Is there a way to do this on an unrooted phone? None of the RV-friendly navigation apps work natively in AA but Id really rather have them display on the trucks display than have to take my eyes off the road to look at the phone.

It seems like a lot of the tasker apps have more potential to build off gear motions than is currently utilised. Does it seem viable to record gear motions to set as triggers for different apps like tasker and atooma?

When i had the Gear and the Galaxy S4 (using Atooma app on both devices) i had assigned phone actions to watch movement triggers. It was very easy to do and did not require tasker, root or custom ROM. For example shaking the phone vertically enabled/disabled the 4G data connection.

I can do those simple ones with atooma, but its basically just vertical and horizontal shake. The stock wakeup gives the impression more complex motions can be mapped, like I'd like to set it up so that when I scratch my ear my phone fakes a phonecall.
When I install Android auto on my tablet, it appears just like it would on my phone. From my understanding, when one uses AA from a phone and is plugged into compatible HU, AA changes slightly to have the row of icons on the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to get this appearance from solely using on a tablet?
You can see what I mean in the picture attached.
I am looking for a solution as well. I have a a Joying Android Headunit and would like to run it standalone but with the same interface as a phone to a normal deck.
Hello boys and girls!
I'm planning to buy my first Android Auto capable head unit for my car.
Since I generally like to customize things, I was thinking that I could also customize a little bit the face of Android Auto, so here are my questions:
1. Can I somehow (i.e. through Tasker or its plugins) create an overlay on top of Android auto (that will appear on the head unit's screen)? I would like to add some extra information on top of Android Auto.
2. Are there any intents through which I could poke Android Auto (i.e. to switch directly to the navi screen upon starting Android Auto)?
Thanks!
Anybody? Any small detail?
I've recently had to say farewell to my Full Android Head Unit, because of a new car. I've always liked Android head units because of their high degree of configuratibility and freedom of choice.
My factory installed head unit supports AA, but the AA interface lacks any configuration. I really dislike the huge player controls when playing some music. This might not be such a problem in portrait mode, but in landscape mode they are ominous present.
Is there a way to minimize or to hide them and if not, at least a way to make them transparent? I'd really like to see the full album art when a song is playing instead of a big control overlay.
I know this was asked for like a million times but why is it not a thing?
Example: I have a car stereo that uses some app to stream my display to itself, and the current aspect ratio just looks bad
I know it's possible because of the smart view settings but why can't the user control it?
A Bixby routine to change the aspect along with opening the app for entering the car would be a lifesaver
