery's database... Imagine you uninstalled the Gallery app, and it would delete your pictures... or a Music app and it would delete all your music.... then HTC / Google would be hearing even more complaints
I do it from time to time (usually when dirty-flashing ROMs), and haven't lost any pictures, and when I open the Gallery app, it just takes a bit longer the first time, as it has to rebuild the database.
I still havn't solved this problem. My videos seems to be broken now. I can't open them with any app, or on my computer.
Can this be because i uninstalled gallery-app once and reinstalled it from play, because i had a zoe-problem with ViperOne 6.0 rom?
I now use ViperOne 6.2 after a full wipe installation and i don't get this problems now with new recordnings, but my old recordnings are still broken as i said.
Anyone have clue how i can somehow fix my broken videos? Can i use some program on my computer like Vitrualdub or such?
Thanks!

OK Google detection options grayed out (sometimes)

On every rom I've tried so far, the OK Google voice command sometimes works from the lock screen, sometimes not. When I go to check the settings for voice control, the"Always on" and "Personal results" are grayed out and obviously I can't use OK Google from the lock screen. But then sometime later the options are back and no longer grayed out. It works when it wants to and I have no control over it.
Is this a known bug? Or is there some custom rom setting that's interfering with voice detection? Very strange.
I thought it depended on whether the device was charging or not

No it doesn't. The Nexus 6 has the always listening feature like the Moto X. It's just weird that's been broken on 3 different roms.

Anyone have an issue where the 1st time you initiate the okay Google command that it brings up an unsuccessful web search? I have to initiate it a second time and it works. If I uninstall the Google search update everything works fine. Only when I update it do I run into this issue.

Actually yes, I have done that. But it's only a temporary fix. I don't see why, after wiping my device 3 times, and it still keeps happening. When I switch roms, I make sure to do a complete wipe from twrp (factory reset, then advanced and hand select wipes except internal storage, then wipe cache and dalvik before reboot into new rom) I don't understand why 3 different roms have the same issue.
At this point, I'm so happy with Candy rom that I can overlook this issue, but it's just nice if everything would work as intended.

I was having similar issue some days back. Please go to settings>Apps and check if there is any application installed at the end of list with no name. Uninstall that one and see if that fixes your problem.
An app u recently installed.. Or visited.. It happened to me.. I l
Cleaned uo history in browser and went through apps
Solved
In my case it was a Call Recorder that I downloaded yesterday. I didn't like it so I uninstalled it about an hour later. However, it seems to have left one program behind, called Phone Services. I uninstalled it today and at the beginning of the uninstall, I got an error message that warned phone services was needed by call recorder. All was well after I uninstalled phone services. Thanks for all the inputs. I appreciate them.
Good you could find the culprit

I have helped people with this before and had a few of these on my note. First, diagnostics.
1. Hold down your power button to bring up your power menu.
2. Hold down on the Power Off icon and it will prompt you to restart your phone in safe mode. Do so and see if the problem goes away.
3-A. If it persists, then you may need to go to your samsung internet browser and clear out all website data.
3-B if the problem stops. Then its a 3rd party app and I would need more information to help you track it down. PM me with your results or questions.

How to deactivate bubbles notification on MIUI 12.5

I have finally got the last MIUI 12.5 update alongside Android 11. Everything was fine except the fact that I cannot remove the bubble notifications.
I have followed all the workaround online but it seems that MIUI rom is slight difference and I cannot find this option:

someone has fixed this?
Download activity launcher, search (with the search button) for notifications, then under the settings app entry, tap on notifications, it will open the settings page.
Xiaomi apparently forgot to enable the page in the settings. There are a couple more hidden settings as well, such as interpolated frames on videos and something with more vivid/hdr like recording of videos.

this is interesting: where can I check these video settings?
anyway I have managed to sort with the bubbles stuff: there is written "manage" under the bubble, so tiny that was impossible to spot. Anyway Xiaomi have to implement the settings because if some are hide then are useless

Just go through the settings app section, I don't remember which setting you need to open, plus I think it only works on the xiaomi video/gallery apps.

hold on, you are telling me to go to settings app section, but earlier you were mentioning to download activity launcher. Is this a third party app? I wouldn't install additional apps but, in case I have to, which app is? I cannot find on Play Store.
Whenever any notification comes, there is More option and.notifications from that app can be directly managed for future

I'm talking about activity launcher, go to the settings app section inside the activity launcher app and open all subsections one by one till you find it.
Here's the app.
ehi, anyway I think I sorted: there is a "manage" option under the bubble which is basically invisible but is there. once you click on that command you can remove bubbles and check other settings.
