[Q] MIUI 2.3.4 for Galaxy S Gone wrong

Hi All - while in the process upgrading from the previous version of MIUI to this latest one, I accidentally selected the 'restart system option after formatting the system, cache and data without flushing the new ROM and now the phone won't boot up. It goes to the main Galaxy S screen followed by Galaxy S Glitch screen then it runs some coding (in seconds so i don't know what is says) and then back to main Galaxy screen in a loop.
What I have tried
> Going to recovery mode with vol up + home + power button (released @ first Samsung Screen) but then it goes back to second Galaxy S Glitch screen in the same loop.
> Going to download mode with vol down + home + power button and it does the same as going into recovery mode.
> Tried to do go into recovery and download mode multiple times using different combinations of vol up, vol down, home and power button without success.
> Read through the threads here but I was not able to find anything with the same or similar problem problem
> I tried to follow the help provided by Thyrador on this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109110 with Odin except using the jig method and no go
> Connecting phone to ODIN keeps on going rebooting in the phone in a loop as well.
I know if I can go into recovery mode I will be able to flush the new ROM but getting there is the problem.
I would appreciate your help with this and hope there is a fixable solution.

I have done that a few times and both CWM and download mode should be there.
Make sure everytime you try the 3 buttons you actually remove the battery before trying.
K.
Edit: the coding you are talking about is CWM trying something and that's shy I think it is still there.
Did you just format system?

Thanks for your response
I actually formatted the system, data and cache without flushing the new ROM.
I tried what you said about removing the battery but that didn't show anything on the screen when I tried the 3 buttons. Is that what you meant?
cheers

What I meant was a bit dumb as since you have a bootoop you would have removed the battery anyway each time to try.
I normally flash the same way like you and I always do a factory reset (which formats Data and cache and I do the system manually. Unless soemthing has gone seriously wrong I don't see why you would not be able to get back to recovery?
I have even done it today actually and managed to go back to recovery.
I would say try and boot into download mode. Did you use Download Mode in the past? Are you sure it is there?
I read somewhere else someone saying that it does not always work the first time. Give it a few tries.
Your last option would be the JIG obviously but hopefully you should be able to get it sorted without.
K.
To tell you the truth I always use an app to boot the phone into recovery or download mode however one of my work colleagues has always being able to reboot my phone into any of these modes using the three buttons - not sure how. I will continue to try anyway.
Thanks again for your response and for give me hope that this has happened to you in the past.
cheers

Looping Boot after OTA-Update

Hey Guys,
After downloading the newest OTA-Update for my Note, it rebooted itself and is now stuck in the boot animation. I only hear the Samsung-Jingle once, but after that it keeps playing the animation over and over. I plugged the Note in and let it go all night, thinking it was part of the upgrade, but this morning it was still looping. I am not using a Root or Custom Rom - this is all stock.
I would appreciate any pointers and insight! Thanks.
Try booting to recovery (volume up + home + power) and do factory reset and wip cache.
Thanks for the reply.
I tried the VolumeUp-Home-Power: The phone will start, I can see the little Android with the status bar, but then it just moves on to the regular boot animation and I am right back in the loop.
Takes a Couple of tries, otherwise try download mode, volume button down, home button and power button. Then connect to PC and flash stockrom with odin.
Its tricky getting it right. Turn off phone, turn on and emediately press the button combos.
From recovery you can do a factory reset or clear dalvicc cache. Clearing this cache solved most of my bootloops.

Pull the battery out and put back in after 3-5 secs. Hold VolumeUp + Home + Power till u can see "Galaxy Note N7000" screen. then it ll boot in Recovery mode. here u can do "wipe / Factory Reset" and "Wipe cache". then after Just select Reboot.
This method should work. if you unable to get into recovery mode, then i guess something went wrong with OTA update. So you have to flash the Official ROM using PC Odin. You can find link to update Official ROM in my signature.

SM-N920I in bootloop after OTA update, unable to access recovery mode.

Would thoroughly appreciate any kind assistance. I have a note 5 model no SM-N920I. I come from Singapore, and this phone is unbranded (not carrier specific). What happened was, i received an OTA update and thus went ahead with downloading the update. Immediately upon successful update, my phone started crashing and constantly rebooting on its own. Until one fine day it crashed and went into bootloop.
After which, i had attempted to reflash stock Firmware using Smartswitch. It was successful but the phone was still stuck in bootloop. Any attempts to force the phone into recovery mode (home + vol up + power button) was not successful. I couldnt even switch off my phone, with the screen stuck on the samsung screen, untill the battery drained. Any attempts to charge the phone would cause the phone to turn on but stuck on the samsung screen. Able to go into download mode, and already checked the vol up button is not faulty.
Attempted to reflash stock via ODIN, was successful also, but still in bootloop and unable to force into recovery mode.
Phone had never been tampered with before this issue, never rooted, never messed with. Appreciate any help offered. Thanks

