I am on a global firmware, version 12.5.4, and sometimes the touchscreen becomes really unresponsive to the point that the device is almost unusable. I am aware that this is a known issue, has anyone found a permanent fix? Is this still a thing on more recent ROMs?
I feel this is not acceptable on a top-of-the-line phone like the MI 11 Ultra.
You must activate antiflicker in display settings and select "custom" in "prevent accidental edge touches". This is a workaround and improve this issue, still it may occur from time to time. Otherwise you can update to the latest 12.5.6.0, so far in this version I haven't seen this problem (although with those settings enabled)

Thank you. Anti flickering mode is nice. But the problem still persist. No update is available yet but buying best of best by MI and you get this small irritating UI issues is actually very bad.
Unfortunately the workaround only reduce it
Since the 12.5.6.0 touch issues are complete gone for me.
Thx god, the issues were frustratin sometimes

Hey bro, are you on RKAMIXM? And is your device rooted or unlocked bootloader? Or as original as it is out of box?

Yeah, running Global Stable, Bootloader is unlocked but device is unrooted.
No need for root on my side

Thanks,
Just confirmed my theory, I couldn't update to 12.5.6 because of locked bootloader
You can push the update with advanced features. To activate them you need to press on miui button 6/7 times. After that download the latest .ZIP package (recovery update) and when in the updater select on the 3 dots in the up right "choose installation package"

I did that already and it stopped midway with stable recovery update, I had to format factory reset device and reupdate to original 12.5.4 to be able to use device normally.. And with only incremental update, it gave me an error saying cannot update with unofficial release.
May I ask you what did you download please?
Stable update 12.5.6 - local update- went all good, once reached the point to restart phone, then it fails after restart with veeeeeery slow phone and almost unresponsive, took 10mins to unlock screen instead of split of a sec.
Tried to flash a new 12.5.6 and 12.5.4 by fastboot, failed no matter what I do as bootloader is locked. The only way I got away with it was download 12.5.4 and local update it after I factory reset device which didn't help with smoothness but was needed to access local update again
AFAIK there is no fastboot 12.5.6.0 update, only recovery. I would suggest to re download the update as the one you downloaded might have been corrupted

Why you should lose OTA updates? It is stable beta
Updated manually to 12.5.6 and the problem seems finally gone.
If your bootloader is locked I'd recommend not to update.
If it is locked and you successfully update please let me know

I don't know, just got the phone 2 days ago. I'm trying not to mess with anything I'm not sure of.
Sorry if that seemed stupid but i do not want to risk it.
So if i update using that file I'm fine? Also is it the correct file or it should be bigger??
Usually recovery ZIP is smaller than fastboot. Onestly I pushed manually the update through OTA from stable 12.5.4.0 and everything went perfectly. Even with root and of course I have bootloader unlocked. Don't know what can go wrong if you have bootloader locked

It works now
It says the file is corrupted or needs a pasword pasword to extract. Is there a pasword?
Hello thank you for the tutorial
Please I am on 10.1.0.131 (C636) and have install GMS
will I lose everything if I upgrade via USB?
This is my current Version
Will it work
My GMS is working absolutely fine enabling the phone to use all my banking apps and wallets. If I follow this
it seems like to reinstall GMS again and loosing settings and data.
So rather I will stick with EMUI 10 cause not guaranteed that banking apps will run perfectly on this method of GMS installation.
Thank you

My current version is ELS-LGRP4-OVS 10.1.0.183. I've just recently reset to factory settings. will this download update my phone to EMUI 11? i originally thought that resetting back to factory would enable auto updates from OTA.

You need to look at your region number, if your OTA updates are broken, resetting won't fix it. If your region number is C636, this guide can fix it.

My one is C636 (original build was C636E3R5P4) but still getting an "Incompatiblity with current version" error when trying this. Current version is C636E3R5P1 10.1.0.182.
Any reason as to why this could be?
Hi All,
I have a Note 10 5G 4+128. It was originally on vodafone firmware and I unlocked the bootloader and installed EEA 12.0.8.0 Stable. I shortly after received an OTA update to 12.0.9.0 (RKSEUXM) so assumed everything was all good.
I have not received the 12.0.10.0 update yet and the three dots are missing on the update page for me to do it manually. If I reboot the phone and go immediately to the update page the three dots are there for a split second then disappear.
The only thing I can think that has caused this is I have removed something I thought was bloatware using the XIAOMI ADB fasttools java app on windows. I have tried reinstalling pretty much all of the "bloatware" but it does not fix the issue.
A few threads on similar things for different devices have popped up on reddit and people say to clear the data and cache from the system updater app. However I do not appear to have that app and its not in the list of things ive previously uninstalled as "bloatware". My system apps updater still works fine and reguarly updates other system apps.
Any ideas?
tap 10 time on miui logo. you will see advanced options
Thanks for your response.
I have tried this. It states the advanced options are active. My problem is that the 3 dots themselves which gives access to the update settings, which should be shown even when advanced options are off, is completely missing.
If I restart the phone and go into the update page the dots show for a split second then disappear. It almost feels like an app is crashing in the background or something.
Please see attaches screenshot.

