I bought a new charging port from dragon tt and when I connect battery it starts overheating no mater if device is on or turned off, this part is so hot you can't put finger on it, does anyone know why that happens?

I have a strange issue with my Note 5 (SM-920G). This has come after the marshmallow update. The phone won't detect charging cable when switched on. When off, it won't show the charging bolt and battery screens but if i leave it for a few hours and then turn on the phone it will show 30% or more battery charge. Anybody else faced similar issue ?
The phone is stock and ran out of battery while i was listening to music on Soundcloud app.
If there was a problem with the charging socket then it shouldn't be showing 30% charge after few hours. Is this a known software issue ?
Gutted as its only 6 months old phone with no damage at all.
Things that i have already tried.
* Swapping wall socket
* Swapping with different cable and charger - Have verified that the stock charger and cable are also working
* Connecting to PC via a cable - still no bolt signs and no pop ups in win 10 pro when switched on( It's a ninja, enit ?)
* Taking out the s - pen and then charging( don't ask why )
* Clearing the cache
The phone is not bricked as it does boots up. The socket may or may not be gone as after leaving it plugged in for few hours it charges. It shows no indication of charging during that time though.
Is there any android event detection service that i can force stop or reset ?
Well...to my surprise. the phone has today come back from dead just before i was leaving to give it to the service centre.
I will be calling it Jon Snow from now on.
Btw this proves it is a software bug and a pretty scary one. It took more than a day for mine to come back with multiple attempts of charging. This is pretty serious. I hope we have a patch soon.
Note5 SM-N920G not charging, but being detected in Odin mode
I have the same model Note5 SM-N920G and when I conect it to the PC or the charger nothing happens. Putting the phone on Odin mode it is detected by the PC.
It updates itself yesterday to Android 6.01.
My Note 5 is new, it has just 2 weeks of use and was working pretty good until now.
Now I've put it to charge and I'll let it to charge for some hours and see if it get some charge.
After for about 4 hours I power the phone on and as a 'miracle' battery is at 21%.
This is just crazy, same symptoms as lwk Note 5.
I hope mine could be a Jon Snow too!
Hi
I just got a Note 5 and a fast Samsung fast wireless charger stand. Everything looks good except for the fact that the phone gets quite warm after 100% (when the light turns green). The highest temperature it has hit is 43 C. Normally it would hover around 41-42 C. This means that the phone battery would be subjected to such heat around 4 hours every night. Should I worry about this? I live in Singapore.
Thank you.
please share info about your phone :
stock or custom rom (which?)
did u install battery app??
do u have this problem when connect usb cable directly to your phone (fast charge )?
if in your note 5 put on case or other things put it off and test
note 5 will be warm in fast charge until 90 % (not 100% - it's problem)
i suggest if it possible work turn off fast charge when put your phone in charge in night
or reset your phone and test again.