Hold both the volume down and power button at the same time until the screen turns off, when it turns back on use the volume down button to select factory reset and then tap the home button and follow through with it.
At this point you can flash the twrp recovery from Odin. My be that recovery works for you and in this you can wipe the phone.
Hello. I am new here and sorry if broke any rules.
I have note 5 n920L. Bought it used. Received update 7.0. After it, it worked for 2 days and than started working slowly. Restarted and after restart I saw blue screen - "installing system updates". The same screen was for 10 hours. It could not load into recovery mode for wiping. It could not install firmware from download mode. Cannot add here photos because do not have 10 posts.
When trying installing firmware, odin stops on system.img.
When trying recovery mode, it does not enters there.
I see recovery mode after hours trying installing system updates. When I click on wipe data or cache, I have errors:
no support single - sku
supported api: 3
dm-verify verification failed
e: failed to mount cache (invalid argument)
e: cannot mount cache recovery last install and many other similar errors
FRP IS LOCKED. STATUS IS CUSTOM (do not know how and why, if it was custom could not receive update..)
If you can get into download mode you should try Samsung smart switch.
Samsung smart swithc writes that the this device is ot supported. Why it writes so, do not know. It is original n920L
Try this.

bro use kies to recover your phone but all data will be lose if u do this format.
Get your model , serial and IMEI number
If you can go to download mode then flash.... twrp-3.0.2-2-noblelte.img .... (Google plz) by putting the file in ODIN (AP) and flsh it. Then u can go in TWRP mode. Once u go in TWRP mode then u can connect ur phone to PC & put any custom rom depending on model u have & flash the custom rom. Later u can download the latest firmware from sammobile & flash the stock rom.
Another Solution: if u have flashed stock rom or reflashed the rom but giving same bootloop problem then Use 3 fingers i.e. volume up-volume down-power button and press it till the samsung logo starts flashing. Immediately again using 3 fingers press volume up- power- home button for long time till u get stock recovery. U have to do this the time when samsung logo goes off. Now from stock recovery wipe cache, dalvik and then select factory reset and then power off. Later put ur phone ON and around 20 minutes Ur phone will start with the latest stock rom.
I had same problem on my 920C & 920i model but both were saved by the procedure given above.
Need a clearer understanding of the steps needed

The time u flashed the rom before the bootloop started did u checked in ODIN the GREEN BLOCK with PASS!!! written. If yes then U do not have any FRP lock problem or else the rom could not be flashed anyhow.
And if ur getting the bootloop this means the rom has been flashed but stuck on Samsung logo for several minutes. In this case im sure ur phone can go in stock recovery. Just send the image of the phone when it says FRP lock.
It wrote fail. Cannot flash firmware too, it stucks on system img.

Extract the zip file I added to the folder and open the Frija software. Download your firmware by entering the version and model of your device and the code of the country where the device is registered. Copy the AP file and paste it on your device. Open magisk manager app and tap install. Patch the AP file. When the process is finished, you can transfer the tar file named magik pacthed in the download folder to the AP section via odin, the file starting with the BL you downloaded with the Frija software, to the BL section, etc. Select HOME CSC in the USERDATA section, if you do not want your information to be deleted. Turn off your device, press the volume down, volume up and power button at the same time, and when the screen turns black, remove your finger from the power button and put it into download mode. Before starting the installation from the Odin software, deselect the Automatic Restart option in the Odin software options section and try to Start. When you get the AVB (fail) error, press the volume down, volume up and power button at the same time, and when the screen turns black, remove your finger from the power button and enter the download again. Deselect the AP partition, click Start again and wait. After installing the device, disconnect the cable and install Magisk Manager, if it does not stop. reboot if prompted. and now your device is rooted.

Galaxy S10 SS RDX instead of Recovery

Hi guys
I have a problem with my Galaxy S10. When I bought it I was able to boot into recovery normally but when I try now, I always end up in the SS RDX mode and it says "user press reset Keys for 7 sec". Then it makes a RAM-Dump onto the SD-Card for about 15 minutes before booting normally. I have searched the problem on the Internet but nobody seems to have the exact problem I have. I have also read that the SS RDX mode is the same as the download-mode but my SS RDX mode looks different than the download mode.
Does anybody know why I always end up in the SS RDX mode and how to get into recovery?
For me it is not a huge problem as I'm not really dependent on the Recovery, I just wanted to get in to wipe the cache partition and am confused why I can't enter it.
I have not flashed any custom Rom or recovery onto the phone, its stock.
Maybe one of you guys knows more about why that happens.
Thanks in advance
Fast_Lessy
I was able to finally reach the recovery by plugging in the Phone while doing the Key combination. So fixed I guess...
