Question Dust under camera lens - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Hi is anyone else got dust partials under the camera lens as mine seems to have a couple which wasn't there when I firt bought it
It won't bother me but will it have a problem in the future with pictures etc
Thanks

You should have it checked, cause it's not normal. More dust could collect in the future.

Return it. It is IP68 rated so no dust can get in. If you have got dust in there the seal has failed.
There is an app that was mentioned on this site for testing the ait tight seal, it would be worth testing with that.

Dust in front facing camera

Hey guys, I'm having a massive problem with dust in my front facing camera. It renders it practically unusable, everything looks white when I switch to the front facing camera.
Any ideas on how to remove the dust? I don't even have any idea how it got in. Best bet is through the ear piece I guess.

not sure if it will help you
but for most of my high end cameras i use a Giottos Rocket blower to get rid of the dust in most parts
Thing is, is behind a glass piece sigh

arghh! this seems very problematic since unless you dismantle the Note, it will be nearly impossible to wipe the dust. Didn't you use a protective cover and screen protection from the beginning or the dust was present the 1st day you got the Note?

Thats the thing. I dont remember if it was present the day I bought it. Yeah I did use a protective cover. You guys don't have a problem with dust in the front camera?
Maybe it's a fault? Can you physically see the dust on the glass in front of the camera? Mine looks clear like this image:

You probably can take it to warranty Samsung service and say it never worked.
I don't use a protective cover and have had no dust issues. I've noticed some dirt/dust getting into the back cover area which i just blow out occasionally. Maybe if you clean/blow out those areas and ports it might dislodge any debris?

Yes, I can physically see the dust. The front facing camera is greyed over. Sighh
Well if you're feeling adventurous, you can dissemble the Note yourself and clean it. There are a few tutorials on youtube under "disasemble galaxy note" such as this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFDr3PQMTxw
It doesn't seem that hard and you don't need any special equipment.
This definitely sounds like a clear cut warranty claim case.
Nothing is supposed to be able to enter that little space in front of the camera if the phone has not broken or been broken since day one. Thats my point of view anyway.

I followed the video and dissembled the phone. Luckily it all went well and I was able to remove all the dust. The front camera is working perfect now. Thankss!

Awesome
Just a generall concern...shouldn't the warrenty cover a scenario like this?

I had same problem, and also eventually dissasembld to clean. I did otice (prior to dissassembly) that the glass screen was slightly loose against the chrome bezel at along the top edge (i.e. where the earpiece & front cam are located). pressing on that edge (particularly at the RHS near the cam) there was some "give" - i.e. you could push the glass and it would depress into the bezel by 1mm-2mm and then spring back up.
I suspect that is why dust has ben able to enter. Unfortunately, after cleaning and reassembly, the same "give" is still there. I'd hoped that it was just a badly assembled unit and that it would now be properly sealed, but no joy.
did/does your phone have a similar issue by any chance?
Also, I did the cleanout yesterday, same day as I upgraded to ICS (UK CPW XXLQ2 baseband XXLPT). I'm now noticing terrible wifi/cell radio performance (lost 25% battery in 45 mins just browsing with min screen brightness, lots of wifi dropouts, loads of heat dissipating to rear of case). This in same place (my bed!) as I always surf same sites every morning and where on Gingerbread I'd have no dropouts and my battery drain would be minimal (<5%).
Again, I'm wondering whether ICS is to blame or whether I've somehow messed up during reassembly (maybe poorly reconnected one or more of the ribbon connectors leading to the radio chip?). Have you noticed any difference in Wifi/cellular reception since reassembly?
Battery drain and wifi performance continued to be terrible, so I took it apart again and reassembled once more, this time with greaer care. I think I had done a bad job 1st time round as it's now got much better wifi signal, back to how it was originally.
Battery drain is slightly better too but still much worse than on GB but I think that is just a defect of the stock ICS, just coincience that I did the ICS install same day that Itook the note apart.
Did anyone try to blow out the dust and did that work?
I'm not to keen to pick the phone apart for it.

Mysterious stains under the display glass

Hi everyone,
I've had a display protector on my 4X (~7 months old now) from day one. Lately, I discovered some stains on the display and got a new protector. When I removed the old one, I discovered that those mysterious stains were actually on the display glass. After trying to remove them with a microfibre cloth and finally glass cleaner, I realized they are actually on the downside of the display glass.
I have no clue why they turned out now or even where they come from. The display itself still works perfect.
Did anybody of you experience the same problem? Is it a manufacturing error? Living bacteria colony inside my phone? I have absolutely no idea.
Would an error of this kind be covered by the warranty?
I've attached two pictures, the stains are kind of hard to capture with a camera, but I think you can see them.
Regards,
pint
possibly the outcome of going on XXX sites ,lol only joking, could it be caused by possible condensation or possible that the screen has got so hot sometime due to it having the protector on and staining that way
My computer screen is so dirty, i can't see what you mean

Haha, same problem with me
@pitness: it seems like you're german, so check out the P880-Thread on the "android-hilfe"-forum, there is a large thread about your problem...
Well, thanks for the answers, guys.