Stock ROM. Marshmallow 6.0.1.
No battery app. Fast charge via cable works awesomely.
It still gets warm even without the case. I tried resetting my phone, and it's ok. It's the same for normal wireless charging.
So 42 degree Celsius is bad?
Anyway with my new case I need to enable daydream to make sure that the wireless charging doesn't stop after the screen turns off. I set my daydream picture as a solid plain black picture. So by right this shouldn't cause any damage to the screen right? Only the screen touch sensors are working overnight.
My stock 64 gb N920T on MM routinely gets to ~37.5 C (99.5 F) while using the OEM charger with fast charging turned off. It's gotten as high as 39.5 C (103.1 F), which was the first time I took readings using the GSAM Battery Monitor Pro app.
I wouldn't be surprised if the wireless fast charger pushes the temps past 43 C (109.4 F).
Hi everyone,
I'm really hoping someone can help me.
I have a Samsung galaxy tab s2 8inch. It is the SM-T710.
It was working fine playing music on a Bluetooth speaker system then the battery died.
Tried to charge it and it was acting funny, said it was charging then got to one or two percent and i attempted to power on while the device is on charge and it powered on then turned off within a few seconds.
Let the tablet charge for a while now and its not really going up and the screen has gone off and its not turning on and i now notice its getting really hot at the bottom part of the screen slightly above the home button.
Removed the charger and left it for one hour, then came back and tried with a different new genuine Samsung charger and cable, and still getting extremely hot within a few 5 - 10 seconds just above the home button.
Unplugged it and left it till the next day and attempted to charge it again same thing.
I though it could be either: A faulty battery or A faulty Micro USB charging port flex (possibly short circuiting).
Now Ive opened up the whole device and taken apart every item on the mother board following a tear down video on YouTube.
I then connected a brand new genuine battery to the board and removed the old one, and the device was still overheating however this time i could pin point the exact source of heat on the motherboard which i will circle on an image but cant attach to this post as i need ten posts.
The images are on my public google drive but i cannot share the links here any ideas?
I then thought the micro USB charging port flex is causing a short circuit and so i completely disconnected that and the overheating problem still occurred.
Then i disconnected each and every component one by one and still the same thing on the motherboard keeps overheating excessively within seconds of connecting the battery to the motherboard.
Now Ive completely removed the motherboard from the frame and Ive connected the battery to it and same overheating issue.
Now Ive reconnected just the micro USB charging port back to the motherboard and attempted to plug a charging cable into the port and exactly the same thing still overheating excessively.
I really do not want to replace my motherboard simply because of the data on the device etc.
Can someone please tell me what the red circled item is in my image so i know what is overheating!
Could it be the CPU?
Is there ANY other way to replace JUST that part, even in china? Can anyone advise or help me?
Many thanks to the people who patiently read this and helped.

I guess the motherboard got corrupted
First off, do not boot up an almost empty device. Second, it is entirely normal that the bottom area (charging port, home button etc) gets hot while charging. It will fade after the battery got some essential energy. Third, do not deplete the battery completely, if possible. In the long run it may damage the longevity of the battery.
Was there ever a solution to this issue? I'm having the same problem.
Hi all,
i bought a redmi4a 7 months ago. At previous day when the charge level was low. i plugged charge machine and it doesn't charge it. when i reset phone it will. After that the charge level reach %25 it stopped and not charged anymore. After that battery level reach 0 it shut down. The situation comes after that.
i plugged it on my pc it switch on and did not took charge. Level was stuck %0. A few moments after it shut down. After that i tried with 3 different adapter to charge. it not switch on. There are a red button on home screen and just blinking 3times. whenever i tried to open it it blinked 3 times and don't switch on. What is your ideas about that?
i guess battery must changed, however not to sure problem. Maybe charging socket must changed. Did you face it an issue like that? (plus it did not brick, computer did not recognize the device)
Thanks for helping and i am really looking forward your answers.
Thanks.
Probably is the charging port that is broken or the battery connector is badly connected
Hello, While charging my pixel 5 using the official charger, the charge connects and disconnects over and over, probably half second gaps in between.
This happens when device reaches 47% and if the environment is dark ,but when I turn on room light ,this does not happen. It happened during my first charge cycle and second one.
I've done as many debugging steps as I can, and I am certain this is a bug.
Root issue: charger connects and disconnects over and over.
Can someone confirm if anyone is facing the same issue and if it's a software thing?
I haven't noticed this. That would drive me crazy, try a different wire maybe
That kind of behaviour is normally a dodgy charging port.
I've encountered this, but only with my 5 port Aukey charger that does not support PD on its USB-C port and it happens once battery is charged over 10%. Someone on Reddit also had this only with 5 port charger without PD support.
Issue does not happen on official charger from the box for me.
same here, dark environment screen on off looping
really annoying
I switched to airplane mode, did not happen again, weird.
Hello All,
Update on the original issue:
Tried to replicate the same issue in bright environment today, below is the behaviour:
1. Connected the device to charger when the battery percent is at 16%.
2. I did not notice any issue until the device is charged up to 60%. After that the charge connects and disconnects over and over for 4 times with 45 seconds to 1.5 minutes time interval. After that it's all good.
I think the fix that Google has pushed for battery percent issue is causing this.
Any thoughts?

I have not noticed this on my pixel, I would call up Google tell them that you want to return the phone and make sure they don't charge a restocking fee. Tell them that you've been really inconvenienced by this and that you do not want to be charged the restocking fee, Then rebuy the phone again. That's the only way you'll guarantee the phone will be new.
If my phone was doing that I would be heated