mmm... you can try update manually with miflash tools. you know how to do?
I know how to use the miflash tools, however I believe the bootloader needs to be unlocked to use them. I have already relocked the bootloader so would need to wait a week to unlock it again, plus that would mean wiping the user storage on the device which is rather not do.
Surely there must be something else im missing here? Other people online have stated to clear the data and cache from the Updater app on other MIUI devices, however I see no way to do that.

online i have found a tool very helpfull. i have remove the brand from my phone with bootloader locked. now i have the latest eu version. you can try it to update your firmware. search xiaomitool v2 by Francesco Tescari. another helpfull tool i found is xiaomiadbfastboottools.jar
The adb fastboot tools are the ones ive used to remove the bloatware on this and other phones in the past. It is excellent.
The Xiaomitool v2 is also great.
However I still feel like I am missing something. I should not have to unlock my bootloader and wipe my device every time there is an incremental MIUI update. There must be something I am missing here that is causing me not to get the OTA update or have the ability to manually update.

mmmm.... my advice is a clean installation of stock firmware. and the best way to do this is via miflash with bootloader unlocked. i'm not sure but i think something goes wrong during an ota update. so a sytem wipe is necessary. you could try reflash your current stock firmware via Xiaomi tool v2. i have used it to remove my brand without unlock and works fine. but if this don't solve your problem i think the only solution is a new clean installation

Hi guys,
I hope you are all well.
Finally tomorrow I will be able to unlock the BT of my Mi 11.
I would like to flash the EEA Rom without any other customization. The phone is currently on MIUI 12.5.7 CN Rom, I did not update it on purpose.
Shall I just unlock the bootloader and flash the fastboot venus_eea_global_images_V12.5.9.0.RKBEUXM_20211214.0000.00_11.0_eea_dc91966e19 with Mi Flash?
12.5.9 over 12.5.7 will be alright?
My understanding is that I should keep widevine L1 but safetynet will be a fail?
Thank you all for your help.
P.S.
Checking the unlock status after requesting BT unlock did not reset the counter for me, I kept checking every day
Above all, be careful to NEVER reloack your CN Venus Mi 11 with a another branch rom (EEA / Global), if not you will brick your device.
So be careful to Mi Flash, because by default option "clean & lock" is always selected by default.

I really recommend you to use miui 13 Xiaomi.eu Stable or miui 13 global/EEA. Android 12 update really make this device ui smooth without any noticeable frame drops. Xiaomi.eu is basically a CN ROM with all the global languages. Have both google dialer, messages and Xiaomi dialer and messages. You can find a fastboot version that I made of miui 13 global/EEA here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-global-eea-stable-and-miui-13-china.4381953/. It is very easy to install, just one click on "windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat" file and wait for the phone to restart.(will wipe your internal storage) You do not need Mi flash for this, and thus can not lock your bootloader accidentally.
Hi guys,
just to follow up on this.
unlocked the bootloader today, after unlocking the phone got stuck on the Miui logo...
so I ve rebooted in Fastboot mode and flashed the EEA 12.5.9 rom with MiFlash.
All went good apparently but in the end it completed with an error (mentioning a checkpoint)
booted, factory reset, started phone setup.
All good and as expected, widevine 1, Safetynet fail, my banking apps are working..only issue is Netflix from Googleplay not available, I ll try to sideload it later on.
Everything seems good enough, waiting for Miui13 OTA.
Thank you all again for your help

I am using 12.5.9 EEA. Came from phone with Global ROM, so I did exactly what you did - unlocked bootloader, then used miflash to do the EEA flash.
I can tell you it is normal to see the error at end of flash when you pick the "erase but don't lock" option. If you look at the .bat file for this option, the end of the batch file references something that doesn't exist, causing the error. Xiaomi folks screwed something up there, and actually it has been like that since the Mi 9 days (I used to own a Mi 9). So nothing to worry about.

Do it if you have this problem ou directly flash a Xiaomi EU rom.
An existential doubt, if the device has the rom with Antirollback version 1, and the rom to install has AR1 too, is there any risk?

The answer is above.
With MI flash the flash will not work ,if ARB, that's all.
Thank you all for your advice I managed to do a successful job!
Sorry for so many questions!
Thank you all for your patience, responses and help.
I managed to install the Global rom of Mi 11 pro Mars
1) Check the ARB and in both roms, the current one and the one you wanted to install in both the version was: 1
2) Unlock bootloader
3) Install with Mi flash without problems
Totally successful job!

HI! i got a mi 11 pro 1 year ago, and it was offically chinese, but it came unlocked with Xiaomi.eu firmware, but i could't update it via the updater app, so i searched and found the global star version and just flashed it, everything worked, only now google pay nfc didnt work, it said that its probably because of the unlocked bootloader, so i got to fastboot and in cmd i sent fastboot oem lock, and since then my phone is stuck in miui recovery 5.0 screen and says that i cannot run this firmware on the device, i tried to unlock it but failed, maybe after a week, but i think that i didnt turn on oem unlocking on the phone itself before this... So im just hoping that after a week unlocking could be done... Or my other idea is, that i could install the original chinese rom with sideload, because i managed to install another global version on it since, but the result is still the same, the only problem is that i cannot find literally anywhere a mars codenamed firmware...

