Ok. I have a realme x7 MAX. ----RMX 3031
Realme UI version 2.0
Build number RMX3031_11_A.15
the june security update bricked my phone twice, and required a complete factory reset. Later the service center disabled automatic update.
now the July update is out. I want to know how to backup my phone completely so that in case this bricks my phone I can use my old image instead of the factory image.
I have adb installed and have used it to remove a lot of preinstalled programs
Since we are not Rooted, so try Swift backup available on play store

Hi folks,
What we used as beta ROM is now published as official stable release known as version RMX1991_11.C.12 for Chinese model of Realme X2.
Probably anyone can upgrade the phone now in any possible way.
The bad news is FP stops working as soon as you patch vbmeta for disabling AVB...
The good news is that there's no verification of system partition. You can leave vbmeta untouched and modify whatever you want except boot.

No, Magisk is patching boot, which will require you to disable verification by means of vbmeta. You can try system-based methods like one of SuperSU.

but in order to fix twrp replace issue vbmeta verification is needed to be disabled right??
I will try to search for it. Is it just a normal app to install from Play store? or requires other method?
One more thing, TWRP working with it or no?
Thanks

I guess I am not able to understand how to do root? I searched for system base root in the web with no luck
Would you mind explaining how to do root without Magisk?

No. At least a few last CN ROM versions are insensitive to recovery replacement. You can keep stock vbmeta and flash custom recovery. But recovery will be replaced when you boot system, i.e. you flash custom recovery for single and immediate use

Backup is a nice thing. I would always insist on creating backup.
I successfully switched onto realmeUI without losing data. As I understand, you have to do it from A.17 (for CN device). My path was A.16 -> C.02, but now many are suggested to upgrade from A.17 straight to C.12.

Thanks man. I don't know what reliable backup method i can use on an unrooted phone. I'm on A17 so i guess it's safe to upgrade without backup. Again, have u experienced any bug so far on realme ui?

Hi guys, as We know, BS3 don't have stable global rom yet for chinese version. If have some good soul here, please follow this tutorial and upload your global rom stable for communnity.
The step is very easy, fallow this guide to unlock and flash twrp: https://forum.xda-developers.com/bl...ckshark-3-3-pro-3s-unlock-bootloader-t4141537
After unlock and flash twrp, make sure to logout your Mi Account.
Go to TWRP> backup > select all box (don't select data user and EFS) wait the proccess finish. After finish, go to PC plug the device, copy your twrp folder to your pc, compact it with winrar and upload it. Share with us.
With this way we can get legit global rom for BS3 (normal version).

Maybe no one will do because they could be afraid of getting bricked or afraid of not receiving ota updates anymore. If only bs team will share it (and not sell), we won't have this problem. Now I hope they fail spectacularly on the next update or in JoyUI12 so they wont have a choice but to release full rom over ota. Imagine that.
the method is very easy ;-; , sad
I would love to dump my rom, but the thing is, this TWRP recovery won't guarantee the safety of my device. I just bought this and I check the link and the files that were put in there, I'm not sure if I should risk flashing a modified TWRP created by an unknown dev, I also would not risk flashing a Chinese TWRP recovery not knowing the compatibility of Global devices to CN ones. You're right, it is easy as point click and type commands, but the risk is high also and bricking the phone is too easy too. I hope Blackshark really opens up on devs like what Asus is doing on their ROG3. This would make their device a lot more famous, allowing developers collaborate with each other. If I can't figure out a safe way to root and install custom recovery at least in the next few months, I might sell this device, too bad this has serious hardware that can rival flagships but, it's a deal breaker for us not to have custom recovery backups and rooting too. Ecosystem is too restrictive. I dunno what these chinese folks were thinking when they made this device.

don't have error. If you would want revert back for stock recovery, just lock your bootloader again and it will revert back for original system.

Yours is a CN Model. Mine isn't, this is Global already. I haven't studied the phone differences yet so I can't comment too much, I'll have to check how to get stock images to revert to original system. There's no known downloadable image right?

Hi all,
Is it possible to downgrade to previous version, without data loss. Because battery backup is worst. Before this new update, I used get 3 days backup. now its less than 2 days. I am not a gamer.

I can't say for sure as I've never done it.... But here's the info from Asus website
'Version Android 10 downgrade to P (WW) 2020/03/162.22 GBytes
ROG Phone II Software downgrade from Android 10 to Android 9 for WW SKU only*
*Please follow steps and ensure to backup data before downgrade.
Steps of Update:
1.Download the patch pack.
2.The system will detect new firmware.
3.After executing the patch, the system will reboot once.
4.When the system boot on, the firmware version will be recover to Android P.
*How to know the device model?
Path: Settings->About-> Model number
Example: ASUS PadFone2
**How to know the device software version?
Path: Settings->About-> software information->Build number
Example: CHT_PadFone2-user-10.4.17.15-UpdateLauncher
*System upgrade may cause part of data missing, please backup your important data before system upgrading.'
It's not very clear about whether you will be factory reset or not - it just says you may lose part of your data. Backup as much as you can 1st.
However, 1) are you on the latest 2009.49 build? 2) If you are already, how long is it since you updated? 3) Also, are you rooted with magisk? 4) Although you used to get 3 days use, do you know how much screen-on-time and idle time approximately that you used to do over those 3 days?
1)+2) If you have only just updated, you need to allow a good few days for the update to 'settle' in. Then judge the battery life once it's settled. For me (I also don't really game - I only play non-demanding Bike Race several times per day) I'm getting a pretty consistent 9 hours screen-on-time with wifi/bluetooth/data etc always enabled and no extra battery tweaks, which I think is pretty good.
3) If you are rooted with magisk/magisk manager installed, check under magisk hide that Google services isn't hidden. This can cause a certain degree of extra consumption, probably not a vast amount, but it's for sure higher with Google stuff hidden.
Use raw file with pc
But backup always recommended!
Thanks for the replies. I will try and let you know.

it is not recommend to update your OS directly from Setting while Magisk is installed ...your phone would go into bootloop(unusable state) there are also stories of people that are force to buy new device because of this silly mistake also installing OS update from Setting would uninstall Magisk also worse case scenario would lock your bootloader too which as your provably know it's nightmare

You're supposed to be able to downgrade without wipe now, since Google went a little Beta overboard, but I haven't had any luck personally.
Especially if you wanna run TWRP(I've tried "Flash Current" & "Ramdisk Recovery" each bootloop without factory reset unless someone knows what I'm doing wrong).
