Question Change CSC from LUX to DBT - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Can I change my CSC from LUX to DBT by flashing the DBT firmware (minus the HOME_CSC, so i keep my data) ?
I've just ordered credits from Sammkey but I'm wondering what that is even needed if a flash via Odin will also do the trick. I want to switch because I still don't have the update yet.

Download the DBT firmware and flash with Odin. Make sure you select Home CSC. This will put you on the latest firmware but keep data and CSC intact. It's what I did, my CSC is VOD which is Vodafone UK but I'm now on AUE1. Vodafone UK aren't even on AUDA yet.
Make sure you clear cache after installing from the recovery menu.
In short, if all you want is the update you don't need to change your CSC.

Oh alright. So if I just flash the DBT firmware but with the home-csc checked, then I should be on the update? I'm currently on AUC8. I assume I have to flash the AUC8 version of DBT, right? And then I assume I'll have the OTA to update to AUDA and thereafter AUE1, right?

No. Just download and run Frija, put the device in as SM-G998B and the CSC as DBT and tick auto. Press the Check Update button then, when it shows the latest firmware, press the Download button. Once downloaded (around 7.5gb) you unzip the file and flash the parts in download mode with Odin, making sure Home CSC is selected as the CSC file. Once installed, go back to the Recovery menu and format the cache partition. Boot the phone and you're on AUE1 with your current CSC.

What if I don't put a SIM card in while starting? I have LUX csc but my phone is unlocked. I bought it from a store, not the carrier.
So are you saying if I flash DBT AUE1 it's not gonna work?

If you follow what I said, it will work. You will remain on LUX CSC and be on the AUE1 firmware in the same way I'm now on AUE1 but retained my VOD CSC.
Up to you though, if you're not comfortable flashing with Odin it's something you maybe best avoid and wait for the OTA.

For more detailed instructions for Odin and flashing this, please follow the post https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...axy-s21-ultra-sm-g998b.4218529/#post-84296141
It was written or an older firmware, but is still accurate for this.

Was able to get the update! I flashed the DBT f/w over my LUX f/w. I kept HOME CSC so data is still there. And now it says May 1st update!

Nice one.
As indicated, make sure you format the cache partition from the recovery menu.

Where did he claim his CSC was DBT?
His initial question was asking about changing his CSC to DBT so he can get the latest update. I pointed out he didn't need to change the CSC for that and provided guidance on how to update to the latest firmware, keep his data, and stay on LUX CSC which he has now done.
I think you may have misread the thread.

he didnt : from his first post ask for changing his csc from lux to dbt , flashing full firmware in multi oxm NOT CHANGE CSC .
iam trying let him be sure that he didnt change his csc .
he bought credit from samkey , than he can change his csc to DBT .
his question was if flash odin do the same trick as samkey , and answer is nope .
he updated yes , but not change csc by flashing odin way.
that what i was make it clear for him.
sorry , didnt misread the thread.

Hey both,
Thank you both for the clarifications. Indeed initially my plan was to change from LUX to DBT. And I purchased 5eur worth of credits of SAMMKEY.
However, as pointed out by @Beefheart ; the reason I wanted to change was to get the update! And now that I have it, I don't see why I should change my CSC.
Unless of course someone mentions why I should? Some extra benefits? I live in Belgium and have an unlocked S21 Ultra. With LUX CSC, I get VoLTE and Wifi-Calling -- carrier dependent features and also eSIM. Will I get the same on DBT?
Also, will I get DBT OTAs in the future or everytime there's an OTA, I need to flash via ODIN again (so repeat what I did) ?

You will get updates when LUX gets updates. You can keep updating manually like you did just then. I do not know of there is any downside to always writing 7GB instead of 1 GB or whatever the size of the update is. If you already have the Samkey credits, why not use them? I went from VD2 to DBT in a few seconds...

Oh right! Great. I shall do that. Although with Samkey, would I need to wipe data? If so, I'd rather not.

[solved] Is this Odin setup correct to flash JVO?

Hello,
1) if I wanted to flash to JVO with Odin, is the setup in the attached pic correct (especially the files on PDA, PHONE, CSC and repartition ticked)?
2) Wasn't there a bootloader I needed to flash? I think I read somewhere the bootloader changed with GB.

1)Yup
2)The bootloaders are included in the file you have ( See where it says sbl in the file name of the PDA )
Yeah saw that SBL and that made me suspicious whether that file really should go into the PDA slot and leave the bootloader slot blank.

