ASUS ROG Phone 3 Issues - ASUS ROG Phone 3 Questions & Answers

Hello All,
I am a 'Non Developer' user and its my first post on forum, so please pardon my ignorance whatsoever.
I am using an ROG P3 Tencent edition (I003DD) running Android 10 Build QKQ1.200419.002.WW_Phone-17.0823.2008.78. Over last few weeks, I am facing several issues which I will try to explain below.
1. Bluetooth: When connecting a bluetooth headset, the device connects successfully, but gets no sound. Disconnecting and reconnecting, even removing and re-adding the device doesn't help. Strangely, on connecting a device, there is a few seconds lag/ freeze before I can play a video on youtube, no sound still. Restarting the device solves the issue for the moment, but the issue remains when I reconnect after a few hours.
2. Settings keeps stopping: I am using Whatsapp Twin Apps. When trying to link a Whatsapp web device on my secondary whatsapp App, I am unable to go past 'Link a device' icon and after a few taps, get 'Settings keeps stopping' error.
I haven't faced this exact error on other apps, but have had few other apps crashing too recently in a random fashion.
3. Fingerprint: It takes several attempts to unlock the screen using fingerprint. That's despite using clean fingers screen.
I have already tried resetting/ wipe the device through Settings but that didn't fix the problem. There are no Updates available in System Update.
Questions:
1. Has anyone else faced similar issues ? If so, were you able to fix it?
2. WIll retting the phone through Bios make any difference than resetting through setting (which I already did).
3. Since the phone is originally a Chinese version and it came pre-installed with Global OS, will Bios reset put it back into Chinese?
4. Should I update to 17.0823.2102.143 manually?

WiFi Issues with Android version > 2.3.3

Hey everyone,
I'm having some issues with any ROM using android 2.3.4 or 2.3.5
so far I've tested it with CyanogenMod7 and MIUI 1.8.18 & 1.8.19
The issue is that, regardless of my settings, my phone is being a stubborn ***** and decides to kill my wifi-connection whenever I lock my screen. I don't get any notifications for email or whatsapp whatsoever until I wake my phone. Getting called and textmessages do still function normally.
(If it is of any help, the radio version I use is in my signature.)
Wifi sleeping policy is set to never,
Regulatory domain (wtf is that?) set to 13 channels. (Default.)
Backround sync & Auto sync are turned on.

I have fixed the problem with my wifi dying when my screen locks,
I have tested this by playing songs over the network with my phone sleeping (Didn't use to work, now it does.)
However, I have encountered a new issue. My WhatsApp Messenger doesn't seem to connect at all!
Won't send any messages, won't update groups etc.
I have tried re-installing it several times.
Any ideas?
did you try full wipe, or connect to other wifi access point?
I'm trying a full wipe and reflash now, thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to another wifi access point so I can't try that.

Done reflashing after a full wipe -- It seems to have fixed my problem!
Thanks for the help.

New issue, I'll explain in top post.

