Question S21 ULTRA NO SERVICE - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Hi, i am really frustrated right now. i have an s21 ultra(sm-g9980) hong kong version. Been using this phone for months now with everything working smoothly. i recently received the recent security update for the phone and i updated it. thats where my problem started. after the update all of a sudden i cant receive any service at all from my sim cards. The phone displays a sort of "no entry" symbol at the top. i have tried everything. From resetting the networks to hard resetting, all to no avail. Even sent it to a local repair shop and they couldnt tell what the problem is. The imei is visible and the phone can recognise that there is a sim card in it, however, it still displays no service. this has made me really frustrated as i cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Also, i should add that however i did have a problem with my usb port which was fixed and replaced before this issue started after the firmware update. Do you think this issue is connected to the usb i had replaced? Saw a post which said something about the antenna and the usb connector being on the same daughterboard. Could this be the problem? Would really apprecaite it if anyone could help me out. thanks

Try another sim card.

Doesnt work. Flashed another firmware. Still didnt work

I'm sorry, but it's most likely a hardware problem.

Rush to the nearest Samsung repair centre and get your motherboard replaced.

Unique Problem!!

Hii..I have a TOPAZ from past one and a half year. From the last december i am facing a unique problem regarding my EDGE/GPRS/3G connection.Earlier I used to have a BSNL(operator) sim on my TD2(stock ROM).It worked fine for few months but in december it was unable to connect to a data connection although voice/text was working fine. I thought to have some problem with the sim,so i replaced it with a new sim/number,but in vain. Then i switched to AIRCEL(operator) then for few months it went fine. Then again I faced the issue of unabling to make data connection. After that I contacted HTC but they could not identify the problem. So i switched my network again to DOCOMO,now for the past few months everything went fine, now the problem cropped again.Meanwhile I have HSPL my phone and tried out different radio and ROMS(currently Energyz) but all in vain.
Guyz plz help me out as this is a completely unlocked phone and costed me a bomb to buy.
My old MIO A701 did the same... After a while it did not manage any data connection, and after that it did not recognize any network at all. It tooks few weeks (more less than you). The problem was the radio chip and the solution is to be replace the motherboard. So... I am a htc owner...

Thanx for the reply.
Is there any other solution bcoz replacing motherboard would be a very expensive affair since my phone is out of warranty..Can any kind of update or patch would be helpful??
it may not actually be the phone,
do you keep your phone on all the time? or in the same area?
the sim card updates with the network anytime it moves into a new cell area or when the handset is switched of and then back on. it could be that it hasn't updated on the network for a while and this could be at fault....

If your phone is out of warranty because of HSPL you can revert it to normal SLP and return it to HTC (Look at original Olinex's HSPL thread).
and You may not have to change the whole phone mainboard, they may only replace the damaged chip which will cost less.

Its more than a year old device that's why warranty has expired.
Regarding the replacement, have contacted the HTC care and awaiting for reply.
Will update the latest reply from HTC as soon as i get it.

[Q] Internet Troubleshooting

I just bought this new phone 14days ago. I got my number transferred from a prepaid to a new simcard. Everything was good until they actually ported my number to the new simcard. After that i have NO internet at all.
I have a 3G icon and can call/sms but as i try open the browser it says. The page cannot be find. Also when i turn my phone off and on it says after i dialed my pincode: Error cant apply settings to modem.
My provider is T-mobile here from the netherlands, they had some interference at the beginning at the week, but i spoke with them today and they can see everything should work. I tried to make a new APN with the guidance from T-mobile but it dosent help. Also rebooted it 4 times from fabric settings, still nothing.
Can say that i havent done anything with the phone, its not hacked/rooted or whatever. Basically in same shape as when i bought it.
I read another tread that also descripes the problem i have but these phones are rooted, and didnt really get any solution out of it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-995363.html
Dont know if its any help, but i can connect to the internet with my WIFI connection at home.
Does anyone have ANY idea to what i can do?
Thanks in advance!