Yes.
You are using a pit file so you need repartition ticked.
Thanks a lot for the quick help!

no don't repartition unless you want to in which case you need ONE EXTRA FILE: 512.pit!! You sound like a newbie so depending where you are coming from -stock firmware-wise, by all means repartition but you must obtain the 512.pit that you add to odin and flash with the rest of the rom. WARNING: this will wipe all your data and apps and repartition your phone including the sd card. make sure that you remove any external SD cards if you have one and the SIM card too...for peace of mind
UPDATE: oops! England has beaten Algeria...in cyberworldcup
I'd consider myself as noob, yep.
I thought I have to repartition when upgrading from JPY (2.2.1) to JVO? I don't know when this has to be done. Just saw the PIT file recommended for JVO on samfirmware and somehow assumed I have to repartition.
So what should I do, what's the difference if I do or not do it?
I backed up all data and wiped the phone before so there's not much on it right now (and no lagfix or so used, just stock rom with CF kernel).

if you're sure that you used the same pit file as before i.e; 512.pit then you don't have to repartition at all.....if in doubt then repartition. BTW which pit file did you see on samfirmware.com? Should I assume that this is your first rom flashing from stock JPY? Also, make sure that you use the JVO rom that includes GB bootloaders.
Before? I never flashed a full ROM via Odin, only kernel (CF), thus I never re-partitioned myself.
Until now I used KIES always to flash ROMs.
If re-partitioning works like on a HDD I guess then this can be skipped unless something changed partition wise from Froyo to GB?
So do I need to re-partition at all?
Hey guys, gonna steal the end of this thread.
Currently I am on 2.2:
PDA: JPA / PHONE: JPP / CSC:JP7 (MET)
I want to use ODIN to upgrade to STOCK 2.2.1 and for it to change the CSC to XEU so that 2.3.3 (and future updates) will be done through kies automatically.
Can somebody confirm how I do this? Which file do i need to d/l - all three? And do I (and why) need to repartition?
Thanks in advance

If you used Kies anyway, why not use it now to update to 2.2.1? Afaik you can change the CSC with market apps (think I read that somewhere but someone may want to confirm this). Anyways, you could just stick with your normal CSC as GB will be released to the rest of Europe anyway.
Currently, it's uncertain whether there will be more updates after GB afaik.
But yes, our question remains: do we have to re-partition at all if we only used Kies so far to update ROMs?

Official Samsung GB for UK has already rolled out, it's called XXJVO and believe me once you've done your first ODIN rom flashing you will never stop flashing other..(custom roms and kernels) if there're any geeky tendencies inside you and just waiting to be released... see this thread and all your fears will be assuaged!

Thanks! There it says:
"Note: Re-partition is not a must, use it only if you need to change partition sizes on the device, but in most cases you will not need to repartition at all." question answered.
@Unregistered: you could use I9000XXJPY from samfirmware, JPY was the one that was offered to me by Kies back then (German unbranded SGS). But someone may want to confirm this to you first, as I see lots of others 2.2.1 ROMs there and not sure what the difference is. Samfirmware offers a single file and once extracted you should have 3 files.
I just wonder why the 2.2.1 ROM files do not show on that website which CSC is used, maybe it's universal or something?
Well, I guess Widget21 has a point here. If you are willing to flash now with Odin, you might be willing to do it with GB too, then the CSC won't matter (it doesn't matter much anyway as I learned).
Just be sure your 3 button combo is working and that you connect with direct USB.

JVO has multiCSC and UK's xeu is included in it so no need to worry about changing CSCs...remember the 'Thanks' button is there for a reason
@Unregistered: yeah, sorry, that's what I meant. If you wanna flash GB in the future you might want to do it with Odin and then the CSC shouldn't matter anymore.
For some reason, I'm unable to find out the CSC on the file and it's not listed. The JPY I downloaded from samfirmware recently has DBT as CSC (Germany). If you download the JPX file and extract it the CSC file might tell which region it is (as in my case).
@Widget21: I used my thanks feature up for today (5 max). I'll try tomorrow again.
I just downloaded this:

