[Brick] Xiaomi Mi5 64GB (Locked BL, No EDL, No Recovery)

OK here is my problem,
I got a brand new Xiaomi Mi5 64GB and the first thing that I did was to connect it with Mi PC Suite to check for updates.
It found an update and started to update until it failed, after that the device couldn't normal boot or recovery boot (Vol+ and POWER went to a black screen with "mi logo" same as normal boot).

I can only boot on fastboot mode, but can't do anything in the fastboot as BL is locked.
Official BL unlocking method can't work as device isn't linked to any Mi Account and MiFlashUnlock can't verify my device.

So my questions is, can I someway repair my phone with QPST or would you suggest another solution?

in this guide have to boot into recovery, i CANT boot into recovery, got no recovery.

you have to flash with miflash tool booting into fastboot then

MiFlash cant flash anything as bootloader is locked.

1. I CAN'T boot into recovery.

You CAN boot into recovery, don't be silly. Have you read the instructions?
Hold volume up and power button and a MI logo should came up, that's the recovery.

Recovery was a black screen with a white phone, not "mi".
Phone is not detectable anyway if i normally or vol+ boot.
Im not a noob i know what recovery is, so i need answers with the facts that i mention before, no recovery, no edl, unlockable bl.
Im gonna send it to repair shop anyway but still my situation is a big problem that xiaomi should look into it. I get bricked via official update tool, and i cant unlock bl cause xiaomi's unlocking tool stupidly requires linked mi account on device to verify.

When you boot into fastboot and update in mipc suite, it doesn't work ?
I don't understand why official tool need unlock bootloader, it's insane from Xiaomi

Mi PC Suite doesn't recognize device in fastboot mode, it returns a screen to connect in normal mode first.
Only MiFlash can see the device in fastboot but it needs unlocked BL to flash the Official fastboot ROMs. Madness!

Just speculation but maybe can you reboot in recovery with adb commands ? (adb reboot recovery)

Or maybe download twrp, run shell from where it is saved and run

Oh yes sorry, it's a phone, my bad.
Then the recovery works fine for you, just the PC doesn't recognise it, which is driver or windows problem, not your phone.
SpinoRex: Fastboot doesn't work because of the locked bootloader. Only option is the official recovery with chinese mi pc suite.

You may try to use MI SUITE in Chinese. I was in your exact situation trying to remove a fake rom from my MI5, but with this I solved all the issues.
Just one advice: don't use a pre-loaded ROM, let the program to download it from the internet.

you can boot your device into edl mode with a special fastboot
just type "fastboot reboot" to go to the Edl mode and flash rom with miFlash

Please check that you have the correct fastboot drivers installed. Open Windows Device manager, and check the properties of your Fastboot device. Do you see HMD Global as the manufacturer? If not, the drivers may not be correct and you should install the Nokia drivers.

It should work in that case. Give a try to the NOST tool shared in the Nokia 8 forums itself.

You should use the existing NB0 which you have for the Nokia 8. I think it is on Oreo only. I hope you do have it.

You need to be flashing the actual unlock.bin file you used to unlock the Nokia 8. As you see in your CMD window, the command did not work out.
Make sure you're CMDing in the directory of your unlock file. Then send the command
Code:
fastboot flash unlock UnlockFile.bin
Remember to replace UnlockFile.bin with the name of actual unlock file in your PC.

unlock.bin is it provide by HMD that one?
I have receive my nokia 8 unlock bootloader file before by HMD,
name called unlock.key
is it this one? should I rename it to unlock.bin ?

Yes, that's the one. You don't have to rename it. Just pass it the way you did earlier.
fastboot flash unlock unlock.key
When it gets accepted, then run:
fastboot flashing unlock_critical

but I need flash again after auto update..
I also fastboot flashing unlock_critical, work too.
but got another problem.....
NOST tool error code: 0xa24b
ERROR= BATTERY_VOLTAGE_TOO_LOW_FAIL (0xA24B).
I can't charge or very very slow maybe.
I charge it over 1 hour still lower than NOST tool requirement(30%)...
my TA-1004 can not power off since first flash fail....
I keep saw "download mode" over light and I can't power off...

how can I force power off it?

You can power off the phone from the stock recovery or TWRP. That is, if you are able to boot into any of them. If you have the stock recovery file, then flash it to the phone. After that force reboot it and continue to hold the keys and it should go into recovery mode. The phone will essentially start faster in recovery mode. Or you can also choose the "Power off" option in recovery to power off the phone.
If you cannot get into recovery, then you cannot power it off. And in that case you will have to bear this slow charge only. Just plug it into a wall charger and leave it for a few hours. You can then check the battery capacity after connecting to the PC and sending the following command:

I charge it over 10 hrs, I did, I can flash NB1-488B Oreo 8.1 back, I can use my phone right now, thank you very much

SOLVED --redmi note 9, blinking redmi logo, not starting, cannot switch off, can't enter fastboot mode also

I tried to root my redme note 9 using magdisc from pc. after completing all steps, I have given command to boot recovery through minimal adb, after that phone automatically moved from Fastboot mode and started blinking REDME on screen, a few moments later it goes black and again appear. it keeps continuing now. I tried long press on the power button for restart/switch off, but no use, it will vibrate and ON with redme logo, and will go black after few moments. i tried to enter into fast boot mode, but result is same, it will vibrate and go OFF, when I tried to connect pc, pc is not recogonizing this phone anymore. nothing is working, cant even switch off

Yep! upgrade from pixelUI official 3.7 to 3.8, had some intempestive reboot, so i swype and re-install and seen that, infinite boot loop, no recovery, no fastboot and phone isn't recognize by PC...
So i can't use SPflash tool to install stock rom...
Sometimes PC see the phone realy realy fast son i don't have time to verify in device manager..