Anyone who might have the same situation, i found a simple, but effective solution, not sure if it works on every xiaomi device, but i will write down the steps here:
You need to use XiaomiADB, here is the download link and the description for how to use it -> https://xiaomiui.net/how-to-use-xiaomiadb-8044/ (if the page is not available, then feel free to msg me!)
For xiaomi adb, you need to go to 3rd option on the miui recovery screen, NOT THE FASTBOOT
So basically i went through the steps to “xiaomiadb sideload_miui <filename>”
And I tried to install a rom, BUT IT DIDNT ACCEPT IT!
The message was:
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2001, server message -> Can't install unofficial rom
after trying 4 times all the same and: Installation of this rom via stock recovery is not allowed by Xiaomi
Says Installation failed, and then i just decided to download another rom so i PLUGGED OUT THE PHONE right after this, and went to another room to connect to wired network, to download and try a different rom... when i came back, to all my surprise, the phone was turned on, so i went to the setting dev ops and enabled bootloader unlocking, linked it to my account enabled adb and everything that is needed to flash another rom later, so then i rebooted and again, miui recovery 5.0 screen, but now i enabled unlocking, so i put the phone in fastboot, and tried MI UNLOCKER TOOL again, now it says: Please unlock 168 hours later. And do not add your account in MIUI again, otherwise you will wait from scratch.
So that means, after 7 days i wll be able to unlock it, until then, i can turn it on with the above method, in short try to sideload (copy and install) a rom to it, and then after it failed, plug it out and just wait like 10-20 maybe 30 seconds and bam your device is normally booted... I hope it helps to some of you, (i have been searching for the solution for almost a week, my other option was to pay someone who can MAYBE do it or send the phone back to china and pay the repairs, so im really happy with this method! If it helps to you, please reply so i and the others will know that it worked! Have a nice day!
I bought a slightly used 10 Pro (NE2213) from the local ebay. I am based in Bulgaria.
Phone is in great condition and has no sign of wear and tear. HOWEVER....
1. The Camera app keeps crashing.
2. Half of my pictures show as black squares in my Gallery. I don't know if they're not being saved or the previews are glitchy.
That's a big deal to me, because I bought this phone for my wife, so she can take photos of our baby.
So I thought I'd go ahead and update the software of the phone. It has Android 11. No matter what I do, it is impossible to get the update to install. "Extraction failed. Please try again".
I tried resetting the phone to factory settings several times, I tried turning on Developer Mode to install it manually, I tried installing Oxygen Updater from the Playstore, but I was never able to get past this error.
What am I missing here and what can I do? Please help.

Did you try to do a local upgrade with the update downloaded from OxygenUpdater?

Yes, I downloaded the package from OxygenUpdater. Then turned on Developer mode, but the Local Upgrade button from the 3 dots on the top right was always greyed out. OxygenUpdater says I need to install pending updates first, and then use their tool. I was never able to get past the screenshot above. :\
That's a nice tip...on the oxygen updater posts, there is one to restore your phone form Android 13, use that full package to flash OOS 12 again and you're good to go.

Please excuse my ignorance.
How do I "use a package to flash OOS 12 again"? Keep in mind I have Android 11, not 13. and that it's my first time having to do something like this. Does my phone need to be rooted for that?
I appreciate your patience and help, this is my first time having to deal with phone mods.
He said that he has the local update option grayed out so he can't install any package manually. Maybe it's grayed out because there is already another update downloaded. You should try to disable automatic updates and then delete the downloaded update from the internal memory of the phone, it should be in a folder called .Ota. If you can't see that folder you need to enable the option to show hidden files.
My best guess is use the NE2213 Full Downgrade ZIP. It should upgrade you to Android 12 and it's their only released FULL recovery zip so, it's your best bet.
However, seeing as you are on Android 11, some people here might want a dump of some images first, hahaha. It's widely believed this phone does not ship with Android 11
Download this package
https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/2370_sign_NE2215_11_A_OTA_0130_all_bb1e47_10100001.zip
And apply it using this apk https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android13.apk

You don't need to do anything more, but I would recommend you to unlock your bootloader just for precaution if something goes wrong.
Remember to have a full battery before starting the process and I strongly recommend to download from your PC or from oxygen updater to make sure that the package didn't corrupted

I agree with this. I think it's the best option.

The phone released with Android 12 dude, not 11... If I remember correctly there was an Android 11 preview but it was never official so it may be a test device or ambassador device.
My first thoughts would be... Send it back... There's zero reasons why you can't as you're covered for things just like this.... If it's eBay then you should really use PayPal so you're covered.
Beyond that you can use the rollback package to roll back to the earlier versions of android 12, this will flash 2213 onto the device, just Google OnePlus community rollback and you'll find it.
Few other things, are you sure it's a 2213 or a region changed Chinese variant? Did it come in a box? Does that state 2213?
Either way this issue shouldn't be occurring, I'd be sending that back buddy.