[Guide] Changing CSC Galaxy Tab 10.1

Hi guy,
till Apple fights against Samsung the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is not longer availe in Germany. We can oder EU-models but the CSC and region code isn't "DBT" to get right special apps.
So I started to solve the problem by myself. Lot's of result bei google doesn't work for me, so here are the steps I do to get right product code (also shown in KIES )
Before anything, I hope you have an /efs folder backup.
1) Root your device (how-to you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185 thanks djR3Z)
2) Download your CSC you would like to have from this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163 thanks bloodrider)
3) Install RootExplorer from market to copy the CSC to /system/csc
4) Download TerminalEmulator from the market and install
5) Start TerminalEmulator and use the code from bloodrider (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163)
6) At this point you will get a list of all CSC also the one you added before. After that system will reboot an install.
7) After reboot connect you tablet to KIES an show which product code Kies get
Next step for me I flash an older firmware connected to KIES again an update to new version without get lost the new region code.
Do everything on your own risk, for me it works great.
You could also just download CSC Changer for Galaxy S from the Market.
Two clicks and you're done.
If the CSC is already there that could also be a solution, otherwise not
Use US bought Galaxy Tab in Germany
I have another question (sorry if this has been addressed somewhere already):
- A friend wants me to bring him the US WIFI version to Germany. In case of a warranty issue is it covered or is the are Samsung Europe group that would support it (cause its not sold in Germany?)
thanks a lot
Anyone with a nordic galaxy tab 10.1 3g from Telia that can tell me their original CSC? I can't seem to find the right on for that.

That is true but do you know what the CSC actually includes?
I don't think using the CSC from a different device is a good idea.
1. You would change the CSC Version to "I9000OXAJM1".
2. You would flash a different SW_configuration.xml
3. You would flash a different others.xml
Doesnt seem to work either. I still get "this blah blah blah" in kies.
XEE for nordic countries and KG7 version (I know the local on in the stores had this)
Figured it out. To get stock on your nordic GT7500 from Telia do:
1. Get the KG9 firmware from samfirmware.com
2. Flash it
3. Down load the scs switcher from the market, just do a search for samsung scs. Or click
4. Change CSC to NSE
5. Done - you can update to KI1 over kies.

Maybe someone else would like to know the answer my question, Did you still have root and CWM after flashing stock rom, and isent the local SCS nee for denmark ?
Thought I answered it?
Anyway, yes you'll lose root, but it takes 1 min to get it back. After kies is done. Go into download mode and flash clockwork recovery from Odin. Then just push root from there, works like a charm. You can find the root flash thread somewhere in this forum. Pm if you need morehelp then that.
About csc, I thought NEE was Danish as well, but Kies refuses to accept that csc. You'll get some Swedish bloat ware after flashing. Easily removed by root explorer or titanium backup.

The changing of CSC is only temporary because after flashing a new firmware, maybe from europe, you will get the original CSC from the image

Is it possible to change my CSC code on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G from NSE to NEE?
I would like to get the nordic firmware for my tab rather than the Telia one, because Telia has a lot of stupid programs with the firmware I can't use, or would like to use.
Thanks for the guide. I can't find the CSC for Hong Kong, anyone know?

Yes, you can. But you'll need Root and the CSC application from the market. If that fails, just follow what I did on the main page and pick NEE afterwards, then it should update to 3.2 OTA.

What exactly I did is, I have replaced Modem with my regional ROM.

Kernel XXLA4 (CF Root)
Now after this i have flash only modem part with Mobile odin pro, n i have select modem of my reional ROM
Now I have

Now i have no issue
cool.....
so is it the same method as this guys in the last post?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405932
please guide me how you select and which file.
No, changing CSC is different.
Actually if you are flashing ROM of your home region then i dont think, yu need this.
In my case i was using non regional Modem, thats why i have flashed only modem of my home stock ROM.
Hi,
I intend to flash to RocketRom again and use your method to flash to my home stock modem.
So which file and input should i select?
You can use same tar file of your Home Stock ROM.
Download n extract your home stock file n put in SD card.
open mobile odin - select - modem - point to your stock Home tar file - n flash.
It will flash only modem.
Input your result, may be helpful to others

@dr.ketan I have EXACTLY same problem. It happens in 5% to 10% percent calls, and so is why I have been rather ignoring it, although was always sure its not network related (I am based in Gujarat (ahmedabad), and am on Vodafone network).
In fact I have had this issue when I bought my first galaxy note in Nov, that had KL1 and I believe I used to have it over 40% to 50% and I noticed it improved after I got an OTA update to KL3, but still had this issue of calls getting silent, for more than% 15 to 20% times.
This month I changed my galaxy note for a white one, and the new device came with KL3 pre-installed. and I used to have almost negligible issues of silent calls.
Last week I flashed LA4 (Germany), {in fact I believe u will recall I discussed this with you}, and I notice after the update I am encountering this silent call issue for 5% to 10% times.
I am not yet rooted on this new LA4, so does it mean to flash the radio alone, I should root, which apparently would mean I will have to downgrade to stock KL3, root, reflash stock LA4 using mobile odin. I was hesitating to downgrade to stock KL3 because I guess its a WIPE version and I don't want to loose my few important settings. So, is there a way to flash the suggested RADIO without rooting my existing LA4?