How can I do that, to force flashing using sp flash tool? something similar happens to me only that it does not turn on and when I connect it to the pc comes out the following error that I will attach an image and translate:
'usb device is not recognized
the last device you connected to this computer did not work and Windows does not recognize it.'
what can i do in that case?

hello there, my redmi note 9 just got updated to miui 13 and for some time it sudenly freezes and not its in bootloop and i cant go to recovery mode nor fastboot, what do i need to do to fix this?

Hi all, dumbass me was so excited to get a new phone, I went around Redmi Note 10 ROMs on my Note 10 5G and bricked it... It won't boot into fastboot or recovery. When I boot it up holding the up/power buttons, the screen lights up and phone gets briefly recognized by my computer before rebooting. I've done some digging around and tried to find edl point? of this phone but couldn't get far. Any help would be appreciated!

first: CLOSE YOUR PHONE!
install mi pro flash tool https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586360238
PRESS power+ vol up+vold -
connet to pc via USB
OPEN MIflash tool pro
if your phone will be recognized you can flash stock firmware
with miflash pro you can install all drivers you need (but i'm not sure, test by yourself)
good luck.
if this procedure don't work go to an assistance point. you have damaged the bootloader
before mod devices with a/b partitions is very important read guides with attention. if you don't want trash a new device
you can also try sp flash tool, specific for mtk devices

did you even open it? tannedcan in every single post where there are instructions how to root/unlock/change rom
there is a DISCLAIMER for a reason.
that msg remark that you can brick your device if you dont know what you are doing or if you have doubts!
most of times things can be recovered but NEVER open a device in warranty.

Press mobile three buttons and connect cable to pc (use USB 2.0) to enter BROM mode (are like ERL mode in Snapdragon models). Because mtk models don't have test point. So don't need to disarm mobile.

i did it all
i already have python the last version
i downloaded the MTK driver
i pressed the whole 3 buttons in the phone connected to PC (the phone didn't give any output at all)
i did set it up (which does appear and dissapear in every 5secs so I had to be quick)
then for the main.py file didn't capture the phone (obviously because I constantly hear the devices get recognized and unrecognized and nor the cable nor the PC are the cause
the theeere I am, stuck in the very 1st step.
please I would be so thankful if you could diagnose the problem just for me to know what to do.
personally I don't think it's a phone hardware problem because back in the days lol i unlocked bootloader and installed recovery, all was very functional and everything responded smoothly

I have all the files needed to setup sp flash and try to put again the Rom in the phone, which is now not unlocked and no usb debugging on.
Can someone please give me a tutorial on how to use those files? My phone still not recognised in sp flash com port, I don't know how to do.

If you need to disable authorisation, did you run the MTK Auth Bypass tool and get the message "Protection disabled"? That's what I had to do before SP Flash Tool would flash the phone (without disconnecting it or rebooting), and I also had to set the baud rate to 921600, although that was all under Linux, and the phone was still unlocked.

it's complicated. with phone locked fastboot commands don't work. with my hold mi a3 fastboot flashing unlock command work. but with miui and mtk chipset probably it's useless. but u can try. if u boot into bootloader with mediatek driver the pc should recognize your phone also if it's blocked

1: Unzip this attached file into a folder. run it.
2: select the unlock bootloader and start, then connect you phone via usb with all three buttons pressed. (Phone must be off before connect, )

Thanks for the help, the problem I'm facing it's Auth tool cont recognise the phone, when I open the shell keep saying waiting for the device.
Driver are mtk with Libus installed, dunno.
When I restart the phone immediately have the logo then, if volume up I can log mi assistant or with volume down the bootloader screen.

1. Check your device driver for USB, suggest you re-install the MTK usb driver.
2. First run the program, select the Auth by pass then press start.
3. Make sure phone is in "power off" state, press Vol+, Vol- and power (all three at the same time), and don't release it, plug in USB cable and wait.... Don't release these three buttons until it is Auth by pass OK.
During this process, take a look at device manager, there must be one item like portable device - USB ( Com 3). keep flashing.

you "must" remove (uninstall) the driver first then re-install the MTK usb driver again.

I did that many times, with win 10 no drivers signed mode, with many different mtk drivers but nothing was working. I'll try clean my windows and then start again with the drivers.

is a win10 problem that i also haved. hard to solve. u can try windows 7 via virtualbox (solved a lot of my problems in the past) or format and install a modded version of win10 (but i dont suggest this)

Virtual box looks no longer available, I'll install a fresh copy of win 7 in another partition, never give up lol

virtualbox is available for all system. i have a win7 virtualized under my linux pc, and miflash works fine. no bugs. if my tips makes you happy dont try. is not my problem, i didnt bricked my phone. i dont make things without know what i'm doing. good look. u can buy a new phone if u prefere

? I've just told you I've tried to download virtual box for win 10 but it's not avaible now or server was temporarily down for the download, so my only way it's to set up a fresh copy on win 7 on my pc, I can't understand your hanger answer.

try wipe data. also u can control the active slot. try change it and reboot

Hi, finally I can install the Recovery V12.5.16.0.RKPCNXM rom and the engineering rom but have no baseband and no IMEI. Tried many times to put my IMEI codes with no luck, looks I need the mt6893 modem file to use sn writer but no way to find them on net, can someone share those files please? Thanks