I have an Iconia A500 for a mans special needs jk
@black-duty
Thanks for the tip, i checked the forum, but the only thread I found was "dust particles under the display"... The pics there actualy looked like dust particles, unlike the "stains" on my phone. I guess I'll just trust try to get a fee warranty repair... After all, the only thing I can imagine is actually a condensed fluid (It never got wet, so... Sweat from my pockets?! but wouldn't that more likely kill the electronics?).
edit: btw what the hell guys, clean your computer screens! totally worth it.

I got almost the same stain as you got looking from the picture and im confident that it is dust or some dirt that got in. Thats because when it first started to get under my screen it looked more like dust particles but know it more looks like a dirty stain like your pictures.
Also when i first noticed the stain forming it came in from the angle where the front camera is top right corner. I also see some slight gap there between the display and the cover at my phone.
Im going to send it back soon since it really annoys me.
I have the same problem. It's definitely no dust. The stain was small but became bigger and bigger. Have you found a solution yet? I found this post:

Camera smudges

has anyone experienced this issue with their Xperia Z rear camera? I tried wiping and washing the camera lens but the smudges are still there.

Yep, same here. Though I only have one "hole" in my pictures (in the upper right corner):
[EDIT] I just spotted another one in the upper middle part.
I am wondering where these particles came from coz this model is advertised as a dust-proof one? Anyhow, I will claim the warranty later and I hope they will change the unit rather than repairing for it is still less than 3-week old.

Camera issue: Dents on every pic

Hi,
I would like to know if anyone of you faced such a issue and if yes then is it a hardware issue or a software issue? I have got this since last week. There are two dents at the right side corner(portrait)/ top left corner (landscape) on every pic. I'm worried about this. any help?

It's hardware. Most likely dirt on Glass lens cover, lens itself or sensor...

lens seems to be clean. could sensor issue.

I would be surprised. Sensor dirt does not usually look that "clean". It's more of a shadow. This might be dirt on the inside of the lens (i.e. the side that you can't get to by wiping the back of the phone).
ETA: Note, my experience is with DSLRs. The much shorter lens-to-sensor distance could nullify my statement. Upon closer inspection this looks like some sort of fuzz (thread or something), again likely inside of the camera assembly whether it's on the lens or on the sensor.

You can't really see the lens as it's inside the phone behind the lens cover.

I think there is little bit dust particles on lens (Inside the camera glass)
I had he same issue, except mine was a black dot. There was 0 dust on the lens and I thoroughly cleaned it and the issue persisted. I even flashed back to stock which didn't fix it. This was on my very first Nexus 6 that was made in Oct 14 so I called Moto and got a RMA replacement.
Well I'll have to take it to service centre. Crap

replaced camera lens cover, now mostly foggy pictures

Alright, I was an idiot and managed to crack my glass camera lens cover. I purchased this : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RKFAZ5I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and did the replacement, but my pictures appear sort of "hazy" or "foggy" for lack of a better term. I can still get it to focus really well, but the pictures don't pop like they used to.
The only thing I did while replacing that could have caused problems was using compressed air while the old cover was off to ensure none of the shattered glass was left in the actual camera lens mechanism. I made sure to hold the can at an angle so that none of the liquid came out, but i did notice the lens mechanism moving around (almost like a hockey puck) as the air interacted with it. I assumed this sort of free floating lens design had something to do with the optical image stabilization, so it didn't seem like a big deal. I put the new cover on with clean hands and thought everything was fine until I started taking pictures again.
Has anyone replaced the camera lens cover and experienced a similar issue? I've ordered another one to take another shot at it, and I'm actually going to take some test pictures while the cover is removed just to see if I did actually damage the lens itself...
I have the jump protection, but would rather fix it myself than pay 175 for a refurb that I'm going to replace in 4 months anyways.
Why not replace the whole back camera?
I dont know how easy is to remove the lens cover but check if pictures taken without cover are foggy or not. If foggy then camera lens is dirty, if sharp - camera lens cover is a problem.

My guess is it got moisture behind the lense, or the lense was dirty.
When they create that hardware it is sealed in 0% humidity. If it was even a rainy day when you installed the lense, it could have caused it to fog up.

What I did was pull mine back and clean it with some alcohol and a q-tip
Is there a part number for that?

Thanks, might give that a shot if it doesn't clear up with the next lens cover.
Did you peel the plastics on both sides of the lens cover? Also check if it's actually focusing. Maybe slap the phone and see if it refocuses. Afterall there are moving parts in there.
Is there a genuine saphire lens cover to buy anywhere? I to used the cheap replacement cover and my pictures are blurry and bad in bright light. My camera itself should be fine though.