If you are not rooted then also u can do it. You can extract 1level deep that indial kl3 rom n you will get modem file. Then flash only modem with pc odin.
Another better thing is just get downgrade to kl3, it is non wipe, so will get chance to root your device too. Then after root, you can update to la4 with mobile odin pro, here you hve to just keep modem part blanl, n everroot enabled. So your pda only get updated, not modem. Then u can get cf root kernel la4 too.

Wow. Thanks for the prompt response!! (its almost 3am IST- when do u sleep, if u are still awake at this hour my friend !!!))
I am glad to know that KL3 is non-wipe, so I will now prefer to downgrade, root and reflash using mobile odin.
Regarding flashing the appropriate radio (so that the call silent issue is taken care of), can u please advice with any link to download the correct radio.

Yes this is my routine time to go to sleep, 2.30 to 3am. I need just 5.30 hr sleep n on sunday big 10 hrs.
No u need not to download separate modem. Just keep that kl3.
When u update kl3 to la4 or any, just keep modem field blank in mobile odin, that prevents your modem to update la4. But pda will get updated, thats it.
N yes gudnite

Tried and maked my Baseband Version to be emptied when I put the entire file on Mobile Odin in Modem.
Than flash again by just extracting the Modem file only and it works but my 3G is disabled and no internet connectivity.
Check wat is there under about phone
It is like thiss :
Baseband : that show modem you have flashed
You need to enter APN to get connect to 3G

This is a snapsot of my current ROM and list.
My country latest Stock is;
N7000DXLA1 --2.3.6 2012 January
N7000OLBKL2 -- Singapore (Singtel)
If i use Mobil Odin and extract the Modem only and flash it, where would the changes be reflected on both snapshot?

[Q] CSC keeps reverting to KOR

Any one has a suggestion as to why my phone keeps reverting to KOR csc?
I have tried flashing with both m-odin and PC Odin different csc's.
No matter what I do it ends up that Kies say firmware upgrade not supported.
PDA:LC1 / PHONE:LB2 / CSC:LB3 (KOR)
if you have flashed a multi csc file then you need to change the csc manually, flashing doesnt normally change it, the kor code is what mine defaults to

OK how do I do that then
But I think the issue I'm having is because I flashed the LPF bootloader. I have reverted back to STOCK LC1. I have search for ages but dont seem to be able to find a GB rom with old bootloaders. (this be completely wrong)
download csc changer fromthe mrkt, it sys it is for the galaxy s and s2 but works on the note, or google the code for changing it
here is how you manually change it
*#272*your IMEI number # then choose the one you want then tap install CAUTION IT WILL DO A FACTORY RESET

[Q] Flashing stock firmware with open CSC

Hello,
I just wanted to ask one thing about flashing the Samsung Galaxy Note stock firmware. I'm currently completely stock, never rooted, never flashed, the firmware is the Android 2.3.6 LA6, on the TOP CSC (Serbia, Telenor). Since I really want to finally switch to ICS, I've been planning to switch my CSC to CPW and get the OTA update for 4.0.3 XXLQ2.
Could someone tell me how to get the same LA6 firmware on my phone, but with all CSC's available, so I could switch back to TOP after updating? I wouldn't want any problems like the yellow triangle, not being able to have my phone recognized by Kies and such etc.
Any way to do it, or am I asking too much?
Don't be desperate, Wait for official ICS...
Or follow dr. Ketan's guide....
The thing is, ICS won't appear for my CSC in forever, so I just wanted to switch my CSC to something else and flash 4.0.3, then change the CSC back to my old one. I don't see any guide to do that in Dr. Ketan's, but there's only a list of all European firmwares. I don't know which CSC options they have

Press *#1234# on dialer and post your screen shot along with about phone in settings. More information will be good.
Here are the screenshots. Also, in Ketan's guide there is a bunch of STOCK firmwares. Is there a way to see which CSC options they have before downloading, or something?
I saw Open Europe firmware with the N7000OXALC1 CSC, any way to check which CSC's are in there?