Maybe also nessasary to mention i DID put my SIM in another device. Still same outcome. NO internet still
Well if you haven't got data on the other phone either then I am pretty sure its a sim/provider issue and has got nothing to do with your phone at all

Yea you would think that, they told me in the store today that was not the case. Funny thing is i tryed to switch it again into another devince, and still nothing. However, as I went into the store i got a new simcard that didnt fix the prob. Suspecting some internal flaw?
Anyway, gonna call LG and use my vip change possibility so we'll see if its the device itself or not.
T-mobile offcourse claims that its a software prob, as this often happens on first batch phones

Samsung Galaxy S Captivate not recognizing sim card.

i have torch v1.5 on my phone. when i took my sim out, put a friends in so she could use it, then put mine back in, it didnt recognize my sim. i cant access the APN settings to change those back to rogers, because it says "insert sim card to access network services". can someone please help me with this as i NEED my phone for this weekend.
Cheers
Get a new sim card?
Does your sim card work in a different phone?
That happened to me once. I had to return the phone. I was unable to get it to recognize the sim card.
Different rom didn't help either. Even when I flashed back to stock... no sim. It was a refurb so a new one was easy to get.
Hope you get it worked out.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
This happened to me earlier this week. Flash to stock and then back to the rom worked for me

Clean contacts on sim card. Factory reset. If that doesn't work call Rogers for replacement.
No warranty you can replace the simcard slot its a daughter card I think you can order from globalpartsdirect
I have the exact same problem. Again it happened with a warranty phone I just received today. It occurred while trying to root the phone. The SIM card from my wife's iPhone does not work in my phone either. However, my SIM works in her phone. I've tried just about everything I can think of at this point other than running Kies (my next try).
BTW,
Unlike my original Captivate, this one came to me with Froyo already installed.
Under Menu /Settings / About phone /Status /Network what does it say ??
If it says "Unknown" you could try just flashing ur modem again.
I am having the exact same issue with a refurbished phone from AT&T and insurance gone im out of luck unless there is a easy solution.
Hello Everyone, So this is my situation so far:
I have a Samsung Captivate with unbrickable mod added. I flashed with Heindall to 2.2 froyo on linux. The SIM card is not recognized. I have triend 2.1 and 2.2 and 2.3 one clicks in windwons with no luck. I tried to mess with IMEI and elfs file. Results were that the lines i was suppose to change on nv.bin did not exist (no lines in file i was attempting to correct). So at this point and time can i conclude this is absolutely not a software issue? Problem two is if this is a hardware issue and not a software issue. Where do i begin? how much is the price for replacement? How hard is it to do? I have tried flashing with everything off the phone (sim and sd) Im a bit lost at this point. Any help would be great.
Update: Spoke with Adam and he says its not a software issue. I also spoke with the guys who did the soldering and said the issue is not coming from the soldering. I am thinking maybe when the phone was taken apart something got loose? Any thoughts anyone?