[Q] Few issues for which I need help

Hi all,
I have been using my galaxy note n7000 for an year now. From last couple of weeks I have these following issues with my phone
Whenever I go to a roaming area, my screen flashes with a message "Refreshing SIM Data" and immediately I lose the HSPA connection. This message keeps popping up on my screen as long as I am in that roaming area. I have another phone (HTC) and it doesnt happen like that in that phone
Now this one is very scary, Sometimes when I am connected to 3g/hspa my screen flickers with bright horizontal bars and immediately loses the whole network (no net, no calls). And after a few seconds phone automatically restores the connection and everything is fine again. But may be after half a minute this happens again and phone gets switched off. When I switch on the phone again, it would have lost all battery and I am greeted with a low battery message. Wierd part is that if I charge my phone it shows the current battery level again. This thing happens probably twice or thrice a day.
third one is also weird, I can browse internet, download apps from play store, unconditionally. But if I try to update an app then things wont happen and I will get a message saying that app could not be downloaded due to an error 495. I did find this as a known issue in play store but in my case some apps get updates successfully but only some would not.
I have searched for this in whole of XDA Forums, but none of them worked. I tried clearing caches of play store etc. I even installed 2 to 3 rooted roms (both ICS and JB) but no luck. Now I am back on stock ROM but issues still persist. I also contacted network provider (Vodafone India) they seem console me by telling me that everything is fine from their end !!
Story end
2 seems to happen due to an issue with battery. Try a different battery
3. for error 495.. if you are rooted and have cwm.. then boot into recovery and do a wipe dalvik cache and try again. it usually works after that,
1. no idea about this.. i dont get any such messages.
thanks !
2. Yes, I will do so
3.I tried all these, infact wiped everything more than twice
1.
First got to applications then select plays store and clear data. Then do the same for play services. Try. If still no go the wipe dalvikcache from recovery and it works. I get this error every now and then,
I think you are running an old firmware, is that correct?
In general go to service centre and warrantee.
If you dont mind warrantee, root, make efs backup on and off the phone and pcodin a newer firmware.
If wipe and such, do only on safe kernel.
1 - I have not see that so cant help - Sorry.
2 - A lot of us are now having that problem .. and it is not particular to any ROM .. it is happening with all ICS and JB ROMS's and started only 2 - 3 weeks earlier for phones purchased more than a year ago.. am also looking for a solution on this.
3 - I have not see that so cant help - Sorry.
AW: [Q] Few issues for which I need help
1. Have you tried selecting the network manually when you are in a roaming area?
2. That's a battery issue. Maybe the battery is a bit weak and does not provide enough voltage when nearly empty. I also recommend trying another battery.
3. No clue, sorry.
Sent from my revived Galaxy Note
hi all, thanks for your replies.
I have managed to get rid of /find out the cause of these issues,
1. This is a network specific issue and was not related to phone. It has something to do with our roaming settings in network provider. !! I called them up and spoke to their technical team, so I am expecting some resolution soon
2. Bought a new battery -- problem solved (thanks guys!)
3. This is also a network related issue. ISP was blocking certain web requests !!. I changed my sim to other network and my google play just works fine. Reported to Vodafone.

Wifi password forgets at random or when radio is switched off.

I just got a note 5 from my local carrier(GCI) and Im having a weird issue where if I turn my wifi radio off then I have to re-enter my wifi passwords, sometimes it will happen at random.
Does any know of a fix for this? I tried doing a factory reset, running in safe mode, using the phone without signing into anything but nothing seemed to have worked.
So I was able to rule out any third party software and my google backup reseting the wifi data to blank.
I went and asked them about it and they told there isn't much they could do other then to get a different phone because if I get another note 5 then I will most likely have the same problem because they had someone else complain about it.
My assumption is the problem is software, the rom is by a company by fastbootmobile at least that is what the update page shows.
My next step to fix this was to root and install a custom rom but I want to be sure the problem is software and not hardware.

Strange problem with wifi and mobile data (internet connectivity in general)

Hi
I have a Galaxy note 5 and there's a strange problem with it after upgrading to android 6.
The problem is with network connectivity of applications which go to background. For example with "whatsapp" application, when I am voice calling someone else, as long as the call activity is in the foreground (I see the call screen on the phone) everything is fine. But as soon as I press the home button, The app will loose connection and the call just fails (says "Reconnectiong" but will never connect). The other example is with "Skype" with the exact same problem. Other example is the system's download manager. When any application (better to say activity) requests for a file to be downloaded using the built in download manager, as long as the app (activity) stays in foreground, the download will continue but as soon as I leave the application, the download will disappear as if the connection has been lost. The strangest part that I found out about is that When I connect my phone to charger or a pc, these problems will resolve.
Any ideas about the problem and its solution?
(ps: I tried resetting the phone to factory settings, flashing it, and rebooting the phone like a thousand times.but none of them worked)
thanks in advance
anybody?

Help! Redmi Note 9 problems after upgrade to 13.0.1

I upgraded to Miui 13.0.1 Global version.
I have been having a lot of problems after the upgrade- the whole phone is buggy and hang a lot of times. Some apps such as Spotify just stopped every now and then. On top of that I have the following specific issues, which I hope someone is able to help:
1) ringtone notifications on all apps- whatsapp, gmail, message ect totally gone, inoperative. The same for both pre-loaded and custom ringtones. I have changed the ringtones in the hope that this will "activate" them but to no avail.
2) when connected to a pc-connected cable, there is a options at status bar to select between charging or files transfers. The default is charging despite having defaulted to "file transfer" under USB default of USB debugging (in developer mode).
Help will be appreciated. Otherwise I will downgrade the version since no notifications basically renders the phone useless (dont even know when people calls).
Thanks