[Q] i9000T No signal help

I have a Samsung i9000T that I recently bought from a lady who said she forgot her password to it so she couldn't unlock it. So I bought it and tried factory resetting it so I could sell it to a friend of mine who wants to upgrade from an iPhone 3G. Well factory resetting did nothing, I did some digging and found out that it's a common problem for i9000's to have a csc file corruption. So I decided to flash, via odin, a stock firmware to the device. The firmware I decided on was a UK firmware because I couldn't find an american firmware for it. The flash was successful and I was able to boot the phone no problem. A weird thing was that all of the lady's data was still on the phone, so I contacted her and told her I could backup all of her pics and give them to her, which she happily said yes to. After that, I rooted the phone and installed cwm and then flashed Slim rom android 4.2.1 to the device. I then put a backup sim of mine in the phone and tested the phone. The problem I am having is I don't get any signal on the phone what so ever. I have all the ATT apn's on the phone and they look to be correct.
My question is, having flashed a UK firmware before anything somehow messed up the ability to connect to ATT here in the USA? And what course of action should I take to correct the issue with no signal? My friend is in the military and is being mobilized on the 1st of march so I would like to have a working phone for him before then as I will not see him for some time after.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Just a question, has she ever reported it stolen? Has the IMEI number been blocked?
Find out the IMEI number and contact the original Network Supplier that the phone was used on and as them to check this. They'd be able to tell you if there are any issues.
Not trying to worry you but it happened to me. I had to return the phone.
I know the imei, but I don't know the original carrier for the phone... I assume it was ATT because that is the dominant carrier in my area. I'll get in touch with the lady I bought it from and see for sure.
On another note, I've tried testing the internal antenna by inserting a wire into the external port, but still no signal.
I'm going to try completely starting over and see how it goes this time.
Ok, so this thread can be closed now. I've solved the problem.. and feel like such a noob for some reason I was kinda spot on with what i thought was wrong but I had such a hard time finding files to fix it... untill i found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
AMAZING guide. Fixed my problem right up. Running 3G here in Texas on ATT. My friend will be so happy that he gets to take an android back over-seas with him.
Thanks to all of those who helped, I greatly appreciate it.

AT&T HTC One unable to detect Sim Card. Doesn't even notify sim card missing.

my At&T Htc one m7 is unable to detect the sim card. It doesn't even show an error in the notification window almost all of the time, sometimes when i get the notification error (no sim card) i insert the sim again and it works. I tried the tape fix but it didn't work. Tried bending the tray a little that didn't work either. Tried using a nano-sim with a micro-sim adapter but that also doesn't work. Even when the sim card is inside the option to search networks is greyed out. I'm in India bought it on eBay in Dec'14. The HTC service guys are saying they cannot repair AT&T at all. What can be the issue ? Is the sim card reader faulty ?
I'm running Lollipop 5.02 stock with S-OFF.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I would strongly recommend not bending the tray, adding tape or using sim card adapters. All these things can make the situation worst, many members got their sim tray stuck inside the phone because of that.
Backup your files and try a factory reset first
If the phone isn't stock, you should flash back the stock rom
Also try with a new sim card
If nothing works its maybe an hardware damage and you'll need to send the phone for repair

I'm fully on stock, tried factory reset, tried with different sim cards (with a brand new one too) but nothing works. Problem is I don't know where to get the set repaired in India as the HTC service center refused to service it saying they won't get the parts for AT&T. Can sim reader be a problem ?

Not the first time I see this. Its a cheap excuse because they don't care/want to provide support for devices that were not purchased locally. I can't believe it's impossible for a big company like HTC to get the parts from the USA center or even directly from the manufacturer from Taiwan. Anyway it might not worth it depending the cost of repair, a brand new M7 cost around 200$

Maybe it could also be anything else like the radio or the motherboard, its hard to tell.
Got it rectified .. it was an issue with the imei .. the number just sometimes went blank because of which all this kept happening .. wrote the imei again and it's working fine since a day
Thanks ..

I am facing problem like it shows No service. What does that mean ? I have one more HTC one M7. My Sim card works well in that. I tried swaping Sim Card Tray. But did not work. What to do ?
Just found Yesterday night:
IMEI number is not seen in my phone and IMEI SV is also unknown.
Now how to get back my IMEI number ? I have my original IMEI number with me on the BOX.
My phone is

Radio - 4T. 20. 3218. 13
Open DSP-v 31. 120. 274. 0617
TWRP V2.8.3.0
I see in other posts that SOFF is needed and I have SON.
How to get SOFF ?

Please help me asap. I am struck and my communication is gone to zero.

Sorry for the late reply man, nothing got rectified, I even got the network IC changed. After a day it became the same again. Sold the set as the HTC guys in Delhi said the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Were you able to solve the problem ?
